I have been trying to access the frp server with my internet browsers (mozilla and internet explorer) with no luck.

I have also downloaded ftp client software and again i keep getting the following error messages.

This could be caused by any of the following reasons:
Your network connection is down.
The host address is incorrect.
The server you are attempting to connect with is not available.
Click the Details button to view information from the connection log.
I have also spoken to my internet service provider but they seemed unable to help!!

Wifi problem with updated ROM

Hi,
I'm having problems with the latest LVSW ROM. The Wifi doesn't work on my 8525 anymore.
I got an error message and I only got it once while trying to connect to my Wifi at home and I wish I wrote it down. It complained of a DHCP error, something related to Pocket PC.
That's something I noticed as well when I Active Sync to my PC. It recognized it as a Pocket PC device.
Has anyone encountered this error? I've soft reset and hard reset my unit and it just won't connect via Wifi. It would try to Connect, then comes with a
Cannot connect to the network. Check your network and service provider settings and try again.
I hope someone can help.
Now I'm getting a
Cannot obtain a server assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network settings.
Thank you very much in advance.

I am also having this problem, has anyone found a solution?
Thanks.

SOLVED//Hero/artemis wm6- quickgps, internet explorer & winupdate not working

@all,
running wm6, bepe, now for a couple of days, I find myself not being able to get quickgps nor winupdate to work, connecting via usb!
quick gps says "connection failed" all the time.
winupdate constantly says "connection update server not found", displays "result code 80072f7d" under "view details".
internet explorer via usb/activesync. gives me "...unknown error 0x80072f78"
any remedies here?

SOLUTION:
Its a problem with XP and active sync! See:http://www.aximsite.com/boards/activesync/137666-fix-unknown-error-0x80072f78.html
post NR 6 gives reg.file to merge easily.
remember, your no longer running a device pre-configured by t-mobile. So you need to create the GPRS connection first before you can connect.

0x80072f78 error in WM6

First of all, I have a Cingular 8525 with the newest WM6. I get this error when I try to use my WiFi connection in IE. It lets me connect the network and even assigns me and IP address and everything, but whenever I try to load a page i get the 0x80072f78 error message. It happens on every network I have tried, even a completely unsecured network the other day. Is my wireless card in the phone broken?
try loading a different page after you get that error. if all else fails flash a new rom or hard reset and see if that works

802.1x Settings: Smart Card or Certificate?

I just installed the latest WM6.1 rom by Kavana. I'm trying to connect to my private/work network, and I need to use EAP type "Smart Card or Certificate", but only PEAP and TLS are listed. Are there any solutions to this issue? I searched on this forum, but could only find the same question asked (but not answered) here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2028467&highlight=Smartcard#post2028467
Thanks!
Sorry for the lack of details but I had a similar problem. There are several google references to various ways to get certificates working. You can also disable certificate checking which is what I elected to do for now.
To force WM5 or WM6 to accept the PEAP server's certificate without attempting any other validation, add the following registry key:
[\HKLM\Comm\EAP\Extension\25\]
"ValidateServerCert"=dword:00000000
This worked for me. More good hacks and the full article/blog http://www.mobilewave.ro/forum/topic-2549.html
Can you link to those several references on google? Why is the smartcard or certificate option missing from this rom anyway? Are there any registry hacks to get this option back?
Hey man, do your home work and google and you can always change the registry entry if you think that the network your are connecting too is not trustworthy. Otherwise I think you will spend many hours of trial and error like I did.
I tried
"ValidateServerCert"=dword:00000000
I am still not able to connect to network. Also as said above, the TLS is not showing the certificates & smartcard. Also when I click on TLS "properties" nothing shows up. I have certificates installed, I can see it from Settings->Security->Certificates.
Any help. It is getting very frustrating.
Bump. Please chime in.
