Bootloader Freezed - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can't turn on my Desire HD. The phone freezes at the HTC logo, and even when I enter bootloader menu.
I wanted to install Android Revolution on it, but this problem occured.
Can you help me out?

What have you done to the phone so far? Eg rooting, or installing any previous roms. Have you wiped the Dalvik cache? That can cause a long boot time.

I wanted to install Android Revolution on my 2.3.5 Desire HD and followed the steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377119
I downloaded Advanced Ace Hack and ran "hack-ace", but first of all, the program said I needed a downgrade, so I chose "yes". Then it done a couple of processes on its own. After that, my phone rebooted and freezed on the HTC logo. I tried to enter bootloader, but it freezes in the menu, too. When I remove the sd card, then enter bootloader menu, I can navigate through the menu, but in the end, even if I select "Recovery" the phone stucks, showing me an red exclamation mark.
I really don't know what to do.
oh, yes, and I also forgot to turn off fast boot before downgrading with that program.

HTC Desire wont boot to android or recovery

I recently followed the unrevoked guide to root my phone and put on the clockworkmod custom recovery image (for slcd http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748618). Everything appeared to go smooth, unrevoked said it was a success, been using it for a few hours now and all of a sudden it wont boot sits at the htc screen, I also can't boot into recovery mode (shows a black line at the top of the screen then powers down). Its a brand new telus desire. Anyone know where i go from here to trouble shoot this/reset the device.
run unrevoked again.

Kind of related:
After running rom manager and asking it to reboot into recovery it no longer will. Stuck at HTC screen.
So it's safe to just re run unrevoked? Won't try and reroot my custom rom or anything?
What did you do to solve your problem? I have the same problem.

[Q] Faulty Desire, continously reboots

Hi,
I've been given a Desire with "special needs". Who gave it to me started having problems after upgrading to Froyo with OTA update. After that the mobile started to reboot by itself. I switched it on and it started well, after a while anyway it rebooted. After that it started rebooting continuosly, without even going beyond the HTC logo. I tried going to the HBOOT (power + volume down). I cleared the storage, then I tried doing a recovery. After that it came out with a black screen with the telephone and a red exclamation mark. Trying to do volume down + power or other crazy combinations doesn't help. So took the battery off. After that I could start normally showing me the usual telephone setup. If I stayed in setup no reboot was happening. I started doing the deeds necessary to root the phone. So I completed the setup and after that I could even connect to the phone with ADb. To root it I had to go to the HBOOT, so I rebooted the phone and I went into it.
I'm using this guide
**Sorry XDA doesn't allow me to link** The guide is android den's HTC desire guide for HBOOT > 0.80
The program that is supposed to do the rooting (Unrevoked2) stays still and doesn't do anything (doesn't even see the device, even if the device is present in Windows device manager as Android bootmanager or something like that).
Bored I tried to restart the phone in normal mode. But it started the rebooting thing... So I took the battery off, waited some time and ... same result.
Then I tried recovering it again, but this time the red exclamation mark doesn't come out. Instead it reboots to the HTC startup log and remains still.
If I reboot after a bettery rest, without going to HBOOT, it will go into the reboot thing.
This is the situation. Do you have any advice?

Boot Loop after Unrevoked and recovery won't work

So today, I ran Unrevoked against a Desire I had spare.
It ran perfectly, even with the repeated "This was a triumph" messages followed by a Done.
The first reboot after intial load went to a boot loop that goes "HTC ... Blank Screen... HTC ... Blank Screen".
I booted to the bootloader, and then loaded Recovery which doesn't respond to volume up or down at all. Reboot, causes the loop to start again.
Any advice? I'm a little concerned I've really killed it.
In recovery use the dpad.

I can't believe how dumb I was with this.
I used the trackball/pad thing. Though when I go to Flash zip from sdcard, it just takes me back to reboot system now.
I've got a replacement ordered.

Cyanogen Mod keeps reloading.. no boot

Dear all,
First of all i have searched, really did, but couldnt find an answer for my problem.
I have installed the standard rom for desire (RUU), used Revoked 3 and rooted my phone, all succesful, installed rom manager, downloaded cyanogen, installed it.. now it keeps loading and loading but nothing happens (at boot).
Tried to flash back to original one using the RUU package but no success, it says usb connection fails..
I tried to do something with Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4 but whatever option i use in this tool, (selecting it and using power button to enter the selected option), i get nothing, only `Revolutionary` text showing up... For now i am out of options, i hope you guys can help me..
Thanks in advance.
Didn't search well enough. Read boot problems on my guide.
Did you try adb logcat during boot? I'm having similar problems - it gets stuck at the bootup screen, before the CM7 screen, and logcat shows it going in a loop. I was advised to wipe cache and dalvik cache and install CM7 again.

[Q] HTC Desire Looping "quietly brilliant" startup screen

My HTC desire with the official ginger bread update on is now looping the "quietly brilliant" startup screen - my battery run out and when I started charging it and switched it on, this happened, completely random
I have tried recovery mode etc, however this doesn't work
Does anyone know if there is anything I can do?
Does it go to
- bootloader mode vol- and power
- fastboot mode back and power
I had the same problem, after doing some research I came to the conclusion that the issue was with the partition type of my memory card.
Try this, remove the memory card insert the battery and then restart [do not insert the memory card]. If it works now then you have the same problem I was facing. If not then this could be something different.
Reply, if the same i will provide the solution.
try deleting (wipe) user data and dalvik cache if you don't have something important.

Key phrase here is "with official gingerbread update".
via xda app
yes it has the official gingerbread update on it from the htc dev site - ie I have never rooted it or put a custom made rom on it
recovery or fast boot, ie switching on with volume buttons doesnt work
I have tried without the memory card and without the sim card still loops
I just cant seem to stop it looping this screen!
*edit*
oh wait, I just tried fast boot, back and power and that worked!
what can I do now? reinstall rom?
The only option you have right now would probably be to run the official gingerbread RUU again. Unless you wanna root it from this point forward.
You'll probably lose all your data which is probably lost at this point anyway.
My concern is that it just went crazy and you are on stock so I feel something else might be broken.
via xda app
Get the 2. 3. 3 RUU from htcdev only and run it from pc.
