phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database
Am I the one who gets this? Or there are other people seeing this sometimes?
Is it SQL connection limitation in effect?

I'm getting it too. They have been having problems recently.

PIE 6 defaults to "This Address is not valid"

Not crucial to daily, but annoying to an otherwise perfect transition to 6.0. Same behaviour on WMXL and LVSW editions of 6.0, so probably something to hack in registry (???). When opening PIE, a message box opens reporting [This Address is not valid....], also, no matter which URL is set as homepage, after exiting and then re-entering PIE, it doesn't default to it asexpected.
Apologies if already discussed, but after conducting search, couldn't find an answer yet.
Thx.

Is this while the device is plugged via USB?
If it is, have you tried unplugging and trying again?
If you are setting a correct address manually, say www.google.com and you get that error then it is a connectivity issue and not PIE.

Hmmm....thank you agovinoveritas, but of course it's not a connectivity issue...... and I should have definitely mentioned, more specifically, that otherwise than this annoying message box, PIE 6.0 works impecably with no problems via both radio (HSDPA) and USB.
This must be a registry issue, but unfortunately I don't have another Hermes on originally released ROM and AKU to compare to, nor do I know if a simple 1:1 comparison is in order in this case.
Anybody..pls. advice.

Have you done changes to your PPC? Installed new software?
Since I have had both WMXL and LVSW --including the newer version as well-- and I have no issue whatsoever and I have played around the registry as well. Any more info? That is kinda of the point. The error you have is vague. Not your fault but any more info would be helpful.
SAAR!
It's a known bug in eyron hebrew.
check the "FREAK" site.
it's a month old bug.

agovinoveritas thx again. Maybe I should ask you what is the default home page you see first when you just enter your PIE 6.0. BTW I'm searching the net and I've seen that there are a few others with same problem, but no solution yet.
Otherwise nothing special to detail:
1. When entering PIE 6.0 I get an empty home page instead of the expected WM6.0 default home page, unlike as expected
2. In a sec after the empty home page fires up, I get a message box reading: [The Address is not valid. Check the address and try again]. This corelates with digging deeper at [menu/tools/options] to find the home page URL empty
3. Now expected UEx would be to be able to click the [Use Current] button, to set a(ny) new URL address as home page (providing one is up), but this does not work either. Once clicked and approved [OK], it does not stick
4. Otherwise PIE 6.0 browses well both by Radio or USB, so of course it has nothing to do with connectivity
5. Surprisingly, very few report this, but since I've installed both an HTC TyTN, and an iMate JasJam with both WMXL and LVSW with different apps to same results, it must be something in the registry redirecting the default page to errored Address.
Hope I''m clearer now, as there's nothing more detailed to say.

Hi elivne, I confirm that it is an Eyron bug. Following your comment I've suspended Eyron Localization temporarily and checked PIE 6.0 - OK. Thank you for your advice.

T-Mobile Dash running WM6 Webrowser Error

Ok I never really got to test this when i was running WM5 so i dont know if it works either way... but just recently i became single again, and iv been hooked my the worst drug on the face of the earth "Myspace", its how everyone gets ahold of me now... but im always in the feild at work and have this nice phone with a great browser, but am unable to visit one of the most visited sites on the web. This is the Error Message i Receive: Server Error in '/' Application.
Once again not pleading for help but would be nice to get a responce as i have looked Everywere for a resolution. and yes i have .NET Compact Framework. and I am able to get to the home page of myspace just fine. but its after i click login.
Bump... Does anyone have a solution to this... or has anyone else had this problem?
So no one knows how to solve this error?
You should contact the site administrator -- many are interested in making their sites more accessible. it may be as simple as checking the browser type and sending a logon page capable of rendering properly in a non-desktop browser.
how would contacting Myspace help me with this... i have seen several Dash owners and WM5/WM6 devices login.. for some reason i cant get my device to get around the dame runtime error and yes .NET Framwork 2.0 mobile is installed...

Data Connectivity Issue

Has anybody else had this issue where your data connectivity is lost randomly. I have the 4G/LTE indicator on and still cant connect. The are quite a few discussions on the net with weird suggestions on how to fix it... but anybody have any fixes?

mine seems to have an issue 1 in 10 times or so, only when connected to WiFi. I added the apn steps found in the Nokia forums. Seems to be ok, but I have to let it run for awhile.
I read these issues are the result of a defective batch of Lumia 900's and regardless of the fact that some of you have have workarounds this problem may re-occur again and again. I'd recommend a handset swap if possible.
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Some-...issues_id28888
Since adding the apn in, I've not had a single problem. But, grain of salt, I didn't have that big of an issue in the first place, and, its only been 7 hours ir so.
The apn thing was required for while on T-Mobile windows phone devices on launch of seven. Nodo fixed it and it was no longer required..
But before running of and branding all issues the result of some mexican imei foul up, read some of the other thoughts. To me its more plausible to think of the issue as a provisioning scenario, or apn, to think some banditos are to blame. We can blame them little buggets later, and why waste a good excuse so early.

WiFi connection lost every few min?!

So out of the blue this started happening, been for months on the same firmware and rom (1.32.401.17 and Viper 1.9.1, and no, I don't want to update, being on this firmware and rom can't be the cause is it worked flawless for quite some months already).
A few weeks ago it started for the first time, when I noticed my whatsapp messages not being send while not even 1 second ago they did.. Took about 30 seconds before they got sent. Now during this time, WiFi was still connected, but somehow data didn't get sent over it, more or less like it was stuck in limbo..
So I started checking other apps, and during those periods (that come and go every xx min) they didn't had any connection either.
After that I checked my other devices that are on wireless (iPad, 2 more smartphones and laptop), but they all seemed to be just fine, so it wasn't the network itself.
It does happen on both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands, sometimes it doesn't happen for quite some time and then suddenly nonstop with a few min in between. Disconnecting and reconnecting to the WiFi instantly fixes it though.
Now is there somewhat I can log this happening? Does Logcat help in this case? Would something be in the logs if I could snapshot the right moment? Or are there any proper tools I can monitor and log the WiFi connection with on my phone to get a better overview how often and how long these periods happen.
I have a feeling that maybe the WiFi chip is broken? Could the heat affect this and cause it to malfunction after some time? (Since I do notice it happening more often the longer I've been using the phone for that time)
If the chip was bust you'd have no wifi at all.
The problem will be in your configuration of network settings. Try rebooting your network to make sure the NAT is working correctly and make sure that your devices can see the gateway as a dns server, also use an isp dns as dns2.
It seems to me like its timing out on the ip "rental" or it's struggling to find a dns.
I wish I stole my HTC M9. It's a pile of ****.
Nah it's defo not the network, otherwise all other devices would be affected too (as I've said above already).
The router is a proper one, not some cheap €25, but the ASUS RT-N66U Dark Knight...
Anyway, tried to run logcat when it happened.
This is what stood out when it happened (though I could upload the full log if someone is actually interested in helping me.....)
Code:

09-10 02:27:20.600 D/WifiDataStallTracker(1304): ping gateway pass, don't do recover
Logcat will only show you what is happening at the device. If it's a network error you won't see anything out of the ordinary.
Fyi.. All home routers are cheap. Just because you pay a few quid more doesn't mean the device is more reliable. If you want a reliable system you pay thousands for a router from a business setup that has protection from every day faults like NAT errors, unreachable dns etc.
If only one device is affected it could be network OR device. I'd only blame my device if I'd knowingly messed with the wifi or radio etc.. Otherwise it'll be the router.
I wish I stole my HTC M9. It's a pile of ****.

It's a dual router, so both are being send out at the same time.
Why would I use inferior 2.4 band anyway? There's like 15++ other 2.4 SSID's in my flat, only 2 other 5GHz,..
My recommendation.
So I've seen many different answers to what seemed to be the problem with the WiFi on my new M9. After connecting, data would throttle down to near nothing and occasionally come back, if only for a moment.
The fix was ridiculously simple, navigate to "Wifi Direct" under WiFi settings and rename the device in the submenu. After spending many hours tinkering with settings, reflashing, and almost returning the phone It was difficult to believe this was the difference that made the difference. I hope this helps someone and many, many thanks to the YouTube poster Rocky Xyzz to whom I cannot link yet due to my lurker status.
So after getting my phone back from repair, I've had to restore stock, update soft- and firmware, and put viper 3.5 on it. Now the exact same is happening again, this time with data though (and happening like every 30 seconds), WiFi is just fine and has no connection issues...

Ah ok, no I haven't yet. It just disappeared and now is happening to data suddenly (no matter what provider or network FYI).
We don't have the uh-oh protection here in Europe, so that's a no-go.

I had the same problem and this seems to have fixed it. Thanks a million! Why would an update set the WiFi Direct name to something that causes so much trouble? HTC really needs to fix this - I was almost ready to send my M9 back because music streams kept stopping!

Nope, the going back to root and updating firmware only caused it to jump from happening to wifi, to happening to data (3G/3.5G/4G), now when I'm outside my data acts the same (as in still connected but somehow no connectivity)... I've already tried what people suggested here but that didn't help me.
Seems like a hardware related issue, saw it on my m7 a year ago.
If not tried before, try to reflash the latest modem firmware.

Connecting To L2TP VPN Crashes The Phone

My phone reboots itself right after establishing a connection to my L2TP VPN server. Does anybody have the same problem?

Protocol: L2TP/IPSec PSK
Connecting using IP address and domain does not make a difference.

I've already submitted two error reports with logs to Samsung via the Samsung Members app. Hopefully, they will fix this soon.
Perhaps you can also lodge an error report this way so more people can get their attention on this issue.
Me too. I bought a phone for works. But its so sh*t. I reported the log to SS for check and fix, but dont know how long I have to wait, they dont give me a deadline.

Yep it works. Only bug I see is that there's no white text showing when entering the text fields in a VPN Profile with the Night mode on.
Set phone to Night mode, go to VPN and Add a profile. You can't see what you type. White theme is fine. If anyone has any contacts, report that to Samsung please.

Is the L2TP/IPSEC PSK VPN connection working for some of you?
I have tested two A50'S (A505W) and they both reboot 60 seconds after the connection is established. Latest update is February 1, 2020.
Connection is created and seems fully functional (as much as I can test in 60 seconds) until phone reboots.
I am connecting to a Ubiquity Edgerouter ER-6P. iThings and Windows 10 clients are connecting fine.
I have sent crash reports in to Samsung and communicated with support staff. I haven't been able to communicate with anyone able to say they use L2TP/IPSEC PSK connections successfully.
Seeing this thread gives me hope it can be made to work.
Any tips on getting the A50 to keep the VPN connection would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Just connected (and browsed web a bit) to a Ubiquiti ERPro-8, L2TP, no reboots. Update is the februar 2020 one.
Are you perhaps running 2.x firmware on Edgerouters? I've been avoiding it, since they have up to 15% performance degradation and other bugs. The ER I connected to was on 1.x.
