There is a BACKUP button on the XDA2 update utility - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Check with the pic below. The button control is there ... but is HIDDEN and DISABLED ...

Maybe they realised AFTER producing the upgrade that a restore from a previous rom won't do no good.............

So how do you enable the button?

Read the "Microsoft Windows Mobile Version 5.0 I can share" topic. There is a method to hardreser WM2005.
WM2005 Hard Reset
WM2005 Hard Reset
Press power putton
Then press Record Button
Then Press Camera Button
Then with Stylus press Reset Button
Use the recorder button and the camera butoon to scroll and change values.
After this you will see 3 options(no backlight).
1 Kit = YES ------------------ change this to NO
2 Register Hive= No ---------should remain NO
3 Storage = No --------------change this to YES
after this press the big round button between the call and call end buttons to SAVE. Device Restart, then wait.
You have successfully hard reset your PPC.
Re: WM2005 Hard Reset
I'll explain this menu.
1. Enables the debugging mode of WM2005. I have not played with that, it needs PlatformBuilder to be installed on PC.
2. Clears the registry hives to their default values. I have not tested that, but it should work like hardreset but will keep all modified files.
3. Format the storage. This would also reset the registry because it is contained on storage. Similar to hardreset in previous OSes.
It is rather difficult to press all these buttons without someone's help.
easy
easy...
 put the xdall in the table, insert the stylus in reset sw then make your belly or your stomach or whatever to support/push it,
 left hand hold the on/off sw and record sw
 and right hand thumb pressing the camera sw and the same time hold or support the device
 then push it all and count to ten....
hahahaha...just like you are going to acrobatic position.
But i did that.

Hard reset

Please tell me how to hard reset p3300, i dont have manual with me, please help me who have...
I don't have an Artemis. Why not download the manual from HTC's website? I guess it will be faster than waiting for someone to give you an answer.
either you go to system and touch the recommended icon or hold down both softkeys and perform a softreset while still holding down your keys... after them release your softkeys and push the green button while your screen tell it to do....
The Recommended icon would be under Start -> Settings -> System -> Erase Memory or Clear Memory. I have a german ROM, but it has to be something like that. There's a Trashcan icon with Documents going into it Hope that helps

AT&T Tilt WM 6.1 Update Help

Hey! I just updated my Tilt to WM 6.1 using the link provided by AT&T (from HTC's website). It was working fine until I backed up all of my information using Sprite Backup. Now after the restart animation, my phone is showing a blank blueish black screen. Can anyone help me fix this problem? Thanks!
I called HTC and I got it fixed. To fix this problem, turn the device on. Press both soft keys on the front of the phone while putting your stylist in the reset hole (above mini usb port). Keep the buttons held down and remove the stylist. If your phone resets, you didn't hold the buttons down enough. Then, you'll get a dialog about resetting the device. Press the send (green) button and start the reset process. If you want to use your Sprite backup, once you reset the device go to advanced options in sprite. When you restore, make sure that the box beside "system settings" or something like that is unchecked. Restore and viola! Yay!

Zoom Bar stopped working

Originally everything worked fine... then I insralled some other version of OPERA. wasn't good for me so I uninstalled it.
NOW the zoombar doesn't work !
can anyone help ?
sounds like you might have to flash it but only if nothing else works. Try restoring factory settings if you can first.
flash what ? the ROM ? I would rather avoid that...
how do you restore factory settings ? Hard Reset ?
sorry, totally didn't mean flash, hard reset was what i meant to say.
on previous windows phones it was done by holding the power+windows+another soft key on the TP2 its probably the back key. but as i said before search the forums first, as i've never done it on TP2 before.
Hi,
Found a similar thing on mine when I tried out the latest version of Opera, 8.65 I think- seems it doesn't have support for the zoom bar.
You could hard reset as follows (from the Wiki)
Hard Reset (This cannot be performed while the device is connected/charging)
* With the device turned off, press and hold the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons until you see this message on the screen.
* "This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press ?VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel."
* Release the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons.
* Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
Click to collapse
However, the original Opera is probably still there, as I discovered by a bit of fiddling about. If you create a shortcut to \Windows\OperaL.exe you should find it works.
Its a hidden file, but I was able to find it using Resco Explorer with the right settings. (running Opera9.exe didn't work for me for some reason, although that seems to be the main program file).
Hope that helps.
