[WM5] Voice Dial (Cyberon Voice Dialer) WORKING! - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

EDIT: It works! Just install the .cab
If you want to use ms voice commander instead just copy voicecmd.exe to \windows\sdialer.exe
BUGS: the control panel applet doesn't work, maybe because we're missing the above, and the record button goes to voice dial
To use just go to a contact and choose add voice tag in the context menu, then go to the programs and choose voice dial or press the record button or press your headset button
Use this one instead:

Are you able to send commands from your bluetooth headset? Or is it using the phone mic? When i try saying a command directly into my headset it doesnt work. I use a SE HBH-200

I want to use windows voice command 1.5. with the Jas Jar. When I try to copy the file voicecmd.exe and rename it to sddialer.exe and try to copy it to the windows folder it says Access is denied. It looks like its in rom. I cannot rename it.

Take a look at the registry key HKLM\software\OEM\voicecommand
there is a subkey you can change from sddialer.exe to \program files\voice command\voicecmd.exe -- this will allow you to use the BT headset to initiate VC

Thanks ebadger! It worked like a charm! The built in one sucks because it does not have a voice engine.
Mike

wow this looks interesting, i'll play around with this

Application audio over bluetooth?

Having installed TOMTOM6 on my HTC-3300 (t-Mob branded) I am looking for a way to route TOMTOM traffic messages thru my bluetooth carkit.
Obviously the phone calls go through fine, but afaik all the pda apps. sounds only run thru the mda's speaker.
Does anyone know a workaround or reg. tweak to do this?, I can't immagine I am the only one who would be looking for such functionality.....unless everybody else uses the gps function only 4 walking
Help much appreciated,
Frans
If your car kit supports the A2DP profile for Audio over Bluetooth and you select the option to use it all the audio from TomTom will be via the car kit, check what your car kit is capable of supporting - Mike

I'm using btaudio
greetz
Thanks for the tips!
My Nokia carkit does not support A2DP, it's the old CK-7W type....
I will try the above attached btaudio once more. Previous attempts using this program were not succesful, I believe the bt hardware of the artemis was not recognized.
I remember that on my IPAQ 5550 I changed a registry setting, enabling audio over BT, but I could not find such an entry in the Artemis reg.
Keep you posted on progress, and thanks sofar!
Succes!
Just tried btaudio, attached by hotatomic, and it works!!!!
Haven't tried what happens if I get an incoming call yet, but the sound for TT6 is much better using the Nokia handsfree.
Thanks!!!
Hi guys,
I'm a newbie here, and was pointed to your excellent forum from one of the Mods over at pocketgpsworld.com.
I am running copilot 6 on an O2-registered xda Orbit, using a scala rider headset, on my motorbike, and i need to install btaudio.cab to mt xda in order for the insturctions to be relayed to my earpiece. My question is this - whereabouts to do i need to upload the file to on my xda (obviously somewhere in the copilot files, but i'm not sure where!!) and do i need to unpack it first?
Any help or tips gratefully recieved!!
Welsh Biker
No transfer the cab file directly to the orbit, (storage card is usually the best place to put them).
Then in file explorer, double click the .cab file to run it and it will install the application.
It's a separate application to Copilot.

i have a orbit and i installed the btaudio cab but unfortunately it doesnt work for me. do i need to change any other setting for it to work properly? i am using a motorola hs350 headset. i am trying to use it to listen to music on my headset instead of the internal speaker. i tested tomtom6 with it and that is still being heard on the speaker and not the headset. thanks
Connect the headset to the Artemis first, then run BTAudio, switch to "on" and then minimize don't exit the program.
Have you got software that closes apps by pressing the x button or something, so that you keep switching the app off when activating tomtom etc.
how silly of me, checked settings menu, connections menu everything except the program menu!!!
Thanks a lot mate
Hi,
I seem to be having the same problem as some of the other guys. The Bt software is installed on my Orbit, I pair the phone with my car then switch the software on. At this stage the TomTom voice stops coming from the phone but doesn't come through the handfree either. If I switch the software off again the sound returns to the phone.
Is this being caused by the format of the handfree kit in my car as mentioned on the first page of this post?? How would I positively confirm the format of my handsfree kit?
Cheers
Rob.
i try to install and it works, but when i turn on audio my radio goes in mute, is possible to send the sound only when tomtom talk?
Hi all
I also need help with audio features. Is there an app that will send all audio through the head phone socket (connected to autocom on motorbike) and phone calls through bluetooth have tryed the app in this tread but it wont split it only redirects all audio?
PS sorry for the high jack of your thread just seemed a good place to ask this.

MS Voice Command 1.6 BT over headset with latest wm6 roms.

Some of you may have noticed that with the newest release of LVSW ROM 3.30.2.1 (2007-05-19) that the old hacks for MS VC do not work getting voice command over bt headset.
LVSW's ROM comes with Cyberon VC but the nice thing is it can be removed via remove programs so remove it and then unpair your headset and turn on/off the phone to start fresh.
1.) Install MS VC 1.6
2.) Install attached .cab
3.) In programs launch BT Voice Command Config
4.) Check enable
5.) Click save
6.) Click Exit
7.) Turn off phone
8.) Turn on phone
9.) Pair bt headset
I take no credit for this program it was done by XCSdM and later modified by ZaJules..
This works perfect for me no other tricks or reg edits zilch, nada, nothing. You might want to set voice command to button 5 though.
I'm using Elfs variant of the newest LVSW and it doesn't come with Cyberon VC and it works perfect for me.
So has it worked for anyone?
I just tried it but it doesn't work for me.
Can you give me some more info like what ROM are you using etc? What headset?
It worked for me but only after doing some changes in the registry. The path in OEM/Voicecommand was directed towards "BTVCBasic" and i had to redirect it to BTVoiceCommand. Then, it worked.

Thank you for your help and the cab, though. I am a happy camper now with MS VC initiation working through my Bluetooth headset
Works!
VC1.6 now works thru the BT (Jawbone). Only notifications still come through the TyTN's speaker.
THANKS!
I just installed wince on a friend computer since my trial is up and checked the .cab I posted and the registry inside does set it to BTVoiceCommand.exe
So the only thing I can think of is maybe someone used the old version. I dunno but it should be correct..

The notifications have never worked and its a known problem with htc and ms so who knows if a fix will ever be released..
I changed the file name in case others were using a old one or something.
Trying to get it to work on a plantronics headset and it does not work.
Changed path to point to BTVoicecommand.exe so now it does launch the program, but on the handset, not on the headset...

Delete pairing, SR, re-pair and try again. Sometimes that fixes it.
Also note that this is only for LVSW ROM 3.30.2.1 (2007-05-19)..

Yup worked for me. But then it worked for me right out of the packet... but then started doing the I'm gonna ignore your BT headset thingy. This fixed it, pretty much, obviously no notifications , and I still can't persuade the button on my Motorola S9's to launch M$ VC (jus' dials last number). But otherwise, thanks.
BTW
If anyone knows how to get the phone buttom on my S9 headset to launch M$ VC then I'd be very grateful... having to press button 5 atm.
The only ROM I can get this to work on currently is Black Satin on my BT8010..
Schaps latest ROM is a no go :-(
This is working for me with the registry change to btvoicecommand.exe. But I have a strange problem (no, not THAT problem...): the first time I use VC from my bluetooth HF it works fine. If I use it again soon after that (to dial someone else, etc.), it takes 30 seconds to a minute to prompt me for the command. To get it to respond properly again, I have to soft reset, but it still only prompts me quickly once before hanging again.
I'm running Black Satin and VC 160.4622.0.
Any news on BT Notifications?
VC 1.6 on vp3g works fine over BT for me with the above steps, except the known issue with notifications over BT. Has anyone heard any news that a fix has been found for the BT notifications issue? I really hate not having them.

MS voice command 1.6 + wm6

MS Voice Command 1.6 and wm6 (on a dutch T-mobile compact III) does not seem to work...
Any one has this working? Especially caller recognition over Bluetooth.
I’ve tried "MS Voice Command 1.6 (WM6 working) Download", no succes.
Maybe speed dial is interfering…
Is speed dial a ext rom feature?

Any one know how to open speed dial again with the headset button?
I downloaded this, tried it, it didn't work very well for me, so I uninstalled it. When I tried to go back to using my default Voice Dialing software, all my voice tags were deleted. And the worse part, is that my BT kit does not work correctly now. Some kind of registry edit I believe. This sucks.

I finally got this to work yesterday. I installed it on a new ROM and it works pretty good. In the BT Voice Command prog, I had to disable the XCSdM check box to get the issues with the BT channel staying open resolved. Recognition is fair on the handset but it's very good in the car with the Parrot BT kit which is odd. It used to be just the opposite with 1.5. I can now totally control the phone with the car kit which is great for me because that's the only time I use voice commands.
Only downside is that this program is such a memory hog! I hoover around 15 Megs avg. Only 21 Megs available at startup. I'm just using it normally to see if WM6 will be able to manage the memory well enough so that it doesn't make a difference. I use X-Button too so maybe it won't be a problem, but at the first low memory message, I'm dumping this program and going back to Cyberon Voice Dialer.
It's just nice to use while your switching out ROMs cause you don't have to set up voice tags every time.
I have a fully wired parrot and found it awful. Stationary, great, can dial, start programs no probs. But once Im on the motorway doing anything over 40mph it just will not recognise what im saying. Went back to the build in recognition of the parrot which was flawless

Yea, that sounds exactly the way it was for me with v1.5 on WM2003. Had to be completely quiet in the car for it to work. But now v1.6 seems to work fine. Do you have the microphone ACG disabled? Also, do you have all options unchecked in the BT Voice Command prog?

Voice Command for the Touch HD

OK, so it's for all Windows Mobile compatible devices, but how cool (with varying degree of usefulness) would voice commands be on the Touch HD!

Hopefully I'm receiving my HD this morning. I'll load MS Voice Command 1.6 and see how it performs then report back. I find it a must have app.
When I'm in my car using TomTom, it is great to use my BT headset button to talk to my Trinity. I can tell it to "start" TomTom, email and explorer and any other apps in the Start Menu. For example, I say "call" Joe Black, it then asks if I want to call Joe Black at home, office, mobile. I say "mobile " my phone then dials Joe Black on his mobile phone without touching the phone. There is no need to program voice tags for MS Voice Command, it takes the names directly from your contact database. There is a special hack file to get my BT working with MS voice, I hope it works on my HD as well.

my bad, we get the cyberon version here in Thailand with the Diamond as standard but MS works on the diamond too
MS Voice Command only ships on devices if the Operator requests it.
AT&T did not include Voice Command on the Tilt until their WM6.1 ROM was released, but it will ship from the start on the HTC Fuze. When I purchased an unlocked US 3G Diamond, it also had Voice Command on it.
Just for the record, nobody should ask for/post their CAB installer for Voice Command since it would technically be warez. On the devices that ship with it preloaded, it comes in the form of an OEM package, not a CAB file.
So I really would like to know if MS voice command 1.6 works on the touch hd. especially with the bluetooth headset. Can anyone confirm that this works? Matterhorn?
Thanks.
I have installed it on my HD and it works fine via a long key press on the left virtual button. It cooperates nicely with my Jabra handsfree also.

I can confirm that MS Voice Command 1.6 is working great on my HD. It did give some kind of error message when it installed but just ignore it. It must be installed to internal memory...supposedly. It is working great with my JawBoneII BT headset. Long press activates voice command. You'll need to go into the buttons settings on your HD and set the long press of the "Call" button to VoiceCommand.
On my Trinity I had a hack file to get the BT headset working with Voice Command. I needed BTtools to get the Activesync working over BT. I never could get GPS to work on more than one app at once. These are all problems of the past! The HD is taking everything that I throw at it...so far.
How do you initiate a voice command without a headset?
MS Voice Command works
I have MS VC on my HD and it works great. I had purchased it a while back. I believe 1.6 is the latest version. I have it working with my bluetooth in my car. I have an Alpine radio. It has a Bluetooth connect that when you activate blue tooth, it announces over the speakers in my car. Its very nice. I remapped MS VC to my Volume control using AE Button Plus. Both are great programs and im loving my HD more every day.

Look at my post above
Go to settings/buttons and change the "long-press" to MS VoiceCommand. It is the answer button.
It is really fantastic to see Voice Command 1.6 perform on the HD, way better than the first versions I used in the past. If only there would be a way to make VC understand that my music collection is mostly English titles - they sound really funny in the German VC version

Error on sending files over bluetooth directly with Resco Explorer

If I try to send a file by BT directly in Resco Explorer 2008 v7.5 by selecting Send To > Bluetooth recipient I get an error message "Bluetooth device-activation failed. Switch on Bluetooth manually. Do you want to disable Bluetooth functionality? YES / NO"
(message text could be slighty different as I am using Dutch language)
If I select yes, it defaults back to Explorer view (of course) and Send to > Bluetooth recipient option is now greyed out.
If I select no, it continues to a screen titled "Send file(s) (OBEX)" with a list selection window view titled "Select device:". The window only a line "search" as if it is a link but nothing happens when I touch it and besides it doesn't list any nearby devices, just stays empty. Left soft key says "Send" and right soft key says "Cancel".
I've done some reading here on XDA and on the Resco site and came accross similar problems, where some stated I should uncheck the "Use IrDA trough OBEX" setting in the General options section wherafter I should select Send to > IR recipient instead of BT recipient to send my files.
If I try this it shows a different discovery window with a Bluetooth icon named Search and a progress indicator ( . > .. > ... ) but still no nearby device is found.
Do I have to update the BT stack to get this working? Any other hints or tips? Thanks!
Bad Bluetooth Stack
I have the same problem and have not found a solution as of yet. Not to impressed with the stock Bluetooth. There are some devices I have not been able to connect to which worked flawlessly with the TouchPro. Anyone know of any Bluetooth fixes? I don't like HTC's control of the Bluetooth devices.
I'm having the same problem when trying to exchange file(s) with another phone via bluetooth. Resco Explorer don't recognize TP2's Bluetooth. If any of you can teach me how to transfer for example a cab file via bluetooth to another phone will be great!!! I can't do that in the Send Object function in the Default Bluetooth App.
use the normal file explorer. click and hold on the file. there is an option to send via bluetooth in the context menu.

That figures... I can't understand why HTC has chosen this BT stack instead of the one supplied with Blackstone for instance...
It is because Rodhium has got 2.1 Blutooth capability wich is not driven by the official Microsoft Blutooth stack (only 2.0). We have to wait for WM 6.5 to have the microsoft stack back, maybe... i hope so...
