HTC 10 battery issues - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone, I am running HTC 10 marshmallow stock rom (My country doesnt have nougat update yet) and I faced some problem with the battery recently. I went to travel in iceland for about 2 days, and after i came back I realised a rapid drain in the battery power even during idle.
Below are a few tests that I carried out,
1. I charged my phone to full and carried out the default battery test by typing *#*#3424#*#*. The results was 6% of battery drain with screen on for 1 hour at maximum brightness in airplane mode. From the htc 10 customer service team, they said this shows that the battery wasnt faulty ( The battery is faulty if battery % drop below 70% in an hour).
2. Then i switch to safe mode to check if it was the background apps that causes the problem, even worst, the battery over night in extreme power saving mode was dropped by about 40%. I factory reset the phone.
3. The next day I do the same thing as (2), but this time with airplane mode, the battery drained over night still about 40%.
The battery usage from GSAM apps shows nothing unusual going on in the background at night.
I have to charge my phone at least twice, once before i sleep and once after i woke up, i sleep average of 7 hours a day.
My question is, since its not battery issue, after i factory reset the phone this problem shouldnt persist, can somebody explain to me before i decide whether to send in for repair? Sorry if the thread was repeated.
Attachments below shows the batter drained

This is the battery reduction graph during safe mode tests

There must be a rouge app running somewhere.
Your phone doesn't seem to be "sleeping" at all.
It's whatever is causing the extremely high (100%) awake time, that is causing your battery to drain so quick.
Would be helpful if you could send a screenshot of the main stats page on gsam. Example below: (from my M9)

[Q] Idle Battery Drain

Every night I charge my DHD while I sleep so it makes it through the day. The phone is always in aeroplane mode, screen off, wifi off etc.
Last night after copying files to and from my computer, with my DHD connected to my computer via USB I found it fully charged. I figured there was no point plugging it in overnight if it's only at 100%. So I unplugged it, put it on aeroplane mode locked the screen and left it overnight.
This Morning I expected a maximum of 5% drop in battery overnight but was shocked to fine 47% had trickled away overnight. I checked the battery usage in 'About Phone'. Very little was listed, things like Display with a time on of 4min, Android OS is listed with a CPU load time of 44s and 5.21KB of data sent. All of these are very small drains but at the top of the list is 'Phone Idle' which just states its been idle for 8hr and 33min.
So Why did my phone drain so much power overnight? These are the only things listed in battery use and none of them seem enough to drain almost half my battery.
I can comfirm overnight I'm sure aeroplane mode was ON, because I had to turn it off this morning.
Wi-Fi was OFF because I rarely use my phone for internet at home on my Wi-Fi, my tablet is for that.
The screen was OFF because battery usage only says 4 Minutes that it was on.
Anyone have any idea what's draining.
Try Battery Monitor Widget and look how many mA/h it drains when in idle. It should be about 1-10mA

After 1 hour of leaving it with the battery monitor with the widget on my home screen, it shows 13mA. Is this acceptable? Mobile network was on but not sending any data, the screen was off the entire time.
I will monitor overnight to see what the drain is like then.
Sounds quite okay. Don't forget to add the widget to the homescreen. Then you can check the history in the app so you can see how much it drained over night.

Left my phone is same conditions last night, only drained 7%, weird. Battery Monitor measures throughout the night 1-5mA drain. Seems normal. Just weird that it drained so much one night and hardly any another night.
Had the same problem mines was a faulty battery had htc replace it for free, they didnt ask for the old one back...

Shutdown at ~25% with new battery and 20% with old

Hello,
I've read the threads about battery in the desire, BATT FIX with new kernels etc but can't really find a definite answer for my problem.
I bought my phone 18 months old and from the beginning it has shut down at about 20%. Tried the battery thing with charging, on/off, charing again etc, wiping battery stats etc but it doesn't seem to matter. So, I thought I'd just buy a new battery and be done with it.
The new battery arrived yesterday (actually, it's a used battery from customer returns but seller tells me it's been tested to be in mint condition). So this battery shows 3% when I first start up with it, "good, this seems to work" I think. But when at 75% the charger indicator (LED light) all of a sudden turns green and battery % jumps straight to 100%. I do the battery calibration trick with on/off charge and wipe battery stats. Stuck at 100% for some time as reported by others trying this "trick", have been using it all day and it shuts down at 25% even worse than the other battery...
The best voltages I've seen on this supposedly new battery is 4,144 and somewhere above 3.5 (nowhere near 3.2 and 4.2). What strikes me as odd is that I get very close to the same values with my old battery so I'm starting to think that maybee both battery are good but the phone reports way wrong values...is this possible?
Battery life with phone and data connection on, 1 gmail account but disabled backup feature (no GPS, BT etc) gives me -5% after 10 hours standby and I can use the phone for browising, light gaming for about 3 hours and 40 minutes before it dies (more or less constant usage at very low autobrightness levels and Turbo 3G enabled).
If someone has some insight into this it would be really helpful before I contact the eBay seller for this particular battery.
Regards, Olle
Same thing
My phone shuts down at 35% now... Is that a problem with the chipset or what? Only with Alex-V's calibrated kernels my phone shuts down at 0%, and sometimes it decalibrates too, but after calibration is Okay. I wonder if i need a new battery or my chipset has issues.

Big battery drain from last night

Hello.I have htc 10 from year and 4months.Never had a problems with the battery before.Usually i charge it to 100% before i go to sleep and in the night without using the phone have 93-94% in the morning when i wake up.But this morning i woke up and saw 25% 75% battery drain without using.Every time after when i using phone i delete all of the recently apps. Before 35min i charge the phone do 100% again and after 35min without even touch the phone i have 93%.I checked the apps that drain most and its this - System - 6%, Mobile networkk 2% and Phone idle - 1% and everything other 0%.
I never let down the battery to 0% to turn of the phone.Maximum 5 times my battery was lower than 15% and never used Power saver modes.Always with the last official software. Can this be a problem of the battery and can the warranty fix that battery issue ?
I tried the fix from this theme but dont see any improvment. Also i noticed that when the phone is on the charger, the phone says - "16min to full charge".I leave the phone and after 10min i look onto it and it - "14min to full charge". After another 10min - "12min to full charge."

Battery drain issues

For last two weeks i was experiencing issues with high battery drain. My phone can discharge 5% in minute when it is locked and screen is black and when I am using it battery drain is even worse. It happend like snap of the fingers cos I woke up and this started happening and in addition fast charging stopped working. I haven't updated or changed anything. One day it was fine and second day this occurred. I figured out that it can be related to error in my os but after cache clear, factory reset, and kernel reinstall nothing changed. I checked my battery usage and two of Android os processes used 20% of my battery, cell standby used 10%, screen used 8%, and idle phone process used 2%. What can cause this issues?

Significant standby battey drain overnight

Anyone else seeing massive overnight battery drain? I posted about it int he XDA_RealLifeReview thread but that gets very little traffic...
I see ~20% - 25% battery drain overnight. Settings are factory default with the exception of a few that have to be set as not optimized. Exact same ones as my old 6T which only had a few % drain over the same time period. Last night I went to bed at about 12:15 am with a 33% battery. Woke up at 7:30 with a 13% battery.
Before I went to bed I cleared out all recent apps. The battery usage is a pretty constant continual drain regardless of day or night.
Anyone else seeing this? Suggestions? I think tonight I'll put it in airplane mode and see what happens. It's like the phone will not go in to a low power mode at night...
Factory reset.
I too have the same issue .The phone drains a lot sitting there still.I guess it's cuz Android 10 isn't optimised as Android 9 for op7t .
Yeah noticing the same.
I'll be getting the device soon. What OxygenOS version does this problem occur in?
Maybe it's a latest version bug, did you notice it before with the OS out of the box?

Did a factory reset - didn't restore anything - not noticing a difference.
Used airplane mode last night (but kept Bluetooth on for my watch) and only lost 5% in 7 hours. Much different than the other nights!!!
I would check app usage during the overnight drain. For the last two nights I have only seen 5% drain which isn't ideal but it may get better as the system adjusts itself.
