Bluetooth games controller for TP2?

I've recently purchased the excellent SmartGear and what with the Touch Pro 2's TV out would like to have myself a little retro action by playing on MegaDrive classics on my TV.
However, this would mean holding the phone, and cable, while playing, which isn't as much fun.
Does anyone know if any bluetooth games controllers work? I've looked and PS3 and Wii controllers don't seem to, but can anyone recommend one at all, or know if the ENR one works http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/review/bt-gamepad-en.shtml
I know that the Broadcomm stack is acausing problems but hope it's not going to ruin this plan.
Thanks

Compatible Bluetooth Gaming Accessories

Dont suppose you nice folks could give us the make/models of any Bluetooth gamepads that you have got working or have found to not work on honeycomb 3.1. I only know the datel one but I'm looking for a more ergonomic PC pad
Thanks in advance
There really aren't any blue tooth gamepads
I would rename the thread to: Compatible Bluetooth Gaming Accessories. You'll probably get more views and get it eventually stickied.
I do remember a bluetoooth gaming pad from Pelican.

Had a bit of a look into it and you're right, all the Bluetooth stuff seems to be for ps3. Fingers crossed Logitech will do a controller aswell as the keyboard and mouse they're about to bring out!
Thanks for the advice

Wonder if anyones tried it with a xoom?

i suppose that would work. Looks kinda awful though.
Yes that's the one. I remember seeing it at Radioshack or Gamestop. Try eBay and see I'm pretty sure there are more. I'm willing to bet eBay has a couple from China.
I found this on eBay. It's a bluetooth DualShock controller. I don't know if it's a knockoff but it could be despite having the PlayStation Logo in the middle.

That's the link for the bid. I would imagine that works. I wish someone on here has tried this before. I want to know if you're able to map all the keys without issues.
I found on amazon the komodo shockwave wireless wii controller.. wonder if this would work...??

It will not work. PS3 controllers require being synced up via USB. On the xoom, it would require that and an app. There is no sync button on PS3 controllers.

Why isn't it possible on Android?
It even works without extra applications on Maemo: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=66704 http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=41693
At least Honeycomb 3.1 should be able to detect it or is there another problem?
this is intresting, would like to use a bt controller on the xoom soon, flirting with that ebay one. Wii looks like the best bet

For bluetooth, it would require an app or script to change the mac address of the bluetooth in your xoom to that of the ps3 controller.
I think you could do that on a PC as a workaround...
i dont understand? i know sometimes you want more buttons or a different grip design, but the wii controller works great for all the 8bit/16bit games i play. at least it gets you going with a BT controller.
http://android.ccpcreations.com/wiicontroller/wc-compatibility
But the Wii controller isn't good to hold for oldschool games (without motion).
There's only two buttons on the wiimote. Wanna play psone games on fpse so need 4 mappable buttons!

Has anybody found one that does work well for cordy
Your best option is the Datel Retro Wireless controller.

Bluetooth controller

Hey,
I'm looking for a Bluetooth/Wireless controller to play and emulate games on my 10.1v.
What's the best solution for now ? PS3, Wii, other ?
I want to be able to play without a wire and with a tool that is frequently updated (for better support). If it's not the right time (maybe some controllers have been announced), I'll wait as well...
Thanks !
I hear good things about phonejoy (http://www.phonejoy.net/product-description.html), however I haven't taken the plunge yet. Seems kind of expensive (after shipping) just for a bluetooth controller.
I did install the xbox usb module a while back and plugged in my xbox controller and that worked pretty good. My only gripe is having to plug in the usb adapter and the huge cord. So I am in the same boat as you. Still looking for the perfect bluetooth controller.
I've got XBOX controller but as you say...the wire is killing it for me. That plus that we have to buy that crappy USB adapator. Don't even know how does the Tab still stand when that port is connected.
What about the wii controller ? Any feedback ?
I use a PS3 wireless controller, works pretty well. You will have to "enable" the driver manually to connect the controller then you can launch your favorite emulator. You can find the driver from mkt place, but you also need to install the software on your PC to re-write the bluetooth mac address. all the buttons, joystick, directional pads, can be assigned to whatever key u want...
google "motioninjoy" for more info on the driver (sorry system wont let me post outside links...)
Thanks.
How would you describe it in terms of responsiveness/ease of use/app support ?
After some more digging, I think this solution works best :
http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/09/sixaxis-controller-android-app-makes-firing-off-hadoukens-easy-a/
There are a couple of vids on youtube demonstrating it, but it will basically take a dualshock bluetooth playstation controller ($20) and work wirelessly.
I haven't tested it out since I don't own the controller. I was about to buy one, when I realized that I spend most of my time playing tower or racing games designed for the tablet, which would not make use of a gamepad.
Thanks a lot. I'd be interested to know where you can get a $20 one too...
I've been using Sixaxis for a while now. It works great with no noticeable lag. I mostly use it for all the emulators. Fortunately I already had a PS3 so I didn't have to buy a new controller.

Moga Controller worth it?

Im thinking about buying this controller to play emulator games on my phone. Just wondering if its worth it or is there something better out there? The only thing is missing is the bumpers how would that affect in playing a psx emulator? Does anyone have this and can tell how good this thing is?.

The idea of having the phone attached directly to the controller is cool. But for the money, you would be better off buying a wireless PS3 controller and connect your phone through bluetooth via this app. At least then you can still use the controller for a PS3 or PC if needed.
Additionally, you can buy this extremely affordable Suction Ball Stand to set your phone on a desk/surface when gaming.
I managed to grab one of the MOGAs when they did their free+shipping Christmas offer. It works well, but I haven't tried it on any emulators yet.
I like it, but it is a questionable value at the $50 price point.. Like the prior reply, a PS3 remote would probably be better, but I couldn't pass up the chance to grab the MOGA for $5.
Google SNES Controller Bluetooth" or similar and bang out an affordable hack!
If you play at more 3rd Gen+ HW like PS1 etc. Maybe not ideal.
It does give you +3 to Nerdery and +2 to OG Rep though.

no support for any emulator or the games at this time but it is being worked on by the developers only games that will work with the moga game controller is the ones in the moga pivot app that syncs with the controller all other games are being coded by the developers to work with the moga, heres a list of games i have that work great
1.Asphalt 7<<<<apk
2.dead trigger
3.dungeon hunter<<<<apk
4.N.O.V.A. 3<<<<apk
5.pacman
6.sonic cd<<<apk
7.TDKR batman dark night rises<<<apk
all these games work great with the moga also via mini hdmi with my flat screen tv also there still other great games like grand theft auto & modern combat 4 wild blood and others soon to come that are being coded to work with the moga game controller also noted battery life not bad:good: i say great controller for on the go and for at home via hdmi with your galaxy S2, i got the moga when it frist came out and still works great.
caught this on engadget today. http://impulsecontroller.com/ Might be something to consider depending on what you're looking for
I was able to grab up a MOGA when they were giving them away, and I have both the official and the unofficial driver app (for emulators) on both my GS2 and Nexus 7 and I have to say that the controller works pretty fantastic both for emulators and for official games. Overall it is a great product that seems well made and manufactures, it connects fast with no issues, and is responsive. It still has L and R shoulder Buttons just no "L2" or "R2" which im guessing is what people refer to as bumpers. One downside for me with the MOGA though, is when playing NES/SNES/PSX emulation most prefer to have a D-Pad rather than be forced to use an analog stick. The MOGA has two nice analog sticks, but I think the lack of a D-pad is a downside on this compact model. A full size MOGA (Edit: http://www.destructoid.com/ces-full-size-moga-pro-controller-announced-for-android-241931.phtml here it is.) which looks more like a PS3 controller is supposed to be released soon as well, so be sure to google that before making a final decision.
For the money though, I agree with a few posts above me. There are pros and cons to both controllers, but If you are using it for mostly emulator gaming, I'd spend the money on a PS3 controller and use that. It'll be more comfortable, have more buttons, and can be set up great for emulators. The moga also works well, don't get me wrong... it's very portable, flat and fits well with your tablet or phone wherever you stash it, but if you don't have to worry about the portability factor then I'd take the PS3 controller over the moga still any time.
Bottom line. It's a great product that does what it says, but I wouldn't have bought one for the price tag if I hadnt gotten it for free in the deal. I would've eventually went PS3 or waited for the full size moga to drop.
I have a Moga controller and its freaking awesome.. Honestly it is more responsive in games than the PS3 controller was.. Not to mention they have alot of games are are optimized for the controller. Also If you download the universal driver the controller will work in unsupported games also.. For example GTA 3 doesn't work with the Moga app, but when you run the universal driver it works great..
Has anybody tried this ion go pad? Would it be compatible with our phone?

"Best" Controller Solution for Android

So, I helped my mom set up the 2600.emu Atari emulator on her tablet and I went ahead and bought it on my phone, too. It works great, but she has more trouble with the on-screen controls than I do, and I find them kind of a pain at best.
I'd like to play the games as more than just a novelty "look what I can do" kind of thing (if I can get it to work, I'd love to get all my old GBA and DS games on here, too - that would be so cool).
I've looked at those press-on joysticks, and they all seem to have so-so reviews.
I'm looking at separate physical controllers, too - like using a Wiimote or PS3 bluetooth controller.
I've searched, but I didn't find a dedicated thread. Just looking for personal experiences and what you've gotten to work or what doesn't work.
It'd be really nice if someone could make a super-simple bluetooth controller that's flat and the size of a slide-out keyboard. That would be perfect and great for casual players like my mom who don't really have room to carry around a PS3 controller all day.
There are a million different bluetooth gamepads and many are great. I believe some company just succesfully funded a kickstarter for a tiny gamepad that can fit on a keychain. Ps3 controllers are my favorite and have more.available.buttons than almost any other gamepad. Wiimotes are nice If your games dont require analog control or many buttons. they are simple to hook up, where the ps3 controller has more steps to it.

It's been a while, but I just wanted to say thanks !
The kickstarter you mentioned was the perfect solution. It's the "iMpulse" controller for anyone interested.
Thanks for the info!!
I'll look for it, because the wiimote solution is handy, but not as useful as it should.
