Thank you to those that have! If you are new to this thread, browse through the pages. I always try to answer questions quickly and thoroughly, as well as provide a stable kernel. If this kernel doesn't have the "features" you are looking for, or you have seen a cool new mod, just ask and I will try to accommodate (or at least give a reason why not)

installation
2 ways...
-download and extract boot.img from zip...non-ak versions
-enter fastboot mode by (with phone off) press and hold volume up&down and then power
then to test (reverts on reboot)
Code:
fastboot boot boot.img
to flash
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
or
-download to sd card and flash from recovery
tweaks
version 3.1.7 has several "tweaks" that are controlled in system/etc/init.d/007tweaks
-color and v1 control
-vibration control
-volume boost
-high performance sound
-fast charge
everything boots to stock settings, make adjustments at your leisure.
included is system/etc/init.d/007tweaks.bkk which are the settings I use (just rename to 007tweaks)
of course with cm9 and aokp the colors can be adjusted with sliders in rom settings
007tweaks
Code:
echo "60" > /sys/class/misc/samoled_color/red_v1_offset
echo "60" > /sys/class/misc/samoled_color/green_v1_offset
echo "60" > /sys/class/misc/samoled_color/blue_v1_offset
#default 60 60 60
echo "2004318071" > /sys/class/misc/samoled_color/red_multiplier
echo "2004318071" > /sys/class/misc/samoled_color/green_multiplier
echo "2004318071" > /sys/class/misc/samoled_color/blue_multiplier
#default 2004318071 2004318071 2004318071
echo "1450" > /sys/vibe/pwmduty
#default 1450
echo "0" > /sys/class/misc/soundcontrol/volume_boost
#default 0 max 3
echo "0" > /sys/class/misc/soundcontrol/highperf_enabled
#default 0 on 1
echo "0" > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/force_fast_charge
#default 0 on 1
permissions are set on flashing, but if changed with "es explorer" they need to be reset to
for roms that don't have "color slider adjustments" to have the changes take affect without rebooting, open a terminal and run....
Code:
su <enter>
run-parts /etc/init.d/ <enter>

kernels are preset
don't drop more than 75mV under default

one more jic........

Think nitro put me on this kernel. Thank you for your work.

btw, interactive is recommended (default gov)

Thanks for the tip I switched it to interactive and rebooted. Everything I have tried so far has been fine phone, text, SMS all send and receive perfect, GPS locks almost instantly. No complaints here!

This kernel is really smooth. Performance is awesome. Haven't really gotten to test battery yet though. Happy so far!

Battery for me is best on this kernel
CodeName Android
007 kernel
Hybrid 3 Radio

Just loaded the experimental and running great so far.
Liquid 1.3
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

I've been on Franco's kernel and Lean kernel and this is def the smoothest and best battery for me. I'm on the stable version.

Wow, this kernel is smooth even on the 307 gpu version.
One of my biggest gripes about this phone is how laggy the notification drawer can be (for example, if you're doing something, you get a gmail notificaiton and you tap it, watch how ugly it transitions to the gmail app)
This kernel seems to take care of that for me .
AOKP B33
007 kernel
Hybrid 3 radio

Strictly speaking on performance and battery, would 3.1 (Pure) or 3.1.7 (Crazed) be better?

What's the 3.1i version?

That's something I'm looking into. Tho that would create the need for a constant while loop checking for changes to the sleep state. While it would not be difficult, I don't think its 100% needed. I will tho look into a good way to implement tho. Thanks!

Hmmmm. Will keep my eyes on this....I like the idea of not needing to have two apps(setcpu and bln control) taking up space when I never go into them unless I flash a new kernel. Will there be a way to set governor settings? meaning like on demand parameters for up threshold and such

Battery Saver Script - 6.30.12

Greetings all!
I have modified Calkulin's Battery Saver Script to work with our GNex devices. I updated the undervolt init.d script to work on both CPUs and tweaked the voltages based off Apex's voltage table. If you are setting cpu setting on boot via control app (ie: Glados, Franco, performance settings) please disable since the conflicting scripts will cause issues. The default governor and other settings can be modified by manually changing values within the scripts.
Prerequisites:
A kernel with init.d support
-default CM9 kernel doesn't work (still looking for a fix)
Flashing Instructions:
1. Reboot into recovery and make Nandroid backup
2. Flash attached zip file just like you would a rom.
3. Reboot and enjoy.
REMOVED FOR STABILITY/COMPATIBILITY
Undervolt Steps are based on # of CPU frequencies available:
Code:
STEPS_10="1475 1375 1325 1275 1225 1175 1050 975 850"
STEPS_9="1425 1375 1325 1275 1225 1175 1050 975 850"
STEPS_8="1375 1325 1275 1225 1175 1050 975 850"
STEPS_7="1325 1275 1225 1175 1050 975 850"
STEPS_6="1275 1225 1175 1050 975 850"
STEPS_5="1225 1175 1050 975 850"
CPU profiles:
Code:
BATTERY_PROFILE_1: From 100% - 85% battery level
MAX_CPU_SPEED="1200000"
MIN_CPU_SPEED="0"
BATTERY_PROFILE_2: From 84% - 0% battery level
MAX_CPU_SPEED="1000000"
MIN_CPU_SPEED="0"
AWAKE_GOVERNOR_ON: Changes to this initially after screen turns on
AWAKE_GOVERNOR="interactive"
AWAKE_MAX_CPU_SPEED=max profile speed
AWAKE_MIN_CPU_SPEED=max profile speed
AWAKE_DURATION="5"
SLEEP_GOVERNOR_ON: Changes to this once screen turns off if no SCREENOFFMAX file is found
SLEEP_GOVERNOR="conservative"
SLEEP_MAX_CPU_SPEED="800000"
SLEEP_MIN_CPU_SPEED="0"
The script at work.

Also are there any setting/options, I havent found any going through settings.

Installed fine with darthstaker rom wifi seems to be working great as well. Thanks for the kernel. Looking forward to a rom son too hopefully .
Edit: it seems that using an app like trickster mod to put the max cpu at say 1.3ghz only caps cpu 1. Cpu2,3,4 still go to 2.5ghz. Anyone else have this problem?
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
For uv do we need trickster mod, or should setcpu work?

Trickster will flash right in along with the kernel. One of the best apps for kernel control available IMO

I usually try to stick with what the Dev uses, in this case I'm fairly certain it's Trickster, but to each his own.. Let us know either way you go what kind of results you're getting.. :thumbup:

This one will not go lower than 800 on voltages. Have a more aggressive kernel testing now

so i assume we need to wipe cache and dalvik correct? thats what i always did for kernels.
So much smoother, the responsiveness is better, not just blowing smoke. My floating toucher app is actually working flawlessly now, it would be unresponsive to my first touch half the time, now no issues .. I'm pretty happy already and I haven't done any tweaking.. So happy you're working on this device

When i load up tickster it shows everything from 576mhz and lower at 775. This is the default that loads for me? is it going to that or is it only really at 800.

It is that low, but if you go to change them, they will default to 800. I will have a fresh one up in maybe an hour

Boot Image Unpacking/Repacking:
If there's anything you want to utilize within the boot.img, (ramdisk for example) here's a quick guide on unpacking boot.img
You will need to get a hold of the latest unpackbootimg/mkbootimg, I recommend CM11 source.
Boot partition is located in /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot
To unpack:
Code:
mkdir output
./unpackbootimg -i boot.img -o output
To repack:
Code:
./mkbootimg --kernel output/boot.img-zImage-dtb --ramdisk output/boot.img-ramdisk.gz --cmdline "console=ttyHSL0,115200,n8 androidboot.hardware=hammerhead user_debug=31 maxcpus=4 msm_watchdog_v2.enable=1" --base 0x00000000 --pagesize 2048 --ramdisk_offset 0x02900000 --tags_offset 0x02700000 -o new_boot.img
(OLD: Furnace-1.1.0 and below) Strict Mode:
Trickster Mod does not support this module parameter yet, so here's some sysfs!
-Make sure MPDecision is disabled and IntelliPlug is enabled
-Make sure Eco Mode is not enabled
Code:
echo "1/0" > /sys/module/intelli_plug/parameters/strict_mode_active
Sweep2Wake/Sleep
Yes many apps support this but here's some more info on it and sysfs.
Code:
echo "2/1/0" > /sys/android_touch/sweep2wake
Code:
echo "1/0" > /sys/android_touch/doubletap2wake
Selecting "2" for Sweep2Wake will limit the feature to S2S only, to use, swipe from the left or the right of the navbar to the alternate side.
Selecting "1" will enable both S2W and S2W, to turn on your display, swipe from the left or right of the screen to the alternate side.
DoubleTap2Wake Feather Radius
You will be able to control the allowed distance between tap #1 and tap #2. This will help with unintentional wakes quite a bit.
Code:
echo "3/2/1" > /sys/android_touch/doubletap2wake_feather
Value 1 is the stock radius, 2 is a tighter radius, and 3 is a very tight radius (which I found quite nice).
Diag Mode enable:
Code:
setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb
Disable:
Code:
setprop sys.usb.config mtp,adb
Want to customize? Use this.
If you pick your kernel based on buzzwords then this has all that crap I guess.
WOO HOO!!! Good job dude!!
I'm gonna try this with Codefire X
Thanks for the hard work

It depends what you're doing in that 30 minutes. 30 minutes of playing GTA San Andreas and 30 minutes of reading is quite different.

Are you using F2FS?
Anyway "This kernel is available for AOSP ROMs only, ROMs that use CAF are not supported at this time.." No idea wad is CAF? But is stock rom considered as AOSP roms? Isn't AOKP or CM considered as well?

Not using F2FS at all.
Is there something wrong with F2FS support? When I use other kernel (This I tried http://d-h.st/6w5), it manages to boot up. But when I use this kernel, when booting up, it gives me the screen "Type password to decrypt storage"...
