does anybody know a program to map the power button to a different button lik the OK-button to switch an MDA III on and off as the power button is broken?

Power button mapping
I've tried Vijay 555 to assign power on/off to another button, but it has not worked. I need to map on/off elsewhere, whilst having the button lock option, as my normal Blue Angel power button is broken.
Have I used the software correctly? Is there a way of re-mapping power button AND having button lock still not allow any other button to power the device up?
Any help would be great - whilst I carry on searching the site!!

i have a I-mate PDA2K version of the blue angel, but my power button wont work if pressed once(its supposed to turn the display off) but when pressed and held, it works(turning the backlight off but not the display).
When the device is off(no display) the power button responds right away when pressed. can somebody help me?thanks..

It seems to be a Hardware fault common on the BA. For now until i get the time to trace it. I use PHM tools and route the button in front of the power button to suspend after installing PHM tools.
What is PHM tools? Can I use PHM tools to assign Power button functions to another button?
I got a new problem. Now I can't power it ON. If I could only remap power button to Record or Media Player button (they seem to be the same...) maybe I could get by another 3 years...

Can someone help with a how to on assigning functions to the home and back buttons on the HD.
I've been able to map the other buttons, Volume up/down, call & hang-up.
Just thought while typing this, is it possible to assign to the power button also?

Hi, I 99.9% sure that the home button may not be mapped (yet ??) with AEB Plus.
But the "Back" button is the "OK" button in AEB Plus.
Power I don't know about - I suspect not available to AEB+

But i'm using S2u2 to do it with smarttoolkit.

Install S2u2 with onto the phone then use a freeware program called, mymobile.

with it, i can change the s2u2 settings on the pc with the mouse.
then with smarttoolkit, i add a hotkey

I add S2u2 as a hotkey and i bind it to the power key.
now it works perfectly, just don't hold down the power button and tap it a few times.
it shuts the phone off. lol
Basically, my power button is screwed. It is constantly held down, so I cannot lock/unlock my phone and everything else you use the button for. I realised the other day that I don't press the optical sense button down...at all. So I wonder, is it possible to turn that button into my power button? and just disable the power button all together.

My E4GT is runing on 2.6.35.7_SPH_D710.EL29_CL852097 rom. Currently the
mobile goes to asleep by pressing POWER or SEARCH key, wakes up by pressing
POWER key.
To protect POWER key from over used, I hope to change the wake up key
from POWER KEY to SEARCH key too.
I wonder how I can do it? Could someone help?
