Assigning button to toggle Flight mode on/off - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

:?:
Hi,
I was wondering if anybody can help me assigning a hardware button to turn flight mode on/off. I am using Vito Button Mapper program. I can assign a hard ware buton to turn the power on/off but still have to take out stylus to turn off the phone (a.k.a flight mode). Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

read this thread and get the EXE, then map your hardware button.

Thanks for your help. I just downloaded the cab file. I'll try it and let you know if it worked.
Thanks again.

Keep in mind that the difference between radio on-off & flightmode is that with flightmode ALL radio's (GSM, BT) are switched off
Radio on-off only toggles the GSM Radio.
This is handy when during switching off-on (ie when you use a dual SIM)you want to maintain ie your BT GPS connection.

Thanks again for explaining the function of radio on/off program. I did downloaded the program but for some reasons it did not work on iMate PDA2k. It also made the flight mode inoperable even with stylus. Once I uninstalled the program, now flight mode is working again with stylus. Oh well, I tried. But I do appreciate your help.
Thanks

It works on my PDA2k... you may want to try a reset after installing.

Outz:
You are right. It did work after I reset the PPC. I guess I was too impatient. There is a very slight time lag after I push the button (althout less than a second) but I was not waiting long enough. Secondly, I noticed if I don't have any signal in a particular area, delay to turn off is even longer but I am so glad it works.
Thanks for your help.

Press and hold "end call" red button for 3 seconds.

bdarras: Thanks for your tip. I already tried that because it did work on MDA II but not on MDA III (or PDA2k).

you're right!
I just gor my xdaIIs yesterday, I didn't realize they had disabled it!

key lock software for sx66?

hi guys,
i'm looking for a program for my sx66 that will allow me to lock the hardware keys and screen when i place it in it's holster. i have tried screenlock 1.2 and mortsaver but they don't seem to work.
anyone know of any programs that do this?
thanks!
try settings ->system ->button lock
it is already build into windows
Isn't that designed for only when the phone is turned off? I'd like to keep the phone on and lock the keys.
The phone will keep functioning with keylock on just lock the keys and give yourself a call from another phone , you'll see it works
Doh! Why didn't I think of that?
You are referring to toggling the keylock on from within the programs, not pressing the power button (which I assume does power the unit off), correct?
Thanks.
The power button does not power off the unit, it just turns off the screen or if you hold it for a few seconds, it turns off the backlight.
you may try Start->Settings->Personal->Password along with Button Lock in the System Settings. This will have your keys completly locked.
Thanks guys. That will do what I need.
I think that mortsaver is sort of a work in progress. There is a beta that works way better, but the only place I've found it is here not on any website:

You can get the latest beta from the last or second to last page, but you might want to read the entire thread to get an idea of how to use the program. I think it will soon be a killer app up there with pzp

Xda2 could not be turned on after turning off for sometime

I have activated the advanced power feature where my xda2 will turn it off automatically after it is not used for, say, 3 minutes.
Initially my xda2 will turn itself on by an incoming call. However, after some time, my xda2 will not be able to turn on when there is incoming call. Furthermore, I noted that whenever this happen, I am unable to swith it on, even by pressing the Power button. Each time I have to perform a hard reset and that erase all the data in my xda2.
Is there anything that I could do to prevent this from happening? Right now I could only choose to turn off the backlight whenever my xda2 is not in used.
I would appreciate if someone could advise me on how to go about addressing this problem. By the way, I have upgraded my ROM version to 2.06.00WWE.

flightmode with button

i was wondering if it was possibloe to switch of and on flight mode using a button. couldnt find this option. the significance of this is that those who have dual sims can switch between networks easily. i know there are today profile manager avilbale like phonealarm and zenphone but i dont see a point using them as they just clogg up my today screen. im just trying to keep as little aplications on there as needed. someday ill get myself to remove pocktplus if i can find a good close program. ive tried magic button and battery pack both are no where close.
I use tel-on-off.exe from www.freecabs.de, a very small util. I bound it to a hardware button using AEBPLus, found on this forum. When I now press the calendar button twice, the phone radio shuts down and I go into flightmode. Pressing twice again reactivates the phone and shuts flight mode down.
You can also find a flight mode switcher on the site of Crino, who made Call SMS Blocker. You can find that thread with his homepage link on this forum.
That link doesn't seem to be working, try this one! http://www.inntalinfo.de/apboard/useraction.php?action=get_upload&id=252
thanks found tel.on-off.aebplus caused a mess with my phone last time so not installing that. another question i have is..
how do i display on today screen which operator is being used at present. (i.e. when i switch from orange to o2 it should show me on screen in big leeters)
Use pocketzen. gives u a lot of functionality

BA won't go standby by power button. HELP!

Hi.
HTC Blue Angel won't go to standby (sleep) mode when i press the power button.
Here's what i've tried alredy:
- soft reset
- hard reset
- reformat
- reflash
The power button electricaly is working since i can wake the device and toggle backlight with it. The sleep mode is operational since the device automaticaly timeouts to the sleep mode (power management).
Now the most intriguing part: this has happen to TWO of my Blue Angels at the SAME TIME. One with WM2003 and the other with WM6.
The WM6 was my primary unit while the WM2003 was just lying in the drawer.
When the WM6 unit gone mad i took out the MW2003 one just to find out it has the same problem. While i did instaled some software on the MW6 one i haven't installed anything on the MW2003.
Any help apriciated. Thanks in advance.

when you say sleep mode you mean the screen goes to blank and the backlight turns off...right?
try pushing the button longer

Click to collapse
Yes, the mode where PDA is turned off (apps are hibernated) but GSM radio is still on standing by for incoming calls/messages.

That's pointless. This device has backligh turned on/off that way, not the OS. When everything was ok, a short push was enought to trigger the "standby" function. (once again i remind that the button is electricaly ok)
Thanks for reply, waiting for ideas,

MINE TOO
that happens to me too andthe keyboard smtyms hangs until you press the windows button
I have pressed each and every key on the device multiple times, nothing helps
I had the same problem.
The reason was one of the keys beside the display.
In older PPCs these buttons tend to get short-circuited.
My solution was to reassemble the BA and clean the buttons.
Thank you for the tip, i will clean the buttons and check connections to the mainboard and post results.
Thumbs up!
Bushman
EDIT:
Thanks for the tip!!! One is fixed. The other one still doesn't work like it should but now i have a clue where to search for it.

Ihad to pimp my BA and it happends to mee

I just
break the button

Backlight goes off whilst watching Youtube

Hi all,
Not sure what I need to change but at the moment, when watching videos, the backlight goes off after the specified amount of time in the settings menu. I am using S2u2 which then locks the phone.
I am sure this was not happening previously. Anyone know why the phone does not think it is being used whilst watching videos or how to fix it?
Thanks,
NiugeS
I had the same problem with IGO. What I did, I assigned the iLock application on the send button (hold the button) and that activate and disable S2U2.
So I hold the send button to disable S2U2 when I'm using IGO for a long period of time. When I don't need the GPS anymore, I hold again the send button and that reactivates S2U2... easy solution !
