[Q] HOX burst camera on stock Jelly Bean - HTC One X

Is this possible? Been running cyanogenmod for a few months as I was stuck on a Vodafone UK cid, have recently been able to flash 1.36 hboot and am currently running mike1986's jb Rom, its a hood fast Rom but after using stock android for a few months I think I no longer like sense.. in fact I think I no longer like what HTC have done to jb,.. I'm going to switch back to stock in but one thing HTC have done right is the burst camera.. is it possible to have it on a non sense rom?

No, the camera from Sense ROMs can only run on Sense framework. I would love to have it too, but it's just not possible.

Just use third party apps camera.
There's plenty of them on the market.
Some of it almost like sense's camera.
Just keep trying..
Cheers!!

Where can I get the HTC Contacts, Calendar, and Dialer Apps?

Hey guys.
I've got DeFrost 1.5f running on my desire, and I love it, but I want the HTC Calendat, Contacts, and Dialer apps back. I much prefer those over the apps that are built into Froyo. How do I go about getting those apps back?
I think you can't. AFAIK, they're built into Sense using HTC framework. I would love to know if there's a way aswell...

Correct. You cannot get those apps without Sense
Okay. Is there any way for me to install Sense on this phone without using a whole new ROM?
Nope

plain android rom

I wood really like a rom which is just plain android (no htc sense ui). As I would like to use launcher pro beta as my home. Or even better a method of removing sense ui from stock rom.
Thanks
Dion
I would suggest you try one of the Froyo roms if you are wanting a rom without sense ui.

why would you want a nexus one :s its an ugly desire with less ram
In retrospect, i would probably have chosen the nexus too, just for the quicker release of OTA updates from Google. But with this in mind, and when the Desire officially receives the Froyo update, wouldn't updates be released quicker through HTC if they get rid of sense ui?...

I hate sense to. Its the stupiest of all home screen. But installing anything else means rooting which I dont like just now.
It is impossible to use any ROM except the stock ROM on a non-rooted desire.

Wow, why get a phone with Sense if you're going to complain?
Try out adw launcher or the stock Nexus One launcher us available for download as well. You do lose all things Sense if you use it though.

Check out nimbu.amorvi.com
I found the stock launcher here and installed it on my Desire and used it with no problems, you can also find the really cool gallery app from the Nexus One here which has some really cool features that I wish HTC hadn't taken out ie date/location grouping.

I don't hate sense. I do hate the sense homescreen which i have replaced by launcherpro. But the facebook integration and the interface changes do make an addition imo! It could be smoother though ,hope that changes in 2.2

HTC camera app to jellybean ROM(aokp)

I was trying to put the camera app from htc's stock sense, but it didn't work. I'm sure y'all already knew it would fail. But why didn't it work? What are the differences? If I took the camera app from a sense running jellybean would it work. Just trying to understand it. Thanks for yall's time and hard work on here

sense apps would only work with sense ui
that's the whole point no other ui can make it work

That is true ultimately. The HTC camera app depends on many things from the stock software, which the jb based ones doesn't have. This includes possibly drivers, routines, other softwares from the sense ui.
Sadly this is it, if you are an expert in this, there is a chance to port the htc camera app to "basic" android, but I don't really think it is possible without the actual sources.

[Q] what about the sense camera?

I was just wondering if there is any work in progress to port the stock camera to Jelly Bean? I guess few people miss the sense per se but the camera app was really great!
no actually sense camera is only compatible with its kernel driver so , thats not possible!!
Here's a good replacement for stock camera if you miss all effects and all
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=slide.cameraZoom
I bought it while It's on sale. There's a free version too.

Oh, thanks for the recommendation. Actually, I had found this app before your post and I like it. However, I noticed it switchess off after some shots on my device..

I didn't realize that Sense is so far away from the original Android. Used to think it was just a launcher, a different app for setings and some widgets...

Can Senseless ROMs use the Sense Camera, or has the entire Sense framework been ripped out?
Sense apps cannot be used on senseless Rom. Period.
what nonSENSE
They just remove the Rosie launcher in nonSense rom.
No way to get that camera in to cm10
Wait, I remember using a Miui Rom with Sense Camera. I'm 100% sure, so; No, I'm not lying

I'm using this MIUI ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952325 and it has the sense camera...I was using CM10, moved to this and its awesome
sent via a Different Concept
Well the Senseless roms are just the normal sense rom with removed launcher, so the framework is still there and you should be able to use the camera.
As for CM and such, it doesn't have the framework, and putting it on there would be copyright infringement, or something of the sort. Atleast thats what i have understood so far.
Thanks to you all.
Try Viper ROM
ViperX 2.7.1 it is a sense rom, with stock kernel is the best. I tried others, but my phone never had that smooth performance and battery live. I've seen many go to CM, MIUI, Jellybeans and come back. Any way, thats my advice.
