[Q] How to Unlocked SHARP Softbank SH934 - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Dear all
I bought a phone which is SHARP SOFTBANK SH934 from Japan. The problem is when i bring back to my country - Malaysia. I notice that this phone cannot detect the network right after i changed to the local SIM card.
I have search through the websites and videos. Most of them are use another sim card with a chip on it that you attach to your GSM sim card and insert into the phone. It's called either a 'Hypersim' or a 'Turbosim'. But this thing is costly.
Does anyone know the another way to settle this problem?
Very much appreciate!!

does anyone know?

hope to get help deeply..

Canadian Question.

Excuse me for being a bit of a newbie, but I am going over to the UK next week and I want to get an XDA II from O2 and then use it while in the UK (where I will be off and on over the next year or two a fair amount), but I also want to be able to bring it back to Canada (Calgary) and then get a Rogers Sim card and have a local number in Calgary as well as the one in the UK, and just switch Sim cards as I travel. From what I understand, this is possible using the unlock software posted on this forum, but I just wanted to clarify that I am correct in my assumption and that I will have full functionality of the XDA II in Canada (providing I pay for the services I am looking for, through Rogers). I have never had a GSM phone before (always CDMA thru Telus) and so I am not really familliar with it all - sorry. Also, can I just go into any Rogers reseller and purchase a Sim card (with the local number on it) and the services I want and then just pop it in? Are they all standard or are there any differnces between the Sim cards in the UK and Canada? (again - please excuse my ignorance when it comes to this technology!). Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi,
You have to unlock the XDA2 with the software on this forum
You wont lose any functionality
All gsm sims are the same (within scope of this thread)
Keep in mind that the XDA2 Software is customized for O2, ie. GPRS, SMSC, Voicemail and what have you got settings will stay those of O2.
You wil have to change those manually when going from one sim to another.
You might want to look at a dual sim adapter. This is a device you put into the sim holder and that can contain 2 sims itself. By switching off an in the XDA2 radio (=phone) you change sim. Advantage is you wont have to open the device every now and then.
I can recommend a dual dim adapter by the name of 'king of double card'. You will need type MAI-E. They are sold on eBay for approx GBP 6 by a guy called saintjoy0_3.

Austria Compact 2 won't take my other t-mobile sim card?

Hi,
I've tried to use my company simcard within my MDA Compact 2 but it won't work!! Any suggestions? The Compact 2 is probably simlocked but since I also use T-mobile in privat I got no idea why it doesn't work!
I got the new ROM update from T-Mobile Austria!
Please Help
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Your company is using T-mobile
You personally uses T-Mobile
You are in Austria
You used the Austria T-mobile upgrade
Right?
What is the message you see when you use your company SIM
absolutly right!
The SIM says T-Mobile! The SIM Card is working fine on my company cell phone!
This is really strange! There shouldn't be any difference between privat and company contracts cause it's the same network (T-Mobile)
The Compact 2 acts like there's no SIM Card in it
... T-Mobile Austria provided a ROM update to solve some bugs!
Before I switched to the new update I tryed the company SIM - Same result!
if the sim card is old it may not be compatible with the device
it's been know to happen
would it make any difference on an unlocked phone?
Or is it not possible to use this sim card at all?
If the phone act as though as there is no SIM card at all, it doesn't sound like a locked phone. a locked phone will gives you various unhelpful messages. Probably as Rudegar said, in compatible SIM card. I have not heard any thing (case or solution) on SIM incompatibility. Can't help you.
one could always ask for a new sim
i've don that before my network sendt me
one right away
I guess I'll try to get a new SIM!
This will probably solve the problem
Cheers, guys

unusable xda exec... please point me in right direction

just baught an xda exec from a seller in hong kong about a month ago off ebay$750 but brand new-bad idea?... (1) anyhow the sim card holder under the battery is missing, i never got one. can anyone please inform me how to get a new one? cant find anywhere! (2) i borrowed my friends sim card slot/holder (need to give back) and then when i put my sim card in the device says "invalid or missing sim card". it works eventually after 20min of playing with the sim card slot. i have read on here that others have had the same problem and they bring the device to the manufac. to have the sim card pins readjusted which made it work fine. however i live in the united states (no o2 manufac.) and i cant get ahold of the company. the device still has the warranty seal sticker so it should be fixable/no internal problems. also when i contact the seller on what i should do there is never a response. ive tried at least 15times. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME [email protected] OR POST thanks all.
i live in ny...i think ur screwed my dude...and y did u pay so much....this **** aint worth no where near 750, smh

How do I Get a New SIM for Used SX66

Hi all. I bought a used SX66 without a SIM card. It works great but I want to be able to use it as a phone, email, internet, etc. It is still locked to the Cingular/AT&T network, which is fine. I have a current AT&T account with a Treo 750. But when I put that SIM card in the SX66 it doesn't work. Is that because of the newer 3G SIM card? Everytime I ask the knuckleheads at the retail stores I get a different answer...variations on "yes, you can do it" to "it's not possible with that old phone".
So is it possible to resurrect this as a phone? And if so, do I have to get my hands on an old non-3G SIM? And then how do I get my account/phone # info on that SIM? Ugh.
Thanks.
I put in my new 3G sim and it worked fine. I had some trouble with it not recognizing it, but it turned out it was just a little loose inside the SIM holder. Im not sure why your BA doesn't like the SIM.
Go to the Mall to buy one!

[Q] Galaxy Nexus Japan SIM

Hi
I'm visiting Japan and have an unlocked Galaxy Nexus. The SIM card that borrowed for Japan from eMobile doesnt seem to work in my phone. The difference between this and the usual SIM card I use is that this one has a circular metal part while my usual SIM is rectangular. Is there some way in which I can fix this to work ? I asked a boffin in Akihabara eMobile shop, but he just pointed out this difference, but I find it hard to believe that this can make a difference.
What did happen the first time I installed it was it asked me to make a voice mail call to some number but I couldn't since there was no service ! The SIM and service work fine in an older Huawei handset provided to me by the people from whom I got the SIM but I would like to be able to use my phone for several reasons.
Any pointers or suggestions ? Some google searching said that you should turn it off and on a couple of times - did that to no avail.

I am poor at English, and since translation was not able to be changed well, either, it writes in in the understood range.
Seemingly, the sim card of emobile cannot be used in galaxy nexus.
Seemingly, only a telephone call will be possible.
Please use nttdocomo or softbank, if you would like to use packet communication.
Since galaxy nexus is sold if it is nttdocomo, this is recommended.
