I'm so confused as to which nexus to pick. I like the screensize of the 5x but the specs on 6p are better. I want a high end phone but at the same time i don't want a phablet. What are you guys going for?
If you do not consider screen size when deciding which model to get you will be disappointed in the long run.

I can't decide either. I prefer IPS LCD displays rather than AMOLED displays because the exaggerated colors on AMOLED displays!
In the other hand 6p has more battery capacity with lower screen size than N6! And a nice metal design! I don't care that much about their cpu/gpu or ram specifications.
Other thing is storage size, I need more than 32gb. I prefer 64gb with atleast a reasonable price.
I am going with the 5x if it has a notification LED. Otherwise I will stick with my 2013 Nexus 5 for another year. I need a device with a robust notification system and nothing beats a customizable light for that. I can tell from across a room what notification my phone has and at work that is priceless as I cannot continually be using my phone. The ambient display of the nexus 6 is not good enough. The notifications time out/turn off after a period of time and aren't customizable in any way.
The 6P is too big for me. It may as well be a Note or whatever.
Add an option for neither. I think you'll be surprised on how many people will pass on these phones.
N5X - too little RAM, too small battery, a bit pricey for what it offers.
N6P - a phablet that many people don't want to deal with the size of, SD810 processor known for overheating and throttling, destroying performance. Very fair price for 32GB version, although we can put that down to the fact it's carrying specs which most flagships have had for the last 6-8mths, so you're really buying in the middle of a generation-cycle.
I was originally going to go for the N5X to replace my N5, but the next phone I buy has to have GREAT battery life. It doesn't matter to me what Google has done with their new 'Doze' feature to extend standby time, this N5X will not get more than 3hrs SOT, guaranteed. So it's a 'No' from me. Guess I'll keep waiting/looking :-/

I think you're pretty spot on here. I was hoping for a spec bump on the 5X as a excuse to Swappa out the M9 for a N5X, however it would basically be a spec downgrade at this point, or a spec match on the 6P, in which case, probably not worth the hassle. Guess I'll just be waiting until the next round of phones in Spring 2016!
Also, for the record, I've had very little issue with the 810's performance on the M9. There was a large update that worked towards mitigating some of the throttling, and the phone still has plenty of juice while warm. I wouldn't consider it a poor chip by any means, and do not let this dissuade you if you are set on a 6P!
I ditched my Nexus 6 due to its AMOLED display. My eyes were burning from its over-saturated colors.
But I now i want to go with 6P. I already spent quite a time with LG's N4 and N5. Huawei's turn.

It has been confirmed that the 5X has an LED notification light, this was a big concern of mine too.
I really don't want a 6 inch (or 5.7) phone. i have the GS5 right now and still think it's too big. I have yet to own a nexus phone so i'm thinking purely based on screen size that i'll go with the 5X. Not too concerned about 2GB of ram, and i think the 808 will do just fine with vanilla M. I am bummed about no wireless charging, i added it to the GS5 even though it made the back quite bigger, but USB C will be nice.
I would've gone with the 5 if it had a 64GB and 3GB ram option.
The battery I think is fine since my current 5.7 QHD Moto X as a 3000Mah battery which gets bout 4hrs SOT so I think a 2700 on a 5.2" display should be fine.
The storage and ram really bothered me and it's shame for N5 users since it' barely an upgrade.
I did go with the 6P,I worry about the 810 since I also got a chance to use the OPT and wasn't impressed
I went with the 5X 16 gig. I stream everything (thanks Verizon unlimited) and really don't use a ton of apps. All my photos get instantly backed up to Google Photos so I can just delete them from my phone whenever.
Not even remotely worried about performance and any phone has a better camera than my Moto X 2013 that I use now. If I want really nice pics I'll bring my Sony point and shoot along.
I'm a short dude. I have no idea how I'd fit the 6P in my jeans pocket this winter. And I don't even wear skinny jeans.
The only thing I'm bummed about is the lack of cables that come with the phone. No C to A cable included AND the wall charger cable isn't detachable. Weak.
I really, really wanted to want the 5X. I love my Nexus 4. I like the LG company. But with $80 getting me another GB of faster ram, metal build, larger battery, faster charging, and (the big one) better graphics, I had to go with the 6P.
I wanted something N4/iphone 6 size though. If it's too large for me I will return it.
I went with 5X 16g as well. I have no need for extra space, I usually move my photo and video to NAS. As far as for music, I stream them online. LG is the company I trust since N4 to my current N5. A Chinese run company? I don't know??? Time will change my mind.
I went with the 5X because I currently have an LG G3 (which is almost the exact same size despite having a larger screen) and the screen size is at the limits of what I can use one-handed. The monstrous size of the 6P is just too big for me.
this is my first High end phone; i took the 5X 16Gio!
I took it because I thought is was more ecological than buying a Android phone, a Ubuntu phone and a FirefoxOS phone... The N5 couls run all these OS, I really hope the N5X does!
I am quite disappointed though, I thought it was a 3.1 USB port and thus could accept a keyboard and a screen...
Of course most of us want the highest spec'd device, that's normal. I want a more compact size phone (not phablet sized) and for it to perform the way I want (no matter what the specs are) with the latest greatest stock Google software updates. I want a good phone camera. I believe the 5X is the best choice. The 5X is going to scream
I don't watch movies listen to music or play games on my phone so the 16g 5x is plenty for me but I did order the 32g blue ice
One factor to consider in the US is that the 6P supports LTE band 30 whereas the 5X does not. LTE 30 is a new band supported by AT&T.

yeah i ended up ordering the 5x but it is tough to cough up the money for it considering you get so much more phone in the 6p for a little bit more money, keeping in mind that the two are from completely different kinds of companies.
100% of my decision came down to size. I just dont think there is ever a need for a phablet.
I do wish the quick charge was better (i hear that the 6p quick charges much more quickly)
amoled makes more sense for ambient display which is a must for me coming from a moto x dev
and that 240fps video of the hummingbird is delicious
all the other stuff about storage is a non issue. This is what cloud services are for
and 2gb ram should be plenty. If more performance is needed, this needs to be done on the software side. its like worrying about horsepower in a car and ignoring weight.
I chose the nexus 5x. It was what we N5 users wanted on the first place. Just an updated N5, we kept on saying that we just need a better camera, and better battery and of course updated specs(but not the best), for only a little bit higher than the price of the original N5. If anything, google actually listened to their customers.
I think google screwed themselves over for releasing two phones at the same time, giving customers too many options creates anguish.
Question, if google only released N5x and you had no knowledge about 6p, would you still have your doubts?

Perhaps not the best phone at everything but the best at its price point at the moment imho.
Depends really what is important to you.
I was trying to decide between this and S7 edge. The latter is a slightly better phone (smaller footprint, better screen and camera, bigger battery, higher cool factor, wireless charging, waterproofness...) and if it was £50 more than Op3 I would have gone for it. But I could not justify the £200 difference and went for the Op3.
And I have no regrets whatsoever. The phone feels a lot more premium that I had expected, it is blazing fast, the batter is also quite good and I have no issues with the screen at all. It is by far the best phone I have ever owned and I generally switch phones every six to eight months so have tried a few.
There is a 15 day money back guarantee so I recommend that you go for it and if you don't like it you can always return it. I suspect that will not be the case though...

Can't speak for anyone else but my favorite things about this phone are:
1) Quick charging. With the Dash charger is very quick, inline with what's advertised. I've charged the phone on a plane using a DC charger and it was fast as well.
2) The finger print reader is super fast.
3) Overall the phone feels fast, much faster than my old Moto X Pure.
Things I don't like:
1) Screen is too dim using adaptive brightness.
2) Sound is weak compared to the Moto X Pure.
the samsung S7/e definitely has better specs, but even if it had a clean stock version of Android (which it definitely does not, TouchWiz sucks), the OP3 is a far more cost effective phone.
A better comparison since now it's almost the same price is the Nexus 6P ($404 on Amazon Prime Day (64GB) for example, and 32GB model has been $380 several times now).
Main differences between these two is:
- QHD vs 1080p (you won't notice unless you do VR)
- OP3 has an alert slider (and disables Automatic DND rules) vs N6P has normal DND mode w/ automatic rules etc
- Camera is better on Nexus 6P (unnoticeable during the day, but during low light photos you can tell)
- Camera App is MUCH faster on OP3 - both at launch and taking photos
- OP3 is smoother/faster & keeps more apps in RAM
- Fingerprint Sensor on front vs on back (both incredibly fast, location is a preference)
- OP3 has optional Capacitive buttons vs N6P has only software buttons
- N6P has Slightly bigger screen (5.7" vs 5.5") and is slightly (20g) heavier - but both are equally thin
- Stock Android M (gets faster updates) vs Oxygen OS (slightly slower updates but has more customization features)
i enjoyed this phone, wanted to keep it, but my 6P takes slightly better pictures. I have kids which i like to photograph whenever i get a chance and it's really important they look best. Its not like the camera is bad or anything, i loved it, in fact. Just think i would stick to my Nexus for now. I also want to try the Axon 7 and need to make the $ back for it lol. However, it was tough to make that decision yesterday
The cons for me;
- no Do not Disturb software. Have to use the slider button. It tends to override 3rd party apps too. May have found one working, but reliability is questionable
- no automated night mode, weak screen dimming software. Again have to use 3rd party, Lux, but having some problem with that app (slows down notification panel)
- I was on a cheap chinese phone last year, but it had a 4000mah battery. Kind of hard to get back to a flimsy 3000mah. Had to install xposed, greenify, Forcedoze, Amplify, trying to boost it to have a decent battery. I couldn't care less about Dash Charge. I charge my phone once a day, and that's while I sleep. I don't carry the Dash charger with me. That is not practical and I hope the people at 1+ and other companies stop ****ing around with the battery size. Device is really light. Really could have used better battery.
- what a poor support. Still couldn't get a refund on the case and tempered glass they had to cancel due to out-of-stock (but still charged me). Ticket is still open going back and forth. Just because of that I will think twice before ordering directly from them.
- I am not a fan of sound coming out from the bottom of the phone. I like ZTE Axon 7 take on stereo sound.
pros
- dev friendly, so roms will most likely fix most software issues
- seems pretty solid. No freeze/crash/random reboots so far, and the only slow downs I experienced in the UI are caused by some compatibility issue I have with Lux permanent notification.
- I like that the home button is capacitive. Won't break due to over use (happened on my last phone)
- providing I find a stable and bug-limited rom, best android phone I owned

You certainly will notice the difference of the Op3's Pen Tile 1080p Amoled display compared with a QuadHD Amoled, even in normal use. That's in direct comparison. Use the Op3 for a while and you likely forget.
As to value, the OP3 is clearly better value than £600 flagships but for me, the benefits the S7(E) has are worth the extra. (I cycle a lot and the water resistance is incredibly useful as is the bright screen).
If the above is not too important I'd thoroughly recommend the OnePlus.
(Still, mine is provisionally sold and soon on its way to its new and probably happy owner).
The previous comments all pretty much sum up what I would have to add. Highly recommend the phone...it's worth every penny of the $399 and then some. Very satisfied with my purchase.
I'm going to make one observation about the screen though. 95% of the time, I can't discern a difference between the OP3's 1080p screen and my old Nexus 6 1440p screen. That 5% kicks in when I want to view photos that I've snapped on the phone. Zooming in to those photos creates a considerable loss in detail. This was not the case with my Nexus 6. Zooming into photos retained so much detail and clarity, even though the N6 camera is not as good as the OP3 camera.
My two cents!
Op3 have some flaws,but not everyone experiencing,which are mostly software related which can be fixed with updates ... But it doesn't mean a flawed phone, rather it is best phone on which money can be spent without too much thinking.
By the way every phone whether it cost some penny or our whole arm and leg, has some flaws , that doesn't mean phone is not good.
Therefore you have read several review blog,device specific sections here on xda which will help you to know what are most common problems with particular phone.If these problems are to severe that software update or dev community can't fix then you have to make careful decision before purchase.

About One plus 3 - It is very strong device,its perfomance is strong in every department,and is above the money you pay .
and that Dash Charge its awesome, ridiculously fast ,70 minutes and is goes from zero to hero
For me it's all about development. This device is more stable, faster and nicer than my previous g3. S7 is fine phone and even tw improve a lot, but on open phone, there are unlimited possibilities, on s7 you have just one.

I would agree that side-by-side you can tell a difference, but it's irrelevant for day to day use.
Also, far more noticeable is the difference in both DPI, and in colors (unless you enable sRGB mode on both phones).
No dash charging on custom ROMs sucks, but OP should be releasing source code for this later this month right?

I can't speak for other countries, I live in The Netherlands for the record.
Now, the big plus for me is the price.
The oneplus 3 only costed me € 399,-
If I were to look for other flagships, I would look at these prices
Galaxy S7 : € 650,- on average
Nexus 6P : € 530,- on average
LG G5 : € 550,- on average
Now my last phone was a 2013 Nexus 5 and honestly I didn't feel that upgrading to a 5X was worth it.
But then if i look at other flagships, prices around here seem to rise exponentially.
Yes, ofc I think that an S7 is a great phone, but € 250,- better on average? (Considering all the bloatware you get with it, Its really not worth that much more. Also no support for development really with locked bootloaders.)
Pro's
- Clean version of android with more features
- No bloatware
- 6GB of RAM (For people who say RAM doesn't matter, try using a Nexus 9 Tablet with its 2GB of memory with a 64-bit OS. You will want to throw the thing out of your window before the end of the day.)
- price to value
- great fingerprint scanner
Cons
- only 1 place where you can buy it (online)
- doesn't have all the features like an S7 has (water resistant etc. )
- Slower updates compared to a Nexus device
- No option to use a schedule for "Do Not Disturb", instead you have a slider. (I like the slider but why the **** did they take out the damn scheduler. I like my downtime every night from 23:00 till around 07:00, Now I have to do it manually.)
Let me just add bad camera quality on custom ROMs.
Hopefully Oneplus will release the camera apk

I know that there is a lot of similar threads, but I read it and still don't know what should I do.
Is is worth to move? I believe that there is a lot of people which moved from N5 to N5X.
In daily using is there any difference in smooth and performance?

To be honest with you, it's even a downgrade.
I moved from N5 to Xiaomi Mi4C and then to N5X (because I love to tinker around) and if the screen on my old Nexus 5 wouldn't be broken, I would go back to the Nexus 5 without hesitating and I would look forward to it.
1. The camera is utterly crap if you want to make close-up pictures, otherwise it's just okay.
2. The cpu is janky, it lags here and there even with encryption disabled and even with custom kernel and custom roms. I would often like to smash the phone against the wall because it takes so long to do basic tasks...
3. The cpu, it gets so hot I could burn my skin with it from time to time (hotspot + using your phone? Burn your fingers...). Even browsing and listening to music seems to stress the cpu that much that it heats up extremely. Custom kernel and custom rom do indeed improve it a bit, but the problem is still there and noticeable
4. The sound is really quiet/silent and as soon as you turn the volume up it gets distorted. Listening to music with just the phones speakers is a huge pain.
5. The battery life is miserable, okay compared to the N5 it's at least not worse and it will get better with Android N as I already tested out for a week.
Honestly, keep your N5 and wait until they release the new ones, but don't buy the N5X. You will be so disappointed by its performance.
You can get Android N on the N5 without any big problems via custom rom which will be probably released shortly after the final Android N version is released . It's no problem to flash it to the N5 and you won't loose warranty (which I guess is already over)
PS; Nobody has to tell me my N5X may be defective, the 3 workmates who bought the N5X as well are complaining constantly about those points as well.

Definitely agree on most of your points as a 5x owner. But i never had problems with my cpu like you do. My phone is heavily filled with apps and stuff and it doesn't lag at all. Sometimes it's a bit jerky here and there but that's it. And on point 3. nearly all the smartphones have that issue it's the build material that makes it feel so hot. if you take for example a samsung phone with the same cpu but their build quality with the glass and metal it will feel far less hot. but yeah wait for the new nexus!
It's a noticeable upgrade in just about every way from a N5 and worth the upgrade IMO.
After 8 months I've seen no performance issues with my 5x and the graphics performance (gaming) is 2x higher especially over long gaming runs as the graphical performance doesn't hit rock bottom like it did with the N5 after warming up.
The camera is top notch. Same camera as the Nexus 6p, you'll see only praise for it around the internet. No other phone camera comes close at this price range.
Heat generation is actually a huge improvement over the N5. The N5 could see skin temperatures up to 10C higher than the 5x, so if people think their 5x gets hot then they haven't ever used a N5. Here's an exert from one of the few review sites that tests for thermals, skin temperature specifically.
With idle temperatures of just over 25 °C, the Nexus 5X hardly heats up noticeably in idle mode. The handset is also unexpectedly cool under load despite the relatively strong SoC. The hottest spot measured reaches just 37.4 °C here - other premium smartphones often surpass 40 °C. The review sample can even shine with the lowest rates compared with its rivals.

Size difference, the bigger screen is nice and even noticeable but the 5x is a lot taller than it needs to be so the N5 would win in total size and screen to bezel ratio.
External speaker. It sounds about the same but it gets 1 or 2 steps louder and facing forward is an improvement.
Back cover discolouration. My carbon black seems to get permanent smudges that can be seen under certain lighting conditions.

You may call that jerky, we call it laggy, janky whatever. But you do agree it's not as fluid as the N5? Or could you even ever compare the N5 to the N5X? It is by no means fluid and for me not an acceptable performance. My N5 runs rounds around the N5X when it's not about gaming. And exactly that is my point. Why is the N5 in basic tasks (Menu, browsing, scrolling, animations) faster than the N5X? I didn't expect a downgrade in everyday task performance and it hit me hard in the disappointment section.

It's just an upgrade if you are constantly playing games (performance wise). In the most basic tasks the N5 crushes the N5X performance. But the thread starter can decide that himself if he buys the N5X and I would really like to hear his opinion then after comparing the two devices

Are you kidding? I agree the camera is better than the one found in N5 but my Mi4C took way better pictures than the N5X and several levels better when capturing some close distance shots (really close distance) and you know what? The Mi4C is cheaper.
I don't want to sound like the camera is bad in every aspect, but top notch is fanboy talk...
Actually whenever I wanted to take a close distance picture with an N5X I always ended up with the picture being blurred to the point I couldn't even recognize what should be on the picture :crying:.
Some people also say the Nexus 9 is a very good tablet whereas my mate and I who bought the devices together would call it the worst nexus product until now
Now let me mention some things I like about the N5X because I don't totally hate the device and I'm just so disappointed that the performance is worse than on the N5 in almost every situation.
- Screen: I already got several compliments that the screen is well calibrated and looks pretty good.
- USB C: It's positive as well as negative. I like the new connector, but all of my friends who don't have it hate it because they can't use my charger nor my cable
- Front facing speakers (just don't turn the volume up too much, otherwise the sound gets ****ty)
- Quick Charging: Absolutely love that! Helped me out in many situations where I just needed like 20-30% more charge to get through the day or the night.
- Screen gets activated when you lift the phone from the desk or out of your pocket, pretty convenient
- You'll maybe be able to access the notification tray and quick settings panel with the fingerprint scanner in Android N

I don't know if I would go that far. I feel like with my N5, I had to choose between a smooth experience or battery life. With the N5X it that isn't so much the case. That being said, there are times where this phone will lag on even the most simplest of tasks with no explanation or reason. It's beyond frustrating. At this point you're better off waiting for the new Nexus phones to come out and snagging one of those instead.
I would (am) wait(ing). I wouldn't even replace my N5, but it's showing problems with modem and gps. It's been suggested that our N5X is defective because of the jerky/lagging touch responsiveness. When it's placed next to the N5, the color calibration seems off. N5 has much whiter whites and just appears crisper than what I see on the 5X. The 5X belongs to hubby who doesn't care about the off-white tint, but he really dislikes the fact that touches have to be repeated even 3 times before they respond. I would try a custom kernel, but he doesn't want me messing with his phone. He doesn't use his phone for much. If the new phones don't meet my needs/wants, I'll get a 6P. It's a little big but haven't seen any other problems with the one we have.

I would (am) wait(ing). I wouldn't even replace my N5, but it's showing problems with modem and gps. It's been suggested that our N5X is defective because of the jerky/lagging touch responsiveness. When it's placed next to the N5, the color calibration seems off. N5 has much whiter whites and just appears crisper than what I see on the 5X. The 5X belongs to hubby who doesn't care about the off-white tint, but he really dislikes the fact that touches have to be repeated even 3 times before they respond. I would try a custom kernel, but he doesn't want me messing with his phone. He doesn't use his phone for much. If the new phones don't meet my needs/wants, I'll get a 6P. It's a little big but haven't seen any other problems with the one we have.

What you call "whiter white" is blue white and actually shows a bad calibration, just saying. If you prefer such color pallete then better go for samsung. Also there is an option in dev settings to "fix" it, though i have it disabled. No difference (unless you compare) in the day, while the blue white hurts my eyes in the night
Back to topic, stock 5x is a bit laggy but EX kernel with ghostpepper fixed that for me.
Battery is ok, similar to my G2 and people did not whine about that phone so i dont know why everyone is pissed with 5x
If someone (creambyemute ) believes that the camera is bad, then should get a eye surgery appointment soon. Just kidding, but you should tap your screen to focus at that distance/objec. If the blur persists just focus on something else and then back at your target
5x has great well-light photos, good low light ones, though no stabilizer so videos are shaky
All that being said new nexus phones should not be too far, so you might as well wait for them
For all the people complaining about daily performance... Just flash PA rom. Done. Phone is smooth now.

With the new Nexus phones coming out soon, I wouldn't upgrade to the 5X if I were you. I got my 5X when it first came out and I had a Nexus 5 before.
There are some improvements but nothing major despite a 2-yr gap. Better camera, better battery, better screen, but laggy and slow sometimes. I was kind of disappointed when I first got my 5X.

I know all the commentary about the color palette/calibration/preference/true colors arguments which makes it a little difficult to determine if, in fact, one actually has a defective screen (as I had on my first N7 FLO which looked worse than my then current N7). I prefer the color tones on my N5. However, I did change to cool temperature option on the 5x, and I think it's more to my preference. I do like the amoled display on the 6P and think the samoled's are all right. It was big change from Galaxy Nexus to N4. Ultimately, it's all about the point you bring up (blue white hurts my eyes in the night). No two people see anything exactly the same way so all we can do is get what works for us. Actually, I prefer the displays on the ios devices, that and battery life, but that's it.
The pictures were taken with the N9 which no one can argue has a great camera; however, it shows the differences. One can also see that the 5x presents sharper images on the screen. I will say that I thought the 5 showed clearer text than the pics show. I'm sure someone (anyone) could have taken betters shots. The left pic is warmer display; the right is cooler.

Thus why i said that sammy phones are probably more in your alley, they also have a neutral color option if you feel like it too.
My friends like samsung so i have seen few of their phones and amoled is not really my cup, stunning colors but you can take picture of a bulb light room and it will be chock full of orange while the same picture on other phones looks white/yellow.
I heard that the s7 has not such aggressive saturation, but until i can meet with my friend to check his s7 edge i cant say for sure. I will update when that happens if you want

Are you kidding? I agree the camera is better than the one found in N5 but my Mi4C took way better pictures than the N5X and several levels better when capturing some close distance shots (really close distance) and you know what? The Mi4C is cheaper.
I don't want to sound like the camera is bad in every aspect, but top notch is fanboy talk...
Actually whenever I wanted to take a close distance picture with an N5X I always ended up with the picture being blurred to the point I couldn't even recognize what should be on the picture :crying:.
Some people also say the Nexus 9 is a very good tablet whereas my mate and I who bought the devices together would call it the worst nexus product until now
Now let me mention some things I like about the N5X because I don't totally hate the device and I'm just so disappointed that the performance is worse than on the N5 in almost every situation.
- Screen: I already got several compliments that the screen is well calibrated and looks pretty good.
- USB C: It's positive as well as negative. I like the new connector, but all of my friends who don't have it hate it because they can't use my charger nor my cable
- Front facing speakers (just don't turn the volume up too much, otherwise the sound gets ****ty)
- Quick Charging: Absolutely love that! Helped me out in many situations where I just needed like 20-30% more charge to get through the day or the night.
- Screen gets activated when you lift the phone from the desk or out of your pocket, pretty convenient
- You'll maybe be able to access the notification tray and quick settings panel with the fingerprint scanner in Android N

I've had zero performance issues with my 5x since I bought it 9 months ago. There hasn't been a single instance where I've found it to be slower than my N5, and multiple instances of it being faster such as connection speeds, gaming performance and loading the camera. Storage speeds are also much faster than the N5 even with encryption enabled on the 5x and disabled on the N5 (less secure).
The camera on the 6p and 5x (same camera) was well regarded as one of the best cell phone cameras until this years devices started rolling out. Details with HDR+ are insane, low light performance is out of this world, and the pictures come out fast and snappy with the camera loaded and capturing scenes within 2-3 seconds from being locked. Most importantly: everything you take a picture of looks like it does in real life with your eyes.
It can't be a fanboy comment when every review of the camera on the 5x and 6p agrees: it is absolutely top notch.
It sucks that you haven't experience the 5x to its fullest, I'm not sure if you have a defective 5x or possibly are causing the issues with your 3rd party software but your experience is not typical.
My friend has recently acquired a Nexus 5x about 2 weeks ago and so far has had the same experience myself. Snappy, smooth, and the best phone at this price range by a large margin.

Not in my experience and I've owned the 5x since launch day and a N5 since its launch day as well.
I made the swap a month ago when Carphone Warehouse in the UK were clearing stock for £130 and don't regret it at all. Feels exactly like you would expect a two year newer N5 to feel, nothing earth shattering, just slicker all round. Put the Nougat DP5 straight on it which obviously helps but only downside for me is no wireless charging as mine lived on a wireless deskstand all day at the office but the quick charging and better battery life make up for it... just have to remember to plug it in for a bit in the evening.
Wasn't keen on how light it is but I always use a case and once that was on all was good. Solid recommendation for the Supcase if you get one, cheap, top quality and once you slit the buttons all is good.
I wouldn't have been looking if it wasn't so cheap or the N5 battery was going but very glad I did and have a got a much more up to date phone for a lot less than half the price of one of the new Nexi when they come out. I stuck a new battery in the N5 and now my youngest is even happier than I am.
Regarding the N5X camera discussion here....
Macro pictures are not important to me. I don't need close-up pictures.
In normal use, the camera is spectacular. I recently went on a trip to Italy with a real camera and, honestly, I didn't even use it. The N5X camera has a wide scope, high quality, and great color reproduction. It's the same camera as that on the N6P, same exact camera; the only difference is not EIS but that can be fixed if rooted (it's disabled by default to make N6P more premium).

I had the N5 previously. If there was ONE thing I hated about the N5 is that pictures took 2-5 seconds to get taken after you press the button.
While on the 5X, it is practically instantaneous.

Even at the same price I'd still recommend the OnePlus 3. It's more future proof in terms of specs and currently has one of the biggest communities of developers actively working on it. And even if you do decide to stick with OxygenOS, it's pretty damn close to stock Android anyways.

ofc the only benefit of buying a nexus device is that google provides new android version half a year before any other brand and all other devices must wait till source gets released. but other than that the hardware is not good enough. if you are not into high performance games and want allways newest android version first then go for nexus. but you get better hardware for better cost if you go for oneplus ( buy oneplus3 t)

I have both. There are a few things that may sway a decision. The 6P has nougat source and the available 7.X ROMs reflect that. This isn't a shot at anyone developing here, they just don't have it, or even a stock base to work with. If you like back fingerprint scanners you might lean toward the Nexus, if you're like me and don't that would favor the 3. Updates favor the 6 as mentioned already. The 3 is easier to handle without the massive bezels. The speakerphone through the 6 is very loud if need be and can be easily heard over background noise like a TV. In that regard the 3 is not bad at all but is outgunned by the 6 speakers.
For myself I was tired of keeping up two phones and wanted to move to a dual SIM. That combined with the fact that after several backside fingerprint scanners I'm starting to hate them the move was an easy one to make. I don't miss the 6P, it was and is a great device but the 3 is punching well above its cost.

Dude you can be a fanboy but don't lie... The 6P has a better camera, screen with dual front facing speakers and that's about it. The OnePlus 3 trump's it in battery life, it destroys it in absolute performance and is much quicker, has much more RAM that can be used without the processor overheating (S810 overheats like crazy, if someone says otherwise, they do not know what they are talking about). The OP3 doesn't snap in half like a cookie when bent, not to mention the fact that the rear glass over the camera cracks extremely easily. The fingerprint scanner is WAY faster on the OP3 Than the 6P. Camera in daylight is better but low light the 6P Is better, but the difference is surprisingly low. For OP, if you are any sort of power user at all and you do a lot of multi tasking or gaming for example, you will have to get the OP3 as the 6P slows down massive as the CPU goes from using the A57 core at 2.0ghz to not being able to use them and going to the garbage A53 cores to do the task which lead to lag and stutter. Not to mention when browsing the 6P is locked to the A53 cores because it'd overheat otherwise and because of this browsing is super slow. Last but not least, the OP3 beats it in audio quality outputted from the headphone jack, it's louder and has wider soundstage while sounding more crisp (you can really notice it in the base) and clean

Personal preference really if updates matter to you go for the 6P if not will not be disappointed by the OP3
I had a 6P and switched to the Oneplus 3. I was sick of carrying an iPhone 6s for work and a 6P for my personal line. The dual sim capability is incredibly convenient but I would imagine not something that most people end up needing. Other than that here are my thoughts:
Speakers: 6P. If only for the placement. Maybe I am holding it wrong but I always seem to cover up my speaker when holding the phone in landscape mode. It sounds just fine otherwise. Most of the time I use earbuds anyway.
Camera: Tie. No real world difference for me. Both are great.
Fingerprint Sensor: OP3. Location is better when it's sitting on my desk, screen side up. It is also much faster than the 6P.
Buttons: OP3. I HATED the volume rocker location on the 6P. I was constantly changing volume when holding the phone in portrait mode and typing or whatever. This really annoyed the sh!t out of me. Also having the volume buttons on the opposite side of of the power button is better in my opinion. The notification slider is convenient, too.
Signal Strength: OP3 easily. I have a T-Mobile sim in sim1 and Verizon in sim2. The reception on T-Mobile sim is certainly better on the OP3. Not the case with the Verizon sim because of band compatability.
Feel: OP3. This thing feels more premium than the 6P...if that matters to you. It's also easier to hold.
Software: 6P. For the speed and guarantee of updates but OP3 Nougat will make this a tie. Nova Launcher though. And I don't care for rooting and ROMs anymore.
Screen: 6P? Yes it's more clear but really the OP3 screen is all I need in terms of size and resolutionw. One thing the 6P has going for it though is a totally flat screen. This makes screen protectors easier to apply without the ring around the edges.
Battery: OP3. Probably due to screen size and resolution. Also probably due to the reception being better. And Dash Charging is faster than Rapid Charging on the Nexus.

Hey guys im looking for a new phone which isn't heavy on the budget but still delivers (currently using Nexus 5x) and im deciding between the HTC 10 and GS S7 Edge , the 10 is brand new 270 pounds and the S7 Edge is refurbished 300 pounds . I would like to hear your opinions and is it worth buying in late 2017 .
Are you getting an Exynos GS7 or a Snapdragon one? If I recall correctly, only the Exynos model has lots of development because the Snapdragon models are locked down. I assume you care since you're asking on XDA.
Other than that, what else is important to you? Would you prefer a more compact phone or a larger one? Is waterproofness necessary for you? I hate extreme curved screens but you might like it.
For me, the HTC 10 is still a great phone in 2017. We're definitely getting Oreo and the only real lacking point is waterproofness (which isn't even important to everyone). It's fast, has a good camera, the battery life is good and development has been good.

The Exynos model , waterproofness isn't a necessary for me , im looking for a better performance and battery life and yes i do like to tinker with my phones i've moded my nexus with root , kernel , thermal optimizations and so on . What kind of screen on time do you get ? My nexus gets me 3 hours of screen on time max with a total time off charger 7-8 hours im down to 10 % , i consider my use as a heavy one because i like to play games listen to music on spotify and chat .
If battery life is your most important factor (performance won't be that far apart overall) then the Edge will probably do better since it's a larger phone (and hence a larger battery).
The HTC 10 is competent for a 2016 flagship but nothing extraordinary. When I'm playing games, I get between 4-5 hours of SOT for example. You'll find that 4-5 hours SOT is what most people report for their SOTs under heavy use.

Okay thanks for your time you gave me valuable information and now its up to me setting my priorities in deciding which one to buy.
I don't know about others, but the HTC 10 has been a pretty amazing phone for me. The size is just perfect, the audio is amazing, and the software, even if a little stale, is fast and smooth.
My only problem with it is the battery. My battery life has been horrible ever since the Nougat Update, and after sending it to the service, I'm certain that this is a software issue. I hope that Oreo will fix this issue though.
If you rely on battery as heavy gamer/user don't look at this phone, drainage is very fast just with medium use, heavy kills it faster. S7 has more endurance
I recently bought a HTC 10. I was thinking of getting an S7 but I opted for the HTC 10 for things that I like, such as, 3.5mm jack at the top of the device, metal body, volume keys and power on the right hand side and type c usb 3.1 (more for the future).
A key reason for the HTC 10 are the custom roms that are currently available on the AOSP side. In terms of manufacturer stock android, HTC Sense isn't too bad. Although I do rock a custom rom (AICP to be precise) I do miss HTC's boomsound, HTC camera and power saving.
I have both the 10 and the Pixel 1 (5 inch). I've used both a lot - concentrating on the 10 for a good half a year until I just gave up. Although the 10's Android is nearly identical to AOSP, the fact that HTC doesn't care about decimal updates (no 7.1) - there are particular parts of the upgrade to 7.1 on the Pixel which would fix some of the annoyances I've found with 7.0 on the 10 - and that the software on the Pixel works so well that I prefer to just modify it with some root apps than run a custom ROM anymore, I would go for anything but the 10. Also, my wife and I had a horrible experience having her phone replaced under their non-warranty 1st year Uh Oh Prorection deal.
I also really don't like that with polarized sunglasses on, the 10's screen is unviewable in portrait mode. Most manufacturers choose landscape mode for that, and the Pixel screen is only black at odd angles (diagonally).
Now the only thing I use the 10 for is music, and to have a spare just in case.
Which network are you on?
I love my 10 except for whatever nougat has done to the battery life. It's decent but not as good as it was on the previous Android version.
Other than that...the size is good, sound is great, the screen is really good, no bloatware and the available themes give your phone a new feeling when you need it. HTC has also been very good with the security updates.
If you're looking for cases, I'd recommend checking Ali Express. They have a better selection than Amazon.

I love my 10 and all, and I think it was the most remarkable phone of 2016. It was the only real choice for a "robust" phone that you can rely on to not disintegrate if it falls, with all the flagship specs of 2016. The fingerprint sensor is better than the S7E, and the screen colors are better IMO. The camera is great for average use, which is what I can comment on.
That being said, I'd get a Nokia this year. Or better yet, wait for next year's refresh of the Nokia 5 and get it with Oreo and Project Treble. I think this should be any tinkerer's criteria for a phone purchase from here on: PROJECT TREBLE. Phone after phone, I find myself spending my money on a higher resolution screen (1080p is enough), and a faster SOC (any modern SOC will get the job done wonderfully), just so that I can buy into the update-receiving club of an OEM. With Project Treble, I can give up this "forced-upgrade" for the sake of updates, and rest assured that I'll always have the latest version of Android running, either with OEM support or with XDA support.

Beware the hidden issue with these phones is that they have 4gb of ram and 3.6-3.8 usable. Heavier multi tasking between some apps for example, chrome, spotify, fb messenger, and your choice of texting apps does not go well. I used to have the one plus 3 and it handled that multi tasking like a champion. If you could I would recommend the one plus 3 it can get 6-8 hours sot with the right kernels and roms. You also dont have to deal with touch wiz. Also the one plus 3 has the same 3000 mah battery htc has I'm not sure what the s7 has. But I bet you couldnt get 8 hours sot on it lol
Just my two cents, but I like my 10 a lot. I do run a custom ROM on it, and bought the Sprint version, which can be unlocked to use on any network except for VZ. You can also unlock LTE bands with this phone, so it will work with literally every network that's not on VZ...worldwide.
The screen is probably the best non-(AM)OLED screen that I've used, but I do miss the (AM)OLED from my S5 and Droid Turbo.
The camera does very very well with the modified Google camera by BSG or Arnova8G2, at least in mid to higher lights. In low light you have to turn off ZSL or else it'll be very very dark.
The battery is mediocre. I get about 4 hours of SoT before I feel the need to recharge. That's with fairly heavy use/games.
Build quality is great. Gorilla Glass 3 is just as strong as 5 (just not as thin) but it will scratch on you. There aren't any good glass screen protectors for this phone, so you'll have to tough it out without one or go the flexible screen protector route. Zack from JerryRigEverything named this the most sturdy phone of 2016.
The modding community is great, and other than the OnePlus and a few Samsungs, it's more popular on XDA even than the Pixel. There's two 8.0 ROMs out there and both are very capable daily drivers.
What I want that would make this the perfect phone: OLED screen, bettery battery, better case selection (the imak cowboy case is pretty nice, same with the Nillkin Nature), no low-light photo issues with Google Camera. That's it. Literally, it has everything else I could want.

To the question in the title, I'd answer, "maybe" but the latest Chinese offerings look tempting but I don't know their quality.
To the question in the post (10 vs S7 Edge), that's a different one altogether, so not sure which one you're really asking. I upgraded to the 10 from the Nexus 5 (not the 5X) and found it to be an excellent upgrade in the post-Nexus world. (The Pixel cost too much for my taste and, frankly, it's ugly.)
Prior to the N5, I had the Samsung SIII and loved that phone. The hardware, anyway; I hate TouchWiz and removed it from my SIII and Note 10.1. Between greater bootloader unlock hassle and explosions (and the dishonest handling of those), I avoid Samsung entirely (to include computer hardware and household appliances).
That's my thinking that may give you some ideas to consider. My only issues with the htc 10 are the display quality issue (yellow tint at the bottom) and the temperamental fingerprint scanner. (poor customer service and slow updates but those are normative for all OEMs, sans Google on the latter) Otherwise, it's a solid phone with a superb aesthetic, especially the red one and, at the time, it was deeply discounted by htc.

Add to that a removable battery door, so that the battery may be removed completely. I hate this "glue the phone together" style of manufacturing.
One year on, my battery is weak and the performance is choppy. I just put up with it rather than have to reset it all the time.
But I bought it mainly for the audio performances and it's fantastic in that regard. If you look at it as getting a nice mobile phone and superb DAP in one the price now is a bargain.
I've been with my HTC 10 since May 2016 so that has been 1.5 year and these are my experiences
- Camera is GREAT (snappy - lots of functions - great quality)
- Performance has been as snappy as Pure Android
- Updates aren't so often (official ROMs are still on 7.0 and most probably August Patch lol)
- Battery has been a little bit worsen since Nougat update but I gotten rid of the issue by installing custom kernels and great ROMs you could find here in XDA.
- Device quality is TOP-NOTCH
- Sound quality is STILL ON OF THE BEST TODAY (you could use any fancy or higher impedance headphones on this boy and it sounds LEGIT)

I had the revolutionary HTC one M7, I had the M9 and got the HTC 10 on launch day. I am on T-Mobile but I unlocked the SIM and wrote SuperCID and switched to the unlocked developer version. I am using Magisk systemless root with a bunch of modules and the phone just works... and the music quality is just top notch!

One thing in its defense of gluing, the last THREE Samsung phones I've had where the battery is removable has had battery connection issues. As in, I tap my phone wrong and it restarts.
I also think the HTC 10 has had battery issues where it reports incorrectly.
