I recently had the SGS2 & Iphone 4 and couldn't wait to get the Galaxy Nexus. I've had it as my primary phone for nearly 2 weeks now. I get that no phone is perfect, but I must say I did have higher expectations due to all the hype backing it up. I'm thinking of returning this phone back to the store due to the following issues:
Battery Life is horrible
Camera quality is poor
Speakerphone volume is too low (yes, even with Volume+)
Google Music constantly crashes while multitasking
While accessing your voice mail and dial pad is on the screen, proximity sensor doesn't deactivate quick enough before your face presses buttons
There doesn't appear to be a "search" feature in the native Exchange e-mail app
During a phone call, when a text message is received, there is no audible sound or vibration (this should be a no brainer feature to have) - light flow is too buggy
That's about it for now. Now I really hope that these items can be addressed via an OTA update, because quite frankly, that's one of the reasons I went with a Nexus phone.
My battery life is great. A full day of use with no charge.

same here, coming from a galaxy note, battery life sucks. I've had the phone off the charger for 30 min and with 6 min of screen time, its already at 96%.

yep battery life could be better but that's why I have my "slim" 2100mah on the way. I do wonder about the camera though. I am very experienced at photography and even though
I steady all of my shots they still come out grainy and looking like the ISO has been jacked up. I almost feel as if I took better shots with my thunderbolt.

Remember that it doesn't charge to 100%; it's likely that it fell almost immediately to 97-96% right when you unplugged it.
Besides, 30 minutes isn't enough time to give you a real feel for how the battery is going to last you.
I agree on the camera. Even my HTC Legend takes better pictures. Only a tiny bit of movement makes the pictures unusable. Crap! Hope they improve that in future updates.
Everything you listed appears to be solvable via an ICS update from Google, except maybe for the battery life.
The only thing that concerns me on your list is the speakerphone volume. If the speaker itself is fully capable hardware wise, then a software update hopefully should achieve louder audio, unless the speaker is just crap. I use speakerphone a lot so thanks for bringing this to my attention, something I wouldn't have thought to test out in the store.
Everything else on your list is not a big deal, it will get fixed. Thats the benefit of Nexus.
Good point guys. The only other concern I forgot to mention is that when you change the phone's orientation from portrait to landscape (or vice versa), it takes a while before it changes. Sometimes I have to shake the phone (I'm not even kidding) and then right afterwards, when I attempt to change orientation it works just fine. Let's hope a software patch addresses these issues.

Yea, i noticed this as well, the accelerometer is very slow on this phone. The transitions themselves are very fluid, but it does take an exuberant amount of time. Meh, software bugs i guess, it'll get ironed out in the end.

Download Volume+ (by meltus) from the app store and set it to around +8, itll make a world of a difference.
The orientation change isn't a bug, its set at whatever time-lag the development team set it too. If you run a CPU meter in your task bar, the thing doesn't even jump when you rotate. The time-lag is set to a delay time to reduce battery drain for common motions like passing it to a friend or shifting around in bed watching videos. It would be nice to be adjustable, but its set to what it is... like 2-3 seconds. However, I'm sure the orientation code is probably on a low/medium priority thread so some times it could take 3-4 seconds based on background processes. <shrug>
I think orientation speed is nothing to complain about. As long as my home screen swipe without lag and the app drawer opens without gitters, I'm a happy camper!

I read something interesting on another post referring to the LTE Galaxy Nexus. "If you don't get it - don't get it." Those words have echoed in my head as I have been trying to like the GN. Am I deficient in my understanding of the platform and developer orientation. Or is there something fundamentally wrong that I should expect these issues being on the front edge of the 4.0 wave? regardless, my rooted Thunderbolt was awesome! My rooted, unlocked bootloader GN has been somewhat disappointing for many of the reasons mentioned here plus many of the software I used on the Tbolt don't support ICS yet so I lost functionality big time. I am on the verge of assigning my GN to a secondary line and putting my Tbolt back to daily use until GN is solid.
Arent these the types of things one can "assume" will come up when getting a phone like this? It's got a brand new flavor of android. No one troubleshoots, tests like the people over at Apple. I've come to expect things like this. Even with Apple at times. The bugs arent quite squashed yet.

Absolutely love the device.
The Zoe feature and camera UI is top notch. You can do some really neat things with photo editing that I haven't seen on other devices. Galleries and slideshows are very cool too. I love showing those off to people and they're always impressed.
The screen is absolutely gorgeous with great viewing angles.
The front facing speakers are as good as people hype them up. I feel like I'm listening to a mini Bose system when I use them.
The build quality/design is among the best in smartphones. Easily the sexiest device I've owned.
Battery life has been surprisingly tremendous for me. I only plug in at night and easily get through a day of pretty heavy usage. Typically have about 40 to 50% battery left by the end of the night. I do use the snapdragon battery app so maybe that helps a bit.
The storage space was a concern for me but I ordered a meenova and it should be on its way soon. The reviews I've read on those have been positive and I just received my 64gb microSD card which I'll use for my carefully curated music collection. That will free up the 32gb onboard for everything else.

The battery was my biggest concern prior to buying and I have been presently surprised at how good it's been. I agree with his assessment 100%.

32gb is not enough storage for a phone? I'm curious what everyone is storing. I'm probably using less that 10gb currently. For music, I'll download an album here and there, but usually use pandora or stream from my amazon cloud.
For the OP, no problems so far. Battery life has been good. I don't try to let it run down, charge when I'm able, and haven't died yet. Looking at a portable battery pack just in case.
Phone is very smooth and fast, no problems streaming videos or playing intense games like asphalt 8.

I'm a big time music aficionado and have a ton of music on my phone. I don't have unlimited data so streaming isn't really an option.
I have only had my for a few days but I get a full day of battery life without any issue. I am a fairly low to medium user, but on my droid3 I would have to plug in at the 10 hour mark.
Here is a screen shot of my first full day, medium use downloading apps and getting it all set up. Plus about a million speed tests.
I can vouch for battery life being great for such a beast of a device... My rezound with half the specs and extended battery pack has about the same life as my One with similar usage, but the one does it faster with a bigger screen.
And I think 32gb is adequate. I would love to have 64 or 128, but I never use more than 16 or so GB before I start cleaning storage out.
I love light and fast with a small footprint, so this phone rocks.

(EDIT) Since posting the below, including edits, I have come to the conclusion that my phone is indeed defective, and am having it replaced. I'll report back.
I love the phone, but there are three major problems that prevent me from recommending it, although I don't know what else to get.
1. The camera. It has problems with focus, and the interaction between focus and exposure settings. It's hard to get a sharp picture out of it at medium to long range, making it all but useless for landscape/distance shots. The default settings let in too much light outside in daylight, resulting in hazy shots; and the only way to get a blue sky or anything close to enough sharpness to even zoom in just a little is to over-darken the shot by notching down the exposure and contrast controls. Indoors, there's flaring of brighter areas, and oversensitivity to the purple spectrum, as well as near impossibility of getting sharp shots at any distance. The auto exposure control changes the exposure so jerkily it's devilish to control. The wide angle and aspects of the big pixels show a lot of promise (and I'll bet the iPhone 5s with its 8 "ultra pixels" will provide proof of concept), but the way it is, the camera sucks. HTC says they're aware of this and working on an update. Uh huh. How long has this phone been out now internationally?
2. The speakers. A major selling point of the phone, and rightly so, as they really do sound great - especially with Beats on, or you can get more volume with it off, if volume is a priority. But the speakers are out of balance, with the bottom (right) one louder than the left, and there's some phase weirdness. For those of us who notice these things - this phone's natural constituency - it's really annoying. HTC says they "haven't heard much about this", but are looking into it. Meanwhile, I went into a corporate Verizon store and every employee in there with any experience of the phone said, "Oh yeah, everybody knows about that," and proceeded to give me the most imbecilic, trumped up explanations you could ever imagine. The kicker was, "They have to make the top speaker softer because they use it as an earpiece for the phone function."
3. BLUETOOTH. Unfreakingbelievable. If it hasn't been connected since the phone was last turned off, it will connect to your car radio automatically, as long as Bluetooth on the phone is turned on BEFORE the car. (EDIT - Turns out this isn't always the case, and may depend on the particular car radio.) But once the connection is broken, it will not re-connect automatically. When you try to connect manually, it may or may not connect properly, or may need repeated tries, or connect media but not phone function, or it may show it has done both but actually hasn't. But regardless, although the phone's music player will play, internet radio type apps will not play over Bluetooth - and the call quality will be greatly degraded. The only fix is to turn the phone completely off and on again - with Fast Boot OFF; a soft restart will NOT fix it - whereupon everything works fine. (EDIT - The foregoing fix also does not always work. With my car (2012 Subaru Impreza Ltd.), once the connection is successfully made, Bluetooth can be turned off and on again on the phone, and it will connect without a problem. It is when the car has been turned off that reconnection becomes a problem. My iPhone 4 worked flawlessly with this car.)
I really don't think my particular phone is faulty, in all these ways, especially since it doesn't have any of the other problems people have been reporting, and works perfectly otherwise. But please, somebody, convince me that it is, and I'll go get another one! Any case, there's loads of people having these problems.
(EDIT - further investigation with a couple of actually honest and knowledgable Verizon people has reinforced my conclusions, including the "loads of people having these problems" part, objected to by the commenter below. The camera is decidedly sub-par, the speakers are not in balance, and the Bluetooth, apparently typically of HTC, is badly done. These sources also reinforce those on this board who indicate that rooting can solve or improve these issues.)

Using the words loads isnt really accurate... The vocal majority are almost always having issues. Also realize that such a small percentage of the user base go to xda. Personally I don't see many of the issues you are having. If you look for cows youll see cows...

No photos, apologies- my post count is not high enough.
Out of Box:
Usually I wouldn't mention this as anyone can watch an unboxing video online. But using the watch out of the box was quite a bad experience that others seem to be having as well.
Out of the Box the watch has a bit of a charge but will die almost immediately. The problem with this is that charging the watch is a difficult experience. Using the included charger, I was not able to charge the watch faster then it was discharging. To be honest I'm not sure what happened that caused the watch to eventually work but after a half hour of fumbling, the watch updated to something that was not the latest build (I only know because the charging screen was updated) and started charging.
One of the worst setups I've ever had to deal with. Luckily I only have to deal with it once.
On the wrist:
I'm not a watch wearer. I can't stand wearing any kind of jewelry. The watch itself feels very nice (for a watch) and very light to wear. It's not making my wrist sweaty and the feel is good. As a tiny wristed man, I feel the 360 has a good sized face.
No complaints.
Battery Life:
My watch started with the older KKW22 build. I was getting around 5% battery use per hour with moderate use. After updating to KGW42N I get 2-3% battery use per hour. I get ~50 emails a day with a handful of texts and calls. Always on mode is off.
Much bettery battery life then I was expecting. Outlasts my Nexus 5 easily.
TI OMAP SoC:
The Moto360 uses the Droid X's CPU. While disappointing that the watch has such old tech in it, I definitely don't feel any sluggishness. That's not to say the animations aren't occasionally choppy- they are. But with no other Android Wear watch to compare it to I can't say if this is the CPU's fault. What I can say is not the CPU's fault is the speed in which programs open, this seems to be tied to the bluetooth connection quality.
I would prefer new tech but the watch does not feel slow.
Voice Commands (OK Google):
It's passible. Not really any different then my phone and probably because it's using my phone to process the commands. It hasn't been an annoyance going off accidentally.
No complaints.
The display:
I don't like the bezel that cuts the bottom of the circle, but that's not what this section is about. The 205ppi screen is not amazing. I can see the pixels but it's not a showstopper or a distraction. The job is done, text is readable and nothing more. I live in Sunny California, and viewing the screen in daylight is possible but you still want to put your hand over the watch. The light sensor works well enough to change lighting conditions but will occasionally be a bit slow- comparable to any android phone out there.
Not bad, not good. Wish the direct sunlight viewing was better.
Android Wear:
I wish I could turn Google Now voice command off. I wish I could do a lot of things actually. Android Wear is clearly still in early development and it shows. The backgrounds for cards do not have an appropriate resolution and look terrible on a 205ppi screen. Text will overlap other text in some areas, spacing is off, this is a UI nightmare in places. The ethereal feel of all the components as a whole is rough. This is not a refined product. It's functional and that's it.
It's rough and I would not recommend it to the masses.
Moto Specific Software:
I wish I could turn off the pedometer. I wish I could stop the watch from taking my pulse every 5 minutes. The heart monitor also says that I reach my heart activity goal after a few hours of sitting. That said I do like the Moto heart rate app over the stock fit app.
The gesture to turn on the screen works very well. The update to KGW42N seems to have made it a bit more sensitive. There are many times where the watch will turn on when I wasn't trying to get in on but very very few times will it not turn on when I want it to.
It's nice but the mandatory health monitoring is a negative and not very accutrate.
Overall impressions:
It's a very nice watch. Android Wear as a whole has some issues but the Moto360 showcases it very well. I do wish it used an OLED screen so I could always have it on.

I agree with your "Out of Box" impression. I'm pretty sure that it's attempting to download and install the update, which is taking more power than the charger is giving it. Since this wasn't likely a scenario that existed during testing, I'm sure it slipped through, but this is definitely something that they need to fix. Maybe they should check for battery level BEFORE they check for updates.
I'm not sure I agree with your "OK Google" section. Well, I don't disagree, but in my experience it's so hit-and-miss that it ever even recognizes the phrase that I've gotten much more used to just tapping the screen. IF it hears the "OK Google," it seems to work fine, but it seems much happier ignoring me. (...and yes, I know it's not supposed to work when dimmed... I'm only talking about when it's not.)
Once I turned off the "Fit" card, I never saw any health-monitoring functions again, unless I wanted to. Have you turned that off? (Just left-swipe the "Steps" card, until you get to settings.)
I also hoped for an OLED screen, hoping for something that worked much more like the Moto-X's active display. This one seems less reactive, and honestly, while it looks nice, especially in bright-ish light, the LCD isn't helping their battery situation, which they really should have seen coming. Motorola has been making some solid phone hardware lately, even though I still wouldn't trade my Nexus 5 in for anything they make. (Wireless charging, Moto... you know... that thing that STILL sets your watch apart? How about we look at putting that in your phones, hmm?)
I don't know. I love my Moto 360. I just kind of expected more.

The rounds of reviews I have seen have tempered my "must-have-now" to I really want the next generation of android wear watches when we get 20 nm chips and the companies learn a few lessons on this generation.
Same boat here. It's passable. The nicest smart WATCH around but may not be the nicest SMART watch around if you get my gist. Out of box same. Horrible experience. I am a really really techie guy and it took multiple tries and multiple charging attempts to get it to sync for the first time and it forced me to charge to 100% before it would update. Ah well. With zero instructions moto must have assumed only nerds would be buying this thing.
I kind of want to return it but at the same time I really like the idea of it. The notifications are cool and I love replying to texts without having to touch my phone.
First off I don't post often, so forgive me if I break rules. This topic is for discuss of current problems with the S10, S10+, S10E and there varients (Carrier/Unlocked). I will make some good points about the phone as well. Take it with a grain please.
I have the S10+ from Verizon and my phone is up to date as of March 8 2019, the day I bought the phone.
I have noticed a large amount of problems within 2 days of owning my device. Note, I switched from my Note 9 for this.
Here are a list of problems I have noticed, and how I remedied them.
1. Call volume - There is no more sound boost, and calls generally result in low output of the top speaker phone, resulting in a very hard time for me and no sure way to cure this problem as of right now. Note, I have hearing damage from the army, Note 9 was fine without call boost on.
2. Full screen for games is a now hidden feature almost, after some reading and digging, the solution I found is to manually go to phone settings -> display -> full screen apps -> select the app -> change auto to full screen default. Annoying given that my Note 9 and other Galaxy devices all had a toggle option inside each game for full and non full screen.
3. Substratum, A fonts do not install overlays anymore, Andromeda will bootloop your phone. Why... ?. Now I know this is more of Google than samsung, but man does it suck not being able to choose my favorite font and use flux for substratum to change those ugly indicators at the top. No solution, hopefully someone will find a workaround. I don't mind buying something that looks good, but theme store is literally filled with trash, Sorry.
4. Heating, pretty much all of my other phones never got anywhere near as hot and as often as this device did... I'm running the same settings and everything for the phone its self and for games themselves as well. My phone is constantly hot and even when not in use I can feel the warm device on my thigh whilst in my pocket. Solution, nothing.
5. Even though there is a indicators for the new fingerprint scanner under the display, it sometimes doesn't show and even if it does it's still hard to find. I find myself guessing most of the time with hope to get it right. Better indicator would be nice.
6. Fingerprint scanner, I have put several fingerprint on file of my right thumb and still have issues picking up the fingerprint to unlock without smashing down on the display for a clean crisp pickup. IDK what to say here. Kinda sucks but I still love it.
7. Display brightness outside, I cannot see the screen at all! When I'm outside and Max brightness is on. Help.
Nothing more as far as right now that's it.
Here is some ups thought.
1. Man that HDR 10+ is nice, I notice it right away with games and watching movies, YouTube, etc. Even with low lighting on my display, I can still see colors vividly and distinctly. GJ Sammy!
2. Better audio then the last as usual, distinctly sound with smooth crisp quality from both speakers. Makes great for gaming and movies ?
3. Fast fast fast fast, I noticed the difference and it is very much faster then the Note 9
4. Them cameras though.. ? dare I say more...

Get a replacement it should not overheat just be warm, especially if you are holding the device without a case and have max brightness the device is so thin you feel the heat from the display it is not overheating. if it is then get a replacement

Dude its a brand new device substratum and the separate theme developers will have to update there themes and app / service to work with it , it just came out and people that pre ordered not all have even gotten them yet. Be patient and substratum will come this is not the devices fault besides Samsung doesn't even want substratum is third party software not installed by default not a part of Samsung and cant blame the S10 for that its just a brand new phone. give it time and sub devs will fix it.
Dude you can easily see the screen in max brightness is on, in the most sunny situations, you must have poor vision I do too and can still see it or you've got a faulty device and need a replacement.
I have vision problems and I can always see the fingerprint sensor indicators it only shows on the lockscreen if it is on why would it show when the display is off, this is user error not device error.
I'm not a **** I just have autism.

I'm biding my time with it, I'm sure updates will fix everything. Thanks for your imput.
Display Problem
When I use Natural Display mode Everything is fine, But When i shift to Vivid mode.. Images get washed out and pale(Characters).
I tried multiple devices in the stores to check if that's only for me and realised its the same for all devices.
The S9 Image result is better than S10 plus(I was Shocked)
And then When i use Video Enhancer the Videos also get washed out
Frustated me tried to figure out the problem.
Opened an image in instagram, and the same image in Chrome(web insta), and one in GB insta(Mod app) The mod app looks closer the the real image. And When i open an image in Google Drive it was fine but when i download and open in photos app it has the same problem.
PS: its an image rendered personally by me. not a weird image that has some format issues
Tried to record a video with the difference, but it was not showing up on the video.
Did anyone have this issue?????

I have the S10+ from Verizon and my phone is up to date as of March 8 2019, the day I bought the phone.
I have noticed a large amount of problems within 2 days of owning my device. Note, I switched from my Note 9 for this.
Here are a list of problems I have noticed, and how I remedied them.
1. Call volume - There is no more sound boost, and calls generally result in low output of the top speaker phone, resulting in a very hard time for me and no sure way to cure this problem as of right now. Note, I have hearing damage from the army, Note 9 was fine without call boost on.
2. Full screen for games is a now hidden feature almost, after some reading and digging, the solution I found is to manually go to phone settings -> display -> full screen apps -> select the app -> change auto to full screen default. Annoying given that my Note 9 and other Galaxy devices all had a toggle option inside each game for full and non full screen.
3. Substratum, A fonts do not install overlays anymore, Andromeda will bootloop your phone. Why... ?. Now I know this is more of Google than samsung, but man does it suck not being able to choose my favorite font and use flux for substratum to change those ugly indicators at the top. No solution, hopefully someone will find a workaround. I don't mind buying something that looks good, but theme store is literally filled with trash, Sorry.
4. Heating, pretty much all of my other phones never got anywhere near as hot and as often as this device did... I'm running the same settings and everything for the phone its self and for games themselves as well. My phone is constantly hot and even when not in use I can feel the warm device on my thigh whilst in my pocket. Solution, nothing.
5. Even though there is a indicators for the new fingerprint scanner under the display, it sometimes doesn't show and even if it does it's still hard to find. I find myself guessing most of the time with hope to get it right. Better indicator would be nice.
6. Fingerprint scanner, I have put several fingerprint on file of my right thumb and still have issues picking up the fingerprint to unlock without smashing down on the display for a clean crisp pickup. IDK what to say here. Kinda sucks but I still love it.
7. Display brightness outside, I cannot see the screen at all! When I'm outside and Max brightness is on. Help.
Nothing more as far as right now that's it.
Here is some ups thought.
1. Man that HDR 10+ is nice, I notice it right away with games and watching movies, YouTube, etc. Even with low lighting on my display, I can still see colors vividly and distinctly. GJ Sammy!
2. Better audio then the last as usual, distinctly sound with smooth crisp quality from both speakers. Makes great for gaming and movies ?
3. Fast fast fast fast, I noticed the difference and it is very much faster then the Note 9
4. Them cameras though.. ? dare I say more...

1. Call volume is fine for me. Just as loud or louder than the 9+ I came from.
2. I'm not much of a gamer, but clash of clans worked just fine when I loaded it up. Also worked fine using a game cloner with clash of clans.
3. This right here is why I stopped using things like substratum, magisk etc. Google ends up breaking them every update. With OneUI dark mode, I no longer feel the need to theme.
4. I have zero heart issues. In fact, even when I'd have heat issues on the 9+, I don't have them on the 10+. That's despite them shoving everything into a smaller phone with a bigger battery!
5. My fp icon works just fine. The only place it doesn't is using the Goodlock lockscreen.
6. The ASAB update helped a ton with the fpr. It's very finicky when it's wireless charging though. I'm using the pre-installed screen protector. I'd try turning on the display sensitivity.
7. Mine is perfectly bright enough outside. I'm using Lux for controlling screen brightness but it shouldn't matter.

Yeah, I noticed that too.
Skins look very pale compared to my Note 9 and iPhone XS. I'm frustrated with this phone.

I've been using the S10+ (Exynos) for a week and I'm very disappointed. I did an extensive comparison against my Note 9 and honestly I don't want to switch.
1. CAMERA: The cameras on the S10+ are worse than the Note 9, specially in low light conditions. Poor detail and blurry areas. Note 9 has Sony IMX camera sensors while the S10+ has ISOCELL.
2. DISPLAY: Not as bright as my Note 9. Whites are very muted and reds look yellowish/pale specially in human skins.
3. BATTERY: Definitely not better than my Note 9.
4. THERMALS: It gets hot so easily even when using low demanding tasks.
5. GAMING: It's impossible to run games at truly full resolution now that Game Tuner is gone. Also, in PUBG I notice constantly frame drops while in my Note 9 it's a smooth experience.
I'm sad. This device is so beautiful but it's a shame that Samsung didn't care about the actual performance.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's discovered that they are again placing different screens and camera sensors as in previous generations...

open your app switcher and tap the app icon.
I can't really help with the rest, but I figured this out when I updated my S9+ to 9.0.

So I have an Exynos S9+ that I can compare to my Snapdragon S10+ for this.
1. near identical for me, but I'm not a shutterbug. I do really like the ultrawide angle, though.
2. So I set my screen mode to vivid, and then all the way to cool. I can still see a warmer tone on the S10+, but it doesn't bother me. I almost prefer it. Brightness looks the same to me, but I have no way of measuring this. the other stuff, I just do not see.
3. Battery is waaaaaay better, but my S9+ has like a 3,500Mah I think.
4. Thermal feels fine. Didn't measure. Just seems okay to me.
5. I had this issue with every Exynos phone. My SD S10+ runs PUBG at max settings with zero stutter. My S9+ dropped frames a lot.
Honestly, if you're happy with your Note 9, save your money, but part of your issue may just be Exynos, not the S10.
I'm comparing to my previous S7 Edge, so the difference in generations is noticeable compared to people switching from the S9 or Note 9.
SPEED: The SPEED of the phone is truly amazing. No lag, no stutters, apps start very very quick. I don't do a lot of gaming except some card games and the phone never really gets hot.
I also noticed that there is no slowdown while charging the phone, which was a real PITA with the S7.
DISPLAY: The display is AMAZING, but compared to my wife's S9+ there is not that much of a difference. They're both great screens.
BATTERY: I had an ageing phone with a smaller battery so the endurance of this phone is stellar for me. I can easily survive the day. And because I charge the phone wireless in the car when going from/to home I never run out. I never charge above 80% btw to avoid battery wear as suggested by the developers of AccuBattery.
UNLOCKING: I'm not happy with the FPS. I was hoping that the new ultrasonic technology would work flawlessly, but I'm having 50% chances to unlock. So I use the (not very secure) facial unlock for now.
CAMERA: I don't really use the camera that much except for some occassional snap with friends, but I can still see the huge improvement over the S7. Not that much over the S9 though, although like I said, I don't really use it that much.
I've got the Exynos s10+ andhave come from a note 4 so everything is a pretty big upgrade.
My two gripes: the fingerprint reader is frustrating, but more importantly - no notification LED! I thought that edge lighting was going to be the substitute for that but apparently that's not how it works. Any solutions there?

My S10+ SD is One of the sleekest fastest feeling devices I've handled! ?
1. Call volume is fine for me.
2. Notch affects some games, but can adjust most by NOT selecting full screen. SOME don't work full screen even when toggled on
3. I have zero heat issues because the battery is SO BAD it doesn't last long enough to create any heat.
4. The FP is simply UNUSABLE! It's so unreliable it's easier to have it off.
5. Screen brightness is fine for me in direct sunlight , with sunglasses on even.
6. Noticing lagginess also the more I use it, specifically with the browser (chrome). Never experienced this type of lag with the previous 5 Samsung devices??
Kudos to anyone willing to wait through hopeful software updates, apply tricks to TRY to get he phone to work the way it should out of the box. I'm not that guy. This is going back. It's far more hassle to try to use it the way I'm used to. The Note 9 works much better than this crap.

Yes, last Android version will come in fall 2024 but monthly updates (mostly security) will be coming out every month approx until Oct 2025.
I think it's still worth it, considering you still have more than 2 years and P6P is a very capable camera phone with smooth OS.
All the software issues you may have heard about in the past (brightness, higher battery consumption, etc.) have been fixed. Also quarterly updates can be exciting and that's something you don't get on other phones.
Also, Pixel 7 Pro is already down 20% in some stores, so that price is also worth it.
I will probably update to the pixel 8 pro after my 6 pro. I think even the 6 pro is worth getting for $250. I have lineage os 20 on my 6 pro and those updates should last quite a while. I'd invest in it.

Also, considering custom Roms and GSI, you can run anything you want. Like my backup phone, Oneplus Nord N10 5G only got android 11, and ROM support is dead for it. It is running Crdoid 2/20/2023 android 13 GSI ROM with 0 issues

I have tried the Pixel 6 Pro for 5 days. This is my review:
Camera (3/5):
Shooting photos and videos with this phone main camera is amazing, even in low light. It would always impress me, the stabilization is also good. The downside is the ultra wide camera. Shooting videos in low light with the ultra wide camera results in a washed out video. The quality is so bad that it is embarrassing to call this a "Pro" version. My 3 years old OP8 (OnePlus 8) shoots a way better ultra wide video in low light, and the camera is the OP's weakest point... The front camera photos are underwhelming. The telephoto is great, however, I only got to test it in good natural lighting.
Battery (1/5):
This is a 5000 mAh battery device, it should last you the whole day without any trouble. Left home with 72% charge on my OP8 and 78% on the Pixel. I used Google Maps on my OP8 for 1h34m, 30 minutes of it is probably searching for places, the rest was for navigating around the cities. On the other hand, I used the Pixel for taking a few photos and 2 short videos, not more than 5 minutes of usage. Used it for chatting for around 45 minutes. This was an 8 hours trip. The OP8 went down from 72 to 39, the pixel went down frok 78 to 32. 33% with 1h34m Maps vs 46% with 45 min of chatting and a few shots and 2 videos. I tried Anker's 30W charger, and it charged around 13% in 10 minutes – definitely not 30W, my OP8 does 20% in 9 minutes with 30W warp charging. The phone's battery did well on Wi-Fi though, so the problem might be with it cellular receiver.
Software (2/5):
Google's phones are known for their "software". I am not impressed by it, not even a little bit. The camera app would crash so frequently that it got on my nerves. I bought this phone to take photos, and it has built its image on simply doing that, but they can't program an app that functions properly. Google assistant does not work when the phone is locked. I enabled the option in the settings for the assistant to give personal data when locked, but it didn't work. The routines in the Google Assistant didn't work either. The rest of the commands worked fine.

The phone is fast, I didn't challenge it much except with compressing some videos. It is fast, and weirdly enough, it compresses videos to smaller sizes than my OP8. It does heat up a little while compressing but that seemed normal to me. However, I noticed that it heats up with normal use (chatting a little bit, YouTube, browsing the internet). It seemed abnormal to me.
Build (4/5):
The phone looks amazing to me (highly subjective) and feels premium. The display seems hollow when I tap on it with my finger nails, comparing it to a Samsung A31, Note 5 and the OP8. I bought the white color – Google (and pretty much all companies) feels like they need to call it some weird name cloudy starlight or whatever – and it looked quite good. I hated the shiny aluminum frame, it looked like the shiny plastic frames you find on the A series from Samsung. The speakers are not good at all, but I am used to the OP8, which has one of the best speakers out there. It sounds like when you turn on the "surrounding" setting for your headphones.
Fingerprint reader (3/5):
It is fast enough when it actually tries to read your fingerprint. What does that mean? There were many cases where I lift the phone, it lights up and shows the fingerprint reader, I place my finger there and nothing happens. I lift my finger and retry, and it reads it perfectly, never missing. I guess the phone would wait for the animation to finish playing before attempting to read my fingerprint. Comparing it to the OP8, it is much slower.

The speakers are not good at all, but I am used to the OP8, which has one of the best speakers out there. It sounds like when you turn on the "surrounding" setting for your headphones.
Fingerprint reader (3/5):
It is fast enough when it actually tries to read your fingerprint. What does that mean? There were many cases where I lift the phone, it lights up and shows the fingerprint reader, I place my finger there and nothing happens. I lift my finger and retry, and it reads it perfectly, never missing. I guess the phone would wait for the animation to finish playing before attempting to read my fingerprint. Comparing it to the OP8, it is much slower.

Yeah, you are pretty much correct with everything, except those software quirks are not occuring in my unit.
I am not really a heavy user of ultrawide so I don't mind. I am kinda biased towards pure Android (I hated it though before A12) and having reviewed many phones in the past professionally, I just got tired of all the custom ROMs (tried every manufacturer except Vivo and oppo...back then they were not available in my country).
Yeah, you reminded me of those modem quirks - I mean the signal strength is great (better than gf's iPhone 12), but the battery consumption is terrible. I forgot about them after year and half of usage.
Charging is slow - about 23 W or so. It takes hour and half to fully charge.
Yeah, the phone is buttery smooth and yeah it tends to run hotter than average (I don't mind it, got used to it and case lowers the heat emission to my hands). The problem is Tensor (ehm, ehm Exynos). It's also weaker in comparison to Snapdragons.

I have seen several reviews and almost no one mentioned the issues I faced, especially the battery drain on LTE and ultra wide camera.
