unlock imei-check - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi guys, I tried the unlocking method using the unlock program downloaded from imei-check, it did the extraction ok and uploaded ok but then took me to the payment confirmation page next. I thought it was going to be a straight forward thing and i didnt have to make any payments to them.

[Q] About sim card unlock.

I got a TMOBILE G2 a few days ago and they said they will send me a network unlock code for me after 40 days. I want to know when i get the code to unlock the network lock and then I do root and flash rom, do i have to do network unlock again? Otherwise I flash sense rom first, I could still use the code to unlock the network lock? Does the code be included in the rom or other place that it wouldnt been wipe? Thanks for answer..
no, as long as you do not flash a "locked" rom onto your phone yo will be ok, the unlock code is for your IMEI, so it will work again regardless
where to buy unlock code
Hi,
where can i buy a working and tested unlock code for my G2 - ebay perhaps link?

Scotty2 and others just cracked simlock. Check the development section for the guide. It is for the more advanced user as of now, but the guide promises an easier method shortly.

Yes i will check it 10x.
I have buy unlock key from cellunlock.net (5 min. response), G2 work perfect for me now in Europa with "H" too.
I have make OTA update, permroot and unlock, very easy and secure for the phone.

I would suggest to way a few days. Scotty2 and his "crew" is guess are working on getting the sim unlock bit going pretty soon. There is a guide out there to do it but it requires you to get into hex code, and a bunch of other things...for me it's out of my leage, but other are trying it with success.
There are some know issues with the phone post unlock, but I think the poster before me gave all the links.
Don't buy the codes...it seems to be a rip off in my book.
Good luck!

If I get the Xperia Play Sim Unlocked...

If I get the Xperia Play sim unlocked, Can I then unlock the bootloader?
if you unlock your bootloader via jinx or alejandrissimo it will unlock your sim at the same time... i used alejandrissimo, very professional and was unlocked in minutes but it is the paid way.
unlocking your sim will not change anything at all to do with your bootloader im afraid, if your sim locked the paid way is the only way - $24 well worth it!!
Looks like thats the way im going to have to go. On the plus side, I get paid tuesday. =)
But yeah, I was just wondering cause I know people were like you cant unlock the bootloader if its a sim locked phone and all this other stuff and I was thinking, What if I called up ATT and got them to unlock the IMEI?
But if that wont change anything, I guess the paid method is how im going to have to go about doing this.
Thanks
If you get it sim unlocked your bootloader will then be allowed to be unlocked.

I believe the bootloader is specific Per-Device.
You can check if you can in your settings, excuse my newbieness,
Settings > Root Status (or something to this effect)
If your bootloader can be unlocked it'll be listed there.
I dont think the status of your SIM (locked or unlocked) affects the bootloader.

Well... Then I guess Im just gonna call up ATT and get the unlock code. Unlock the phone's sim lock and see if I can, Worse comes to worse, I cant. I still have the paid method available and I havent paid any money what so ever.

Ive looked there and it doesnt show. Which is what brought my hopes down in the first place but everywhere I looked... it said I cant because the device is simlocked. Which is why i wanna know if getting the sim lock removed would then allow me to access and unlock the Bootloader via FastBoot.
I have never owned a phone that has stopped me from rooting and installing custom roms to it. This is kinda a dissapointment but on the plus side, its a good phone.
Hard to get an unlock code from AT&T Or so I heard, but if you do, if you can tell me what you said, that'd be great.
If you do get an unlock code from them, Cant hurt to try to unlock the bootloader after that.

Im a "Valued" member of ATT. Had them for years. So, They dont question me. As long as youve had the phone on your account for 90 days, they dont bother you if you ask for a unlock code.
I will most likely do this tomorrow and will post the outcome. because like I said, if it just takes unlocking the sim card from ATT to be able to unlock the bootloader... id rather do that.
Im not against paying 24$ to have it done.. but why not try what I can for free first?
Hi everyone, I'm completely new to smartphones, just bought an Xperia Play 800i. I have been keenly reading the forums, going through everything I need to know.
My android version is 2.3.4 and build number is 4.0.2.A.0.42. Phone is network locked.
If you don't mind letting me know, the best way to start is by unlocking the SIM right? Then unlock the bootloader, then custom kernel and flashing?
Your advise would be appreciated.
AFAIK regular SIM unlocking doesn't let you unlock your bootloader.
I've read of people who pay a little or get sim unlock from other methods which isn't enough for the bootloader.
It's just that Alejandrissimo's method unlocks both sim & allows for bootloader (it's a 2 for 1 method).
Hope it helps, and if AT&T gives you a free sim unlock code then give it a shot, but it's said it doesn't work that way.
I'm trying Alejandrissimo's method and I'm lost. Have PM'd him and waiting for his reply. I am not on the AT&T network.

Thought that was only T-Mobile. Sadly I dont even have an account with them, Just bought the phone from ebay. So im probably gonna have to spend more to get the thing sim-unlocked.
Oh, look what I found on AT&T's website.
Requirements for monthly wireless plans:
Your wireless service has been active for 90 days or longer
Your account is current and in good standing
Your phone is not sold exclusively by AT&T
Your phone's unlock code is available from the manufacturer
Your phone does not have a long-term exclusive service agreement, or the contract time period has expired

You can get your Xperia unlocked in less than 10 minutes by Alejandrissimo. When he SIM unlocks your Xperia he will also automatically unlock bootloader.
You can visit his website here.

I visited his website, downloaded the zip file, and then I'm stuck not knowing what to do next.
So, you are saying I have to wait for him to respond to my request? So, I guess the USB over Network program will be used by him, to remote unlock my Xperia? I'm cool with that because I want to pay for the service.

[Q] Unable to unlock boot loader (R800i), so sure?

So apparently my xperia play can not have its boot loader unlocked. I did the *#*# code and the unlocking status screen is missing = can not unlock.
#1: Why is this so? This phone (R800i) was bought new (well I got it used off craigslist, but originally it was bought full price in a SE box, unbranded.)
#2: Is there a 3rd party way to unlock the bootloader? Flashtool or something similar?
EDIT: OK, so I did a search, and found something interesting, seems I might be able to unlock the loader after all so I'll try that later. Has anyone had success in doing so?
I am still interested in question #1 above, why is this unlockable, especially a "bought-in-full", non subsidized, non carrier branded device....
Mines a r800i and I bought mine outright I would of thought your would be still unlockable through Sony's way, someone will reply and help u, I'm hoping to do mine soon but mine says it's unlockable when I put the *#*# in goodluck unlocking yours anyway hope it go's well.

REALLY
REALLY F'ing trying to get the flasher program to work. 1st of all, most hosts are down (multiupload or file gone - zshare), 2nd the github I have no idea how that works. Do I want the binary? Some binaries are just the contents (well code) of a txt file (if that makes sense)...
Ok, SO I think I have what is the flasher program, but my java isn't' being found :banghead:
You could try Omnius for SE, that unlocks the bootloader at the same time as unlocking the sim.

[Q]Unlock Bootloader before redeeming Drive offer

As it says in the title, I was too anxious to root my M8 so it was the first thing I did after opening the box. Now after I have rooted the phone I wanted to redeem my google drive offer but oh suprise it says Unable to verify the offer for this device please contact htc support for further assistance... So I guess I am screwed now and i can't get this offer anymore because the bootloader is unlocked right? or is there anyway to get it back to stock to redeem it?
Here is the info google gives about this :
**If I purchased a used/refurbished HTC device or unlocked the bootloader on my device, can I redeem the offer?
No. The offer is only available to original buyer of a device over its lifetime. Users who unlock the bootloader on their device are not eligible to receive this offer.**
I think you can S-Off, relock the boot loader, redeem offer, and then unlock.
I am S-Off I have tried to flash the stock recovery and oem relock the device with "fastboot oem lock" and it does not work I am trying to reach out to google and htc for support (maybe they can add it directly to my account somehow)
Same @tawer don't think we should be penalised for unlocking our bootloader personally I think it's wrong

Just goto HTC website and do a live chat. They will request details of your phone and send you a link for the Google Drive offer.. I did this after I rooted my phone. Great customer service.
Great news I will try the htc live chat and report back here, for the record my phone is from Rogers Canada. And btw 50 go of google drive for two years equate about 24$ so i guess it's not that bad if we can't get it
Awesome news ! since there is no live chat here in Canada I called HTC directly and 5 minutes later I received an email with a link to activate my free storage! It was super easy give it a try guys! She only asked for cell number, provider, name, email and imei
No joy for me
Petr D.: Ok, I will have to check some details with our escalation team. It will be a moment
Elsworth: ok
Petr D.: I am sorry but the offer is not valid for devices with unlock bootloader
Elsworth: ok, Well thats a bit unfair
Elsworth: If i knew that was going to be the case i would of got a nexus device :-/

I can verify that it works if you go into Google drive before unlocking the bootloader
realize this post is kind of old, but I just had the same problem.
Went to online chat with HTC and they fixed it up for me in a few minutes.
I said nothing about boot loader, just put "problems with google drive promotion" in the chat subject.
What was strange was that they guy asked me:
"Thanks for that information. Our system indicates that you requested to unlock the bootloader of the phone. Is this correct?"
I played dumb from then out because I never requested this via the HTC dev site.
He sent me a promo code via e-mail directly.

You did better that me. I asked on chat and got this and they wouldn't budge:
"xx: Unfortunately I have checked the system and your phone after imei and the software has been modified
xx: hence you are not entitled to receive a free google drive storage
xx: I am afraid"
They wouldn't budge. Not sure how they know I've modified the software - I didn't unlock my bootlader via HTC. Obviously I've let them know somehow (they did ask for my IMEI).
I simply followed the directions to lock (not relock) the bootloader from an ADB console, got the upgrade, then used the same directions to unlock the bootloader. Note that you have to be S-off to follow those directions.
All it required was a reboot for each state change.

Ok... I unlocked using HTC method (with .bin file) and am rooted. But not S-off.
So if I get sunshine and do S-off, then I can lock the bootloader and redeem, and then use the.bin file to unlock again?
I would be very upset if HTC didn't honor this promotion. I unlocked the bootloader pursuant their website (which they permitted according their "open attitude") and without warning that the promotion would be rendered invalid.

I'm not sure if "relocked" counts the same as "locked" for the offer, because I was S-off the same day I activated the phone, but it might be worth a shot. If it still doesn't fly, going S-off and resetting it to "locked" definitely works.

I just wonder if they were sent information from the phone when it was first unlocked.
I mean I would argue all day long that yes, I did request the unlock, but that I changed my mind and didn't actually unlock the phone. Unless they could prove it, they would not be showing good faith in their relationship with their customers.
The only way they could prove it would be by admitting unauthorized (or not clearly authorized) collection of information that notified them that my bootloader was unlocked.

I unlocked my phone with Sunshine and when requesting the offer via the online support chat facility I was told after giving them my IMEI "I've checked on the system, and I can see you've modified your phone". Kinda worries me they could tell that remotely. I've never been near the official bootloader unlock.
Anyway - I relocked my bootloader and managed to successfully claim the space just via the App!

Question Oneplus 9 Pro T-mobile US Sim Unlock

I bought an OP9Pro Tmobile variant this week, and I want to flash another custom ROM than OOS, but I realized that I need to unlock the sim to unlock the bootloader. Is there eligibility or a requirement to unlock the network sim?
If it's too long I'm planning to return it.

1. Pay off device if it isn't already or convince someone on TMO chat to perm sim unlock you
2. Get your unlock code from bootloader and send into oneplus and wait about 7 to 14 days to get the unlock.bin file
3. Unlock device once you get the bin file
4. Flash a custom rom
Edit: this will always be like that when buying a device from TMO

You can definitely unlock the bootloader and flash stuff without the sim being unlocked but I'm not sure if that helps you in this case. What mvno is it?
For what it's worth, I bought mine a week ago. On the first day, I talked to 6 support agents. Some on the phone, some in chat, some on twitter @tmobilehelp.
If you insist you can have it unlocked because you bought it outright and own the device, need to unlock the bootloader for development, someone will try to help.
I had two agents who tried to unlock it for me but said they can't because the IMEI starts with 99 and tmobile devices are typically 35. They said they escalated it and I should be able to unlock within 48 hours.
One twitter agent asked me for receipt to submit with the request so it's not denied.
I'm currently on a sim locked eu-flashed le2127. I plan to flash back to stock tmo this weekend. I was waiting for my cust-unlock token from OnePlus.
I am going to flash stock tmo, use One+_TooL to turn on oem unlock in settings, flash cust-unlock.bin to unlock bootloader and root. Then I am going to attempt the sim unlock after root, to see if I can see anything we may be able to use later for self unlocking

I was able to get unlocked today.
I got a reply from @tmobilehelp on Twitter saying "we escalated the request to the unlock team. They received an error during unlock. You have to talk to the manufacturer". Of course OnePlus says TMobile will have to unlock the phone (but OnePlus is supposed to reach out tomorrow, the guy said he would check into other methods for me to bypass TMobile. Not expecting anything)
Then I asked her if she could try to submit it again because I was on the network now and wasn't on the network the first time I asked (I have an active account but my sim wasn't in the 9 Pro).
She asked me for a full receipt instead of my edited receipt so she could submit it again showing proof I own the phone fully.
While I was getting that documentation ready, she flagged me down in a Twitter DM to say:
"Upon further investigation into your IMEI, we were able to approve your unlock request. You are now able to unlock via the in-phone unlock button!"
She said "your phone comes back as 'purchased directly from TMobile', which is a different process. I did not realize this at first but now your request is done and will unlock"
You may get lucky finding her on Twitter again and going for the same story. She knows how to get it handled. Her name is Yecenia. When she's active on Twitter, you will see her replying to people complaining @TmobileHelp with "^YeceniaFlores" as the signature (or similar). Maybe ask for her to help if you get another agent. Explain that you own the phone and want to unlock it for development, offer to show proof of purchase and see what happens
