Android 12 on V50 sucks - LG V50 ThinQ Guides, News, & Discussion

Ever since upgrading to 12 on my Verizon Android 12 the phone has been sluggish and glitchy.
Every single thing opens slowly or is unresponsive for a bit.
I had no issues on Android 11.
I tried resetting the phone and without restoring the phone is still sluggish (though a bit better).
Apps launch slowly and the overall snappiness of the phone is very bad.
Is there a way to downgrade to Android 11?

Same here!! I've been searching for a fix... Don't seem to be an easy one available yet..?

After the phone quit downloading all the crapware the phone got much faster on Android 12 (after the reset).
I'd still rather download and install the 11 ROM. But it is 3GB and the lgup download location is transferring at 10kbps so it's gonna take a week or two to download lol.
See my cross-post here:
Android 12 on V50 is terrible
I upgraded a month or so ago. The phone became sluggish and glitchy apps took forever to launch scrolling Facebook became jittery. Terrible update. I then finally backed up my phone and reset it. Now the fresh install is randomly installing apps. I am so sick of android/Verizon installing...

Welp.
I had major problems with g'board after the android 12 os upgrade.
I tried using a separate keyboard; it wasn't better.
keyboard would refuse to launch in my messenger+ app amongst other apps.
Later, once I reset the phone to factory the keyboard problem was reduced. But it has slowly grown in frequency until I had to uninstall g'board and use LG keyboard. That worked for a bit, until the same thing happened. I now have zero keyboards that show up when I am trying to type a message.
Yay thanks Android12/LG (( Booo stupid update is bad.

[Q] Acro S slow, everything crashes

I'll go back to the very beginning. I bought my Sony Xperia Acro S 1.5 half years ago. After a month it started to get slower and slower. Apps didn't crash, it usually get stuck in one action and snap out of it after a minute, it was pretty annoying. I decided to flash a custom ROM few months ago because i thought it would fix it. I was wrong. It just got worse. I flashed an Android Lollipop 5.0 by some ''dirtypaul'' . Now my apps crash all the time ( YouTube, Twitch, Google Chrome, Games, everything). Phones keyboard often doesn't even pop up. I can use youtube and twitch for about 5-10 minutes before it crashes. It kinda fixes for 30min when i restart my phone. It is really annoying and i don't know what to do. I live in a third world country so maybe i just got a faulty phone? Any tips or solutions on how to fix this will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance
I also have the same device as yours last March I installed his ROM 5.0 and I didn't found any bug and it's working incredibly great but I didn't like it that much so I came back to the original stock acro S ROM but after a month I also get stuck and the phone always get lag so I came back to BPaul Lollipop ROM and found out it has already released a new updated version 5.1.1 lag free and working incredibly good.. ?

Slow Play Store install/download speed

So, this has been bugging me for some time now, but this morning I've had enough. What happens is that I put apps to update trough the Google Play store, and my phone becomes really slow and the download/install speed is even worse. I just put about 12 apps to update, all small apps. It took the phone almost an hour to update and there were still 4 left that weren't. Tried using FB Messenger to talk to my GF and the phone just hanged and wouldn't respond for at least a minute.
I've had the Redmi Note 3 from my GF for a while, and that thing installed apps like nothing. It was really fast and as soon it downloaded the installation started and almost instantly finished. Compared to my G4, it was a pleasure to watch that.
Is anyone else having similar problems? I have a H815 bootloader unlocked with Genisys Rom 2.2.1 on it. And, I've had this problem on every stock based MM and LP ROM, tho not sure if I had it on a CM or AOSP based ROM.

Phone stuttering and lagging more each day

Anyone also experiencing same issues? After the PIE update months ago, everything began going downwards. Scrolling sometimes getting laggy or sticky (like pulling a gum from the ground), stuttering on some apps like chrome etc. Should i go back to Oreo? For me personally seems like this whole PIE thing was just a half-assed rebranded thing for OP5/5T originally meant to be devices like OP6/6T they just released half-assed update to satisfy people asking for pie update.

You're not alone.
I noticed this straight away when I "upgraded" to pie. Very noticeable when scrolling. If you leave the phone idle for a couple seconds (around more than 20-30 seconds), then scroll again, there's a very noticeable lag.
Another user on reddit managed to capture the issue
Unfortunately there's no fix. I wiped the cache and then factory reset. Still had the issue.
I ended up just going back to Oreo, which I recommend you do if you want smooth performance again.

Same problem here, no one want to help us. Like problem did not exist
I started having this problem since going to Pie, but the phone only stutters randomly about once or twice a day for me. A temporary solution for my phone is that whenever it lags, I press the power button to lock the phone. After unlocking, the stutters go away. Let me know if it works for you.

Slow switching between recent apps on Q?

On android 9, switching between running apps was lightening fast, but on 10 it seems that they are dropping from memory and must be loaded again.
This is annoying, do you have the same situation on your devices?

Google 10 has a memory leak issue ever since the betas and still hasn't been fixed. Hopefully in the next update it'll be fixed.

After the update to Android 10, the phone has a lot of lag

just updated to android 10 and no problem but very very very laggy on animation and ram management
it's horrible
but today my phone suddenly restarted without me even touche it
and after it boots up everything is so so good and snappy
now it just amazing and so fast
do you guys know what just happened
I checked the update section and there was no auto-update
Yes, I have the same issue. I think this is a common problem with this android 10 update. It starts lagging, you restart and it stays fine for a couple of days, then the lag comes back.
Same here, the lag got so annoying that I was thinking to factory reset the phone (keeping custom rom as the last option). But good to know that restating the phone helps, will see how long does it take until I need to restart again.

Try disabling the Google asistant (select none) in the Default apps section of the APP settings, worked for me big time.
