New here so please be kind,
I have an O2 IRL XDA II and wish to update this to the new win version above, I did manage this but lost all conenction settings for MMS, WAP and gprs when done.
Is there some file(Cab?) that can be installed after the fresh install to give me these settings again and if so how is it run?

You must take the file from any one from your friend have a PPC phone edition that runs on win 2003 se
you need the program that opens extended rom and I think you have it , so open your extended rom by clicking on start - programs - extrom tools - unhide and unlock , after that restart your device and open your file explorer and you will see there's extended rom direcory revealed , open it and you will see extended rom installation program file there , copy it to your friend device ,install the extended rom program on his device and open his extended rom like what you did on your device ( don't click on unlock , it will show error on his device ) and you will see his files and the file setting for mobile telecommunications
companies copy the file you want on your extended rom and open your config file that inside the exteded rom directory and add list as list above ( cab ://my device/extended_rom/ (your file name.cab ) )
it will be installed after hard reset automatically

I am a new imate JAM user... I had 1.03 version rom and I upgraded to 1.06 from imate site.. my imate is working fine..
But as I gone thru this forum... I heard of WM2005 beta version is released... I have downloaded the software with Active sync 4.0 but I am hesitant to try with my new imate JAM.. is it trust worthy and can I upgrade my wM2003 SE to this new one..

being a newbe means:
1: how do I find out the version of ROM
2: How do I find the imie #? (do I need some special software to be able to see / extract it?)
3: Im propably forgetting a lot of other questions...

Ive done the 1st steps after reading your instruction... I extracted the info and deleted the blanks... Im left with:

Does that mean I have to upgrade before I can unlock the sim?
...which sim should I use? (Dutch Telford or Israeli Cellcom) (I am in IL but not sure if Cellcom works with O2)

Well, unlocking SIM is not yet available for XDAIIi.
We are working on a program that can do that.
You can also go to www.imei-check.com to pay for unlocking.

guys i am new with my i-mate jasjam(herm 100).. and i had a problem with my sms service. i was not able to send sms with any sim card. so i installed some titanium edition wm 6.5 rom(previously i had wm5). and when i sync it with my pc i found that it was a trial version and it expired now giving me a white screen written
"this concludes the beta test of this software release. thank you very much for your time and effort in helping make this a great product for our costumers.
to obtain a newer release or further info, please revisit the web site that you used to obtain your current beta release."
now i am not able to access any thing on my i-mate. even active sync is not able to synchronize with the pc.
i only want install a good windows(rom) in it. so can any body help me with this problem of mines in easy way.like giving me a direct link to official rom and instructions to install it,,,

found the solution but still need help
i got the solution for expired version from another xda thread. hard reset did the job.
but i still need a official rom.wm 6 or latest.if dont than atleast please give me some link for wm5 official rom. i dont want to play with roms just give me a rom with which i can use my i-mate jasjam peacefully and also i can send sms to my friends... please help me thank you!!

Use this. It's a cab file so just install it, then run the program. Use your current network.
What happens sometimes is the proper settings are not set up, so you end up with your situation.
need that apllication for wm6

i tried that software but it is not displayed any where, while installing it gave an caution that it was designed for previous windows.
so i got the name of it (i;e htc your application name). ill search for it on net for wm6.

hi with a quick search I found the original wm6 rom the P3300. --> link
you just run the .exe and follow the steps after connecting the device through active sync.
the device will automatically restart and will end the installation alone.
But remember,yuo must remove the microSD and SIM.
after you reboot automatically and ask you to hit the screen and other details and you're done.
