Pda2k very low volume for callers!! Pls help..pls!!! - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

hi all,
Am using a pda2k since year and half now. Initially when i bought the phone when it was just launced in dubai. It had this weird problem of people complaining low voice from my side on calls. I upgraded to v1.12 and problem had solved. Then when i saw a recent upgrade of 1.40 i did that. The problem is back worse than ever. So i downgraded it back to 1.12 and the problem still persists.
The problem two way has been solved with the unidirectional patch. But this problem persists, i even opened thephone up but evrything seems fine. Am using bluetooth headset jabra and people can hear me now. But its frustrating to use the headset all the time. Pls help am really frustrated with this problem and am unable to find any kind of solutions to this.
People just cannot hear me...i have to shout into the mike hole changing the direction of the phone...pls help....am really really frustrated..love this phone but what is the use if noone can hear u.!! Is there any solution to this?
Thanks a ton

thanks a lot...i really dont mind doing it but my only question is it is a software problem bcoz it was working fine with my old software...and other applications volume level is good enough...so how can it be a hardware deffect? Pls help...thanx.

i have this problem as well... i wish the links people link to wouldn't be always dead on this site.

hi and welcome to the forum.
unfortunately you bumped a very old thread, and the link in the 2nd post refers to an even older thread, which might have been deleted due to routine maintenance.
what exact model of the blueangel do you have?
what rom and radio rom are you currently using?
what network are you on (MHz)?
there can only be 4 reasons for this issue:
1. it is a user problem, there are settings wrong
2. it is a blockage problem, cleaning the device will resolve it
3. it is a software problem, to be solved by flashing another rom and/or radio
4. it is a hardware problem, you'd need to replace parts.
these solutions are sorted by how difficult they are, so after giving more specific information, you might want to start at the top

XDA IIs and Bluetooth Problem.

When I turn on Bluetooth on XDA IIs, I got this error message :
"The bluetooth radio radio failed to turn on due to insufficient driver memory available. You must perform a normal reset before you can turn on the bluetooth radio."
Anyone can advise how to resolve this ? Soft reset does not cure the problem. Thanks.
have you upgraded to bluetooth stack version 3900 ???
if you have then im fresh outta ideas, if you havent find this at our FTP site,
ftp://xda-developers.com/
login and password = xda
got the same problem when i installed one of the bluetooth upgrades on its own. then i installed the new rom and everything was fine. not sure where the connection is but thought id share my problem
Problem solved.
By the way, what is the latest version of ROM for XDA2s, and where to get it from ?
Thanks.
So I was wrong.
After upgrading the BT upgrade, things was OK yesterday. But this morning i got the same error again.
Went to ftp://xda-developers.com/ as suggested, can anyone mentioned the filename of the ROM mentioned by thakkergaurav above ?
Thanks.
The latest ROM is 1.40
You can find it here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel
Hmmm..... :?
This BT issue is really getting to be NOT FUNNY!
Running the new ROM 1.40 and BT 3900 I'm now getting the "no sound" problem on the handset and caller cannot hear me on a HS801!
I use the turn on/turn off BT trick or soft re-set and the handset is OK for a couple of hours but the HS801 still does not work even though its OK with my old PocketPC,a nokia and a Motorola V3!
Is there any consistancy with this problem? It seems the different ROMs, Radio Stacks and BT versions are being effected.
Well, emailed the tech support, and all they can say was ...
"There is a ROM upgrade in development which is in the final stages.
We request your patience as we are trying to release the upgrade as soon as possible."
And that was 2 weeks ago.
even my bluetooth is upgraded to 3900,
i get the same error message also..
i cannot believe a 96mb memory is still not enough
i never get this kinda nonsense when i was using the 5450 ipaq
my today plugins was all over the screen and I had never encountered low memory...
I had the same problem but I have a Harrier not a BA so I thought it was related to that and you BA guys wouldn't get it.
Anyway, the solution on the harrier was to
-turn flight mode on
-soft reset
-turn bluetooth on
-turn flight mode off
Hope this helps
Here is a possible solution from wiki:
The ExSenetoR wrote:
Delete Run_BTTrayCE_10.lnk from your Windows\Startup folder and soft reset. Now you wont have the BT icon on the tray bar, but you wont have the no sound problem. If you still need bluetooth you can start it from the Windows directory as BTTrayCE.lnk.
Have fun.

Have not tried this myself, but I believe others have had success with it. You may want to save the file somewhere else, in case you want to reinstate it later...
Hope this helps

I posted this in another thread.
It really does look like a combo of the 1.40 ROM and 1.12 Radio Stack that is causing this problem (in this case, anyway. See sig). After trolling various forums, it seems that both BT build 3900 and 3500 are having the same issues.
IMHO it seems that the Blue Angel is trying to send the call to my HS801 even when BT is not activated.
Has anyone had a good look at the current radio stack? I've tried contacting Broadcom (BT chipset supplier) but it has been 3 weeks with no answer.
I've done the Run_BTTrayCE_10.lnk workaround but this is only a bandaid and I don't really have enough experience to attempt to cook the ROM. Any ideas?
I have a Motorola HS801 as well and I can receive calls just fine but when I make calls the other party can't hear me. I'm giving up on the HS801 - it's a cheapie anyway and I don't know of anyone else who's got it working either. Running BT3900

Phone problem - neither myself or caller can hear anything

Hi!
I have a problem with my QTEK9090. From time to time when either myself or caller calls to my PPC we can not hear anything! When I try to call back immediately the same procedure occurs. The only thing that temporarily solves this is then I do a soft reset of PPC. Until next time.
I have upgraded from original version 1.12.00WWE to 1.22.00WWE and to 1.40.00WWE. I got a beta version from technical support for radioversion (1.13.10) but without any success. I also have got a new SIM card.
Any ideas?
i have the same problems, and the same sys op... and i had applied all patch...grrrrrrrr
Is your BT on? If not turn it on and leave it on.
good luck
Hi!
Thanks for your replies. I will leave the BT on today and check any differences. Have you had the same problem yourself?
Hi!
matrix70 which version are you running? Have you tried different versions? Have you tried to contact technical support or Telia for this problem?
i'm italian and i bought ba in greece. I just have upgraded with 1.40wwe version, applied all patch...but the proble still here...grrr..i discover that it's coming when i try to use ba in fastest mode.. switching from an application to another in a very fast mode, or trying to recall quickly a number that it's busy.
matrix70 from version did you upgrade from, do you remember?
same problem here, i did read in another thread that this is a known problem and can only be solved by moving to wm5.
I have radio version 1.06.02 and will move to 1.11.00 to try my luck
now i have update from 1.40 to 1.42 and the problem it's seem disappeared.... but with this version i can't sync my calendar....wath a lolling problem ....
I have run with BT on for some days and the phone problem is not occured once.
Great to here that problem with phone is solved in next version.
I remember there was a thread a few months ago I think. I had the same problem when I got my IIs last July, but I just turned off the BT and up to now theres no prob..... I havnt upgraded my version yet, I still use the 1.31 coz everythings working fine
Search the forums for Unidirectional Audio patch. This will fix the problem. But you probably do need the 1.40 series ROM.
im having the same issues, anyone know how to fix it up???
sometimes cant make or receive calls till i make soft reset.
thanks in advance.
im running rom 1.40.
couldn't find "Unidirectional Audio patch"
anyone have any idea where can i find it? and if its really fixing this annoy problem
thanks in advance.
Hi!
You can find the patch here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/uploads/PDA2k_UniDirectional_Patch.sa.cab). It didn't help me at all. I still have problem when BT has been activated nextcoming calls I still can't here or the caller can here anything. The only thing that have helped me, from a tip in this forum, is to always have BT activated.
Regards,
Fredrik
Thanks for the answering m8.
I actualy have been experimented these issue with bluetooth off...
just tryed with bluetooth actived all time and seems to be working.. anyway don't like this fix at all .. consuming extra batery to make the phone working properly is ridiculous
i will try out the fix anyway.
Thanks.
there was a pollon here about this a few months back and 76% of the users in this forum experienced this problem to some degree. Never found a proper fix.
how come manufacturer companies havent take notice yet? or iven the supplied the proper fix to this? is a very important issue...
other licenses than Qtek 9090 got the same issue??? pda2k? and the other clones???? know about it???
for the moment i have to say by enabling bluetooth all time as working well so far ...

Speaker Always ON...How To Solve?

Hi all,
I had a dead HTC P3300, which i got it to be dead by converting it from Chinese to English rom. While flashing , it went dead, and after heaps of tries i have finally got it alive!
The problem now is that now the speaker is always on when i use the Phone.
I cannot switch off the speaker, and keep it to ear mode. Even when i press the "Speaker On/Off" the speaker is always on!
Currently loaded B&B3.0 in it. I had put the 3.7 too but that didnt help either.
Please help me guys!
Thanks a lot!
I would also like to know this, cause mine is acting the same way
Mine did the same thing. I suspected it was PhoneAlarm. I removed it from my Today screen, soft-reset, then added it back. This corrected the problem for me.
I havent installed any applications on it till now. its freshly flashed with B&B3.0.
Still problem persists, Please help.
Thanks!
I have exactly the same problem, can you please tell me how you fixed it?

ive seen this one another forum and the guys have been reflashing the radio rom and that fixes the problems.
check the forum here for the latest update radio rom and install.
Sucess.
Yes, upgrading the Radio part is most likely to fix the issue.
Regards,
Carty..
upgrading the radio rom does not fix the problem, at least not for me.
did any of you use/install the new t-mobile wm6 update?
cause i had/have the same problem on my mda compact 3 and the problems started for me after that update. also posted about it in the dutch release of the t-mobile rom here.
i started getting this fixed by installing other roms, no luck at all.
then i tried flashing another radio rom, seemed lucky but not.
when you install or uninstall any appz after that the speakers are on again for ever.
i tried all kinds of rom releases with the same bad luck, even on of the oldest available wm5 roms, and that wm5 was the only working proper, but when trying another wm6 rom after that the speaker stuff was back again
my phone is now @ t-mobile repair, cause after 2 weeks of testing *a million of different releases or combinations, the problem kept coming back.
so there went something very wrong for me with the t-mobile wm6 update, and it is up to them to fix it, cause the phone came from them and the update to.
i explained the guy in the t-mobile store exactly what is happening and the phone was fixed at least repair said, but luckily he knew how all started (minus the part of the good releases here) and did exactly as i told him "uninstall f-secure" and the speakers where on again, and i guess the only option is going to be a whole new phone (or empty totally fresh rom not touched by that that B&%tch of the wm6 update of t-mobile)
i'm thinking personally that the radio rom in that release has written something to rom that can't be overwritten again or at least in not a proper way, or that release did some to the rom in the phone that corrupted it.
but that is just some guessing from my side, but i have a feeling that my guess is not far from the reality.
for me it's now just hoping t-mobile is fixing this soon or giving me a new phone, cause the words of the the guy in the t-store where "that should never have happened and this falls under warranty for sure"

Hi Harry
i can understand you had so many problems and i know its not nice, but it is really the radio rom that is at fault, please read this Dutch forum, they have posted this problem a lot and the radio had reported to fix the problem.
link to site is http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/1257926
as for me i dont have the problem, never did, just picking info up from site and trying to help others.
good luck with your phone and i hope you get a repair or a new one back.
fijn weekend
That did happen to me when I used AudioNotes to record calls through speakerphones, and got fixed after I unchecked that option from the software. You could use Resco Audio recorder instead.
@ neil H
that topic is one of my daily views, but also could not find the answer over there.
guess that in my case there went something terribly wrong, and also hope T-mobile will fix it soon, cause can't stand being back on my over aged motorola
jij ook een fijn weekend, nu hopen dat de zon gaat schijnen in NL

Interference Noise on the other end

I have a problem with my O2 Zinc .. with WM5 and ROM version WWE_RC4070131. Many complain that when ever they are speaking to me on my O2 phone, they hear some sort of interference sounds. My guess this is to do with radio signals. I am not aware if this is a software problem or the hardware. Have you guys come across a problem like this.. and found any solution?
Thanks a lot.
Hey Guys.. am I the only one with this problem on O2?
The problem is fixed. I flashed WM6 ROM from this link.

serious bluetooth issues after hard reset, plz help

First and foremost id like to thank all the contributers for their awesome help in regards to my issue
i recently installed tom tom onto my rhodium and realised that the bluetooth had dissapeared completely,as a noob this totally freaked me out so i uninstalled, deleted off memory card and hard reset my device.
i now havea strange issue in regards to my device, they are as follows:
1) the bluetooth is not being picked up by any devices within the area (i can send files to my laptop and other phone but not vise versa, when i search for my rhodium its not being seen!?)
2)when i now plug my rhodium into my lappy using the usb cable, when i go to "my computer" it doesnt see the unit as an external...im lost to why this has happened?
Anyone else had similar issues and any of you experienced users have any advice to help rectify this?
Thank you in advance
(a very frustrated rhodium user)
graph1uk
Try another hard reset. Did you remove your memory card from the device before proceeding with your last reset?
thanks for the advice, tried more than once with out any luck so called vodafone uk about the issue, would love to complain how bad the service was but cant as they were very helpfull and exchanged the unit the following day.
however now i have a brandnew unit which has exactly the same fault, the bluetooth is working fine apart from being discoverable?
not one to throw my hands up in despair i contacted HTC direct based in milton keynes, from what their tech guy told me its a common fault with this unit due to the bluetooth stach being specificly designed for this device, theyre working on the issue and will update asap.....so now what do i do?
anyone know of any bluetooth cabs i could try and install to rectify my issue.
with that thanks graph1uk
