What is your opinion about the site?
http://www.pdafresh.net

you wouldn't be trying to promote it would you?

This is not a promotion
Of course NOT! :!:
I'm only trying to get some help for further develope.
Thanx

When you have 69 different calc programs you should have some more sub catigories, business, scientific, diet calc etc... also you should have a user review/comment section for every entry, let users tell you what they think of the product, this will take care of alot of conent and ranks the program for you.

And don't load all avaliable programs on the front page, make a recordset navigation set and show XX records on the front page.
Takes forever to load, remember that you should strive and strive for quick load times and have as little kb on each page as possible.

And by the way, make an Advanced Search so I can search in each category.
Youll get there, it's just a matter of time

Seems like a variation on the Mobile Application Catalog, nice idea.

New programs on pdafresh.net
There are a several new applications avaiable at http://www.pdafresh.net

I just had a look at your site again. So I just realised that your making static html pages, or it looks that way.
Is this the case?? Are you not using a database??

Not yet. Why?

pdafresh said:
Not yet. Why?
Click to collapse
Because it wil be an impossible mission to make the smalest change to your site.
You should begin to build your DB as soon as possible, and get the programs categorized in it.
Developers wanting to add a new program, can do so while your drinking coffee, and don't need to sit and make yet another Static page.
Your Menu will be dynamically update by itself when new programs are added.
Advanced Search function can be build.
Etc. Etc. Etc.
Only ++++++ for DB, and - - - - - - - - - to infinity for Static HTML

Thank you for your advise! I'm planning to make some structural changes on the site.
Actually the current version is a half automatic system. All the html pages generated automatically.

Any Forums?
Do you plan to make forums on the site?

Welcome to the improved XDA-developers forum

First of all: don't worry. Everything you are used to is still here. Your username still exists, all the messages are still here, and we're all still here.
There are a few changes though:
You can set a country flag, as well as which device(s) you have and a home GSM-provider. These will be displayed in icon form with your messages. It's completely uncomplicated and much more fun if everyone participates. So please use the 'Profile' button in the menu above to set these things for you. They help others help you by knowing what device you have and what provider you are using.
Topics now have an extra property, which defines whether they are relevant for the original XDA, for the XDA II or for both. A small icon shows with each message. You can set this property when you start a new topic.
The separate XDAII board is gone. All messages there have been moved to the forum where they are most appropriate (see below). The fact that the messages were originally posted in XDAII now shows with an icon.
We now allow attachments, both in forum postings and in Private Messages, sized up to 50MB (!).
The boards have new names, and are slightly re-organized:
[list:42f131921e]
General
Current events, news, etc.
Using it
messages formerly in 'PocketPC' go here.
Not too technical, about use and peculiarities.
Unlocking it
formerly called 'Unlocking'
Networking it
formerly called 'GPRS/WAP settings'
Stocking up for it
formerly called 'Accessories'
Upgrading and modifying it
formerly 'ROM updates'
Hacking it
formerly 'Programmers corner' and 'Other techie stuff'
Anything but it
formerly called 'Off-topic'
[/list:u:42f131921e]
We currently use the plain-vanilla 'subSilver' phpBB style. Expect further changes to the way things look over the next few days. Please let me know by clicking 'PM' under this message if anything that used to work for you all of a sudden isn't working anymore.
Hope you like it...
New look
Sexy!
Wow ! well done ! certainly a lot of work ...thanks
Sure does and it looks good too! 8)
But found the following to be missing:
no USA T-Mobile listed under GSM Provider
no AT&T radio stacks listed under Radio Version.

Whoops. Fixed.

We're still confused about all these Radio Stack Upgrade numbers. And if we are confused, imagine what that means for the poor folks out there. But I will include some more numbers tomorrow...
A couple of suggestions:
In the ROM Version setting of the profile, there should be a "kitchen" option for 4.00.16, since this is on at least one kitchen (perhaps "kitchen" ought to be a check box?)
I don't know that I would have chosen to have a merged 'update it' forum for XDAI and XDAII. Most readers are interested in info for one device and dont care about the other.

Done. I might make it a checkbox later on.

I was planning to create a one-click filter option for 'viewforum.php'.
Why damn, this blob-thing is ... growing.
As you may have seen the forum now has it's own hostname: forum.xda-developers.com. All existing links (/forum and /phpBB) will redirect to the correct thread or post on the new hostname (using a rewrite rule and sending HTTP 'Moved Permanently').
The uncompressed database for the forum is now 40 MB, the entire site is sending and receiving a few GigaBytes per day, to and from over 2500 unique IP-numbers each day.
Congradulation!
Hello
Well done and great work, keep it up.
thanks with best regards.
Othman
looks alrite but i miss the yellowy colour scheme now looks like every other forum on the web lol
how strange ...
the DB is only 40Mb ... this fits on 10% of my stamp size SD card ...
and yet, with just 2500 db-access (and how many posts? probably 100kb)
we get Giga bytes of traffic....
Just think how wasteful we're with current technology....
This goes double for a Pocket PC with two wireless communications,
100's of Mb of data, 400Mhz cpu ... and all that it does is displaying
who is calling your phone
Hmmm ....
[this is not a flame of the site or the PPC.... just a note on the status of the information/software age of the 21st century in general]
Looks

No worries: this is temporary. There will be some proper design-work done on the entire site.
This is a good opportunity to say "Thank you" to Mario Giambanco, whose ideas and kind offer to work on the site prompted me to do some cleanup first, which resulted in the changes you see. Between him, myself, and hopefully some other volunteers we can now start to do a major overhaul concerning the looks and stale content of the main site.
The new 'main site' is going to be database-generated (from the phpBB database), and will have at least 'News' and 'FAQ' pages, pointing to topics on the forum. This will mean the 'main site' will be much more of an up-to-date tribute to the collective work of all of you on the forum, instead of a somewhat stale collection of some cool stuff we did way back. Creating layout in the way we did it before is just too much work.
Welcome to our new face
It looks very nice
But maybe we need added section: download & upgrade hardware ???
very nice
Simply An excellent job
I preferred the old one. bah humbug
Thank You!
Thanks! For all the hard work it is much appreciated
Keep burning the midnight oil, it can only get better! ( like the XDA II )
Kind Regards, StayLucky Jim.
Hacking it ?
I written quite a few custom applications for the XDA and your site has some interesting infomation that has helped me.
I have replied a couple of times too with some code snipits.
All was very professional.
Now the Programmers Corner is under Hacking it, so I must of now become a Hacker. An interesting term, that I will have to add to my CV and see if it effects my future software appointments.
At last! Your decision to migrate to 2.0.6 is very welcome
If you interested - I can suggest two mobile adaptations for phpbb:
- read only version optimized for using as Mobile Favorites/Avantgo channels
and
- fully functional version for using from mobile devices.
These versions were developed and tested for one of the mostly visited (264,100 messages currently) PDA-related site in Russia http://www.handy.ru/board Unfortunately, all of the site is on Russian, but you may look though the following links just to smell it:
Mobile Favorites/AvantGo version:
Setup channels (Controls translation: forum name; timeframe; pictures (all/smiles only/none); link conversion mode; signatures on/off)
Ready-to-synchronize channel link (two days plus vacations, smiles only, links converted to text, without signatures).
Online mobile version: (banners should be visible from desktop PC only)
Forum index
Forum page
Topic discussion
All security is the same as in desktop phpbb version. Almost all functionality is implemented except site administration, advanced moderation panel (topic joining/splitting/mass deletes) and profile changing/private messaging.
These forum versions not include support for skins or language resources (sorry, but I develop them as fast as I can). So translation to English and slight adaptation to your mods (if any) needed. But I'm ready for this job.
The only main forum changes needed are:
- adding 4 lines to template variables array initialization;
- modifying 4 template files to add links to mobile versions;

It seemed like a logical term to combine 'Programmers corner' and the little used 'Other techie stuff'. We think of the term 'hacker' as meaning a benign and very advanced programmer or techie, and not in any negative media-sensationalist terms. (Even though some of us do smile when we take the SIMlock off.)
Ofcourse if you think the rest of the world would see this differently, you're welcome to say 'Programmers corner' in future job applications.
I sincerely hope this linguistic issue will not keep you from continuing to benefit and contribute in the future.

CycloneApps[By Request][Export-Studio V4.0][CycloneSender V3.0][CSort 1.0]

Hello Everyone,
I am a avid, aspiring developer, and as such I felt it would be mutually beneficial to start this thread. The Point of this this is for you [the users] to post up ideas for programs, and some sketch-ups of designs, and in return, I will try to make, and maintain, these applications.
In doing this, I will get the experience I need, and you [the users] will get the results that you [hopefully] want.
Below is [or will be soon enough] a list of programs that are developed or in the process of consideration.
Please refer to HERE for a updated list of projects...that will be my new place for updates!
Project List:
AutoSend - Scheduled SMS Sender [V3.0]
CMail - A Replacement tmail for Devs and Advanced Users[V1.0]
CSlide - A "Slide-To" like application that utilizes the JOGGR Bar for a Finger-Friendly Action Slider! [Concept]
Export-Studio - A FREE alternative app to export Contacts and SMS[V4.0 + Command Line Version]
Appointmentor - A command-line based app for creating appointments quickly and easily [V1.0]
ContactRetriever - A command-line based app for getting info on a specific contact! [V3.0]
CSort - A Command-Line based List Sorter (designed with MortScripters in mind) [V1.0]
*As you can see, the list is sort of pathetic now, but with your help, I can bulk it up*
SMS messenger
I would like an SMS type of instant messenger. The kind my Tmobile WM 6.0 came with. Like "Oz Instant Messaging". I have tried all the different cab files out there for OZ and can't get any of them to work with 3VO Rom. I do not have a data package with my phone and want to use an SMS type of messenger. Thanks for any help.

I will do what I can after I release the current SMS project I am working on.
I am aware that different messengers (or atleast AIM) has a number that you can txt to do chatting. I suppose what you are asking for is a GUI for performing such tasks? If so, once I fully comprehend the entire aspect of sending a SMS, i can probably make this GUI. Otherwise, please explain.
CycloneSender - AutoSend
Here is my FIRST RELEASE of an exe application for the Excalibur (EVER!).
NOTE: DUE TO THE RELEASE OF CMessageSuite, UPDATES WILL NOT BE PROVIDED FOR THIS PROGRAM ANY LONGER
CycloneSender - AutoSend[V3.5]
Basically, what this program does is allow you to program in set Dates and Times for SMS/TXT Messages to be sent. You can program events (with the application) up to 4 years in the future, down to the minute!
This program includes:
A Simple, Easy to Use GUI
Decent RAM/CPU Usage (there is always room for improvement)
An effective automating system (no need to monitor)
IT IS TOTALLY FREE (well, Donations are accepted )
To Install:
Simply download the attached .cab file and place it on your phone.
Run the .cab file and that is it.
To Use:
In the Start Menu, there is a new folder for my applications, navigate to that and there are two links
"CycloneSender" will run the actual application.
"Check for New" will run the automated portion of this app and check to see if there are pending events for the day, and if so, it will take the necessary actions.
Tips:
When you EXIT the main application, the automated portion of the app is run (so that newly programmed events can be parsed)
This program is accurate to the MINUTE, therefore if you set a message for 17:00 (Yes, it is in 24-hour mode), and the automated portion runs at 16:55:33, then the text message will be sent at 17:00:33 (Implementation for accuracy to the second may be included in newer released)
Known Bugs/Issues:
Unknown Results occur when two messages are scheduled for the EXACT SAME TIME [I will test this out]
When you add a recipient, you cannot delete it (will be fixed soon)
V3.0 UPDATE
This update owes big thanks to XDA user Mohitsapru. Thanks to his help, the efficiency of this application has well more than doubled! In this new version, there is no constantly running application and uses LESS ram! Same GUI, etc. ENJOY
(NEW CAB IS POSTED BELOW)
V3.5 UPDATE
This update allows you to program in MULTIPLE recipients. All recipients will receive the message at the same time. Also, some code optimization.
While I did the coding (for 99% of the part) myself, credit has to go to HowdyKeith who made the restart script for me (which plays a decently big part in making the program run smoothly) and to many other users on this forum that have helped me learn what I have.
With all that said, Enjoy the Application (and remember, donations appreciated )
Could i suggest you provide the proper info about the what it does in your first post next time thanks sounds kinda cool might try it one day.

CycloneSender - AutoSend[V1.0]
Basically, what this program does is allow you to program in set Dates and Times for SMS/TXT Messages to be sent. You can program events (with the application) up to 4 years in the future, down to the minute!
This program includes:
A Simple, Easy to Use GUI
Decent RAM/CPU Usage (there is always room for improvement)
An effective automating system (no need to monitor)
IT IS TOTALLY FREE (well, Donations are accepted )

Yes, and probably a little bit more, but Power SMS costs $$, while the one I am actively developing (as per request, bug report, etc.) comes at no charge to users (unless they so choose to donate, but that is not mandatory).
The point of doing this is mutually beneficial:
1- I get some more coding 'experience'/'knowledge'
2- Users get products that are free of charge!
All i need are ideas!
Speaking of which:
UPDATE
-I should have a basic release of CMail.exe tomorrow, allowing users to send SMS and E-Mail through command line interfaces (MortScript especially).
-While it doesn't seem like a gigantic improvement over tmail now, it can be once I add more features onto it (need Ideas!!!)...
All looking good and know what you mean using as a learnin block too
Will give a shot tom when got some free time... Keep up the good work
UPDATE
As per request, ScreenShots are posted in the AutoSend Post!
Also, New CONCEPTUAL project posted in First Post (CSlide) ... Will start on that once bugs in AutoSend are cleared and CMail is released...
EDIT:: New Update: Thanks to loads of help from mohitsapru , I will be releasing a much more energy efficient version of AutoSend in the next day or so. CMail may be delayed a little bit...

I am not sure what type of program it was. It was OZ messenger as far as the research I have done. It was an IM application that came with my T-mobile DASH. It did not require any type of data plan to run the application. It was a simple text messenger. I was told by others in these forums that it was OZ messenger, but the ones I find here will not seem to work with my 3VO Rom. I hope that clears things up....it's only confused me more.
Well, I am not going to reinvent the wheel since that will only produce a square wheel and a waste of some time. Haha Basically, I don't want to attempt to recreate a working app because I will end up making a pretty buggy, CPU intensive one . I believe that with OZ Messenger you may have to search for a CONFIGURATION of your connection settings (if using T-Mobile, atleast for me, I had to do some tinkering once). It plagued me for a while to get it working, but now it works on my phone!
Good Luck
CMAIL V1.0
This program is an alternative to tmail.exe that was created so that people can either use it on their own, or use it WITH an application of their own. It is similar to the sender executable which is supplied with CycloneSender V1.0, however works differently.
This program includes:
A constantly maintained Documentation of ALL its functions.
The ability to Send SMS messages
A light-weight, command-line based program
To Install:
No real install...Just take the file and unzip it and put the CMail.exe where-ever you want.
To Use:
As I mentioned, the Documentation is supplied (in the compressed file) and it contains all the methods you can call on in.
In order to execute, you have to use MortScript to run it, an application of your own, or CeleCMD ... or even a Shortcut if you can figure that out.
*DISCLAIMER* THIS IS 100% COMMAND-LINE BASED, AND AS SUCH IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR GENERAL END-USERS UNLESS THEY ARE AWARE ON HOW TO USE THE APPLICATION. (No damages can really be done to the phone using this incorrectly...)
Known Bugs/Issues
None so far (YES!)
Future Ideas:
MMS (?)
E-Mail
Please remember that I use my own time to make these free, useful alternatives! I couldn't do this without the help of other XDA Forum members. (Donations are appreciated!)
Please Comment and give me ideas for more functions
Export-Studio[V4.0]
This application is a very useful free alternative to those expensive Contact backup applications. It will backup/export your Contacts and SMS[V2].
UPDATE: V2.5 Released. Command-Line and GUI versions bundled into ONE EXE.
UPDATE: V3.0 Released. Now you can export Contacts in VCF format!
UPDATE: V3.1 Released. Fixes error with missing DLL.
UPDATE: V4.0 Released. Expands the export capabilities of Contacts!
This program includes:
A super-simple, lightweight GUI
The Ability to backup Contacts and SMS
Three modes of exporting: TXT and CSV and VCF
A comand-line based version of the GUI program
To Install:
Simply download the CAB file, and install it
Then navigate to Start Menu > CycloneApps > ExportStudio
and voila!
To use:
First, run the app and you will see 3 areas : What you want to output, the output format, and the folder to write to.
Select what you want to ouput
Make sure to ONLY PUT THE FOLDER in the folder text box, or you will get errors or weird results...
Once set up, click export, and the application will do its thing!
If you want to use the command-line feature, then just run the same EXE as for the GUI with parameters afterwards (see documentation)
Tips:
While the CSV format can be opened in Excel or the likes, I find that the TXT format is more organized.
Known Bugs/Issues:
There may be some slight errors in the CSV file (this is tested with OpenOffice on Windows Vista).
None others... YAY
Remember please, that I did this coding on my own and with the motivation and help of other users on the XDA Forums. I do this to practice coding for myself and to provide free alternatives of apps for the users of our beloved Excalibur. While the programs are 100% free, donations are appreciated .
UPDATE:
CycloneSender AutoSend V3.0 Just released! Enjoy the improvements (no noticable changes in GUI).
Progress is being made on Export Studio
Requests for new applications are MORE THAN WELCOME
UPDATE
ExportStudio V2.0 IS NOW OUT WITH SMS BACKUP CAPABILITIES!
More Ideas are welcome!

[app] iAgenda 0.495 (Update May 26, 2010) Finger-friendly Calendar and Tasks

Project stopped (temporarily?)
Because my phone broke, I decided to get an Android phone, and am not sure if/when I'll continue this project. (see post 130). Sorry
Previously at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=515903 Since the original developer seems to have abandoned this project, I'm starting a new thread and continuing the development.
Main webpage: http://sites.google.com/site/iappsdevteam/Home/applications/iagenda
As per request, I'll upload new versions as they are developed, even if only minor. That also means, there is an increased risk of system crashes.
Download: Below and https://sites.google.com/site/iappsdevteam/Home/applications/iagenda
Version 0.494 May 26, 2010
Part of the edit screen is working.
Version 0.49 April 14, 2010
Added weekday to group headers
New default skin by Livven
Option in Settings to choose start screen
Added enable checkbox to Settings for those who have issues with the checkboxes crashing
Tried another bugfix for the checkbox (please let me know if it works)
Earlier versions
Bugfix (I hope) for allday appointments showing on two days(edit 4/19/10: still not working quite right).
Reintroduced sorting of tasks
Reintroduced timefilter for appointments (be aware though that if you have a lot of recurring appointments, setting the filter to 1 year, could take quite a time to load - Please give me feedback.
Tasks with a start date before today will show in Agenda view
Recurring appointments will show for the next 31 days (yearly recurring will show next 365 days)
Multiday appointments will show on all days in the appointment screen
Categories are shown on the edit screen
Even with large number of repeating appointments, the list should refresh relatively fast.
Tasks completed today will show with a check.
Program is no longer using caches for data, which means that every time it's opened, current data is used.
Recurring appointments: Will show yearly recurring appointments for the following year with the number of recurrences (mainly to see age for birthdays), and other recurring appointment for the next month.
It's now possible to mark items complete on the main lists.
Improved filtering and sorting
Bottom bar for calendar shows current date
Version 0.4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3789949&postcount=1 or http://sites.google.com/site/iappsdevteam/Home/applications/iagenda
Overview of iAgenda:
iAgenda is a finger-friendly appointments and tasks viewer for Windows Mobile PocketPC phones (all resolutions). It's easily skinnable, intuitive, and can be used instead of the standard Windows Mobile Pocket Outlook Calendar.
It is based on iContact (supbro version) source code, available here:
http://supware.net/iContact
iContact is used as a "scrollable framework" for applications that have the same look and feel. Program is written in C++.
iAgenda has the usual 5 buttons interface:
all appointments
all tasks
agenda view (today's appointments and tasks)
settings
search calendar
iAgenda can be localized. The default is "english.lng", which can be used as a base for translations. Other languages:
Czech (it's a little unclear if this works, one person says no, so please let me know)
Dutch
French
German
Greek
Hungarian
Italian
Norwegian
Romanian it's a little unclear if any of these two files for Romanian works.
Romanian_diacritics
Russian
Spanish
Language files be found here http://sites.google.com/site/iappsdevteam/Home/applications/iagenda/languages. If you have other language translations, you can submit them in this thread and I'll add them to the web page.
The source code is available through Svn at GoogleCode:
http://code.google.com/p/iagenda/
Skins can be found here: http://sites.google.com/site/iappsdevteam/Home/applications/iagenda/skins. See below for an example.
Current plans:
Option to reverse direction of slide.
Improve the settings integration.
Finger friendly edit screen.
Other todo items can be found here: http://sites.google.com/site/iappsdevteam/Home/todo-s/iagenda.
Keep the suggestions coming.

Wow, great! I'll definitely follow the development of this .
I'm just working on some skins for iContact and iAgenda too! If you need some graphics just tell me, I'm willing to help.
exciting.
I will be following your progress. good luck... ...and may the force be with you- always.
Nice one. Will follow this development. Thanks for the effort.
Does this work on a qvga device? if not can you please release a qvga version?
It works on all resolutions.
Graphics help anyone?
I'm working on the code for being able to complete tasks on the main pages. In order to have it look nice, the icon for favorites (a star in the default theme), needs to be replaced with checkboxes (empty and checked). I did something preliminary, but it looks pretty bad.
So if someone wants to help that would be great. I've attached the default skin file.
If possible, it would be great if they would be transparent.
Also everyone skinning, should be aware of this, so they make the proper icons in the skin file.
Additionally, the settings icon is the same as for iContact. Anyone want to help me there? File attached.
A preview of the default.png is attached, but it's automatically compressed so I attached a ZIP as well. Is the blue okay or do you want it in green?
I did not make new icons, perhaps later.

Thanks for the translation! I'll put it on the web page.
If you read the first post, it only says I've started working on it, there is no new version yet. I thought I might have a version out before the weekend, but realized a bug had been introduced in a revision I wasn't aware of until now, so it might take a little longer to get rid of it.
Otherwise the code for checking off items on the main page is partially ready.
However, I have a question: The list is filtered so that only incomplete items are shown, so when a task is checked complete, it immediately disappears from the list. Until I change the filtering code, would it be acceptable to have a message box (like currently) when you are asked to confirm completing? Or should I just wait with the release until I rewrite the filtering code, so that completed items will be seen on the list with a checkmark?
Awesome! Anyone know how to make this the default calendar application?

I was just going to ask you to include exactly that . Anyway, I'd prefer if you release every minor version like nightlys (or weeklys or monthlys ), but only if that doesn't make too much work for you.

Ok, I'll do that, but prepared for bugs!
New version uploaded.
I have a problem with the previous an this new version too(I haven't use the program before) that makes quite difficult to use the program.
If I change the date from month screen to any other date exept the current, every single action takes at least a minute to complete, starting from taping on a date.
This behaviur stops only if I switch again to the current date.
Is this issue mentioned before?

If you have a really big file with lots of recurring appointments and tasks, that can happen.
And that's why I'm working on accessing the pim.vol file directly which should speed things up.
In the meantime you can go to the settings program, under Show Next: 1 week, 2 weeks etc. Try and shorten the time and see if that helps. Please report back.
No, I haven't any task or appointment. Only calendar events for name days. I have Show Next:1 week, but the problem still remains.

CycloneApps[By Request][ContactRetriever 3.0][CMessageSuite V1.0][CBRunner V1.0]

Project List:
AutoSend - Scheduled SMS Sender [V3.5][NO LONGER BEING UPDATED]
CMail - A Replacement tmail for Devs and Advanced Users[V1.0]
Export-Studio - A FREE alternative app to export Contacts and SMS[V4.0 + Command Line Version]
Appointmentor - A command-line based app for creating appointments quickly and easily [V1.5]
ContactRetriever - A command-line based app for getting info on a specific contact! [V3.5]
CDL - A Command-Line based File downloader (designed with MortScripter's in mind) [Release Delayed]
CSort - A Command-Line based List Sorter (designed with MortScripters in mind) [V2.0]
ImgResize - A Command-Line based Image Resizer (Resize + Crop) [V2.0]
All2Reg - Based off of Msg2Reg, this will export MANY things to registry [Coming Soon]
TornadoClean - A utility for deleting old files/SMS/MMS/EMAILS with certain 'traits' specified by the user [Conceptual - PsuedoCode Stage]
CBRunner - [Idea courtesy of HowdyKeith] Runs EXE's (and possibly other file types like MP3, etc.) In the background so MortScripters can do their stuff! [V1.0]
CMessageSuite - A Re-Make of AutoSend with more features! [V1.0]
*As you can see, the list is sort of pathetic now, but with your help, I can bulk it up*
UPDATE:
A command-line version of Export Studio is now posted for all you Scripters!
Appointmentor[V1.5]
This program allows scripters and devs to quickly and easily make appointments. This program features the ability to set every parameter that a user could set thru the calendar itself (I believe...)
This Program Includes:
A documentation explaining all parameters
A small cmd-line app for creating appointments.
To Install:
Just download and extract the ZIP file to anywhere on your phone, and you are done!
To use:
Follow the parameters in the documentation, but as for running it, run it like any other command-line based program.
Tips:
Not all parameters must be set, as I have preset defaults (shown in documentation).
EDIT: DOWNLOADS REUPLOADED
V1.5 Update:
In this update, you can DELETE scheduled appointments. This feature has not been thoroughly tested, so errors may occur. Will test in near future. (If users could post back successes/failures it would help).
Please test it out!
*While I coded this on my own, credit must be given to google and this forum for its constant help in everything I do. Please don't forget that while these apps are free, donations are appreciated!*
Update:
I fixed up a major issue in Appointmentor and re-uploaded it. Now it should work. All documentation is provided in the ZIP file. Please test and post results and ideas!!!!
Image Resizer [V2.0](Command-Line Utility)
This application is a command-line based app for resizing images.
All instructions are provided in the Documentation.txt
Enjoy!
V1.5 Update:
In this version of the program, Cropping is now available. Look at the docs to find out how to use it. I also fixed an issue with Naming, so now the outputted file has the ACTUAL size of the image (not what is inputted in some cases). Also, you can use PERCENTAGE to resize/crop. Lastly, you can now simply convert your file from one extension to another.
V2.0 Update:
In this version, BatchCropping and BatchResizing is now available. Look at the docs to find out how to use it. This comes in handy when dealing with many pics in a folder. Please report back any bugs that are found
DISCLAIMER::::::
I did not code this program fully by myself. For the original Image Resizing project visit:

ContactRetriever V3.5
This application allows a scripter or dev to export a specific contact's data for easy use!
This program includes:
A simple, easy to follow documentation and functionality
A light-weight solution for getting contact info.
A SUPER EASY GUI (contacts menu) when not wanting to start it in CommandLine mode.
The ability to export specific contacts (or many) as VCF files
To Install/Use
Just unzip the ZIP file and read the documentation!
(To use the GUI, just run the app WITHOUT parameters, to use the CMD run it WITH paramteres)
Bugs:
None so far!
V3.5 Update:
In this version, you can find contacts by partial (or full) phone numbers! Read the docs for more info.
Please remember that while I did the coding on my own, help came from XDA and Google and the millions of resources on the net. Please remember that while this application is free, Donations are greatly appreciated!
Enjoy!
UPDATE:::
Export-Studio 2.5 Is now out.
2.5 Has the ability to set the NUMBER of Contacts/SMS to be exported (with a safeguard that if the number is too high or is 0, it will set it to the maximum).
Expect an upgrade to Export-Studio 3.0 Soon (ability to export to VCF, and maybe MMS implementations).
Expect a new CMail to come out (ability to send E-Mail's via commandline and maybe MMS implementations).
Contact related app...
I've been searching for an app that allows to browse the contact list (with a scrollable list of names for a GUI... similar to Outlook or any other contact manager) and retrieves a selected contact full name as a reg key (my point would be using it in conjunction with MortScript and go2contact to add a dynamic contact launcher feature to my HS++ skin... guess it would be usefull for other skinning engines too).
Would you be willing to do such an app?

Sure would be! I will just implement a GUI into ContactRetriever! Expect a release in 10 minutes TOPS.
UPDATE::
Export-Studio 3.0 Now released - Can export Contacts as vCard (VCF) format!
UPDATE::
ContactRetriever 1.5 NOW released - Has a really simple GUI (same functions)!!
UPDATE::
ContactRetriever 2.0 NOW released - Ability to export as VCF, control # of contacts, and WILDCARD'ing
Thank you so much! Just tried it and this was what I was looking for.
There seems to be an issue though... I can only get stuff from the first contact in the list... Also the name will be in all caps and have an underscore before it... I can't get any other contatcs info in the reg...
how about Cdown.exe -url "http:.../file.zip" -outp ".../file-Downd.zip"
as smartphones cant do that w/mort atm...

Added to project list....WOrking on it
Thank you so much for fixing ContactRetriever
While the paint is still fresh... Any chance on creating a value for the selected contact named "LastSelectedContact" (or something else) where the contact name is the data (without the preceding underscore and case sensitive like Outlook). Would really make it a lot easier to MortScript (I really have no idea how to get just the desired part of the key and remove the underscore).
Hope I'm not abusing of your good will...
Hey, so I can't really make a key that is for "lastcontact" because the command-line users may export a whole bunch of them (as you can see, I implemented the ability to export based on Wildcards)....
As for removing the underscore and such, I put that there as a standard for users so that they know what WAS created by my program, or what was created by something else that may have used the same area (rare, but possible).
Anyways, if you want to format it, do a substring on the Key name using the indexOf the _ as the ending for the first and that + 1 for the start of the second, then bring it all to lowercase then make the first uppercase (through substringing?) I don't know the mort-commands, but I am sure you can figure it out by asking HowdyKeith or posting on the MortScript thread or reading the Manual on Mort's website.
Good Luck
Thanks for the info. I've been reading the txt manual of Mortscript and it's kind of incomplete compared to the pdf... I'll read it tomorrow (must sleep) but until now I didn't find a function that returns the reg key (because it'll be random). I'm sure the substring bit will help.
Just found my contact list got sort of messed up by some app I used (guess it's too late to find out which one...) All the names (first and last) are now stored in the first name box... I didn't notice it before so I didn't get why was there a _ before the name even when I had a last name too.
Ok.
How about CSort.exe -inp "/path/Unsorted.txt" -outp "/path/sorted.txt"
maybe the option to dump the output into a regkey:
Sorted1=Alimoney
Sorted2=Bingo
...
If we r dumping to a reg folder, why not import from a registry folder too?
So i know u got the picture taking exe.
what about calling the Camera get picture class? Like your contact retriever calls the GUI.
I have to think about it to see if that makes sense.

I am using Managed C# code, and the most 'power' that I get in terms of taking photos is just to start up the 'dialog' with certain paramters....so in MortScript, a script can just call it, then send the "ENTER" button to start and "ENTER" to stop (if it is a video) or save (if it is a photo)....
*FYI: The Camera App I am developing is currently in Private Beta, release soon enough*
So as far as contacts posted to the reg from contact retriever.
It probly should always delete the prior searches unless you give it a command -keep
For the advanced hacker: SQL database access and posting.
Do u have a Microsoft Bluetooth stack? There is no toggler for Widcomm Bluetooth. PhoneAlarm controls the bt just fine, so it's not impossible.
Can you turn on and off the flash? Other apps do it, so that's a low priority. But if you could and u added that function to an all in one tool, that would be cool.
Make a contact from a command line.
Can u change the power profiles? Normal/Headset/Auto...
Can u get the accelerometer info? i dont have one. Detect stylus removed from a command line?
I really hope u can get the sorter to the registry, so i am holding my breath til then.
Thanks Dude.

So a while back, when I got my brilliant Excalibur, I started developing small applications. Some of you may recall the, now long dead , thread I had called CycloneApps [By Request]. I started with C#, and did some ok things [in my opinion] and they helped serve as a learning block for bigger and better developments. I have gone from CMail.exe, the command-line replacement to tmail.exe, all the way to FFP_LockScreen [Fake FingerPrint LockScreen], which unfortunately was aimed at Touch-Screen phone users as a project I undertook as I showed interest on a thread in the Software Development sub-forum. I got my original inspirations and 'drive' to develop from this here community, the Excalibur owners or supporters, and I thought it be best that I now fulfill a request made by Ookba, the great Chef who has brought our phones new life.
See, shortly after I started taking requests, Ookba suggested I re-make SMSBubbles to be more functional with the ROM. At the time, with the speeds of the .NET CF, it seemed impossible to really do. But I come back to you all now with the knowledge of C++ So as a token of my appreciation to all Excalibur owners, I want to develop CycBubbles, an SMSBubbles remake with features YOU want!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Having said all of that, I ask now that if anyone has any interest in such a program becoming available to the Excalibur, they reply to this thread with Ideas concerning one of the following:
Soft-Keys: What should the LEFT soft-key and RIGHT soft-key do [ and under what circumstances] ?
Look and Feel: Do you like the SMSBubbles 'bubble', or do you want something different? [Realize that more complex designs = slower speed]
Rules: How about some filter-rules about when the bubble should or should NOT appear.
Positioning: Do we all like the bubble at the bottom of the screen? Maybe we can make it more PPC-Like if it were in the Center, or from the TOP.
Extra Functions: What kind of extras would you like? (i.e. Should I utilize the 0 - 9 keys on the keyboard to do something?)
Once I get the ideas from YOU guys/girls, on what YOU want this program to do, I can start developing
Please consider
if you want to see this program really flourish
Reserved for later use
Rules would be awesome. How about setting bubbles only for certain contacts? Would the .cab install work for other ROM's besides ookba's?
I would most definitely aim to make the program ROM INdependent.
Thank You for the feedback
it would be interesting to make the left and right soft keys customizable...
and as for the location/look of the bubbles, that to would be nice to customize and to relocate wherever the user feels. top, bottom, left, right, center...
the rules sounds good, and maybe apply an ignore feature to certain annoying contacts lol. like a black list on contacts that the bubbles won't show up for.<-- pretty much what Frostmoon said. lol
pretty much make it user customizable friendly.
nice to see you around these parts again.
Due to the rather disheartening amount of feedback on this thread, I will most likely not develop this in the near future .
I am currently consumed with finishing up my next version of Fake FingerPrint LockScreen for Touch-Screen phones, but that should be over in about a week.
I have been pondering re-starting development on my Horizon Home-Screen, if any of you remember that (if not, you can search it). My further knowledge of C++ will most definitely assist me in making this HomeScreen I had dreamed of making a while back when I only knew C#.
So I suppose be on the lookout for any news on that, and check here occassionally to see if I post back. For now, I am going to leave this on Stage 1 (Gathering Ideas), NOT DISCONTINUED, because I do hope to have the time to come back to this soon and give back to the community that started me off

Yeah it's a real shame as the idea was requested by users yet response so small, no longer have an Excalibur but think that the development of a SMS bubble app with more configurable options would be welcomed by many smartphone users and not just Excalibur, maybe worth thinking as a project for D&H rather than just Excalibur users.
>sms bubble duration
>marque of sms
>if recived multiple sms we shuld b able to select the one to view....
>customizable soft buttons becoz diffrent user wants different settings..
>user created themes
> rules is another great idea... coz somtimes service provider sends lots of annoing sms + others
>hide the vip sms.. and it requires password to view the sms( it can b a seperate function to lock the sms bubble with password)
>photo of the sender... if it is from the saved contact...
> a floating bubble would b great the flows from up-down or vice versa.... until the user press a button..

As stated above, good ideas!
@Cyclonezephyrxz7 - This can be a good start don't you think?. Thanks for your work dude, I hope to see this project rolling out
@Mr.Clown (and all others too)
Yes, it did serve as a sort of inspiration to start up. Thank You to those who did contribute ideas thus-far. I have not started up a thread yet, but http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7166724&postcount=39
Expect something soon (Within a month maybe?)
Also, I am now officially a co-founder, and primary developer for Chicken-Egg Solutions. This will become my main venue for application development and requests, as well as web-design, computer repair, and problem solutions (Most of these will be taken care of by my friend, the other Co-Founder). The website will be up soon (www.chicken-eggsolutions.com), check back every so often
Hi Cyclone,
We met in another thread. But I would like to raise my function request here for your consideration.
I am looking for a delivery note management function that allows my to keep track of my sms receiver. I would like to know who, by name, have received my sms and at what time. I don't know if such function is appropriate for the software you are developing. If so, please consider to add this function into it. If not, appreciate if you can point me to the right direction.
So are you requesting, as opposed to the normal Delivery Requests that Windows Offers, to make a type of 'Delivery Notification' that gets stored in some XML-like file for future reference?
It will be great if the software can list out the receiver name and date/time of the delivery notification. It will ever greater if it can match the sms/delivery notification with the acknowledgement send out by the receiver after receiving my sms.
If it only output an XML, user will have to figure out how to display it on a mobile phone.
how about an option of reading the incoming sms....like in nokia mobiles
Like Text-To-Speech?

ya... how about that.. i think it shuld be customizable soft button or a different button..
I will see. I feel that that may increase the size of the app distinctly, and also distinctly reduce the speed. Although I could probably figure a way to not let it be affected.
Anywho, Thank you, ALL, so much for these ideas. I suppose that I will start attempting to make this once I am fully done with my FFP_LS pro (Which, by the way, works on Excaliburs! and other non-touch-screen phones ) and when I get my internet back fully.

Thanks for your work and for sharing it, we will wait then
Revised Idea, and then some
Okay, so this post contains a little meat to it
1) I want to let people know about FFP_LockScreen Pro 2.0, now available on my website( www.chicken-eggsolutions.com ). My partner and I do app development as well as web design/development. FFP_LS Pro 2.0 is fully based on C++, has many customizable components, and best of all it is (what I consider to be) a pretty legitimate replacement lock for our phones. I have made this version (and all future versions) compliant with our lovely Excaliburs. Instead of having to press the screen, trick people with a "slight of hand" by putting your finger on-screen while pressing the space-bar with your knuckle (thats how it works for me) and it will start scanning. Trust me, it mystified half my family already haha. Anywho, it is shareware, so there is a free NON-EXPIRING trial. THe trial has its limiatations however. Also, another feature that is in this for our lovely Exca's that is currently NOT available to TOuch-Screen phones is true replacement (sorta) of the default lock. By using specific API commands, I was able to get it to run when we initiate the default lock! Cocky as it may sound, I feel this lockscreen beats S2U2 in 3 ways: (1) Tests have shown it to boot faster, (2) it actually replaces the default lock, and doesn't use some timeout trick, and (3) is actually blocks other windows [unlike S2U2 which can be overridden by pressing the TaskManager key or Messaging Key (on my phone at least)]. So yeah, personally I recommend it, but I made it. I will extend the same challenge here as I did on the Development forums: If you can make an interesting skin for the program, you can win a free license (3$ value)
2) So recently I have become extremely pissed off with tmail.exe. When I have actual 'conversation - length' messages, it is slow and just overall frustrating! So I thought, "Hey, I am already starting CycBubbles...why not make it a whole 'suite' type thing". So I am considering making my own Messaging Client EXE. It would be a major switch, as it would eliminate CE MAPI for the most part (it would keep messages stored there, but its main access would be via XML). Then as an extension to this I can h ave CycBubbles. Generally, I find, SMSBubbles works...and it is reliant on CE Mapi, so I can make one reliant on XML, not CE MAPI, that works comfortably with my own client. What do you think of that idea? This would obviously require a lot more time. But if it is what I imagine I can do, it will be faster and better
So I guess that is it really... If i remember anything else I wanted to say, I will post back again!
