Ive spent so much time trying to sort this out this weekend short of reinstalling my exchange server im not sure what to do.
I can get activesync working connecting to my exchange server via wifi, it will work ok and then for no reason then start telling me im not authorised to sync. Another one I sometimes get is a serious error has occured when syncing and it packs up working for a hour and then resyncs but any mail ive sent is lost.
Ive logged the connection and im getting 1.1 400 bad request errors or 401 unathorised when it doesnt work.
Give it 10 mins or so and it will work, and then after it while it stops working again.
Ive also noticed that my wifi connection seems to timeout and wants to connect via 3g, its strange as if I disable and reenable it all works ok again but my XDA2 did this too.

Hi, maybe someone can help, i have already tried two different ROMS from this site and my Data connection keeps disconnecting right away after it retrieves something.
For example, once i connect to retreieve email it disconnects, then if i try opening my browser go to google.com and leave it inactive just for a few seconds it disconnects. basically every application i open or close keeps disconnecting me. once connected i am fine, but has anyone else run into this?
I have tried all the different CAB settings for MEdianet
I have a Cingular 8525
I tried Vanilla as well as LVSW Roms, i just would like my data connection to remain on. I am not looking for a tweak which constantly forces it on (unless thats a last resort), i just would like it to behave as it did on WM5
Any help would be really appreciated

the tweak you search for is in the Phone Section of HTweakC... enable always on of a certain connection... and yes it is a last resort... as the OS closes inactivity connections... now the timeout can be changed of course but that requires registry changes under HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr
Connection stays on!

I upgraded my WM5 to WM6.
Now my problem is, if the mobil connect to gprs (automatically,for mail download,...), it doesn`t disconnecting after receiving and stays on line! I tried the settings for the mail account. But nothing helps. The best would, if the data connection disable after same minutes. Save the Bat.
You have a solution for me?

I am sure this has been covered elsewhere but I have searched extensively and cannot find a solution to this.
I am having problems syncing with Windows Live. I have tried pretty much every recent ROM and whenever I go to set up my account, it accepts all my details and goes through the set up procedure, but when it goes to sync, it says Synchronisation has failed because 'Windows Live is unable to connect. The service may be temporarily unavailable or you may be in a place where data coverage isnt very good. please try again later.'
If I log onto the same account on an identical device running wm5 with the non-beta live cab installed, I have no problems.
I have tried with WiFi and 3G and get the same result.
I know its not a problem with signal because I have a wm5 and wm6 device running side-by-side.
When I run the set up on wm5, it automatically initiates an internet connection but on wm6, if I havent already opened up a data connection before starting Windows Live I get an error straight away saying it cant find and active connection.
I have noted that other people have had similar issues but cant find a solution.
The devices I am using are UK Tmobile - could there be a network issue?
Had same problem a while ago when first upgraded to WM6
Tried various flavours including LSVW's but always had the same problem.
I then tried a different radio rom and Custel's great WM6
thankfully all is now working brilliant and never had a problem.
However not sure if this was the change in radio or the flavour of WM6 that caused it to correct.
i also have changed the settings in HTC custom so that in the comms tab i do not have GPRS/3G always on.
I have it set to disconnect.

I had this issue as after a few hours I did figure out one POSSIBLE cause.
When I turned off messenger on my PC, then it was able to sync.
You'd think it wouldn't need that but there you go.

Hi, Kindly wanted to CHRISNASH, if the suggestion our fellow guys suggested resolved the issuse of connecting & syncing with window live as i hav the exact same problem? PLEASE...
i'll try the Custel rom tomorrow - its the only one I haven't tried I think. its certainly not an issue with the desktop as I dont have an account logged on.
I'm pretty sure I havent had these issues with my orange sim so it looks as though it might be tmobile related.
I havent used any connection tweaks so it cant be that.
ill also try one of the earlier lsvw roms which I know worked with my orange sim and see if that works.
any other suggestions would be seriously appreciated as I am running a conference with some students next week and I have planned a load of activities using it!
Windows Live not working with t-mobile and wm6
Well, I just tried my orange sim in my wm6 hermes and Windows Live synced fine. I put my tmobile sim in and it wouldnt sync giving the usual error message that it cant find a connection even when there is one. So I guess there is an issue with tmobile UK and Windows Live on WM6. Interestingly I have no such issues with it on WM5. Unless of course its an issue with the Radio version. I'll test that out now and report back.
Its definitely an issue with tmobileUK, wm6 and windows live, cos I just flashed the same device that had wm6, 1.41.00 radio and tmobile sim and wouldnt sync with windows live, with a wm5 rom and kept everything elas the same and it synced just fine!

has anyone else had their Orbit auto connect to GPRS? Mine was sitting on the desk beside me and just started to connect itself. According to the gprs monitor it then downloaded about 200kb of data. I had no software running in the background. The only software beyond the standard o2 stuff that is installed is CoPilot and Destinator, neither of which were running at the time.
Anyone any idea? I called O2 and put a block on GPRS until i know what's happening, but then that leaves me with the no net access over the phone. But with data costing £3/MB I don't want to risk a huge bill for no reason..
Wasn't quickgps downloading new GPS data was it? If you have autodownload set when data expires, that'll download something every 3 days.

I have that set up to download over activesync and my last sync was only last night. Besides, any time the gps info ran out before I was warned before the connection and could cancel it, this time the Orbit just went right on and connected. Most strange.
If only O2 would do a version of Web n Walk then I just wouldn't care!

Since it's a feature I've never used, on any phone, a thought just struck me; does the device make a gprs connection to O2 Active to receive a MMS? I looked at the GPRS log and it's all received data; nothing was sent..

Yes MMS is transferred over O2 Active/O2 WAP.

I use this app called Nodata...Turns off the GPRS so no accidental access and big ££££ (or €€€€)

Thanks for the help everyone - I checked with my friends and it turns out that someone was trying to send me an MMS, so problem solved! I'll install nodata all the same though!
Hiya i hope someone can help, i took delivery of my MDA compact 3 yesterday to replace my aging blue angel. Everything went well until i connected it up to the computer. I already have active sync 4.5 installed for my previous phone. But as soon as i connect the phone via usb to the computer it kills my wifi connection. I have to then re boot the machine to get it running again, im 99% sure this is down to the actual phone as my blue angel has worked for years without this problem. Is there a setting that ive missed?, ive spent hours trying to figure this out now, the phone for some reason appears on my network connections (never happend on old one), ive disabled the network setting but it still kills my net..... aggghhh lol

thanks for that, sorry for the late reply not been online. Anyways ive tried that and its still doing the same thing, ive now started to sync with bluetooth as this solves the problem but not ideal.
Update...... I just loaded wm6 from tmobile website hoping this may solve the problem. I tried that walk thru again and no dice. I kept losing all my internet connections. SO i had a play with the phone and in the settings menu i found a USB to PC icon. I opened that up and UNTICKED "Enable advance network functionality". Pluged the phone again in the usb slot and away she went, all my connections are still live!! yipee.
Hope this helps a fellow member out in the future.

Last week, I moved to Shap's 4.31 Rom FRA; very good one !
Then no problem at all using Exchange sync through Wifi, or 3G or even pass through my home and work PC.
Beginning of this week after several Sync via Wifi and 3G, when I arrived at work I was not able to sync Exchange and AS give me an error 85020006 !!!
I spent few hours, days on Google looking for solutions, comments, .... and after testing lots of recommendation, I was still unable to sync.
But then I've had the idea to relaunch the Connection Setup from Shap's Settings and MIRACLE !! my problem was solved !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I so have one question, what changing done by this Setup ?
Is there somebody with idea ? or even Shap's comment ?
