Which one will be your choice? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Accessories

Mugen Power will have an after-market battery for the Universal, so which one will be your choice ?
Original - Capacity: 1620 mAh, Weight: 44g

The Universal is big and heavy as it is (I love the machine though), so I would welcome every additional drop of energy/autonomy WITHOUT adding to its size .... 1800 for me it would be then ...

how will a much thicker Battery work? With that a new Bettery/Camera Cover will be needed ?!?!

Analysis
to Wiz: thanks for your suggestion.
to m.zielinski: for the extended battery, we will have a tailor-made battery cover for it..

Just a stupide question, can this cover aslo include a Lens protection for the camera?
How big will it be ?

to Daimaou : yes...we will develop a cover that can protect the lens also. no need to worry about it

A better camera-cover would be a benefit in itself - so te maximum acceptable thickness would depend much on the concrete design of the extended Battery because you cant ever have enough mAh aside

Great, you have a client !

How much difference in Battery life does a 1800 mah get from 1620 mah?
If you can fit a 3600 mah battery in there without having it stick out, I would very much prefer that.

I'd go for the largest one, most definitely. I could not find a link to post my vote though, where is it?

I'd go for the largest one provided:
- it is not ridiculously expensive. $300 is ridiculously expensive. $200, I will have to wait for a special occasion like xmas. $99 and my credit card is out already.
- the extended size and weight does not require some hokey solution, and comes with a proper battery/lens cover that looks professional (although it is hard to get more hokey than what it is now anyways)
- the device still sits on its 4 little feet with the extended battery

Dear all,
Thanks for all your suggestion, we will consider the suggestion to develop the battery. So your suggestion is very important to us.

So, Mr MugenPower, when the battery is going to be available and how can we get it? Can you post some information whenever its available, pictures will be helpful and also purchasing information.
Your web site was not helpful btw. :`(

Here is a reseller that sells Mugen Power Batterys, there isn't a Universal one yet tho.
http://etxquc.simplyonline.com/default.cfm

Not that I'm looking for the work D) but I would humbly suggest you consider rethinking the way in which you categorise your product lines. The user experience could be considerably improved were you to introduce some form of assisted, device-based product location or even make clearer the relationship between battery and device.
Additionally, you might consider implementing an online store, or assisting the user in locating a dealer.
Just my $0.2

Dear all,
Thanks for all your information. We are now developing this battery and you know it's not easy to make the O2 battery. We need to test the battery and we need to have a lot of modification before it launch.
Pls keep on watching this we-site, I will post the latest information, such as photo and data in this forum.
If u have any suggestion or comment, pls do PM me .....
Thanks.

I don't know how to vote. I tried clicking, but that did not do anything. If given the choice, I'll go for the bigest capacity they can offer. Anyway I'll just keep that as a backup just in case the XDA Exec dies on me.

to cktlcmd:
the poll has ended, anyway I will keep on watching this thread...
thanks for yr suggestion.
In case you have any suggestion, please do leave a message in this thread..
thanks

I would vote for the first battery: Its almost lighter than the original one and although has more mAh! - This is great!

Just a quick thought......any external charger for the spare battery? It'll be good if it charges the exec and spare batt simultaneously!!

[Q] Atom life battery purchase

Dear friends,
After my recent tryst with Atom Life, I found the battery at sub-par level, so felt like buying another more powerful one for me. I searched on ebay & found someone in agency in Hongkong selling the battery.
Battery offered is of 2200mah & 2400mah. As per the seller it requires new back cover to fit the battery which comes along with the sales package.
My hesitation lies in the probability that may arise because of New battery & New back cover. I found people saying that there is some problem with batteries & cover don't fit well.
I call upon all of those who have been through this experience to come out with their views to if it is a nice option to buy a battery & is it safe or is the back cover fits well.
Hope my friends will help me in saving me in case its not the right option which would guide similar attempts of buying a new battery.
Kindly quote your price at which you bought your Battery.

Saksham Katyal
Guyz please come out with your replies. I need your views as I have to finalise the deal in days to come.

Seidio extended battery... IT'S COMING!

I know many of us have been anxiously waiting to see for an extended battery option from Seidio (or other reputable 3rd party), but nobody has announced one for the Captivate until now. Finally:
http://www.seidioonline.com/category-s/4411.htm
Unfortunately, no mention of price or when it will be released as it's currently "under development" but that they have added it to their store is exciting enough!
Yeah I just saw that too, and wow 3200mah is huge!
Do you think they will make a case for it? I have the body glove that was launched with the phone. I kind of like it. Has anyone purchased from these guys before? Any experiences to share. Did you buy a case? They made a huge battery for the EVO didn't they?
This means a battery about 2 times as thick as the current one, so expect a custom back with a bumpout for battery.
The Moto Droid 2800 extended battery is $69 so this one will be between $70 and $90 - I would rather have a spare battery or an external rechargeable charger for half the price. I would never make "The Captain" thicker. No pot bellies (or junk in the trunk) on my captain just a slim toned physique.
But Seido has always made a good product - usually they can take the current sized battery and squeeze a little more in - like an 1800mAh in the current size. I hope.
Has anyone actually tried to wrap their head around what this thing will look like?
Our fancy locking closure will either make this thing hideous or cause our phones to look like the back of an Incredible (which I don't mind personally, I liked the terraced back. It reminds me of the zen like nature of steppes carved into a mountain for hillside farming.)
Either way, I want one. I'm just actually trying to fathom the design, and what will happen to the sound quality being the speaker is built underneath the battery cover.
We'll see... I don't think it will be that bad, as the Evo battery only adds "5-6mm" to the phone and that is a 3500mAh battery. But given the option, I would prefer a battery in the range of 2200-2400mAh that only adds maybe 2-3mm. But beggars can't be choosers.
If they could crank out a 1800mAh "slim" battery that does not require a cover, that would be excellent as well. They have 1750mAh for the Incredible and Evo, so who knows.
I have one of their "big" 2600 mAh batteries for my old Bold 9000 and while it put hump in its back, it fit my hand great and having that extra power was fantastic. I'll get this when it comes out.
Im totally down for this hopefully they make the back tapered and not just a straight "step" up, I'm 6 foot 3 and consequently have large hands so I wouldnt even mind my phone being a lil bit thicker.

16 reviews for a company that has been selling accessories for many years (5 that i know of) is not much of a statistic.
I can tell you that, when I was a moderator for Qusers, many people bought from Seido and never had a problem. that doesn't mean there is no problem, but everyone I know that has bought from Seido was satisfied. Their products are regularly review by major blogs, and amazon shoppers give their cases 4.5/5.
I have shopped at hundreds of sites and never filled out a review for resellerratings - so I am not sure that they are the best source for any information.
From my knowledge of the company I would not hesitate to buy from them. if they put out a 2000mAh battery that is the same size as OEM, i will buy it in a second.
I would rather leave the internal battery in place and add a accessory cover with a priority battery slot. The internal battery might have to be replaced with one a mm or two shorter to allow room for the internal battery disconect. With an internal secondary and external primary, the phone could remain in operation during battery changes. Yes, this would add a hump, but I think the phone would fit my hand better...
mm.. I really rather have the same size format but a little more juice to it..1800mAh
how much more juice would that be compared to the standard 1500 :O

Anyone know of any extended life battery for this phone yet. This is insane this phone has been out a while there should be somethin. I saw the vibrant has a 3000mah, bout to get that and just stick it in without the back cover and throw a silicon case over to hold it in. Saw that amzer has a 1600 but thats almost not worth it.

"Samsung launches the Power Pack EBB-U10 for the Galaxy S i9000 in Germany. The Power Pack is an external battery that attaches to the back of the phone basicallt and offers 8.5 hours talk time and 500 hours of talk time."
So is that 508.5 hours of talk time?

Checking the power usage, most if it is being used by you guess it...
The display. For me this number flirts around 50%. That's a boat load of usage compared to everything else!
I guess Motorola didn't choose an energy efficient panel.

I was rather amazed to hear that the screen sucks so much battery! Thought a 3.1 low-res screen would rather give a better battery life.
May be a custom ROM with some tweaks can take care of this.
I'm going to leave brightness on about 40% for the day and see what happens. I normally have on auto brightness, and my usage does show the display using about 50% of the juice.
Yeah with respect to the display I don't think an HTC phone would be that high... Odd choice moto!

how much thickness does the extended battery add? it's hard to tell from the picture, but it still looks like the there is the raised portion at the top of the device for the camera
Not much... I hardly even notice its there. The new battery backing even keeps a slight curve as the original slimmer one did.
I'm really happy this is an original Motorola product and the battery cover / door looks just like the thin one with the silver swirls and all.

cool. might have to pick one up from my local store.
Hi to everyone,
is there any lucky owner of Motorola Extended battery who can tell me how thick is phone with extended door? I ask one seller and he tell me Droid Pro with this original extended battery is about 1/2" thicker than with standard 1420 mah battery. But after I have read this thread I think it must be nosense. But there is no exact infor and no photo anywhere. Thanks a lot!
I'm really surprised to read about everyone having battery problems. I wouldn't describe myself a heavy user, but I do make several calls, send and receive a boatload of texts, have widgets that require data pulls set for every 30 minutes, do a small amount of internet browsing, and use the mp3 player for an of hour or so while working out and I have had nothing but amazing battery life. Being a BB convert a couple of devices ago, I can say with certainty that this, being my 3rd Android phone, has the best battery life so far. I usually unplug around 6am and by 11pm, I'm still at about 60-70%. No android device that I know of can touch the battery life of a BB, but this one has been very good so far.
It adds more weight than thickness imo. The battery is probably 1/8" thicker and the soor the same. Probably adds 1/4" more thickness overall, but there is a great weight different to me. Seem to hold a good charge though. Worth the $34 to me.
im really interested in this

Has anyone tried to fit the otterbox in w extended battery? May try to hack up the case so it will fit when i get it
I was able to cut out the back on the standard cover for the extended battery to stick out, and the otterbox seems to fit fine. If you don't want to cut your back cover, you can just leave the back off since the otterbox protects it, though I still like the idea of having an internal cover. I may go back and put some sort of rubber seal around the battery opening just in case. Will post pics later

Video Review: Mugen Power 3200 mah Extended Battery!!!

Hi Guys,
Got my hands on the Mugen Power 3200 mah extended battery, it is FANTASTIC. The replacement cover does a great job at keeping the same texture of the original back cover. It adds some thickness but still feels natural and comfortable in your hand. Performance wise, it is great as well, some users could get 2+ days out of it easily. Full review below:

I consider myself a very heavy user (as bad as that may seem) so whilst out of my house, apart from when I'm driving, I'll be on my phone. Half a day of added battery is great for me and works fine, I'm sure a medium user would get 2 days easily and a light user close to 3 days.
It depends what kind of user you are, light users probably wouldn't pick one up unless they were going out camping for a weekend or something.

Hi, you're very welcome.
I'm pretty sure that something similar to this should do the job:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/trailblazer-advanced-pro-universal-car-charger-and-holder-p27266.htm
Universal car holders should fit the Galaxy S2 with the Mugen as they've been around for awhile now, when phones used to be much bulkier.

Best battery?

Hi
Can someone please reccomend me a battery?
It needs to be reliable and made by a reputable company. I don't want to cut costs by skimping on quality.
I am looking for the largest good quality battery that isn't too huge.

No, a Samsung battery sounds perfect, I didn't know they sold their own.
Can someone tell me where to buy a Samsung battery in the UK?
I would really like to see somewhere with a list of all the batteries samsung sells for this phone.
And is Samsung definitely the best? Or is there another brand that will last longer over time?

That's what I'm doing. 1 2000mAh battery in the phone, one spare. You can get the Korean batteries now that you have a back cover that fits the international version, as they tend to be cheaper from what I've seen. The Korean version of the battery fits well in the international phone with international back cover, but it is just a mite thicker. You may or may not notice the thickness, but it's pretty inconsequential to me. Main thing is that it fits and works!

Hmm the price and size of that battery are very appealing. However there is the issue of the unkown brand. Seems to have good reviews though, so I'm not sure now.
I think carrying a second back cover with me would be stupid, so I am limited to batteries that fit the original cover.
does the phone fit the covers/cases that are out for it still with that thicker cover or it makes the phone to thick for them?
cheers
