Original German MDA Pro ROM - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

In a few message later a user ask for an original MDA PRO rom. I'll receive this Pocketpc between a few days and i want to know if it's possible to backup it before upgrade it to new Jasjar rom.
Is it possible to backup it first using XDA TOOLS?
Where can i find help?
Thank you
Luca

you can also try asking on www.buzzdev.net they are verry experienced in wm2005 roms. so pls. also ask there. I believe they have a programm called tomdump that does this for you. And when you have it, pls share it.

German Qtek 9000 ROM available?

Hello!
The Qtek 9000 is sold in Germany with a ROM dated middle October 2005.
Is this ROM also available for download somewhere?
Unfortunately I couldn't find it yet...
I would like to try it on my MDA Pro!
Deal!
Hey,
I'm looging to change my Qtek german ROM to an English one.
I'm pretty sure we can find a deal in exchanging our ROMs!
But you need to tell me how to extract and how to reflash afterwards.
If interrested contact me.
The english ROM is here on xda-devs-FTP
But: please before flashing your OS upload the german ROM there!
This would be my very best xmas present
Cheers
Ok for your christmas present!
Hello Cendaryn,
I just need coaching or tutorial for extracting and then flashing the ROMs.
If someone tells me how to extract I will post for sure.
And I need also help to flash the english ROM.
Thank you
Well this is my biggest problem - I know how to flash the ROMs but not how to dump them. But I guess a little search in the forum here will help
Cheers
uni_cdl-me_11238_132_10301_ship.exe ) Is this the Qtek ROm? if its not please show me the direction.
Sorry
Sorry with no tutorial I can't help.
I'm really willing to post the german ROM. But haven't a clue where to start.
Does anybody know?
Thank you.
Dumping the ROM seems to be not easy
this is what I found: [Universal] How to d2s (dump) the ROM
I can't help you because I dont have a Universal (Qtek 9000) but I'm very interested in files of this ROM too!!!

Well, you say it.
If I look the post you mention I still have no idea where to start ???
I keep on seeking for complete tutorial.
By the way, does anybody know if changing the ROM is also changing the WM language? Or do I have to change separately?
Thank you.
A ROM also includes the WM language.
Maybe this topic helps:

Near to target ... but ...
Hi,
Thank you for the links, I feel I'm very close to dump the german ROM.
But not done so far.
And I'm becoming impatient because I found the ROM I want to put in place.
Keep on helping me end pray for I resist not to flash the original german ROM.
Arrgh!
I'm going mad to find how to backup original ROM.
Don't know if I will resist any longer to flash without backup.
Would You please try to run grab_it on your Universal?
This would give us a RAW-ROM-Image.
and i need a file dump (TestWM5) of a German ROM.
but you will need a Storage Card to do this.
German ROM needed ?
Hi all,
just reading through this thread here. I have an original VDA-IV with an unchanged ROM. I am trying to convince myself to upgrade to JasJar or O2, but did not do so yet. Any wish for a dump from me ?
(Have to leave now, but am able to do so tomorrow)

Idea
Maybe, we can have it a little easier, because I think, ROM dumping is very difficult and could also be hard to flash on other devices. For MDA compact (HTC Magician) for example, you had to edit the dumped ROM with a binary editor before it worked on other devices. Also, there often were problems with some SD card readers/writers, etc.
The best way would be getting a ROM update from the vendor (e.g Qtek) as a complete EXE-File. This could be flashed on other devices with the maupgrade_noid-Tool from xda developers FTP server.
So, it would be nice of you Qtek users, if you could write an e-mail to Qtek.ch!
They offer updates for Qtek users, but you need to mail your IMEI number. So MDA Pro users are not able to get Qtek updates this way.
I'll do this.. No problem..
Any other requests??

s620 wm5 rom

Okay.. anyone who wants to, can make fun of me for this. I upgraded my nice, factory unlocked, S620 from WM5 to WM6 -without- backing up the ROM (found out later someone posted on here that Sprite Backup can backup ROM's too). Now, I want to go back to WM5. I don't much like the increase in memory leaks that WM6 has. So the question is.... can anyone help me? I had the original HTC WM5 ROM for the s620 on mine... not the T-mobile one. I'd love to go back. Anyone? PM me if you can.... Thanks!!
If anyone has a wm 5 rom i would appreciate one as well
Thank you!
Help, to me.. I need Rom S620 wm5. Thanks!

Safety back-up of my JAMin original WM5 ROM...

Hello Guys!
I have a JAMin G4 that a marketing company gave me for a daily survey.
It's software branded by WIND (an italian mobile provider). I'd really love to flash it with a WM6 ROM but I didnt do that because I'm afraid I won't be able to restore it as it was when they gave it to me.
So...
Is there a way to back-up my original WM5 rom, flash the WM6 and, when it will come the time to give back the Jamin to the owner, flash back my original WM5?
I've tried to find the answer with the "Search" but nothing came up...
Can you help me?
Thanks in advance,
Bodhi3

wiki to the rescue
Just to be 100% sure... I CANNOT make mistakes...
Can you CONFIRM that...
1) I can back-up my original ROM
2) Upgrade to a WM6 Modded ROM
3) When I will have to give my JAMin back... Restore my original (Backed-up) WM5
Thanks,
Bodhi3
if i wanted confimation i would ask in the prohpet forum
where owners of the same device as you are more likely to read your post
and give you the confimation you seek
Thank you very much Rudegar but...I've posted the same thread on the proper section (Prophet) and still no answer... You were the only kind user that gave me a reply... That's why I asked you again...
Btw, just for my own information... do you know if this procedure is possible and reliable on (any) other model?
Thanks for your kindness and patience...
Bodhi3
sorry never owned a prophet myself

Toshiba e830

Hi,
I need some Help with the Toshiba e830.
Well as I know there are no updates whatsoever, but maybe some of you guys can make one. I really want to have at least wm5 because the old wm2003 doesnt seem to work with most new programs (i need the new opera mobile 9.5)
The device is great hardwarewise. I mean it has all i need.
actually i read, that there was an update for the japanese e830 (japanese Rom)
http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?t=214221
there is a link where you can download the rom....
so if anyone of you can do something with it, it would be great.
i have no experience at all with these things.
but i am willing to help with my device.
please guys i need your help....
Comeon guys, is there really nobody willing to help?
Im willing to pay if needed.
im telling you. its a great machine, and most of the newer programs are just made for wm5 or wm6. so is there no solution to this.
i mean there is a bootloader for the japanese rom, cant i backup my own, or write a new rom with wm6 on the pda?
are there any other e830 users?

You should do a wm5 or wm6 rom for such e830 users as me,and somebody maybe pay for it
LOL
thats what im asking others to do...
because i have absolutely no plan at all...
if there are tutorials on how to do it or someone would explain or help how it works im willing and will try it for sure...
and i guess there are still some e830 users out there.
as i understood, the problem is a bootloader to reach the data in the rom of the device...
hehe, im the one who needs help...
anyway, ive found a bootloader and the japanese rom update...
there are two files: eboot.bin and xip.bin ...
so maybe someone of you guys knows anything...
Yeah its me again, a thread with my posts only...
Does anybody know who could be contacted to help me?
i do have a xip.bin and a eboot.bin and the flash program itself...
any help or ideas?
