HI,
In XDA & XDA II - when you go to settings - Device Information - and see the call timers - you see the time you spoke on the phone.

XDA 2 Clear call timers!
Hi, I hope this helps
Go to your phone screen, Press Call history, Tools (bottom Left), Select Call Timers, Then all will be revealed in the middle of the screen!
Happy new Year!
Regards Jim

yeah - i know that - it resets your call history timers - but if you check out your device information screen - call timers - it will show your true call usage and there is no way to reset it as such ... maybe someone knows how that can be reset.
thanx

ROM upgrade does not reset the call duration but there is a "dirty" way to reset it. I'm too lazy to search right now but it has been posted before. I think what you do is place a phone call and then while on the call, you go to Date/Time settings and change the date to past date. Then, you can change the date back to current after hanging up the call. I haven't tried this yet though.

No text message alert

Hi chaps - I am sure I have set up the alert settings for my text messages but get no noise and can only tell I have a message when I get a 'notification' - any help most welcome - regards Roger
RTFM.
Look in settings, personal, sound notifications, then select reminders and select you want a sound.
OR
Do a hard reset and all the factory settings will be back ok.
Thanks for that twiggerdingo - I have set the sound notifications but still no sound - I am a bit loathe to do a hard reset and then have to reinstall all my programmes and settings ! unless I'm missing something (no change there) best Roger
ok, not that obvious in this case...
Can you hook on your ppc to an xp outlook pc?
Are you sure that all appointments have proper settings for giving a reminder (standard 15 mins, but you can change it and also deselect this standard setting).
Ok also sure you have a sound set for reminders in sound settings. also select the checkbox in settings->sounds&notifications>sounds (first three selected) and in the notifications tab if you have a proper sound set up for your reminders?
Do you have ANY sound anyway (speaker blown ie)?
Let me know and we will see.
--- Edit---
Look into this program too.

Maybe you have messed up notifications. A common bug so it seems. I do a lot of maintenance with pocket mechanic myself, it contains a notfication cleaner (duplicate remover) too, and havent got your problem though.
Thanks again Twiggerdingo - your post prompted me to tick the third box - I just didn't think (though I should have tried it anyway) that the "Programmes" button should have been ticked (after all I got a ring when a call came in) ! heyho ! best roger
Ok good to hear all is well now. Glad I could give a little help!

Disable notes button while in call

Anybody know how I can disable the Notes button that appears when you are in a call. I never use the notes option, and from time to time - when I end a call I see that the notes screen is open - must be touching the button with my cheeck somehow.
Thank you

1) switch off your screen when you're calling...
2) Try a different DIALPAD... (just search it in "Development and Hacking" section)
Hope this will help....

Confirmation before making a new call

Hi all,
I wanted to ask you if there is any way to get some kind of confirmation before making a new phone call. It happens to me quite often that I tap accidentally on contact in HTC phone dialer (or sometimes it does the same when my PDA wakes up in my pocket) and it will start to dial the number immediately. I like the way how original MS dialer is doing it - it will at least display a window with contact information where you can select between different phone numbers. I know how to change the phone skin to MS dialer, but when using MS dialer sking you are not able to adjust phone volume when call is established.
Do you have any tips and trick how to avoid accidental calls?
Thx!
Why don't you just keep your handset locked?
Long press of call end key

Lifetime call timer

Hi im new to the fourm but did search this topic and came up empty handed, I know the diler code for thr RTN menu is ##786# to view the timer and the long one to edit/ reset the timer *#22558463# but when I get to that point it just shows the menu heading. What do I do from there?
Also the reason I want to reset the timer is that its a replacement phone and just wanna keep track of my minutes.
Thanks in advanced
