Accessories for XDA in Ireland - General Accessories

Greetings,
Could anyone help me please.
I need the following for an XDA
Stylus
Headset
Carkit.
Thanks

ireland
hi..u can order a stylus in any o2 shop, and by headset do u mean bluetooth, or wired?...their both available in o2 shops. readily available from installers, just ask for details in a shop like carphone warehouse. where are ur originals gone?.....i sincerely hope u dont possess a stolen item!

What would make you think it is stolen just because it lacks certain accessories, many items are sold on ebay and through adverts without the other bits.

Need to source headset for XDA, due to the fact that I damaged my last one while trying to adjust the clip. It ripped the wires apart. I have tried the O2 shops and they only stock items fro the XDAII. They are no longer holding stock for XDA. Also they only have stylus for XDAII, I am presently using an XDAII stylus and lose at least three a month. and at 20 Euro a packet, would like to cut my losses down.........
And to confirm I do not possess a stolen phone, thank you.

Silverki, I dont know if you wish to take this route but ebay have lots of cheap stuff for xda, just log on at www.ebay.co.uk and search xda.

my apologies
hey..no offence meant....its just that i despise ppl who deal in such, particulary an xda, which are usually much loved and coveted by their owners!....and, its good to see some more irish ppl here, welcome, and if i can be of any assistance, just ask..

Thank you for your help. I was last looking at www.my-xda.com and they use to have a link for accessories, but alas I cannot find the link on the web site and more.
I have not traded on e-bay yet but maybe now is the time to try..
Thanks again for your replies....
Silverski

By the way, my family is from Waterford city.

hehe... definitely not me...
buzz
:!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:
isnt it illegal to do that?
We should send a message to every bidder letting them know they can get it for free.
i contacted the people and i informed eBay.
That shmuck!!!
the XDA crew does so much and this guy belittles it!!!!!
DOS him
I cant see the guy making much money on this really .... Microsoft are very renowned to shut down sites who allow downloads etc of M$ stuff , so i bet he'll be done too.
Im actually suprised that this forum still remains with all the hype on 2005.
i really hope it doesnt though, this forum is great.
...coz we are Bill's beta testers....
good one bzzz
(its the truth)
maybe someone can buy it and upload it here  8)
duh... that guy is even showing my boot screen there!!! and selling also other xdadev stuff...
i wish i had eBay login to write something there...
odd how many pictures of smartphone 2005 he shows as well
I don't think it's possible to send e-mail to ebay users, but someone should inform the highest bidder that it's for free over here! That 'll sabotage this **** trying to make money from someone else's work.
Maybe through the "member feedback" system?
Correction: it is possible to contact ebay members. Should I tell the highest bidder to come looking here first?
@buzz_lightyear
you should put a signature on your creatations from now on.......... or i will sell your SwitchIT program on eBay .... loool just kidding man
i already contected the members and ebay
DOS him!!
I just emailed the current high bidder too. This jerk should be allowed to get away with it. I told the guy the address to the thread that has all the info this guy is selling, CURRENTLY AT US$77!!!
well even though that charging others for somebody else's work and charging people for something they can get for free
is very very poor taste
then if we yell to loud there will be a storm of people wanting to download from this site
and asking questions in the forum if that version of 2005 could be installed on their old ipaq 3750 or something like that
so in the intrest of this forums bandwidth and ms not releasing a heard of lawyers on everybody
it's good in some ways that some people get their rom from other sources then this site
It's not the first time, someone is selling some XDA-Developers tool at ebay.
But normally the prices weren't as high as in this case....
I would say, a person who isn't able to search the internet and get those things for free, isn't clever enough to use the xda-developers tools... ;-)
Maybe we should ask ebay, if they could make an extra moneypart to spent to the xda-developers..... ;-)
Stefan
What gets me is that this guy is a member of this forum, reading this thread and shamlessly playing with his big balls.

We should have a Buy/Sell/Trade forum

Hey why don't we have one???
I recently found someone on this site that got a Jam from me. I would rather give the great XDA-Developers.com members a chance before trying to sell it on eBay.
I totally agree!
Me too. I've had a lot of help from this site, and have recommended it to friends who also have found it very useful. I posted this a couple of days ago:
"I know that this is not a selling forum, but I've had a lot of help over quite a long time from this site so would like to help out fellow members if I can. If this is not acceptable to the moderators I'm sorry, but here goes:
I've got an XDA2 that has been dropped. The screen is fine, but it's permanently locked into "Calendar" mode and cycles through all the calendar views and options. In all other ways it is in very good condition. It receives and makes calls, and all the functions are available, but I can't always turn it off. It's boxed and complete with cradle, charger, earphones, case, software, manuals, etc., and I'm sure that someone with a bit more time than me could make use of it. It's not stolen, or from any other dubious source - I've upgraded and just don't have the time at the moment - I wish I did, but that's the way it goes".
I think that the whole XDA-developers community could benefit if, for instance, the seller donated, let's say, 10% of the agreed selling price to the site. I think that's fair and gives XDA-developer members the chance to benefit rather than the auction sites. I looked at eBay in order to sell the item I've mentioned above, and I'm new to Ebay, but it looks over-complicated for what I want to do with an item that I know is faulty.
There may be other issues that might make things difficult, but if people are honest in their descriptions I don't see a big problem. Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware - if you're not happy about something, don't do it.
I think there's room for discussion on this matter.

A new kid on the block? Opinion, anybody?

Being a pda freak, I'm always looking for a better device. Having just sold my JAM, I am inclined to switch to the HTC Universal-based model. However, being unlucky to be based in Kazakhstan (the notorius "Stan"!), I have found it very difficult to talk to the online stores such as eXpansys or MobilePlanet. They simply do not make deliveries to this region.
However, I found this website, www.qtekuk.com which, after I wrote to them, responded that they would be able to deliver to Kazakhstan.
My quesiton is, has anyone dealt/heard of these guys? I need a second opinion before I make a money transfer.
Replies at soonest are much appreciated as I need to make up my mind (there is one guy in town waiting to sell me the item but his price is not as attractive).
Thanks and regards
Try some other sellers too.
Hi I noticed you didn't get answer yet to your question. I can't tell much about that, but my advice would be ,that if you're planning to buy a gadget like that, you could also spend a few extra dollars and actualy call them to make an idea about the company. Also, read throughout the forum and you'll find a lot of sellers especialy in uk from whitch people bought already.
Good luck.
qtekuk.com = SDD
"qtekuk.com" are none other than SmartDevicesDirect. I don't know if they have become the official distributor in the UK, or if the domain and site are just designed to look that way. (qtek.co.uk still redirects to agbglobal, Qtek's parent company).
Search the forum if you want other people's experiences of them (good and bad). Personally I prefer not to put my trust in companies that use mulitple identities, or that charge credit cards up front for stock they haven't got. Plus I hate web sites that play cheesy music as soon as you land on their home page. YM, of course, MV.
Hey striker_69, sorry I missed your post before. I would say don't bother with this firm. £610 is outrageously expensive. You could buy one from someone trustworthy on eBay for around £150-200 LESS than that. Since you are in Kazakhstan you would need to pay via bank transfer probably (a lot of PayPal fraud occurs in Eastern Europe and also in India, Thailand, nigeria, etc as I am sure you are aware).
Hmm, can't really comment, but after seeing that guy on the intro to their site, well, 'I wouldn't buy a used car from him!'
Hope it works out for you
Gareth

Collecting money for Cotulla to purchase Samsung phones

Hi everybody!
Recently I've spoke with Cotulla and he agreed to try to hack Samsung handsets to create a custom ROM. I think it's a GREAT NEWS! The only one cons - Cotulla don't have any Samsung handset. So, I've decide to collect money to buy used Samsung handsets on ebay and send 'em to Cotulla.
I've checked price for used Samsung handsets on ebay and got about $160-180 for used Focus and $260-270 for Omnia (Cotulla asked for two different handsets - I beleive he knows what he needs!). EMS shipping will costs about $60.
The agenda is:
collect $550 using ChipIn service;
buy two Samsung's handets, Focus and Omnia;
send these phones to Cotulla via EMS or FedEx;
rest will be donated to Cotulla;
All money flow will be open and clear; I'll post a receipt scans and periodically will report progress (ChipIn service is already open and clear).
The backup plan (if we can't collect desired amount during month) is:
if we'll have money for one Focus, I'll send Focus only to Cotulla. If not, collected money will be donated to Cotulla.
I hope the xda already has at least 50-100 generous Samsung handsets owners who want to get a "ROM freedom", so
WBR, SeNS
P.S. Just tried to make a first donation by myself but I can't because ChipIn is wired to my PayPal account BTW, I'll donate anyway!
P.P.S. Project finished, will publish project's statement later.
*********************************************************************************************
P.P.P.S. Project's financial report:
HTML:
Total donated: $161.00 (13 contributors)
Cash collected: $151.19 ($10 - PayPal fees)
Samsung Focus: $163.61 (bought on ebay, price with S&H + MA tax)
Shipping to Cotulla: $ 11.39
Grand total: $175.00
(my donation) $ 23.81
Maybe I'm missing something, but why not ask the seller to send the phone directly to Cotulla? Oh, I see he is from Russia... maybe you can get someone to buy and send a phone from Germany to him? It's about 200 Euro in Germany, brand new. Maybe ebay.de will find you something cheaper even.
Yes, we talked in XDA PM with sensboston about ability for DFT team try to "unlock" Samsung devices for custom ROMs
Usually we working only with HTC devices, but why not try new?
Actually, We need few days to do static analysis on Samsung ROMs to finally confirm that DFT take this project. (Maybe Samsung devices are too strongly secured so it can become very hard work )
something in case you didnt know yet.
just Omnia7 Sales are already above 5,000 at Taobao a month in China.
so large Samsung handsets owners...
Charging Paypal via Alipay we usually used is inconvenient.
ChipIn. More difficult ..for chinese . i think..
from wpxap.com
I will donate next month something.
Personally I own a Samsung Omnia 7 and its a pretty beautiful device, but what will happen with Custom Roms?
It would be simple fing awesome.
I owned the Xperia X1 with Custom Roms and the Samsung Omnia itself.
DFT you're making a awesome job for the community.
I'm looking forward for your Samsung roms.
I'd donate if they it was for CDMA based models (I dont have a Samsung phone a HTC but, a CDMA one). THey don't touch CDMA because they dont have phones and that's with HTC..
Verizon Trophy and the Sprint Arrive is what I am talking about...
Good luck on the quest...maybe someone will start one for us...
Edit: Maybe a few people have some used ones for sale, sending them 2 used ones over 1 new one would be more usefull on testing (incase they brick one in testing), Just a thought to help. As long as the phones work, are in good shape and are not blacklisted it should be fine for testing....Unless they said they only will take new ones for donation.
Just a thought....
I'm afraid we collect nothing at this rate
C'mon guys, don't be so cheap! I'm expecting xda members not a children/teens only with mom's birthday gift - fancy expensive handset...
As for adults - donating $5 - $10 is nothing, you've spent much more to pay your monthly bill or even usual tips to waiter in restaurant!
Lets appreciate Cotulla's hard work for community, don't be cheap!
yeeah and after Samsung only LG is missing ,waiting for DFT LG roms ^^ Are there som plans or have LG users no Luck ?
And Cotulla/DFT you re bringing back the wm feeling with your roms

Hi, my donation is 20$, id 0L114908UE544863L
Hope this will help
BTW, do we have moderator here? I've asked ~~Tito~~ to pin this thread to the top but he didn't reply (probably, on vacation). We need to keep thread on top.

Pushing up.
Up. C'mon guys, we need another $100 - at least for one Focus for Cotulla!
Up again. Let's collect money at least for one Samsung Focus (will cost about $200 with shipping to Cotulla), developer can't do a hack without real hardware. Please, donate!
P.S. Sorry, guys, for reposting, but forum moderators are ignoring my requests to pin this topic to the top for a month Also it moved here, to "General" but seems like people here don't know Cotulla (and didn't appreciate his outstanding job!) and not interested in custom ROM's Most topics about how good/bad WP7 is, complete blah-blah-blah... But (I believe) with custom ROM's WP7 can beat Android/i-fancy-Phone etc.
20 bucks from my side (fdf5840e5b297852).
Keep the good work up guys
15 from me. Thanks for HSPL for HTC HD7.

Request: Post Forwarding from Serbia

Hello,
I've been reading the discussion board, followed many guides and gone through many reviews for years, but did not need to register so far. This is actually my first post, thus I hope it is okay to ask for this specific help right here. If not, my apologize. I did not know where else to place this question.
Well, I would like to buy a phone case that I was not able to find anywhere else but in Serbian e-shops (weird, right?). None of the sellers, however, agrees with shipping it abroad. I live in the Czech Republic, though. May I ask any fellow user living in Serbia to help me out with this problem? I will, of course, pay you beforehand and will cover all the shipping costs. Or is there any post forwarding company in Serbia?
Thank you.
Hello there,
Can't help you with your issue, but I am curios what case is worth shipping from Serbia!
Could you share a link with us? (probably you'll have to split it so that it is picked up as normal text because you're new around here)
Thanks!
Well, nothing special actually. It's just a flip case for a long long discontinued phone. I have recently found a forgotten BNIB Nokia N86 in the drawer and decided to use it as my secondary (=work) phone. And I would like it to stay in this great condition as long as possible. When searching for the protection, I came across this nice looking Capdase Leather Case for N86. They seem to be out of stock in all stores, but the Serbian ones.
