Data Call options - Windows Mobile Software Development

I'm making a connection from an application using the connection manager, and want to know if there's a way I can automatically hide the pop up connection manager info-bubble that gets displayed when the connection is made. From the API it looks like you can make a 'background' priority connection, which might be expected to connect discreetly but unfortunately the info bubbles are still displayed.
Anyone got any experience of this?

Switching off "Bluetooth disconnected" message

Every time I leave my car, thus breaking the Bluetooth connection, the phone throws up an information message telling me that Bluetooth has disconnected. An irritating message which I then have to cancel.
Can anyone please tell me a fix or registry tweak that will switch off these messages? I use "Avance Config" but can't find anything in there to stop them.
Cheers.
start-settings - sounds and notifications - notifications on bottom and then from the drop down list, select bluetooth and uncheck display message on screen
Many thanks for the response. However, on my phone Bluetooth does not appear in that drop-down list. Only a generic "Reminders", which, as that includes calendar alarms, I need.
I installed hAndynotify and it worked a treat http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=563592
Perfect. Ideal. Job done!
Many thanks indeed.

[Q] Autoreply app like Advanced Call Manager

Anyone could suggest auto-reply app where you could make whitelist for the people accepting calls and the rest auto-answering with SMS?
Used to use Advanced Call Manager on symbian where you could define profiles based on provider station you are currently connected on.Took some time to detect all the cells in home, work, caffe area but it switches profile s automatically later on and at home it accepts family calls but respond all the rest with SMS.
The droid version of this app does not have this functionality anymore and just as an answering machine is in my opinion way too expensive.
Suggestions and experiences welcome.
Thx
Edit:
The closest app I found would be TEXTBACK Geo but it seems unavailable :=(
http://textlogic.com/textback/
bump.
I can not believe no one is using busy self answering app in this board ?
Miui has one where when someone calls you it sends a text with your permission saying Not Available or some other message like that1
Thank you aaasey786 , but not exactly what i am looking. Any other thoughts?

yes, correct. it's basically like skype or any other VoIP app. only thing that's special is that it doesn't require you to create an account and identifies you by your telephone number. that way you find people who use Viber and are in your contacts automatically and they are added to your contact list in the app.
Pretty nice I would say and call quality is also good.
I guess, ive been using dell voice, its 100% free, includeds a free phone number and you can call any major city in canada to any phone number for free..
Can you use this to make free long distance calls in canada and the states? I've been trying to find something to do this since I don't have any long distance minutes with my plan but have a ton of data. I'm pretty sure that's what google voice does but it's only for the US.
EDIT: Nevermind. I just tried using the keypad to dial out a number and it doesn't work. What is your experience with Dell Voice?
Right now it's only canada..

Incosistent
This service has inconsistent results.
At times it sounds fantastic, but in my experience, the results are wholly inconsistent and sometimes downright awful.
It has potential, but in my experience, not close to being ready for prime time.
I am using it on Verizon 4g with all bars and on wifi btw.
That's how I feel with all these VOIP programs. I've used Viber and it was crap, even connecting over Wifi. This also includes Line (made by Naver), Sipdroid, etc...
It's important to remember that voice quality depends on the connection strength on both sides of the conversation.
Sometimes your wireless reception could be low, and this is something we cannot control. Naturally this affects Viber's call quality and results in disruptions and broken sound.
We are continuously trying to improve our handling of broken/overloaded networks, so you can expect better performance as newer versions of Viber are released.
Please note that having full signal still doesn't mean your internet's bandwidth is at the maximum expected. When you see a "full reception bar", it merely means that physically, your phone is covered with the cellular signal.
When it comes to the bandwidth itself, your connection could still be slow due to various different reasons, such as being in an area with many other users from the same provider, thus congesting the network.
Viber Team, me and my wife are using your service while I am abroad so that we can keep in touch as much as needed. It is working great, and we aren't having major issues with the system. The quality of service is as expected when using VOiP-ish products.
I am having a minor issue with the notification I get for text messages though. The notification doesn't clear itself even when I open and read the text. It stays even if I hit the notification itself. The only way to remove the notification is to clear the entire notification list every time. This is happening for me on Android 4.0.3. Is this intentional, will it be fixed/looked into, or am I just stuck living with the extra step to remove the notification?

Hi,
This is a known issue to us, and we're working right now to find its source and hopefully fix it soon. In other words, it's certainly not intentional. We are not sure in what version exactly this fix will be added - could be either in the upcoming 2.1.6, or 2.1.7 after that.
Viber "attached location" in Messaging is fairly inaccurate while Google Map app is clearly showing that the phone is able to find an accurate location in an indoor environment. Viber like over 1KM off. Google Map is like 40m radius. I don't see any point of attaching a location with over 1KM off. The purpose of the "attach location" is to tell friends where you are. I believe GMap utilize the feature that uses CellID and Wifi ID thru the API.
The Location aware feature uses your GSM's (cellphone service provider) location signal, and its exact accuracy depends on your network provider. Viber does not use your GPS settings. You may leave your GPS on or you may turn it off. This will not affect the Location aware feature.
There may be a slight margin of error, depending which tower captures your location. Viber has no control of this. The information received by the tower is then displayed back to your device within Google maps. If reception is good and you are in a high-coverage area, the margin of error may be 1 to 100 meters +/-. Within large populated areas, with stable state-of-the-art GSM capabilities, the location awareness will have a greater accuracy.
I have tried to install this on my Gnex. Every time I enter my phone number it never ever texts me. I tried to pick up the call from the website, it's long distance. I can't answer that. My voicemail didn't catch the number that was spoken. Please help me
Please try removing Viber, wait 24 hours, reinstall and try again (make sure you try both the SMS and the automated call options). If this doesn't help, contact our support team at http://support.viber.com and give them the details of the problem.
Every day, I get a dialogue box telling me that I need to activate Viber to continue use. I have done it every day so far, but it keeps coming back. I have never had that problem in Android 2.3.x before. What gives?
everytime I try to add viber to my accounts & sync list, the list freezes and I have to click back twice or the home button to get out and when I return to the list nothing happens and no matter how many times I try to add viber to my accounts & sync list the same issue happens again :S
@TorbenKB -
What do you mean? Viber gets deactivated on a daily basis and you're forced to go through the registration process again?
Are you using a Custom ROM? If so, could you please check what IMEI number is displayed on your "About" page, inside Android's settings?

Do you have ICS installed?

I have to enter my phonenumber and the SMS code, actually just did it again.
I'm on a Custom ROM (Manhattan IC120) and the IMEI shown in Settings is exactly the same as my phone IMEI. If you want the IMEI, I can PM it?

[Q] Automated tasks with Android

Hi All,
I'm not sure where to ask this question. I'd like to create a script or app that runs in the background, i.e when something occurs I'd like to have certain tasks to be executed.
What I want to accomplish is
1. When my home wifi network connection is completed, I'd like to execute the following.
- Launch and App (Fongo)
- Dial the call forwarding number.
2. When I disconnect from my home wifi
- Cancel the call forwarding number
- Exit App(Fongo)
Does something like this exist? Or would this be too involved just to save a few call minutes a month. This would be useful for people when the get to work and want to forward their number to their work phone or set the ringer to silent when their work wifi is detected. I hate it when the phone rings and you have to dash across the office to turn it off.
Can someone point me in the right direction.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I imagine all the automated apps, like Tasker or Llama or AutomateIT or Locale, could do this.
