Low Headset and ringer Volume + bluetooth (1.39 already) - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas how to fix these 2:
1. My stereo headset volume for WMP is painfully low. Any traffic in the car or bike drowns out the sound. Also the ringer volume is so low that I can only hear my phone ring in a relatively quiet room.
2. I have installed CE ROM 1.40 and Radio 1.12 and BT 1.39. Still my blue tooth clarity for the other party on the phone is horrible. Before I upgraded the CE ROM, it was actually bearable for the first time. I prefer 1.40 - but will regress if I can't find a fix.
Have now spent a lot of time reading through Wiki and the forums and have not found any resolution to these two.
Any ideas on any of the above would be very much appreciated,
Cheers
Russel

I've found nueaudio to do the trick.

Volume level in MDA III

Problem: volume level in MDA III
Hello,
Description of the problem:
During the phone conversation when using the loudspeaking mode, the volume of the sound is considerably lower than while using the same speaker by other applications (tom-Tom or Destinator). It forces me to use headphones while driving a car. But the experience with other aplications shows than it could be heard louder: both amplifier and speaker have such a possibility.
Has anybody faced such a problem. If yes, what is the solution?
Regards
Zdzich
Wow, good point. I never thought of that but you are right.
Did you try pushing up the volume slider whilst in a call? I know it may sound sily, but I have to ask.
Sure.
Definitely a bug with 1.40 ROM and speakerphone...
so far I have yet to see or find a solution...
I did not have this problem with the 1.33 ROM on my SX66.

Annoying background static on stereo BT headset

Hi all,
Just got me a Sony DR-BT10CX bluetooth stereo headset. I'm new to these things, so I have a bit of a newbie question. The sound is quite good, much better than the ones that came with my HTC Touch (obviously), but there's a considerable static in the background, that seems to increase when I increase volume, but only when regulated on the headset itself. If I increase volume on my Touch (in WMP, or volume slider), the static doesn't seem to increase. I was just wondering if this is normal in these headsets? This headset sells in Holland for just under E100,-, so not really expensive, but not really low end either. Could it be a faulty headset or crappy design?
All thoughts and experiences very welcome...
Thanks,
Driekus
A2DP question
Might be a silly question, but have you tried turning the volume on the Touch up to 80% and turning the headset's hardware volume setting down??
Some A2DP stereo headsets have a particular setting they work best at..
Failing that, you may simply have a headset with firmware that really isn't perfectly compatible with your PDA...
Good luck,
Andy

As a matter of fact the volume on my touch is currently up to 100% as is the one in WMP, so that I can keep the volume setting on my headset low, but that's not really how it should work I think. Besides, incoming calls are now very low volume, so I have to adjust the volume on the headset everytime a call comes in (and quickly lower it when I hang up in order to prevent hearing loss...) and I tend to miss appointment-announcements by MS Voicecommand because of this as well.
I guess the headset isn't perfectly compatible with my Touch, as sound sometimes skips (which is even more annoying because it doesn't happen all the time) and my pda doesn't automatically connect to my headset (solved with A2DP-plugin, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1503123#post1503123), but I'm not sure whether the background hiss is because of this too.

How to increase ring volume?

hello everybody,
Sorry if this has been already discussed, I've searched the forum but couldn't find any answer!
My ring volume is low, sometimes the vibration makes louder "noise" than the ring itself, no matter what ringtone I set. All the time the ring volume is set to maxim and I try to use only built in tones.
Any ideea how to increase the volume? Does the speaker tweak work also for this (the Audio3 para file)?
Many thanks,
Radu
my speaker is loud as ****!!! are you sure you don't have a bad speaker? time for a warranty exchange?
I agree. It does sound like you have a bad speaker. On max volume, my device is quite deafening (I usually set it down a notch).
Try playing a song at max volume without headset connected so that it'll play through the rear speakers. If the volume is satisfactory, then it's probably a software fault somewhere (ring volume vs device volume?). If the volume is still soft, then you've got a bad speaker.
Thanks
Thank you for your answers.
I did some test and I really hope it's not a speaker problem. During a phone call, on speaker, I could listen very well outside, in a crowded & noisy space. Only the ring tones seems to be lower volume, at least for my ears.
ring
i am hv
aving the same problem. mine worked great till the phone froze up and then it reset it self, and all my info was gone and the ring volume was weak.
will keep looking but thinking i will have to reflash the unit
have you installed any program?
have you installed any program before this? I realized my problems might have come from KeepMyRingTones app... after a hard reset sound seems to be better, but still not as I wanted to be.
Same problem here...I wish the ringer was really loud. I used to have a nokia n82 and really loved the ringer and speaker volumes on it. Hoping Windows 6.5 will improve the ringer on this phone.
Try installing SRS Wow HD or HDTweak
Both have increase in volume settings

Anyone Ever Solve TP2 Volume Problem?

Has anyone come up with a working solution for the low speaker volume during phone calls on the Touch Pro2? Tried the Audiopara tweak, and lost ALL volume on the speaker, Tried changing settings with "HD Tweak", no effect. FWIW, my ringer volume is fine.
Seems like some folks get results, some don't. My hearing is lousy to start with, so I really need to find a working fix, or ditch the phone.
Use this cab and then reboot
It worked great for me

Makes the button beeps louder, but completely eliminates all phonecall audio!
Not only that, but deleting the cab didn't restore what little audio I had. Had to do a hard reset!!!

Strange, I have it working great and imrpoved the volume a lot!
Perhaps is something related with your ROM
If uninstall not helped, which is strange also, then soft reset and if not hard reset will be the option...
Sorry to hear did not worked for you
I feel your pain, brother! I have 3 of these phones, and am about to give up and sell them because of this stupid problem. What really gets me is that I have seen this same very common complaint (low earpiece volume) with other HTC phones as well. I know of several that have been returned. Don't they pay attention to customer feedback? "Full volume" should be painfully loud, not barely audible. Such a shame to have this be the "deal breaker" for an otherwise great phone.
Some might say to try the SRS WOW HD program, don't do it. It causes lockups and the units don't come out of power down states.
Bump. Bump.

All three have the same issue? Cdma or gsm? My verizon tp2 has very adequate volume and I usually have to have it turned down a notch or two or it is painful to my ear. Same when using the loud speaker. I thought I saw a volume fix cab floating around, might be for specific cdma roms, not sure. I'm wondering if it is more of a gsm v. issue. I agree I have seen this with many diff htc phones, but I can also say I've seen/heard of it with nokia and also other makes. Sorry I have no help, just the comment.
Ringtone Gets Loud In The End
My Ringtone Is Low In The Beginning But At The End Of The Ringer Its A Real Loud Increase In The Sound. I Tryed The Rhodium Audio Parameters And The AudioPara3. Should I Try AudioPara4???? Im on Radio 4.49.25.17 And Under Software Info It Says...
OS Version: 5.2.21854
Manila Version: 2.1.19202517.0
Rom Version: The Cell Pro Series WWE
Rom Date: 9/25/09
I Need Help With Making My Ringers LOUD!!!!!! LOL and im on 6.5
Related:
I have too LOUD in-call volume from the phone.
Using the built-in volume rocker does NOTHING to the in-call voice volume.
The volume is so excruciatingly painful that I can keep my wired HTC hf set 10cm from my ears and still listen perfectly to the conversation.
Not very practical though.
Is there ANY working solution that makes the Volume controller actually control in-call voice volume during phone calls?
I'm running stock 6.5 ROM with no hacks and no audio related software installed.
Bump
Still hoping for an answer.

Low Volume via Car Bluetooth Audio

Hi Guys
I have this really annoying problem, when i get a call the volume is really low. It seems as if the person on the other side is whispering. I have to usually turn the car volume to maximum for it to be audible. However, when the call is terminated there is this really loud disconnect tone which makes me nearly deaf. my older galaxy s3 is louder than htc one even with half the volume level.
Playing music via bluetooth is absolutely fine.
i am not sure if anyone else has faced a similar problem with the HTC one M8.
I drive a Hyundai i30 and using an HTC One M8 bought on a contract from Vodafone.
Please help

I have this exact problem. Brand new HTC One m8 and only the in call volume is low. If I move the rocker up and down the slider moves but the volume stays extremely low. I have to put my radio on max just to here ANYTHING.
As far media volume, it's extremely loud, it's only the in call volume that's low for me on bluetooth. anyone know of a file or fix or rom that fixes this?
any news
Any News or fixes on this , as I have The same problem ?

Interestingly I have exactly the same issue with my new M9 with Kia Sportage Sat Nav unit which is probably the same as the i30 unit in the first post. Have latest firmware installed in the car sat nav.
As you say, bluetooth streaming of radio/music is fine! As for the end of call beep, very loud!
Sony Xperia Z2 and Samsung Note 4 was fine in same car.
Very annoying indeed
Low BT Call Volume
Hey Everyone:
I have been having this EXACT same problem for months now. ANY Bluetooth device that I am connected to sounds fine as far as Music and Streaming, but when it comes to IN CALL BT VOLUME, its PATHETIC. I scoured the web and there are no real answers or solutions for this. Just to save my own sanity, is everyone else ONLY experiencing this for phone calls only as I am??? The only way to get a decent amount of volume while on a call is to be paired to a device that allows you to turn the sound up SUPER HIGH, such as in my car, otherwise most of these smaller BT speakers that work for phone calls also have you capped at a certain volume level.
I am beginning to think that this is a massive hardware problem as I am seeing various M8 users having this issue on all variants as well Verizon, TMOUS, etc. etc.
I think our only option is to do warrenty exchanges?! The other thing that scares me is that some M9 users are also complaining about this too!!!!!!
I thought perhaps it might be time to upgrade to the M9 but whats the point if this stupid BT In-Call volume issue keeps happening?!
It is SO frustrating
i have had 2 m8s & both had same fault
Had same problem with m8. In call volume very low. Music audio perfect.
Moved to samsung s7 bt works very well.
Moved to htc m10, great phone. Bluetooth problem back! In call low volume. Music audio clear and loud.
HTC wake up, fix this problem. NOW!
