Connect to tv - HTC Desire 526

Hello
I have the HTC Desire 526 and would like to play the videos on my phone onto my TV or Xbox360. Is this possible or are my attempts futile?

If your TV understands "DLNA" standard - you'll be able to watch the broadcast from your phone to your TV...
Sending video via cable (HDMI or VIDEO) software is not provided...

[Q] Is there anyway of sending a TV signal via the USB socket?

As the title goes really can you send a TV signal down the socket througha home made adapter lets say to display video from phone to TV? Something similar to what the N95 did via the audo jack?
No.
You could always use DLNA to stream stuff from your phone to your tv (if your tv supports it)

From Mobile to tv

Hi guys - just wondering if there was a way to stream content from the HTC one X to a tv.
Ive seen the MediaLink product which is quite nice and i gather that you can use a HDMI lead to connect to tv and view output this way - but here your bound with a wire obviously.....
My Blu-Ray player is DNLA compliant and is connected to my tv.
So is there anyway i can get the Blu-Ray player to recognise the HTC one X and stream to here then upto the TV? Just seeing if i can save a few quid lol.
Info - ive got my pc & bluray connected to a wireless router if that matters in anyway!

DNLA with The Samsung Galaxy S3?

I don't know if anyone can help me but I figured I could ask. I have a LG BluRay DVD Home theater System that has DLNA ability that is hooked to my HD tv that is not. My home theater reciever is not currently hooked up to my wireless network but I see that the receiver does have a ethernet port in the back. I am mainly trying to connect my galaxy s3 to my tv to stream video etc. Does anyone know if I direct connect the DLNA capable home theater receiver to my wireless router, which will connect it to my wireless network, will I then be able to send info from my galaxy s3 to my theater system which will show up on my TV? Sorry for the noob question but i got to start somewhere.....Any information will help based on my situation of not having a DLNA capable TV lol
Unless i am wrong i dont think you can stream video from your device to the tv. IT has to be content loaded on y our device. Like a movie, song or picture.
Hulu and Netflix and anything you can watch on your device via streaming method will only display on your screen or if you have an MHL adapter.
By using the DLNA app it acts as a media server so you can use your tv/bluray device to brows certain media types on your phone and play them on your tv.
My PS3 is hooked up to my router via the RJ45 jack, and my phone is on the same network via WiFi. They will see each other.
As long as its the same network and the devices are DLNA compatible you should be able to get content off your phone and onto the TV.

FireTv & EDID

Hi,
I have Fire TV 2nd edition and Samsung Series D and Soundbar. The way it's connecting:
FireTV ----> HDMI ---> TV
TV ----> Optical Cable ----> SoundBar
As the soundbar doesn't have HDMI input, I must use the Optical cable. Seems even the source playing with DTS and/or Dolby, the TV is sending only 2 channels (stereo) to the soundbar. However when using application in the smart TV (which is not external), i'm getting 5.1. I read the manual of the TV and it seems it's by design:
When the receiver (i.e Home Theater) is set to On, you can hear sound
output from the TV’s Optical jack. When the TV is displaying a DTV (air)
signal, the TV will send out 5.1 channel sound to the receiver. When the
source is a digital component such as a DVD player and it is connected to
the TV via HDMI, you will hear only 2 channel sound from the receiver.
I read a lot about it and it seems it's because EDID that Fire TV is sending to the TV and in case i'll be able to overidde the EDID, it'll work properly. I understand the Microsoft did something similar in Xbox console.
Any idea if it's possible to hack the EDID? Is there any software solution for this? I see that I can buy audio extractor and it'll solve my problem, however I prefer software solution.
Thanks.
