How to downgrade from my V450PM from Android 10 back down to Pie 9? - LG V50 ThinQ Guides, News, & Discussion

I OTA updated the new Android 10 and I hate it. Its laggy, the camera app is horrific, and its incredibility buggy.
Is there a simple way to downgrade back to Android Pie? I would really appreciate your help. Thanks.

Yes there is a discussion about it. You need a computer and install sw on it. It's not an easy process just to switch the partition back to Android 9

It's not really simple but I wrote a guide on it somewhere here on xda. First just try a factory reset in a 10 to see if it fixes it and debloat, and I would recommend joining the telegram group which has around 400 members for better support.

Favorite ROM?

Okay so I get my pixel XL tomorrow finally after being stuck with a s7 edge with a locked bootloader for a long time now and I was wondering what everyone's favorite rom was. So tell me what your favorite rom is and why you like it the best, or even if you prefer stock android with root. So far I am leaning towards installing paranoid android. Also if you want to you can give me some tips and tricks, I have not messed with a device with an unlocked bootloader in a couple years so. One last thing too, are the devs making oreo roms for the pixel xl or has everyone moved onto new devices already?
Stock Android
If your device ships with 7.1.2 you can stay on that and have a few rom choices. Go to 8.0 you have twrp and root but no real rom choices. 8.1 gives even fewer choices.
Stock Oreo 8.0 and root seems good enough.
This guide can be helpful.

8.1 Dev preview with root. Great battery and stable. At least for me. Can't go wrong with Paranoid Android 7.1.2 based ROM either. You'll have to look up how to do either
I used Pure Nexus and it was fantastic, but now I'm on stock 8.0 with root and that's good too. I miss a few customization options from PN, but I can wait for it to be updated to Oreo.

Can this guide be use for Dev Prev v8.1?
Especially TWRP and Magisk?
Paranoid Android has a lot of really cool and unique features. I'm on stock though until they release an Oreo release.

There's a different thread for rooting 8.1 using magisk. Thing it uses stock recovery.
Do you think the devs are working on updating paranoid and pure nexus to 8.0 or have they moved onto something new? Right now I'm just running 8.1 with twrp and root. The battery life is unbelievable.

Pixel phones? They are a different beast...

Quick question about unlocking and rooting.

Besides a few apps, why root the 5T? I have rooted every phone I have ever had, but the 5T has most of what I want.
That being said, I am a flashaholic and am having withdrawals. If I do root and flash a custom rom, is EVERYTHING working or are there still issues being worked on?
thanks for any insight.
Same here. There are a few things I would like by rooting but I don't want to loss some things that only cone with oxygen os. Like the super quick face unlock. Hopefully Oreo comes out soon.

I am the same sometimes. I got stock and I am happy for a few weeks but then watching development threads I start to get withdrawals and have to root and ROM again, then I go back to stock and on and on.
LiquidRemix is pretty solid and the main ROM I flash from time to time. Everything works on the latest official builds and the battery is insanely good. The camera suffers from time to time but that is expected as the code/drivers are not openly available. Other than that LR is amazing with excellent dev work and support.

I would like to know if I can get Android 8.0?

I want to know if its possible to flash or install a apk of the new Android OS to the aging Note 5. Now I know official support is over. So I wanted to know if such a feat is possible? Also I do not caire if its as stock as Android 8.0 gets and I lose the rubbish Samsung touch wiz UI. Any help advice or just tell me how its not possible for these reasons be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I feel your pain, my friend. Since we never even received 7.1 we will probably never get 8.0 or 8.1....Samsung is a business that needs to sell new phones. As a consequence, old phones like ours "normally" only get 2 version updates. Ours started with 5.1 was updated to 6.0 and finally to 7.0.

Advice needed on system upgrade for new Pixel 3 XL

Hi ,
Need advice on the best way to upgrade Android version on my new (really new) Pixel 3 XL- still waiting for it.
In the lights of latest news on "EDL Bug" bricking lots of Pixel 3 phones( just search the Internet for last few days ),
I started to doubt if purchasing it was a good idea. So either I return it right away (EBay purchase- 14 days return )
or try to risk it and install Android 10 only and then wait for stable Android 12.... from all of the research it looks like
security update for Android 11 can be the culprit here? Is it possible to jump /omit upgrading to certain versions like jumping
from ver 9 to ver 10 and later straight to ver 12, or does it have to be done in sequence ?
Sorry for a noob question ,,, but until now i was using only IPhone , and now decided to try Pixel devices.
If upgrade HAS to be done in sequence, then risk of Bricking it is too high and I rather return the device , loosing on
shipping only.
Thank you very much,
Lino
Anybody ?....
Please , I will need to make a decision as soon as I receive the new phone!
I am sure that there is a lots of people here, for whom this question is very trivial...
Can I upgrade from Android Pie straight to Android 12, OTA... or should I go in steps..
Thanks. Lino
you can flash the full factory image of android 12 beta, or android 11, whichever you prefer, and google made it easy using the online android flash tool. when using this, you don't need to go in steps whatsoever.

Im running the Scorpian Rom right now. Really do not know whats causing the bricks but im gonna stick to custom roms from here on out.
I'd go with Android 12. Either Beta 4.1, or wait a week or so for the public release. The EDL thing I read is only happening on Android 11, so I think you'll be safe updating to 12.
Ok , thank you all
I think when I receive the phone, I will update OTA to version 10 first , then I wait for official stable version 12
and Sideload it ? Yes? ....Sorry i am totally new to this...
So I have to unlock the bootloader first, do i have to root it ?... like using Majisk ? in order to sideload the stable
version 12 ?
Anybody has a links to good step by step tutorial ? Will appreciate it !
Anyway watching lately lots of you tube videos about unlocking etc,
Will appreciate any general pointers how to go about it, egz. what to do first , second etc.
Thank you, Lino

Question Refresh rate drops after andriod 12

Hello guys
After I updated my a32 4g to android 12
I see that the screen refresh rate drops
The phone becomes so slow, it goes away as I lock and unclock screen or if I open gallery app. I did a factory reset, it didn't help. This problem wasn't there in Android 11. What shall I do?

as @applesucksLmao said. Upgrade to 13. (NOTE ONE UI 5.1 FIRMWARE CANNOT BE DOWNGRADED). one ui 5.1 is very smooth compared to previous updates.

people did report it to be smoother and that they got better battery life. although note it is no. downgradedable you cannot switch back to an older version of fw after the upgrade. so if you have any issues you have to rely on samsung to fix them

I took it to a mobile maintenance shop, he said that he can downgrade it to android 11.
I didn't do it yet. I was just thinking if I do that, Can the mobile stop working?

no. you can easily do it. If your not on one ui 5.1 fw yet you can do it yourself without paying any shop.

please don't upgrade to one ui 5.1, the latest update makes the phone undowngradable to android 11, and also, i made a post on how to use odin that you may want to see. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ts-functions-explained-noob-friendly.4540331/
