TURBO SPEED FOR HTC UNIVERSAL !!!! - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

I try this little registry edit and tried it out with Registry editor
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Systems\GDI\SYSFNT and under CS change from original 0x0(0) to 0x4000(16384)
AND TADAAAA !!!..........Instantly Turbo Charged Your HTC UNIVERSAL!.........Amazing. actualy when you rotate your screen.
for info.. im using the last WWE T-mobile NL ROM with Radio 1.09
I beleive all it does in increase font cache from 0 to 16K
Please correct me if I'm wrong!!!
Cheers..........

it is
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\SYSFNT
and it works in any WM5
thanks for pointing it out, but i think it was discussed before somwhere in the board

It does indeed have a positive effect when flipping the screen. I guess the time for the device to rotate its screen orientation has been halved, not bad. Thanks.

This has been discussed here too which starts on page 4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=31697&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=75
Personally I find it faster to use the 32000 setting than as suggested to lower it down to 16000. Plus if you have "SPB Pocket Tweaks", it is stated there that if you want faster refresh, use the 32000 setting. And to me the 32000 is definitely faster. So this boils down to which do you believe and how your device feels after the change. It is up to you guys to decide.

Unbranded PDAVIET ROM (3.00.07.09.)

I have made an unbranded version of PDAVIET's latest rom, if anyone wants
it its Here
Hi, can you explain "unbranded version" ?
Thanks you
Thanks. Have you deleted Adobe, Java, PHM and voice speed? Please let me know cause I've the full version and really love it; save I don't need those softwares
it would be just perfect if you could take all the softwares... since just like you i dont use any... pshutxp (i hate that crappy skin), hibernate mode and battery on tray, pimbackup... all souns on windows folder, all the themes(i love the simple grey one ) a and so on...
Could you do it? or explain how to?
no iv just changed the splash screens to the original htc ones and welcome picture no longer says "www.pdaviet.net" -eg its no longer PDAVIET branded
Thanks... i will try it when i have time! Don't like all that pdaviet url's

Go to start/settings/connections/wireless lan/powermode and change it to best performance.
Maybe this helps for you.
I did that, but it doesn't seem to effect at all..
If there is a bug in that slider app, can I set right powermode straight to the registry?
And yes I am sitting only three meters avay from my router and still getting only about 15% of full signal strenght.

Superb Rom by the way PDAVIET i love it ..fast reliebale and stable too
Can someone writes here how to create custom splash screens and apply them to device without flashinf FULL rom?
Thanks!
fix the 3 pictures in easy steps
here how I did it, I am not an expert but it works for me.
move the file called (RUU_signed) from the folder of the ROM.
put this file (HTC Splash) instead of it.
just press (ROMUpdateUtility) like you do for upgrading the ROM it only take few seconds and you find that you have a diffrent start screen.
now you only left with one last screen wich you could change it by changing the image file in your windows via active syn called (welcomehead.96). just drag it to windows folder and replace the original one.
I hope you find it good!
It only bloody works...thanks MADJID nice response...
Dont be a butcher
Not to be a Killjoy or anything.
PDAVIET has obviously put a lot of work into this rom.
The only time you see the PDAVIET logo is when you reboot.
So whats the issue?
Give credit to the guys who do the work./
If you dont like the PDAVIET logo then write your own bloody rom. or at least learn how to
They might not appreciate you butchering their roms.
I know I wouldn't
I think that PDAVIET put alot of work. But it's Almost Perfect, the Splash Screens are really horrible, these Roms deserve better.
This is why you'll find in this forum alot of complains about how to make the screens better (or at least original)/
We all r searchin' perfection.
And for the secod time, I love your Rom PDAVIET

How to turn off keyboard lights?

I would like to know if there is a registry or app that turns off the keyboard backlight.
The idea is save battery life during the day or while reading a big text. I already use the Lowlight to reduce the light intensity but the keyb light many times is useless.
I already teste some regs mentioned for others phones but didn't work in the nrg rose (QKeybTimeout and QKeyb another thing...).
I noticed that the keyb light turns off while browsing a big email in the native wm mail. I think it's possible to find a reg monitoring this function, but i don't know about any wm 6.1 reg monitor like ceregspy for ppc.
thanks for the help
go to power management in settings and you can lower the time that it's lit up

here's something for ya, i've only tried this on my blackjack 1 though.
go to HKCU\ControlPanel\KeypadBacklight and change your registry settings to look like this.
EndTime...........0x0(0)
mode...............0x1(1)
i'll make a cab, so if you don't like it you can uninstall it.

It's worth a try to create the reg, just been searchin and seems a common question on many phones that no one answers
haha well i have nothing going on at the moment, so i'll make a small effort to figure it out. no promises though people.
EDIT well after some searching i would like to think i've narrowed it down to the HTCUtil.dll and/or the keybddr.dll that controls how long the keypad lights are on. but i have no way of telling for sure, just a guess.
So anybody? make a cab that has a simple icon like light config, lets make it so all power on keyboard is off during the day.
or something. ?

Several questions didn't found yet...

Hello All,
I've been working a few days now with the TP2... wonderfull device... Since i also used the TP and Qtek 9100 this is really great device... i have though some minor things...
1. The size, it's pretty huge... my iPhone 3G is a bit bigger though... but it needs time... Nothing to do about it, just the way it is... ...
2. Another thing is, i have been using the TAB key on the TP external keyboard very often when typing... but the TP2 doesn't have it... I found an .REG update from a person in Norway saying he added FN+T as a TAB function, but that only adds a TAB in space, not jumping to the next field... Anyone any idea how to make a real TAB functionality...?
3. Opera, i've updated Opera to the newest beta, but when restarting the phone it keeps starting Opera... The newer Opera is slower in starting the application, but when running it's faster and more responsive... Also when i uninstall the Opera i installed, the old Opera is not working anymore... So my questions are... Where/how can i disable it (i've been in the registry and HTC's bootloader anywere but no Opera)...? and Where can i get the "pre-installed" CAB file...? So i can reinstall that CAB file...?
4. When using the HTC TouchFlo contacts they are sorted as "firstname lastname". No problem, but when i select the letter at the most right so i can jump to names with that corresponding letter. It jumps to a very not logic point. When i select the letter Z it jups to names starting with D somehow it jumps not far enough. I have the Dutch TP2... Anyone noticed the same...? Or anyone made a solution for it...?
Thanks in advance,
Michiel

i have the same problem too. went to HTC customer care and they were surprised by the issue too. told them to log a case to address this, hopefully they did.
I don't have this issue on mine - the "jumps" on the contact list are flawless.
As to the size, it's only longer and heavier than my Dopod D810 (Trinity) - the TP2 is actually both narrower and thinner, only by a very tiny margin.

I haven't tried it with a shorter contact list, since i have over 400 contacts. Anyway maybe it's just a bug with the Dutch version, maybe THKC can agree on that (don't know if he has the Dutch version too).

Congratulations, you just put your device in bootloader with no means to take it out of it... (sorry for the sarcasm...)
In any case, you will have to get a cable since the device has to receive a command to exit bootloader, which you will not be able to do through the device. There is no way to flash a rom through SD on the BA (I have a small project, but I am not certain that it will unlock it for you... in fact, I seriously doubt it).
I will try to upload it later and give you a link for it.

I believe that there is a reshack for WM (in fact, I saw it not too long ago). As far as the apis, unfortunately, I am not a programmer, so I wouldn't even know where to start looking for that (other than google searches).

Which link are you talking about (I have like 4 in my signature)?
In any case, if you are looking for a UI that makes the device look like a Desktop, you need Wisbar Advance Desktop and Wisbar Advance. I have never been able to use them correctly, but I have seen people making their Home screens look like OSX, WinXP, and even Vista.
