Google Camera config, lib and advice sharing topic for Xiaomi 11T.
Although our device uses Mediatek, it can run Google camera. Viewfinder looks laggy but it has no effect on photo quality.
After a little research, I saw that the MGC_8.7.250_A11_V11 port did not give bad results. But a little fiddling with the settings is necessary because I can't say it's better than miui camera.
Edit: Wyroczen's Redmi Note 8 Pro version GCam_RN8P_Wyroczen_7.3.020_2.0.apk works. I am sharing my own xml for it. You can easily modify it according to your needs.
Good:
I turned down the noise reduction a bit. The increase in detail can be seen in all the photos you take. There is noticeably more detail in 2x zoom photos. You get more details from the shadows.
Bad:
I recommend using Miui camera for HDR-demanding situations (when the contrast of the scene exceeds your camera's dynamic range. In other words, when you have trouble balancing a photo's light). It just gives more appealing results. The front cam crashes sometimes.

Hello
Does this work on GSI ROMs? It seems like there is no good Camera App for GSIs. The Camera is important for me so if there is no good Camera I'll go back to Stock ROM. I'd love to have 108mp but a great Camera would be enough. And you didn't attach any of the APK.
Thanks in advance

Hi Nabulsi08!
I am using stock rom so idk. But if that doesn't work for gsi, maybe other ports will.
I don't know if I have permission to share any apk or link. But when you search for apk names, you can easily reach them from Celsoazevedo Gcam Hub.
Good luck!

How do I install your xml (in a GSI ROM)? Is it possible to use 108MP in any way in a GSI ROM?
Related
I found it on 4pda but i think developer was from this forum.
I dont take any credit, i didnt port this camera nor was in the process in any way...
Dont ask me for porting something else etc...
This is flashable zip, go in TWRP and flash, reboot, voila
This camera is by my opinion one of the best for custom roms, based on Nougat.
Snapdragon stock camera records dark videos and panoramas so this is good alternative...
For OREO i advise to use OnePlus camera because of API2.
Im on AEX 4.4 rom 24.07 build, using Heliox kernel 15.10 build, flashed camera blobs extracted from stock nougat.
Link: https://mega.nz/#!Y91h2baR!pUEHq4-pr6mljUw1EybmU-GpHn1LUc5l-Imf8tFBq58
Doesnt work:
Panorama mode
Panorama selfie
and some other options which are specific to Lenovo phones.
PRO mode is working, you can set manualy some parameters, really nice options...
This is a comparison of OnePlus 2.5.12 camera and this LCS camera:
Tested during night:
Video recording is better with LSC camera, in low light. Also Lenovo camera has option to take pictures during recording. Zoom is faster with LSC when recording.
For pictures I give advance to OnePlus camera, faster autofocus, also it has feature to brighten the image, like iPhone.
But I think picture details are better with LSC. When you zoom you can see the difference. Also double the size of pictures for LSC. But focus with LSC can sometimes be missed. For focus advantage goes to OnePlus.
Selfie definitely better with LSC, with OnePlus pictures are yellowish.
Tested during daylight:
Video autofocus is much quicker and less noticeable in LCS camera, OnePlus zooms like its taking a picture and defocused period is much longer than on LCS.
Pictures have warmer colors with LCS, and more details, but OnePlus is definitely winner for autofocus and sharpness of an image... You can achieve that with LCS but you have to get used to it and see when focus is not right and manually tap for focus. Or move away the phone to let it zoom again and take another picture. LCS focus is not bad at all but Oneplus camera is much faster and more accurate.
Here is also latest gcam that works without API 2
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...06-126161292-2-android-apk-download/download/
I think is creates the best panoramas. Needs more testing...
Today i saw it creates dark images in low light but panorama stays light.
This app is only for PANORAMA mode.
Thanks for sharing mate.

Absolutely. They have their cons and pros but combined makes camera perfect . Only slow motion doesnt work good with any camera... But i can live without it.
Oreo ZUI is out for our phone btw, i hope camera on custom OREO roms will get even better and that zui developers enabled api2 finally....
HDR+ google camera makes really nice photos...
Bad news, looks like ZUI devs didn't enabled API2 even in OREO rom...
I asked few guys which installed the rom, HDR+ cannot be found. But they say camera is much improved...

I didn't find a specific thread for this port for A1, so I open a new one.
Whether moderators find this a clone, please delete/fix it as they please.
I am using GCam port by Arnova8G2, Pixel3mod v1 and it works great in every aspect (slow motion included), except front camera has a magenta/pink hue in low light when HDR+ is enabled, even if the specific correction option is active.
Anyone having this issue?

For the OP: Use latest releases and you won't have any issues.
BTW, Just tested latest Arnova's releases (test apks, both Pixel2 and Pixel3) and I think we finally have AIO camera for Mi A1 that produces great shots in all conditions. Also all the options work flawlessly including the slow motion! Now Slow-mo can work without opening stock camera first and then Google Camera. Personally I like more Pixel2Mod, but both are performing great.
For telephoto lens on completely stock phone we still need to use Stock camera, right? Since Gcam doesn't support it? Or I'm mistaken?

I have this issue too, somehow I missed it till now. It occurs on HDR+ off at every photo and HDR+ when taking multiple photos fast. On HDR+ enhanced everything is working fine, but it takes more time to process photos. We are talking about indoor photos with average lightning. Outside on the sun everything works perfect.

I used to have that bug in older versions. Also the opposite one (greenish tint). Sadly, there is no advanced setting to solve it like other devs have implemented.
My favourite version is Serjo87's. Dot issue is present but a lot softer than arnova/bsg/everyoneelse versions. Advanced settings lets adjust colors and noise levels, and also makes brighter pics in poor light conditions than arnova (tested with the older arnova's versions, not that last one).
I hope someday we can have the definitive mod with all the best thing of each dev, compatible with our phone. Meanwhile, I have 4 camera apps installed

Im using it. Mod works PERFECT with cstark's and sipollo's apks. It REALLY uses the second sensor, not faking by zoom (try by coverng one at a time). Only ownside is that using HDR in high bright conditions makes the app crash. If you can live with activating and de-activating HDR depending on light conditions, it gets the job done. The quality that you get in poor light scenes is day and night compared to stock telephoto. Give it a try!!

This doesn't support ZSL
[Correction]
It supports ZSL..But if i select 6p then no ZSL.
Yes you read it correct our long wait is over now. Now we too can enjoy the amazing processing of gcam. Everything works like a charm and there is a significant improvement in the quality. I'm sure this will get better as this is obiously an early build.
And it's not the pixel 2 camera but it's the pixel 3 one!..
Here's what works:
*Portrait mode on both front and back cams(only on humans)
*HDR+, HDR+ enhanced
*Panorama (super glitchy for now)
*And pretty much everything else
*Night mode ( slight improvements only)
*Photo Sphere
Here's what doesn't work:
*Live Google lens
At first the images will look dead.So after you install it you need to increase the saturation. Go to settings , bsg mod settings , saturation and change saturation of front and back cam.
Literally all the credit goes to @xdaakhil for digging this up. If you want to thank someone thank him.
Well my thanks button is down there too ?
Working on :
Honor 9 Lite
Honor 7X
Honor P Smart
Mate 10 Lite
P20 Lite
Honor 6x
keep testing
Edit: video and photos sphere works after changing the default storage to internal. Don't know why it doesn't work with the SD card?
Photo sphere is also very buggy
Photos cannot be clicked without enabling HDR+ or HDR+ enhanced.
There is a pinkish tint on highlights. This can be overcome if you guys focus on the lit(highlights) part by tapping on the viewfinder.
This port can work without root or any modifications.

? Don't know why that happened. Try downloading it again.
To those of you who who don't know why portrait only work on humans:
Gcam doesn't utilise the secondary camera that comes with the device as pixel phones have a single lens setup. The portrait is completely software based. You can check this, cover the secondary lens and click a portrait pic, it'll work!
This is also very useful as we will get good quality blur and edge detection like flagships in our budget phones as the software processing is the same in both apps.
So the camera cannot detect Dept between the subject and background as it only uses one lens.
Hello,
please, tell me, did you find optimal settings of gcam for our phone? Saturation and HDR+? I am testing it but I am not finding the perfect combination yet.

Well im also a bit confused about the perfect match.
But this is what I use:
Pixel 3 as the input method in both front and rear cams(for the super res zoom to work)
Saturation, rear cam highlights 2.7 shadow 2.9
Front cam highlights 2.2 shadow 2.6
Tweak around yourself but I couldn't get the cam to take a picture like it is shown in the viewfinder and the skin tones are better in the viewfinder than the final photo ( the details are far better though)
Thank you Fredin. I will test it.
Been lurking for a while, just registered to say thanks, works nicely the difference is pretty big! Panoramic mode is slow and buggy for me but photosphere does the same thing anyway and works well, lastly, is the RAW picture supposed to look really low resolution like it does for me?

I'm not sure as slow motion recording requires hardware support which our phones dosent have.
Normally phones (including ours) records in 30 or 60 fps which is good for taking normal videos but not for slow-mo recording. All the apps you see in playstore just slows down the fps and processes them to slow the video down, but this causes quality loss and an artificial feel to it.
So I don't think we will be about to get slow motion working.

The apk on the first post mostly works for me on android 10 - Video seems to crash. But Camera fair and you do get a working portrait mode bokeh effect on the selfie cam, which is useful!
I looked it up and found
celsoazevedo, search dev greatness - I'm "Too new" to post links dagnamit!
GCamGo_GreatnessNS1.apk (greatness, 2020-09-08)
Seems to work video , adds a working night mode and a few minor tweaks, that all seems to work. It'll be a keeper for me unless i find a much better Gcam for the P30 Pro
Having a look through some of the other camera apks on celsoazevedo and net searches and suggestions, which seems disappointingly few for the P30 Pro and not much better for Huawei full stop
Most bug out on me after accepting permissions and won't load after, so they are pretty quick to check through, apart from the download part!
So far the only one that has done something (Apart from the cut down Greatness Gcam Go, that just works, but is lacking in features) is one
fU24 - Gcam_6.1.021_advanced_V1.6-Fu24_5Lens-02c7.2
The video seems fine, but Night Sight and a few others don't show anything and the Camera whilst making a noise and seeming fine doesn't actually save an image. Lens Blur however does. I'm guessing settings here, but it is doing better than most in my search by just running!
I think i'll stick to the cut down Go for the moment, along with the built in one!

Well quite.....For standard stuff it's great. But the Gcam has some nice extra features and options. Which is the whole point of the Gcam ports!
The Go variant adds the nice Bokeh for portrait on the front camera, which i find useful.

I may disagree with you, slightly. While MIUI camera isn't really great, it isn't trash.
I've also gone through quite a few gcams and configs. It's a hassle for the average user. Not all sensors work great on all configs. Also, sometimes not all modes work good. HDR+ enhanced may improve details (especially for macro and ultrawide), but it takes longer time and introduces some artifacts in some instances.
On the other end, MIUI camera takes instantaneous shots that look good on most occasions.
If you ask me, the average experience is the same in both cameras, one compensates for the other's shortcomings.
For anyone interested, wyroczen's 6.1 reborn has bufferfix even for non-rooted devices. And builds based on gcam 7.3 are mostly stable and capable of utilizing all sensors. Configs differ in number of stacked photos, color reproduction and detail/noise processing, and it's mostly a matter of taste, you can even make your own.

Don't get me wrong, the stock MIUI camera is ideal in terms of functionality, ease of use and quality, but if you're not running the stock ROM, the alternatives are decent. I have one app for video with EIS, one for night time shots and one for pics. Slightly inconvenient to switch around, but it's a small price to pay to run an unmolested AOSP A10 GSI ROM.

That's exactly my point, glad we're on the same page
In order to compensate for stock camera performance, you'll go through a lot of trouble, which is why a good stock camera port should also be an option.
As for me, when i used AOSP, I'd add a lot of mods through xposed and magisk. MIUI already has them so I guess this time I will pass.
As a number of people have commented here-- be aware that the MIUI 12 stock cam produces DRAMATICALLY better photos that MIUI 11 did, particularly in indoor/low light situations. The results rival Gcam, without the fuss. And MIUI 12 itself is very good.
