I have LG G4 F500L model (and I guess it is the South Korean model).
Could you please let me know how can I select network options like 2g, 3g, 4g in the settings. I can't find such options.

I got the same problem, wonder if there is any solution without downgrading the firmware
I am a Hong kong user too
F180S is set to work within 15Hz +/- of send 1755-1765 and recv 1850-1860. there is 2nd set of LTE band but that doesnt overlap w LTE band provided in HK. My guess is the the 20d update has reduced the range to maximize battery life, and stopped working w HK LTE. or they changed it to sell HK version of OG.
Probably possible to just get modem from previous 4.0 version and replace the one for 4.1.2.

I have searched XDA forums and there are HUNDREDS of similar posts, still 0 resolves.
I have bought Optimus G and went to my mobile carrier to receive my new MicroSIM. I put it in my device and I had connection for 20 minutes, and I got a red X on my upper right signal indicator. When I try Automatic registration in Settings > Mobile carriers, it searches and says Your SIM card does not allow connection to this network. My PIN code is correctly working and my phone indicates a SIM is inserted, still no connection.
On my lock screen I get - "No service" message next to a SIM icon. Any help appreciated ))

Thanks for the response.
I can only enter New APN, and when I do so, my phone only uses those provided by default from carrier/sim and not the newly entered one

I have AT&T's LG Optimus G E970 with E975 firmware flashed. When I insert any gsm sim card phone tells that there is no sim card and no connection. I think it happend because of not properly backed up EFS partition. Any user of E970, please send me you EFS!!! I don't know how else I may return my connection back. My e-mail is [email protected]

I had the same problem this week.
I was running savyrom for a couple of weeks without problems, but this week I've got this no service problem.
Avert reflash savyrom v2 (wipe cache and dalvik only), I had a subsystem crash and afterwards kernel crash, even after restore a CWM backup of stock ROM.
First I thought that it was normal because I was in a place with weak signal, but I was not able to connect to the network anymore.
At the moment the phone don't charge because I'm having several kernel crash's.

It needs to be 3845#*850# because its the D850 not the 855
My M7 had an option to switch from LTE auot to WCDMA/GSM Auto - no such luck on the G3?
LTE at work is so over saturated I get better speeds on WCDMA but I can't get my phone to switch besides doing the dialer method.

Tasker should be able to do this for you if the magic menu does not. You can even configure Tasker to automatically sense cell phone towers at work and convert to WCDMA, then auto-switch back to LTE once you are no longer in the vicinity of the cell phone towers. Just one of the many, many amazing and useful things Tasker can do for you.
Hi I bought a LG G3 D855 Yesterday and before I did I called Virgin Mobile Canada and asked if this model would work where I live on their band one of the bands they use is LTE 700 and that is listed on the specs for this model. Can anyone help me PLEASE??

Any updates to this?
I had the same problem.
I suspect that the firmware version for some countries doesn't include LTE.
I have installed "4G LTE Switch" from the market. I activate LTE using this application and it works perfectly fine

You can try using an app like LTE Discovery but normally manually switching the band your phone is connected to requires that your phone be rooted and I'm not sure it's possible on newer versions of Android even if you do have root access.
Resetting your network connection or putting your phone in airplane mode for 5 minutes then turning airplane mode off might result in a better network connection since it will be refreshed.
However, phones are usually programmed to default to the strongest network signal rather than the fastest so you might end up back on the same band even though you are unhappy with the speed.

Open the Phone dialer and enter ##3282# (##DATA#)
Then click Edit
Then enter the MSL which is 000000 (6 zeros)
Then click LTE
Then click Band Priority
Select the band giving you problems and move it to the bottom of the list.( By assigning it the bottom priority number which in my case is 18.)
I added screenshots with the options circled

They're primarily LTE now like everyone else. HDVoice (VOLTE), and RCS via Android Messages app. They're moving to all 4G and eventually 5G whenever there network owner King Street Wireless starts building it.
Switched to Sprint for the faster speeds otherwise they do work good in the middle of nowhere.

Yes the code ##3282# definitely only works on Sprint firmware which is a clusterf*ck of CDMA/WiMax/LTE mess. lol
It's one of the last carriers in the US (and MetroPCS) where you have to call them every time you want to move your sim card to another phone, because they have to "update" your MEID/IMEI in their network.
Oh, and that LTE priority band settings only applies to Sprint sim cards, as soon as you change it to another carrier, those settings are not being utilized at all.
