How do i change the O2 settings in my XDA2 to Orange setting - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Wonder if anybody can help me please!
I've unlocked my XDA2 using the sim unlock tool and my XDA is now running through me Orange sim card. Is there any way i can change the O2 settings to Oranges (i.e so it looks like Oranges M2000). Or is there a way i can chane the O2 Active user interface into Oranges.
Your help would be very much appreciated
Cheers
Daddy
P.S i've just become a dad for the first time, so this would make an excellent gift! Thanks again for reading this.

From this I'm guessing that you have the XDA-IIs - the one with the slide-out keyboard.
You should be able to put the M2000 ROM on to it, someone else should be able to give you the details. Also look in the "Blue Angel" forum.
If you have the XDA-IIi then that would be the Orange M1500 I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Orange ROM
Thanks for your reply!
I have the XDA11 - the one without the pull down keyboard. If there is a way to change it, how do i do it?
Thanks again
Daddy

the xda with the slide out keyboard is called xdaIIs not xdaII
it's a blue angel device not a himalaya device
as TheBrit said look in the blue angel forum where people have the same device as you
or read this

Without the keyboard would be the M1000 or M1500. As far as I know the M1000 is XDA-II (aka Hymalaya) and M1500 is XDA-IIi (aka Alpine). Go to the relevant forum and ask for specific advice there.

Sorry, missed this message when it was posted. I've added it, as well as all new ROM versions since last time I updated the list. Will try to keep up from now on.

Orange Menu on Universal

Hello all,
I don't know whether this has been discussed before or not as I haven't been able to find it. I'm wondering if it's possible to install the Orange Today menu? I'm using the Indra AKU3.2 ROM and I wanted to install only the today screen app from the Orange ROM. If this has been discussed could someone just point it out to me? Thanks.
P.S. Could someone also give me the link to the FTP site? I can never find it. Thanks!
Orange menu
The orange menu is nice application but it has very limited configuration possibilities.
I have seen already some post regarding this. However no one were able to find a way to further to improve it.

Hey there. Thanks for the cab file. It's really nice. Though it looks better on the smaller sets rather than the Universal. But thanks.
P.S. Sorry for the late reply. Didn't receive a notification of reply. I just stumbled on the thread from my cp. Cheers.
Screen shots please.

sorry about this random post but the Orange menu dont work in Crossbow ROM? I find that Orange menu saves a lot of memory! It truly makes Universal more of a phone than a computer. Because i was recently wondering... I wanted a phone and not a computer... and really i could have made my laptop a phone too by buying those quad band pcmcia cards. But I want the Universal to have more "phone" features than other "computer" features.

To start off, the Universal is a makeshift computer. Not a phone. If you're looking for more phone then you should get the smaller PDAs or a P990 or something. The fact is that the Universal will never be more phone than computer. It's just the way it's been built and well the reason it's been built. Either way I've tried the Orange menu on my Universal. I have the AKU 3.5 ROM by Helmi_c and it's working fine ... though I'm not using it much now.. Have found a new arangement for my Universal: Wisbar Advance 2, SPB Pocket Plus and SPB Diary.
Btw, Sorry for the delay in putting up the screenshots... Also sorry for them being small but there's a restriction on the size of the file and so I had to keep them small. The last one is with the Orange theme that comes with the menu.

That's 2 different things, maybe 3. Do you want to change the 'splash screens' - that come up when you soft reset... (In attachments), or the theme?

Well you could jusr unlock the SPL and then flash the device with one of the cooked WM6 ROM's. That will make the Orbit look like a standard HTC P3300
Thats what i did with mine anyway

the iPhone is proprietary to Apple and so it can't be put on anything else. What you can do is put other things on your XDA to make it finger friendly in operation.
To remove just the O2 garbage, do a hard reset and then when it says "Customising in 3 secs", or something like that do a soft reset.
These questions and more can be answered if you look in the Himalaya/Andes sub forum if its an XDA II or the Alpine section if its an XDA IIi. To tell the difference, apart from the label on the front of the case, which may have been changed:
Go to Start - Settings - System - Device Info.
Select the "Identity" tab.
PH10B = Himalaya/Andes, can be upgraded to WM5 and WM6
PH10C = Alpine, cannot be upgraded but does include WiFi.
The best advice is to read through these forums, especially the device specific ones and also the "Development and Hacking" one for customisation.
Thanks a bunch! my sister-in-law retired her o2 xda 2 to me and I wanted to give it a nice "face-lift". I'll be trying out the stuff you've suggested, thanks again

Tytn rom onto a Trinity

hi,
I have an official WM 6 Orange rom for TYTN II .... file:
RUU_HTC_TyTN_II_Kaiser_ORANGE_UK_3.28.61.0R_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.16.25_Ship.exe
can anyone advise if this would flash ok onto my HTC Trinity/ SPV M700,
which currently has an Orange WM 5 Rom on it.
thanks to the great help on this forum I would not have a problem in using that rom if it is deemed safe so to do.
regards,
Kevin
NEVER try to do this.
Every ROM is made for specific device.
Don't even look at ROM's that is not design for Your device.
Trying to update device with other ones ROM will brick it.
many thanks Spiaate,
you have confirmed that what in my heart I felt was the case.
the only reason I was considering it, is that I actually like using the Orange branding via the phones ' jog' wheel,
and the Kaiser's Orange has a 'go to ..' at bottom right screen (and rh softkey)
that allows me to personalise the sidebar. the WM 5 one does not.
I have searched all over the place for any rom or plug-in that would give me that later Orange, but can't find one.
only frustration led to my posting ...
thanks for stopping me from bricking my phone.
regards,
Kevin
