sort of related question, are these the files which would customise the phone for T-Mo? I just saw a friends older HP phone from TMo and the Today screen had a bunch of stuff which was T-Mo specific - battery meter,call log, etc....I would like that!!!! :roll:
any idea if this would do? and is OZ IM better than Agile? I just installed that last night... :?

are you talking about the Win32 API error when trying to run it on WM5? I somehow managed to make it work on the latest logout rom but when I reflashed it and tried installing it a second time it gave the error again.. so far nothing I've seen is as good as agile..

Why not use IM+?
I have used it on both WM2K3 and WM5 flawlessly... built in support for Yahoo, AOL, MSN, ICQ, Jabber and GoogleTalk... and configurable for any other if you know the settings...
I've never tried IM+.
Have you ever though of using regular AIM? I wish there was an update to AIM 2.0 though, I love being able to custmomize my away messages. Its just that the vibrate feature does not work.

I am using Black 2.0. I love it btw.. Problem is with Yahoo Go (I guess ver 1; 2.0 not available)
Seems to work ok and lists/syncs emails however when I go to look at an individual mail all i see is a blank white screen. I suspect this may have to do with the outlook upgrade. Is anyone else experiencing this? I tried direct POP access and it works fine.

I rec'd the same issues when trying to use wm6 with yahoo go, i believe that yahoo go is only workable with wm5.

This is a known issue .. to-date, Yahoo Go does not work with WM6
Heh... did they finally release Go! for the Hermes family? Last I checked it said "not yet available for your WM5 device."

Never formally released, but you can pull a WM5 windows version off the web which works fine on the hermes ... unfortunately not WM6 yet (to my knowledge)
I've gotten Yahoo! Go to work with my WM6 device.
The problem everyone seems to be having is that when one goes into the message, a blank white screen appears, correct?
The same thing happened to me. So from that 'white screen' message, I scrolled to the next message, and voila! I could see my messages again.
I guess this wont work if you only have one email in your Yahoo! mailbox, but it's better than nothing, eh?

Back on my Symbian, Yahoo Go was great. Not too much of a battery or resource drain. However on WM6, holy crap, it is a huge hog. I had it for a
about two days before I gave it up.
Since battery life is most important to me, I decided to stick with Windows Live instead.

I've installed bepe's WWE WM6 ROM for a while now. I'm have a lot of troubles with the pre-installed live messenger. I can't change my name, can't change screen image, the program freezes when i try to log in, online users are shown as offline, my email doesn't arrive (with push email), in short: looks like a crappy program to me. But i don't hear much complaints in the forum here. Are some of you experiencing this problems also with B&B ROM?
Btw: i've tried all basic advices: turning shared screen-image in the desktop messenger, clearing the password, switching users...no results...

Some people seem to suggest this comes from an incompatibility issue between the thumbnail (user image) format on Windows and Windows Mobile. I'm however not so sure about this. I've bumbed into this issue several times and the only way to work around is by switching 'accounts' and just logging in to the same account again after picking this option.
The problem happens on all WM6 ROMs I tried so don't even bother trying different versions, unless perhaps an official WWE ROM is released.

i seem to have found a solution
I have a dutch version of Live Messenger installed on my computer, (because i come from holland ), so i can't give you the exact option names. But i'll try to explain:
In Live Messenger (on your desktop) there are two options:
- showing screen image to other users (your msn contacts)
- keeping screen image and personal message always the same, wherever you login
the last option seems to do the trick: put it OFF on your desktop Messenger. Now i can sync, change nickname, screen image, personal message and see all online users on my P3300!

CRAP! Yesterday no troubles, now i'm not able to see any online users this program is driving me mad! I ll wait for a newer version before wasting any time on it...good job microsoft
i have tried several versions of Messenger, none of which work properly. looked though other forums, none had an answer, that i could see. i have been using Shapesoft IM+, it works, but nowhere near as nice as Messenger used too.
I hope the new HTC ROM will bring the solution...
Sup guys, I just came across a problem today. I've updated my tmobile dash to ookba's (finally it worked), and installed oz messenger on it. Why oz messenger because I don't have a data plan and have unlimited sms texting (also its not a memory hogger like the aim client). When I try to connect aim through oz messenger, an error "4670" opens up. Can anyone help me setup the wap network or something? Let me know thanks!

sure thing, thanks for the fast response . Yeah, before I upgraded to ookba, oz messenger was fine on wm5 i think it was. When I upgrade to wm6.5, oz messenger doesn't even wanna connect via sms .

apparently many versions where made for the smartphone wm versions some that worked with 5.0 and 6.0 don't work with 6.5. try this version. if it doesnt work i'll find something in the morning as it is almost 11pm my time and i'm a bit tired. some of the rom chefs might have an answer for you as well.

I already tried that. HELP ME OUT GUYS! OZ messengerl loads up but when i try to connect, i get the 4607 error.
i haven't tested oz messenger on 6.5 it maybe completely incompatible. when more people respond tomorrow we'll know for sure. you might have to downgrade to ricky watts and kavanna's 6.1 rom. i used oz messenger with it and it worked perfectly. but tomorrow i'll get hod of a few ppl and see if anyone has the answer

Yeah i have been having the same problem also. i have downloaded every oz im client and cant seem to get any working in 6.5. They all work fine for me on 6.1. At the official Oz Im site they have a new one that looks cool but cant seem to find how to get it. Hope somebody can help out.
Damn, it there isnt a solution, I mind as well go back to kavana's 6.1 rom so I can use it . Thanks for the help guys.

Did anyone ever find a way to get OZ working in Ookbas 6.5 ROM? I also want an SMS based messenger(I have unlimited texting). I find that with DATA based messengers...I sometimes don't receive phone calls when chatting on DATA based messengers....they get sent directly to voicemail. Any help would be appreciated.

I just tried it myself and it doesn't seem to work.
I have all WAP and Proxy settings so it is probably incompatible.
Fresh hard reset actually two row, on Evo 6.5 3.00, ive never really noticed msn to shut down tho before, few times here and there but seem like now its happening more.. anyone know why mine seems to shut down when i minimize it and go on opera etc for awhile. ?

I think i solved the issue i had a extracted SP Msn cab file i downloaded somewhere awhile ago and installed it over the 3VO 3.00 and now seems to stay online if anyone has this issue email me at XXXX and i can email u the cab.

Might wanna attach the file and remove your email your opening yourself up to spam
Also means if other users have same problem they can just download, if problems uploading to site you can place on my 4shared.

Have no idea have not used MSN services for many years also much better multi client chat programs on the market.

Yeah i got those and more but its just nice seeing the msn icon plus wm msn is not bad looking, if it doesnt go away later im gonna test been busy today did t really get to try it today much was ok earlier.
Well Seems too be fine now i switched user accounts and seems to run fine in the background.. will keep posted as the days go by.
Since iv bought my rhodium about 6 months ago I have had a problem making any IM client work correctly. Agile messenger would log out on its own, and never loggd into msn or updated my buddylist from aol. I cant find a version of AIM that will install properly, it either says not for a PPC or installs and never opens, and before anyone says make sure ithe the right compatible version I have, ad nausium, to no avail.
I just recently got windows live messenger working and I couldnt add someone to my friends list, said it wasnt a live account that accepts messages or something like that. Added her from my computer no problem but she dosnt show up on my phones list.
All I want is to be loggd into atleast 1 of the programs because its easier for some of my friends to communicate with me thru that who dont have my number *people I game with for example* I dont care if its a free app im willing to pay for a product that actually works.

Try either Palringo (included in your ROM, under Start > Internet, but you need to create a Palringo account) or the AIM client (attached). Both work on my HD2, and Palringo definitely works on my TP2.
