Spotify and notification problems - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, I've searched but I've found nothing about it.
I've a weird problem, if I use spotify (I've always a bluetooth device connected, smartwatch or car but, it could not be correlated), no problems at all but, when I close the app my notifications disappear. The phone has no problems, if I change the notification sound, I can hear the preview but, no notification sound. Every other sounds has no problems, but, I have to reboot my phone in order to resolve.
Stock android with no customizations.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Sounds problems since Xfinity Player install

I installed the Xfinity TV Player App on my Epic 4g yesterday (stock FC09) and I am having a weird problem since where I am unable to hear any sounds from my phone speaker (media, system sounds, phone calls) except for notifications/ring tones. The microphone also does not seem to be working during my phone calls since the person on the other end cannot hear me. However, the speakers and microphone work just fine if I use my earbuds - I would just prefer to not have to pull them out all the time just to answer a phone call. It can't be a hardware problem with my phone since I hear ring tones just fine, so I figure it has to be a software problem.
All volumes in my sound settings are at max. Powering off and turning back on the phone doesn't fix it. I have uninstalled and re-installed and uninstalled the Xfinity player app with no change. (I don't know if this is relevant, but when I installed the app, after installation I got the "low internal memory" message and then when I uninstalled, it gave me a message that it did not uninstall properly.)
I would prefer not to hard reset my phone if possible, but I can't think of anything else I might try. Any input would be much appreciated - thank you!

[Q] Popping/Crackling sound?

Now i'm having this really weird popping or crackling sound all throuhout using the phone (Not only though music and videos), if i unlock the phone, i hear the unlock sound then a pop, if i get a notification sound, i get a weird pop after it, sometimes when i type, and if i leave the phone on the desk and get a notification sound and vibration i hear it then some random pops or crackles afterwards ... anyone else suffering from that problem? and please help.
I also have this problem on most fresh installs of CM roms

I have long suffered the same issue that the OP is talking about. It is a seemingly random pop/crackle noise that happens AFTER touching the screen or after a vibration. It is very strange, almost like static buildup that is then played through the speaker. It doesn't matter if haptic feedback is on or off, or if the phone volumes are turned off. It also doesn't happen every time, or can happen multiple times in a row.
Someone mentioned at one time that it might be NFC related, but when having the problem I can toggle the NFC on and off and it doesn't fix it.
However, it has magically disappeared over time on certain roms, and I have managed to keep the same "data" backup that I reflash after a fresh rom install. A fresh install of nearly any CM-based rom has the problem. It leads me to believe that some setting stored in the data partition causes/fixes the problem. I would really like to figure out what it is so that I can actually do a fresh install without carrying over junk files from ancient rom installs. Does anybody have any ideas?

The crackling and pop sound is when you hear the DAC being muted after its not in use, This is totally normal, to reduce this effect try disabling any equalizers you may have or anything else that would modify sound in any way.

[Q] Mute notifications when headphones are connected

I'm currently using a stock based GB rom, Aurora 0.7.
I have a strange issue when listening to music with my headphones connected. I have the phone in silent mode so without the headphones connected the notifications make no sound. However, with the headphones connected and still in silent mode, when I get a notification the sound plays out of the phone speakers. I would expect this to not make a sound at all, or play the notification sound through the headphones.
Is there a way to change this behaviour?
Thanks.
For anyone interested, I gave SoundAbout a try, but this did not work. The best workaround seems to be Hearing Saver. The settings can be updated so there are no notification sounds played at all when the headphones are connected. Both these apps require running a background service.

No Notification Sound

Hey guys and gals,
i have a problem with my Nexus 5x. Since 1h I don't have ( almost ) notification sounds. WhatsApp, Gmail etc are all "muted". Regular calls ring, WhatsApp calls don't. I don't have the - not disturb - Mode on and i have rebooted my device three times. I didn't change anything! My Phone is not rooted, and have the latest update. My speaker is fine, i can hear music through Spotify, YouTube etc. My device is two weeks old.
I apologize for my bad english, i hope you can understand..
Thanks!
Edit.: I have delete my recent apps and cleared the cache. The problem remains..

Have you tried to change notification sound? Every notification is muted?
I've a similar problme, when I start a call from my smartwatch, after the call's end, my notification sound totally disappears. But a reboot solve the problem.

Bottom speaker Notification issue

Hello, I just picked up a used one m9. I seem to be having an issue i am not sure if is a setting or hardware issue. No matter the notification chosen i hear nothing. Ringtone works. and sound for shows work/netflix etc. But it seems it only comes from the top speaker. So no notification no matter what app, facebook etc. or alarm sounds.
EDIT: Ringtone works from settings but not from someone calling. Just vibrates.
I have the same issue, I dont know if is a hardware issue or software issue. I recently bought the phone. I'm running Android 7.0 stock from México
