Remove Simlock Orange SPV M2000 - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Is there anybody who knows how to remove the simlock from an Orange SPV M2000?
I'm sure there is somebody....
Thanks for your responses!
Phil

There isn't a program to do it yet, I got my MDAIII unlocked by paying T-Mobile £15, perhaps Orange will let you do the same.

How is that possible? I just rang T-mobile and asked them if it is possible to unlock an MDA Compact. It would cost me 120 euro...

Other users have also had their phones unlocked by their service providers and no-one has mentioned such a price. I've actually had two MDA3's unlocked after sending the first one back under warranty.

I really am  at the Dutch T-mobile.
They just told me if I want to unlock my MDA compact it would cost:
within 0-3 months after you buy the phone: 120 euro
3-6 months: 90 euro
6-9 months: 70 euro
9-12 months: 50 euro
after 12 months: free
But is it possible to use a code from england or something??

I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, the code is unique to each device. I'm sure that an unlock tool will eventually be available here.

Hi!
The other day I bought a MDA III but I can´t use as a mobile phone because of the simlock. I am waiting for a new tool to get my unlock code, which only depends on your IMEI. Until now, you have to pay 15 pounds to T-mobile if you want to unlock your SIM, but I hope in this page somebody will be able to make a tool like xda2unlock.exe for the XDA II. If somebody has got to unlock the MDA III´s SIM, let us know, please. Thanks.

I think there is not much reason to be mad at any operator charging money for early (ie before initial contract end) SIM lock removal.
Reason for that is simple: You were given a discount that depends on the initial value of the contract you got the device with. Without SIM lock, the device would have costed you much more.
That sounds fair to me.
If you do not want a SIM lock, just buy without a contract. Those devices should be SIM lock free (ask beforehand) or can be made SIM lock free for an administrative fee (of ie 15 GBP / 25 euro).
I bet the above difference between the situations (15 GBP, 90 euro, 120 euro) can be led back to this theory.
You might get lucky beforehand by removing the SIM lock (which is NOT illegal) yourself (with software, a hacked code or 'some' luck)

for unlock the MDA pro

I mailed to T-mobile for unlock my MDA PRO the mailed me a link to visit:
http://www.t-mobile.de/simlock/1,9645,13846-_,00.html
What do you think? :?:
Any chance of you translating it to english?
Nothing to see here
It says essentially: Insert a foreign SIM-card, enter the 8-digit unlock code (which you have to buy from us), soft-reset, and you're ready. However, you get the lock only after 24 months if you got the phone together with a T-Mobile contract.
I phoned T-Mobile today (In the UK) and was told that once I've had the phone 1 month, if I call them, for a small fee (£15) they will issue me the unlock code!
same for me as well. T-Mobile uk will unlock the phone after one month. Although funnily enough they unlocked my MDA III straight away.
I did ask why u had to wait a month, and they said it was just company policy
i received the code but its a 10 digit code can any one help t-mobile sent me to contract htc and htc said go to t-mobile
unlock?
Anyone found a way to unlock the mda pro already? all i hear is that people are working on it LOL
imei-check.com is also working on it.. but 2 weeks later still no sound.

MDA Pro unlocking
Hi everybody! I received my MDA Pro from Germany today, and it's sim-locked to th German T-mobile. I thought it would work with my local T-mob card, but it doesn't!
So I need to unlock it somehow. T-mob Ger does it for 100 EUR, which is a bit hefty, but seemded like the only choice so far. I asked the guy I bough the device from to send me the purchase receipt.
Since I'll probably soon void my warranty anyway (i.e. do the rom upgrade), I would prefer any less expensive method. Also, I don't really speak German, so getting the unlcok code from the German T-mob by phone would be a challenge anyway.
Now I read here that T-mob UK is more friendly i terms of unlocking. Do you think they would do my device, or they only do local machines? Do they check the IMEI?
Any help would be appreciated on this. Thanks!
ewhh
i did try the UK tmobile office. But you HAVE to have a tmobile contract in the UK.
So i found a mate in london who had that, he called and tmobile uk said it would take 28 days, also i am sure after they take off the 15 pounds it costs they will say sorry the imei is not from a phone you bought yourself with your tmobile contract.
Holland wont do it because they check imei too.. if it is not a dutch imei code they wont do it.
I am waiting desperately for a solution and would even pay 50 pounds if someone would unlock my tmobile mda pro.
I just hope imei-check comes with a solution before xmass LOL

The thing is, I didn't buy it in a shop, but from a guy in Germany. When he sends me the receipt (as he had promised to), I will find out how it was purchased. Chances are, of course, that it was a prolongation of a contract or something like that...
If not, I will certainly try to manage the unlocking with T-mob Ger, but without speaking German, this might be difficult.
@dvl:
Thanks for the info, looks like Britain is a dead end too. Rats. Now my only hope is imei-check. I unlocked an MDA III for a guy there once. It was quite simple and quick even with all the id verification business. I guess I wouldn't have to go through with that again.
Everyone pls keep us posted on possible unlocking methods!

I don't speak german either -... you have to try until you get an english speaker operator (I got it on second attempt). I hope that yours was bought without a contract.
Good luck.
imei-check does it
Update: I saw today that imei-check now offers unlocking for the Universal. However, it's only available as a mail-in sevice, and it's bloody expensive: 50 GBP in the UK, a lot more anywhere else (due to shipping). All this, plus you have to get it to them too...
This is not really any help for ppl outside the UK, and I read here that you can get an unlocking code there for 15 GBP from the provider, so this is not such great news.
Still, I wanted to let you know.
I will stick to the 99 EUR official unlocking from T-mob, especially since the guy who sold me the device offered to pay half of it and to get the code from T-mob. Yay!
How to get the unlock code from T-mobile Germany
Any BUSINESS Customer with a GSM Contract of T-Mobile Germany gets the unlock code for any MDA PRO within a couple of hour via e-mail for free.
If you can find a helpful guy who is (in this forum?!?!), he may help you out by asking T-Mobile Germany for the unlock code with your IMEI number.
Good luck

I don't know any business customers at the German T-mob, so I got my code - yesterday - through the guy who originally bought the device (with a contract). He also paid half the unlocking cost!

Hi,
just a questions....after the unlocking via the unlock code from the provider, if the phone will be upgraded or unbranded (for example I would like to leave out the T-Mobile customization and change the phone software with the usual I-Mate JASJAR) maybe can it have some problems with the unlocking code?
I hope that it will not be modified
Thanks for any replies.

Unlocked my SPV-M5000 finally...

Orange contacted me today after 9 working days (they said 10) with my unlock code for my SPV-M5000, works like a dream. I've put my Orange SIM into my P910i and make the SPV my main handset. I was very surprised that Orange only wanted 20 quid out of me to get an code and not a year's line rental in advance which was the norm a few years ago.
I was considering IMEI-CHECK but they wanted 50 quid and wanted the actual handset to do it. No thanks!!

No reason to be hopeless, they will supply the unlocking code....as soon they get their hands on it .... and not for free 114 euros. But be patient......... It is likely that this is going to take them ages.
I know, i'm already in the queue waiting for it to unlock it and revamp my Qtek V1640 (universal) to the unbranded qtek 9000 romset with an extended rom embedding the necessary software to take full advantage of my orange subscription including live tv and all the 3g goodies !!!
Any help in this appreciated!!

UNLOCK XDA EXEC AND M5000 - anyone wanna try

I got this from ebay that is advertised to unlock XDA EXEC and M5000. However I have not got the device to test it. Any want to try it, then here it is:
Please, give me some feedbacks, if you was sucessful, thanks.
Have a look here... It doesn't look very promising! If you bought it off ebay, get a refund from the scumbag who sold it to you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=40585&highlight=
I bought this software from a different guy. The reason that I buy it, because I have read his buyer feedbacks and some feedbacks did say it works. Anyway, it's only 99p, why not have a try.
Why do you need a software to SIM unlock the XDA Exec? I've got two of them and none is SIM locked. I use one with an O2 SIM and another one with a Vodafone SIM.
Why do you buy it if you don't have the device?
Unlock Software Ebay
Hi,
I bought the same software and I can safely say it doesn't work on the SPV M5000. The people who have bought the software and have left Positive feedback are those with the XDA EXEC. Little do they know that O2 phone are already unlocked (Money Wasted!).
The software is off the WIKI website and is free, the lad on ebay is just out to make a quick buck.
At the moment the only way to Unlock the SPV M5000 is to ring orange and ask them to unlock it at a cost of £20. But it takes about 2 weeks to get the code. Got mine today and now it's unlocked running a ghost dual sim with Orange and O2 sim cards.
Enjoy all!

Question regarding O2 Exec (please help)

I am interesting to buy an O2 Exec from Ebay UK.Some of the devices are listed with O2 simlock and some others are listed as unlocked.I'm located in athens,Greece so the phone will be working under greek mobile carriers.I would like to know if i will buy a phone with O2 simlock if i will be able to unlock it(easy and free) and use my greek carrier's sim.
Sorry for my poor english
Kind regards from Athens
I can't fully answer your question, but I received my XDA Exec last Friday from O2 and it came already unlocked (I'm using an Orange SIM in it).
Can anyone else confirm theirs came unlocked?
I believe O2 charge around £20 to unlock their devices.
But will i be able to unlock the phone from Greece?
Sorry, I don't know, you'd have to ask O2.
But what I was trying to say is I don't think ANY XDA Exec comes locked and was hoping a few more people might be able to confirm.
That's what i also knew but then i saw this in ebay and now im confused. I need to be 100% sure that the phone must be unlocked or easily(and free if possible) unlocked.
Thanks for answering anyway.
I haven't heard of an XDA Exec that is locked yet to be honest. Also, i'd be a bit wary of buying off E-Bay. If the seller decides to change carriers you could theoretically be left with a dead phone if the contract isn't paid up.
The offers on there are tempting but I phoned 02 to get mine and they've given me 800 free minutes a month on a 12 month contract. I realise in Greece this is of no use to you but I mentioned it just in case and UK residents are looking at them.

I have a Qtek 9000 locked to Vodafone UK and I would appreciate all help I can get to unlock it.. Here is some data of my phone.
ROM version: 1.13.62 WWE
ROM date: 09/29/05
Radio version: 1.04.10
Protocol version: 43.37P8
ExtROM version: 1.13.189 WWE
If it is locked to Vodafone, then it should be the V1640 not a Qtek 9000.
Have you tried asking VodafoneUK for the Network Unlock Code (NUC) ?

It is a Qteq 9000 I have all papaers and the original box. And I have tried to get an unlock code but all they say when I sent my IMEI number was that I have to wait for 12 Months to get the unlock code.
Since I bought the phone on Ebay I have problems to get any help. Even though the advertisement said it was Unlocked and when I got it I tried with my phonecard that is Telenor (Norway) then it just want me to type in the simlock code.
I never thought VOdafone would be selling QTEK 9000's
At any rate you have to wait 12 months starting from when? As you bought the phone from Ebay and not directly from Vodafone, how does vodafone know when the 12 month ends?
Also, i heard that it is 12 months if you wanna get the code for free. Can you pay a certain amount to get it now?

I have to apologize to you.. I just got the box and it says vodafone 1640  Have I been swindled since the add said it was a Qtek 9000 and it looks the same?
Yes, you probably have been "swindled". The QTEK 9000 is never locked as it didn't come from a phone operator. So is the Imate Jasjar never locked.
You essentially go a Universal thru Vodafone which is definitely locked by Vodafone.
I believe the V1640 is supposed to be silver, right? The QTEK is all black like the O2 except the keyboard light is red as in the O2 it is blue. The jasjar is 2 tone, black and grey

Yes it is silvere colored, but is it possible to unlock it with some software?
When I put in the Vodafone card that came with the phone all windows program and my navigator works fine, but I want to use my own phone card.
if you put NO sim card, it will work except the phone part.
Now aside from paying for the NUC by asking it from Vodafone, or waitig the 12 months, there are some people you are offering these services BUT, yes, BUT you have to physically send them the phone.
There are people here who are working on a unlock tool for the universal but that may be ready in about 3 months or could take until end of the year.

So you say that if I take contact with Vodafone UK and give them some money, they will send me a code to unlock my phone?
I have been in contact with Vodafone Sweden and they told me that I had to wait for 12 Months, I gave them my IMEI number and the only answer I got was that in 12 Months they could me with a code.
Let me explain a little.
I bought my QTEK 9000 for €900 because it is not locked.
Now VODAFONE locks their device and sells it a lot cheaper (less than 600€) because you can only use the phone on their network so your phone use subsidizes the cost of the phone.
After 1 year, you can ask for the unlock code FREE OF CHARGE.
Now to get the unlock code before the 12 months, you have to PAY because vofafone will not be able to subsidize the discounted price.
Normally just ask them how much to get the unlock code now. I believe it can run from somewhere between 40€ to sometimes even more than 100€ but i am sure you will still be ahead of what i paid for, right?
