If i flash my WM5 TyTN (Ita) to a WM6 English Version how can i do to have a right KeyBoard layout?

dont worry about the keyboard layout too much. just READ the forums and you will see that there are keyboard fixes for all of the known layout issues. some like the ROMs from Custel even allow you to change the layout through a built in application in the setting.

It allows you to choose different kb layouts.

Italian layout
Does the Skizzo's cab work for you?
I installed it and now the spellchecker and the dictionary are in italian but the keyboard layout is still without the èòàù etc etc.
Wha cab did you use?

No, just the one called : Italian Settings.cab on the first post of Skizzo's thread.
well yesterday and today i try 3 different ROM WWE and in all 3 i use that file for re-map the keyboard layout and all work great...every 3 times...
Bytheway what kind of TyTN are you using? I use a NO Brand Italian one...

After years of dealing with this problem i finally made a version that works myself..
fixes include:
* NO more device not waking after install
* NO BOOT freeze
* NO contacts\SMS menu not working
* FULL hardware keyboard of tytn/herm support
* Partial Hebrew translation with no menu interruption
* Works on ANY rom and From SDconfig with no problem

it means that you have to be logged in to download, try to log in again on does screens.

Which ROM did u stick with? I'm not sure if I want to return to PDACorner v27 or stay with CRC 14.1...
though the issue with the java emulator isn't resolved yet...
can't get Opera Mini to work with any version of Esmertec Java (and I mean ANY version...) gave it up, isn't that big a deal...

First, thanks for the work!
It seems there is a problem with activesync, after installing the hebrew files activesync won't let me define a new Exchange server connection (won't even open the exchange pane)
Any ideas?

i think the BETA 1.0 version is without activesync translation..
BUT i checked this issue on mine device and it works fine so if any one else suffers from this please say so if not check your rom/reg tweaks..
anyways a better version is in the oven so maybe beta 4 will give better results

i dont belive you can tweak it without the language DLLs
if you're thinking about merging it with LENG
it won't work(probably)
still ill try to cook it for you right now..

Actually, I was trying it out on new roms I was testing (PDAViet, REVROM) so maybe it is a build version issue (2092xx...), in these versions you get a page with links instead of the regular wizard

sorry to disappoint but....
The bug with device not waking up after standby is back in this version - I've hard reset my device with the same ROM the version 2/3 worked on and it made it die... (rip)
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Heb3.zip version and it worked just fine.
did any of you succeed in making any java emulator work with this hebrew version? doesn't work for me...
i tried this cabs
it doesn't work, it asks to register the version and Hebrew is left to right
i installed first the certificate and then the main cab
i tried the cabs on abusalsa v.27 rom

worked for me but ill recook it 4u and check whats wrong..
its wierd cause i just added the control didnt really change much of it. meanwhile you can use the previous version with the hebcontrol.exe..ANYWAYS im trying to port wm6 hebrew from asus which will work much much better cause this one is based on wm5 .. coming soon..

its a known issue its probably cause your not using tytn

YES it works on any wm6.1 providing u r using tytn/hermes; if it does not match the certifacte store from tytn it will show hebrew backwards same on the original versions from the other threads..
BUT im working on herbew for-all-has-nothing-to-do-with-pdac version

Theres is a problem with some symbols in the hardware keyboard layout
if u want to repair this without uninstalling
download this file:

hey man, what do you mean? aek is embedded with hebrew layout so you dont need to set it up or install it yourself..maybe you downloaded the wrong version? there are two, the bottom one with hardware and the upper one without..
and as for hikeyboard, i didnt wanna post with no SIP so its just temporary untill my next version, but i think the trial is unlimited, if not let me know

2) hikeyboard for the hebrew letters keyboard
3) AEKeymap for the hardware keyboard
when i installed the hikeyboard he asked me if i want to use it as the hardware keyboard but it didn't worked so i reinstalled the AEKeymap again.

i dont really know that phone but this is pda based so dll wise
smart phones are not fully compatible to anything in this forums.
to change the key setting u can use AEKMapScan in \program files\aekmap\ press the key/s that u want to use to switch layouts find out the "key code" then edit AEKMap.cfg and change the line
SwitchKey 007A to
SwitchKey ****=your code

Is this an indication that the keyboard is the main cause of previous failures? (that's the only visible difference I could see).

my guess is that INBiDi20.dll doesnt self register properly, if u got any version of hebrew that did work maybe u can try replacing it with any dll that has bidi in its name from the working version
otherwise i cant really help cause i dont have that phone to test on so it will be a waste of time.. GL

Glad to hear and to add that it also works on the new wm6.5 21189 builds flawlessly..
the previous failures are cause eyron pdac and paragon are a bunch of greedy
bastards that dont like to work but like to take our money so they did as less as possible whilst developing their hebrews
I found "AE Keyboard Mapper" extremely useful to make my TP2 keyboard produce Hebrew characters.
It first provides you with a simple utility to scan the keyboard for the code produced by a key (or key combination) press.
It then lets you update a config file to make each key code to a corresponding Unicode character code.
and thats about it.
I've used it to create a mapping of the keys to Hebrew but you can do it to any other language.
The attached contain two files:
1) "EA Keyboard Mapper" installation cab
2) Hebrew config file for TP2
First install "AE Keyboard Mapper"
Once the "AE Keyboard Mapper" is installed/
Place the Hebrew config file in the \Program Files\AEKMap directory
Run "AEKMap Settings" utility and select the new layout from the list
Reload AEKMap
Enjoy
P.S. As a few indicated I left a 2 inportent details out
1) The letter "ת" is mapped to the Envelope key on the bottom row.
2) Switching btween English and Hebrew - I have mapped CTRL+"." to do it but you can map you own switching combination with the AEKMapSettings app.

I share your pain and hate to disappoint you but there is no free Hebrew that is compatible with TP2.
With that there is no Hebrew for the TF3D that works on TP2.
If only Ben-Yehuda knew what he is getting us into
To date PDAC is the only Hebrew that would run on TP2 but I had such a bad experience with it on my old TyTN that I wouldn't even consider installing it on my new TP2...
Eliezer would do it better...
anyway - Since I installed PDAC the "fun" key stopped FUNctioning.
do you know this problem ?

Nope. Sorry.
I understood from his posts that Yuvvi is using PDAC you can PM him and see if he has an idea.

I am not sure what skin you refer to but unless its Human (which make sense when it comes to Hebrew support) I am not interested in the skin i.e. TF3D

We need to get one of the guys who did it before (avimak, nir36, alex2003 or the_dude) to give us directions on how to replicate their work on TP2.
These guys refuse to to help us..
I dont really know what the big deal is..
PDAC Hebrew is really slowing down the device =| It doesnt support the hardware keyboard as it is..
Eyron are supposed to release hebrew for our TP2 devices.. hope they do it soon.. =|

I installed this method together with PDAC, It works great as I type the first 4 letters.. then it just doesnt work anymore =|

Seeing the problem with the FUN key on the PDAC I tried it on the AEKMap and figured it wasn't working
Quickly enough I also found a solution. AEKMap supports an ALT key which doesn't exist on the TP2 keyboard so I have mapped the ALT to the FUN key code and voila we have a working FUN key in Hebrew which means you can write in Hebrew and still use the FUN key to produce "?", "-", "+" etc.
All you have to do is unzip the attached, place it in the \Program Files\AEKMap directory (overwriting the existing file), Unload and reload the AEKMap using the AEKMap-Settings app and you are good to go.
