Ink Pen XDA I and II Stylus - General Accessories

I found an Ink Pen Stylus to be very handy (when I had an iPAQ), since I never seemed to have a pen with me, but I always had my PDA. I found a place that has these for the XDA I, and they said they're tooling one up for the XDA II. So the more folks that bug them about it the faster they may bring it to market.
Here's the link ... let them know if you want one too.

Thanks

stylus
I also use the pen in my xda1 and would definitely want it for the I-mate I just ordered. How far off is the current pen from fitting into the xda-II? Is it too large around or too long? (can a somewhat handy person mangle/modify the current pen to fit in the xdaII  )
Mike

I sent them a note
I just sent them a note on http://www.pocketpctechs.com/contact.asp asking them when the ETA would be. I bet the XDA I would be close, but they said before they were tooling and XDA II up soon. So I would rather wait. We'll see what happens.

stylus
just for clarification... you said you had both the xdaI and xda II ?
Does your stylus from the xda I fit into the xda II slot? or is it too big in length or diameter? I sent a request to them as well since I love my littel stylus/pen/reset device.
Thanks,
Mike

I don't have my i-Mate XDA II yet, so I don't know if it will fit. Looking at the pictures, though, it doesn't appear it would work.
Also, I heard back from them and they said the following:
"Hi Tim,
I know it's in process, but asia is shut down for the next 10 days or so. I won't get an update until after their holiday.
Thanks,
leonard"
So it looks like we're close ... cool.

stylus
This is what I got back today
"Hi Mike,
"It is being designed now and should be released in the next few weeks.
"Thanks,
"Leonard
Fingers crossed

The XDA stylus is thicker and a bit shorter that the stylus for the XDA II. I seem to remember that it didn't fit.

Seidio Surface case/holster?

I had a Seidio Surface case/holster combo for my previous phone and it was my favorite case. I wanted to get one for the Galaxy S2, but Seidio doesn't make one for the T-Mobile version. It's available for all other flavors of the Galaxy S2... just the T-Mobile version has been left out.
I wrote to them asking if they had plans to produce one in the future, but I can't get a straightforward answer from them. They just point me to their existing products for this phone. I was hoping that if there were enough people showing interest in this phone case, they'd consider adding it to their lineup. If you've got a couple of minutes and you'd like to see it happen, please consider contacting them about it.

edit: sorry i see this is the "active" but isn't this pretty similar or no?

The Active is a more rugged and bulkier case than the Surface. I've never had an Active case, but I wanted something like the Surface case that I could slip into my pocket or use the holster as needed.
I can't post outside links yet, but if you look at the Samsung Epic 4G Touch category on their site, that phone has both cases available for it. It should give you a good idea of what the Surface case should look like for the T-Mobile version of the phone.

Galaxy S3 dimensions

I am designing a few cases for the s3 to be produced by 3d printer but I do not have the exact dimensions.
If anyone has a schematic or, better yet, a 3d model of the s3 please let me know.
Once I have this information I would also like to hear suggestions for case styles and features.
Thanks
Penlite
If you are asking about the size of S3, it's 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm

I would love to have an actual form fitting (clip in) windshield mount, but I know that is not what you are working on!
Hmm... i'd love bumpers with a connector on the back with a credit card slot

I heard that Verizon one to be a little bit bigger than other versions. -> I read this from Phonearena, but Phonearena was wrong!

What is needed is a cordura nylon case for people who work and play outside, and not indoors. Something that will never let the phone fall from it's grasp unless you are cut in two somehow. Something tough, durable, and black. Along the lines of Maxpedition or Nite Ize quality.
Thanks.. but I need a detailed schematic with curvatures and bottom placements
Ha mate i'm looking for the exact thing. For example when you buy almost anything from mcmaster they give you an option of downloading the CAD file for that part. I've been looking for a long time, if you find anything reputable lemme know. I get mine next wed and i work in product dev at an orthopedic company and have access to some pretty impressive lil inspenction devices like an optical comparitor and cmm machine, and will draft up a 3d model to work off of, accurate to well past what a 3d printer can produce, probably like around .0005
Did anyone ever find anything? I want to make my own and possibly a kick-stand. Also going to do it with an extended battery. I have to model something for my school project.

G2 Springs

Was just wondering if anybody has a couple of hinge springs to get rid of? Will pay for them and shipping..... Thanks....
Try phone repair sites? Just did a quick search on eBay doesn't seem to be anything available like that.
I think he is referring to the hinge springs that was recommended by a guide a while back to fix the weak hinge in all g2s. Sorry mate I wished I had some left

I have some left...PM me
Does anyone have a spring left
Hello,
I was in touch with McMaster-Carr yesterday and they're still not shipping outside of the US. Has anyone got a spring they're willing to sell, please PM me. Thank you in advance.
Just use the dimensions of the spring and search locally, they can be found at hardware and hobby stores all over every country, well most I'm sure. I have a few but I think it would cost you less just due to shipping to do a quick local search

Thank you for a very fast reply. I'll check around here if not I'll be in touch. Usually shipping from the US to Belgium is quite affordable and I've never had problems with customs either. Have a nice weekend.
spent disposable lighters
I used the spring of a spent disposable lighter. meshed 2 pieces springs together and replace my old spring hinge. works for me.

I like the creativity of that idea But this afternoon I talked to a friend who owns a crafts store over here in Bruges, Belgium and she told me that I'd be hard pressed getting the springs ordered via hobby stores. So I went ahead and ordered some in the UK at [a href=http://www.leespring.com/uk_product_spec.asp?partnum=LC022A05M++++++&springType=C&subType=]lLeesprings.co.uk[/a]. Specifications match, only downside is that I had to order 5 at the same time.
I'll let you guys know if this type works or not.

Samsung keyboard?

Any idea when the keyboard dock will be released?
I saw a thread on how to modify the keyboard for the Galaxy Tab, but I'd rather not do that if the Note keyboard will be out shortly.
Have no idea why Samsung doesnt release their accessories at the same time they release the product. To me they are just leaving money on the table. I mean all they need to do to release a keyboard for the note is change the size of the holder for the Tab keyboard.

Agreed. I have money in hand to buy the Samsung OEM bluetooth keyboard, OEM Bluetooth Pen, Otterbox case, etc. Unfortunately we are left with cheesy aftermarket crap and slim pickens from Samsung.
It would make sense if this werent their flagship product. I mean you would think they would want it swathed in brand name Samsung gear but no, nothing.
Its like hitting a home run but getting called out because you didnt want to run the bases.
All I can say is that Koreans are an odd bunch.

My feelings exactly. This is supposed to be Samsung's answer to the iPad. Unfortunately, the company isn't presenting their products in the best possible manner. And, I don't think the aftermarket crowd is going to lend much support with accessories until this tablet proves its worth in sales numbers.
What I'd really like to see is someone release a smart cover similar to the iPad's with a keyboard built into it like the Microsoft Windows 8 surface variety. But, maybe that's not a good idea considering the recent Samsung/Apple patent wars.

There's one being sold by HH Gregg online that is for the Tab, but seems to fit the Note, too. Several on Amazon have purchased it.
I migrated from the Tab 10.1 to the Note 10.1, I loved that keyboard, simply cause of the way it was designed and built. The tablet sits there locked in and you can have it on your lap comfortably or a table. Sadly, the tab's keyboard and the note are not compatible cause the note is a bite wider than the tab. Such a shame. Now I have to fork ~$80 for a new keyboard.

I didn't post a link because I couldn't find it and by now they are sold out. Note users on Amazon snatched them right up.
Here's a BT That looks nice, I like the way the case tilts the keyboard and the Note

Anyone have this yet? Seems reasonably priced for what you get. Most BT keyboards I've found are in that 30 dollar range anyway.... thanks for the link.

If you care about whether it's real leather, and not PU, make sure to email them and ask the dirty question. They tend to not mention that it's not real leather.
