[SIMLock] How to remove simlock on desire - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've buy a brand new HTC Desire to an Orange shop in france.
I'm going to move in Germany and want ton install inside a german SIM.
Is there a quick and easy way to remove simlock on this phone ?
Regards,
Harlock

You'll need to buy an unlock code from one of the many websites that sell these codes.
I'm not going to recommend any particular site, because it seems the service you receive can be quite variable, so just google "HTC Desire Unlock Code".

Dave

i search on your forum but my English is to bad for understand all that you say and you've got a lot of soft
so if you can tell me the soft to use and how to use it
thanks for all
and sorry for my English
If you mean to unlock it to use on any network you choose, there is no software to do this. If you want to unlock the rom, that is a different story. What do you want to do?
i want to unlock it to use on any network
At this time, that is not possible. But I ask, why did you buy a locked phone? There are many posts on this website concerning unlocking. If you wanted an unlocked phone, why did you buy this one to begin with? Perhaps it was cheap, and now you are stuck with it unless you bought it legally and can get the unlock code from your subscirber. I paid the price and my phone was not locked to begin with.
i don't buy the it is a "renew" by my provider with my points
so i buy a code on a web site
thanks for your help
good luck on finding a code on a website. It won't happen.

Unlocking HTC Desire on Orange Austria

Is it possible?
I have contacted 2 code providers so far, and both seem to have trouble providing me with a code.
Please post if you have unlocked your HTC phone on Orange Austria or on other continental European Orange networks.
PS. If it helps - my Desire has no visible Orange branding on the hard/software (HTC Splash screen), but the network lock is present.
I have tried HTCCODE and had no success unlocking with them. Is there another code provider that can help me unlock my HTC Desire?
have you unlocked in yet?
OK finally after bout 2 month i did my unlock
1. HTCCode 15euro -> no code found, fully refund after bout 1 or 2 weeks
2. Semaf.at 30 euro -> after 1 week emailed them, after 2 weeks no code found -> waiting for refund
3. got HTCCode Deep search email 30 euro => right code in under 10 min delivered!
so i really recommend htccode for nice email support and fast delivery!
I got a HTC Desire from Orange Ausria with a BOB sim card
It's definitely possible to unlock a HTC Desire with Orange Austria simlock. As isit-LoVe already mentioned htccode.com offers working codes - It seems Orange isn't relocking their phones like other austrian providers.
I unlocked my Desire for 35$ and I have to say it's worth every penny, especially because of the very friendly support by Sudarshan.
P.S.: I'm using the Desire with a yesss sim card now
Great service. HTC Deisre ( Orange Austria original locked ) work now with T-Mobile Austria SIM card.
How do you do it?
I can see on lockscreen: Limited service
and I can not enter any unlock code :/

Due to get Desire on Three network - ireland, options to upgrade/de-brand

Hi
To sum it up should I buy sim free (expensive) or go with Desire on the Three network?
I am due to get a Desire handset on the Three network in Ireland through a work contract.
As I understand it the rollout is currently delayed due to issues loading the Three applications, branding and customisations on to the devices in Ireland..
I am assuming if this is the case, that the handset will then be both locked and branded, also whenever Froyo comes to device via HTC i will not be able to upgrade due to the Three branding and apps.
So to get froyo (whenever) i assume I will have to unlock and debrand, and get the stock HTC rom - is this all possible? anybody been through this?
Otherwise I am seriously considering just purchasing SIM free althought that will be at least double the price.
Just looking for advice on my best option?
Cheers for any experience, advice (maybe from three UK customers)
TC
hi, if you intend to use the device on the 3 network there is no need to unlock it, debranding your phone is also easy, look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696189 this will tell you how to make a goldcard, once you have a goldcard you can easly flash any generic desire rom
