Wired Headset --> 3.5mm audio jack? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hi all,
Is there any way to get a converter to allow the XDA to output sound to a 3.5mm standard audio jack?
Want to use in the car on auxiliary input.
Is there a way?
Cheers
Aslan

modifying my headset

im pissed of that theres no way of piping sound through the car kit, so i want to know is this possible. i have a haicom charger/gps lead which will provide power and gps, using a cheap type holder. For sound , would it work if i cut off the earpieces, and wire to a jack plug, into my stereo aux input?...if this works, the only drawback is having to switch to aux to take a call, so could i patch in a cheap car kit speaker into the cable.....is there enough power to drive it?, i could then only use the aux input when listening to mp3......
yes it would work
but you need not kill a headset you can get
2.5mm to 3.5mm converters and just use that

Convert wired bluetooth headset to car kit

I'm hoping someone more technical than me will be able to help.
I've added an adapter to my car stereo that basically adds an auxiliary input. I plug my Fuze into the auxiliary input using the adapter that came with the Fuze, and listen to mp3's through the car stereo. This works well, but I don't really like having the adapter and cable always hanging from the phone.
I have a wired bluethooth headset that I don't use, similar to this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875982140
So it's basically a bluetooth dongle with earbuds and a mic wired to it. I was wondering if I clip off the earbuds, and splice those wires into a cable with a headphone jack, then plug the jack into the auxiliary input, will this work for playing music over bluetooth throught the car stereo?
Yep, this works! But depending on the BT-profile you will get bad audio quality with mono-sound...
I guess you get better sound if using bluetooth-stereo headphones. They should have the A2DP-profile!

Video out via 3.5mm jack?

Has anyone who has a version with the 3.5mm audio jack tested video out via that jack?
Waiting patiently for ATT to release my TP2....
did i just read this right...
test video out on the 3.5mm audio jack?
lol the whole purpose of HTC's custom mini-usb is for video out. why would they put video out via the 3.5mm jack?
FYI, they do make RCA outs for the 3.5mm jack. The Ipod's 3.5mm port supports video out.
its called an AV cable, comes standard with any camcorder. They also have a component version. it is 3.5 mm, but a bit different than headphone jacks.

Silly question. Can I use a standard 3.5mm Headphone/Speaker

On the G1 we did not have an option for a 3.5mm Headphone/speaker without using the adapter with built in speaker.
Now the EVO has both a 3.5mm Jack and a standard Micro USB Jack. When I tried to play music through my car stereo, the 3.5mm Jack on my double sided 3.5mm Jack cancels out the speaker, so I can't use the speaker on the phone.
I know it sounds complicated, but for normal talking, can I use the 3.5mm Jack with a standard Headset?
And for the car, would I need a special 3.5mm ---> 3.5mm (with built in speaker?) or do I use another MicroUSB--->3.5mm Adapter.

[Q] Microphone Input

Hi All,
I'm a bit lost with this one and cant quite seem to find\word what I am looking for in my searches.
I basically just want to connect an audio input into my Desire. I assume this is possible as the headphone jack has a Mic input functionality. Any ideas? I am thinking of a short cable that plugs into the headphone socket and has a female 3.5mm jack on the other end into which a standard microphone\aux input can be plugged?
Thanks in advance!
Anyone?

Have you tried something like the iRig? It's predominantly used for connecting electric guitars to iPhones/iPads for use with GarageBand, etc. - plugs into the 3.5mm headphone jack, and has one mono 6.4mm input for guitar cable, and a stereo out for attaching headphones. I haven't yet bought one (hoping to get one soon - about $25 on Amazon, and there are other alternatives) so I can't say for sure that it'd work, but it might be worth investigating some more.
