Hold the power button, whilst poking the pen into the hole in the bottom left of the device. This resets it to factory settings.

For a WM2003 machine.. yes, pressing those will clean your pda and reinstall your rom..
It's different for a WM5 machine though.. for that your have to press reset, camera and recorder.. I don't know why it's different. (according to wiki.)
Yeah i thought that i am just having a rom utility upgrade program and was hoping that would fix it but nop

To do a hard reset.
Press both soft keys and insert stylus into soft reset button and press.
Release the soft reset button and keep pressing the soft keys.
When the "This operation will delete all your personal data, to manufacturer default" appears on screen.
Press Green call button to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.
The bootloader is invoked by pressing down the Power and Voicedialer buttons simultaneously, and using the stylus at the same time to press the RESET button at the left side. Continue pressing the two buttons for a few seconds after pressing and releasing the reset button until the bootloader screen appears.

Please Help: New app has killed my orbit

Could anyone offer any advice? I intalled a pocket pc 2003 app on my orbit without realising the consiquences!
System details:
xda orbit
WM6
Meschle - Artemis touch 2.1 WWE
I installed a remote pda control app to the device. It then asked me to do a soft reset, which i did.
Now the phone wont start up. It just hangs at the end of the rotating cube splash screen.
I've tried various resets inc reoving the battery - no joy.
I know you guys and gals know all there is to know about these things so any advice would be great.
i had a similar problem after installing a piece of software. Ended up doing a hard reset (hold down two soft button, and press reset with stylus).
WARNING!!! - YOU WILL LOOSE ALL DATA STORED ON PHONE!!!
anything stored on SIM card or SD card will not be deleted
Hope this helps.

O2 XDA IIs cannot vibrate

The Vibrate function of my O2 XDA IIs doesnt work anymore. I've already hard-reset it but the problem still not be solved. Please help me guys.
Did this happen after a new flash? Try a new rom.
or
Maybe you opened up the device or even dropped it? Open it up and check the cables or get someone to do it for you.
If none of the above, do a backup, and then do a format by doing a hard reset and then pressing record and camera immediately after during the boot screen.
select options 2 and 3 by using those buttons and then press mail to apply.
