i installed the 1.13 radio along with the latest QTEK ROM.

I've installed radio 1.13 with different ROMs and it always showed a very bad performance in terms of reception quality and GPRS/3G/UMTS functionality.
Reverted back to 1.11 now.

i have not tried Ivan's AKU3.2 ROM. at this point i'm just going to use it as is. it's working fine for me, and i need it stable for work.

i have not been able to get it to work on AKU3 yet either....

SMS - No incoming messages
I post just to alert others to a problem I have just encountered that may, or may not, be attributable to Radio 1.13.00.
Ever the adventurous, I flashed with Ivan's AKU 3.2 ROM and MvRTrue VGA and, I think, everything was working fine. Going a step further I then flashed the Radion from 1.09 to 1.13.
Now I do not seem to be able to receive SMS.
I thought for a while that I had cooked the Sim because I stupidly left it in during the Radio upgrade. But I have now changed the Sim and the same problem persists.
The problem could be 1.13 OR the combination of 1.13 and AKU3.2 OR something else (ie hardware problem) but, in the latter case the coincidence of it occuring at the same time as the ROM upgrades makes me think it unlikely.
I am just flashing back to Radio 1.09 to see if that cures the problem.
Has anyone else seen a similar problem and got any other suggestions?
Andy

i have radio 1.13 on QTEK ROM. i am recieving SMS messages fine since the upgrade last week.

Bak on Radio 1.09 and SMS working
Update - Have just flashed back to 1.09 and SMS working OK. So can only conclude that it is 1.13 problem (perhaps just incompatibility with O2??) or incompatibility between 1.13 and O2 SMS Plus app which I use for SMS messaging. Will do further tests - but tomorrow. In the meantime would welcome others' experiences.
Andy

Works fine with T-Mobile Germany
UMTS reception got better (in my room, UMTS from no availability to 2/5, GSM unchanged 4/5)

i'd have to say this seems to be the best overall package i've used (was previously running my own mix of qtek with radio 1.11 and orange ext rom) really fast and no dropped calls as yet. reception much the same but reasonable.

Jasjar: Anyone tried the Dopod 1.04.02 radio yet?

This Dopod ROM was text ROM , my Dopod 900 came with 11336_134_10402 , I think you can try 1.04.02 radio , it work very well for me.
I noticed that Uni_DopodCHT_11333_125_10402 was corrupt, but the other one is ok. I was just wondering whether there would be any improvements in this radio version.
what's this new one ?
(Open_ch)UNI_DOPOD_11336_134_10402_Test.exe
is it in english or chinese ???
thx
The Operating system is chinese, but my guess is that the Radio software (BT or Wifi) universally English anyway, and if you take out all NBFs except radio.nbf, you only upgrade the radio anyway.

i did not had time to do it yesterday and i'm not sure about today too.
but why didn't you tried it  ... ?
I Have the new dopod radio stack on my mda pro. All seems ok after the update.
Thanks I went for it as well, upgrade went perfectly smoothly, no need for a hard reset either. Works fine, just not seen any improvements yet, but we'll see
confirmed here too. i just got home and did it.
Can someone please provide some n00bie guidance on how to go about these 'upgrade', and where we can find info on them (what they are supposed to solve, where to find updates, where they get discussed/developed, etc). Help would b much appreciated...

Help Pls - After M3100 Upgrade to Duttys WM6 Premium V2 - Issues with receiving calls

I upgraded my Orange SPV M3100 with Dutty's Windows Mobile 6 Premium v2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303665
I followed the exact instructions as per the following guide
http://www.mrvanx.org/hermes_guide/dutty
Everything went fine and the phone seems to be having no issues apart from the following issue of receiving calls.
My Network - Virgin
ROM Version : WM6.Premium.v2
ROM Date : 17 April 2007
Radio Version : 1.41.00.10
Protocol Version 32.74.7020.18H
If I call it from the landline it sounds as though its ringing but actually does not respond. The phone won't rings. The calling person is getting 'The is a fault' or 'Please check the number you have dialed'.
Even I tried to reset as many times.
I even switched the network to using GSM ONLY. But still happening...
But I can make calls with no problem.
Please help
i had the same problem also and im using tmobile(US), but i just used a different rom.
Any other software running on the phone? If so, try uninstalling.

Hi
1.Try reflashing it. Some times works after reflashing or
2.Try with another Radio Rom

I am running the following softwares only
1. TomTom Navigator
2. spbBackup
3. spbWeather
Apart from that none..
I even reflashed the Radio Rom..Still havinng problems..
Found an interesting reading here

suggesting that it might be the 3G of TMobile UK, but I belive I haven't had the issue for the past 4 monhts having my M3100 with original Orange WM5 ROM.
Thinking of going back to the latest WM5 rom from Orange
Then try as the wise Abo Forat suggested and reflash the ROM - I would re-download it too. (Or try a different one.)

WM6: Problem with recieving incoming calls

Since I installed WM6 I can´t recieve incoming calls. The phone lights up but nothing more, and when I click on the reception or phone symbol when it lights up it says "no service" (translated from Swedish).
It was also some problems with Active Sync 4.5 since I upgraded, but those problems might just be because I needed to reinstall it.
Does anybody please know how to fix this, otherwise tomorrow it will go to the repair-shop and I will lose 12 days and the order in my life. : (
The sim-card works on another phone and it worked with WM5, and I have tried hard reset and a reinstall of WM6, but the problem persists.
/Danne
Hi,
Did you try to install an offoicial version of WM6 or one of the cooked ones of this board? If the latter did you take all the necessary precautions first eg installing an upgraded bootloader, etc?
If you have not you may have bricked your phone.
Give us a bit more detail so we can see how we can help.
Cheers

hello
I had the same problem when I upgrade to official WM6 HTC rom, the phone don't ring and I loose the network.
I solve the problem with flashing the radio rom with older version.
I put wm6 on my phone the first day I got it. so I don't really know if this was a problem b4 with wm5.
mine only seems to ring my end after about 8 rings from the dialer so I have to get it within 2 rings b4 voice mail kicks in. Ypu think the if I update the radio as well will that help me?
ps. sorry for hi-jacking your topic seemed along the same line.
the same problem with Bouygues telecom!

Two solutions seems to have been offered (below) but I (as Curious Jack) are new to this so could you please elaborate of give a link where I can read more?

CrunchyGremlin: cnguar provisioning cab

Hi there
I had the same problem with mine after flashing to wm6 (but on a trinity)
Apparently there are 2 fixes:
1. Get a NEW sim , or
2. Flash radio rom back to an earlier version that was used with wm5.
Hope this helps

One last question: I use a Swedish OS - do the radio roms that is under: "Extracted Radio ROMs for your Hermes" work for me? Or only Anglosaxian PDA:s?

similar problem discussed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1442269#post1442269
in fact Palm Treo 750 (HTC Cheetah) and Hermes are based on the same radio module.
latest Palm Treo WM6 Radio version: 1.47 (Qualcom)
What that Palm utility does is simply downgrading radio to earlier version. This might work for Hermes in bootloader mode as well.
My point is: no need to install hard sspl if one can downgrade to earlier version of radio with _official_ radio downgrade tool.
I will try later and report back.
update: Palm Radio downgrade tool picked up that device is incompatible. no luck so far.
Seems problem is with Bouygues Telecom
Hi Guys,
Got the exact same problem with Bouygues Telecom. I put a Orange Sim card and it is working so I assume the issue comes from Bouygues Telecom.
So that to check, are the french guys all on Bouygues Telecom or are you using other Telco operators?
Frederic
SOLVED : WM6 & HTC Tytn & Bouygues Telecom now working
Guys,
to make it work, you need to flash ROM Radio 1.38 on top of Windows Mobile 6.
ROM Radio 1.38 can be finded at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtractedRadioRoms
what version did you use? There are few of them listed on that page:
1.38.00.01
1.38.00.10
1.38.30.10

ROM version and Radio version relationship

Just something I'd like to share.
Like most of us here I've been playing around with various WM6 ROM flavours and Radio versions.
What I have found is that there seems to be a relationship of some sort between ROM versions and Radio versions. A relationship regarding stability, speed but also battery drainage. Certain Radio versions simply don't go well with certain ROM versions I have found.
At the moment I am running Schap's WM6 4.31 Lite WWE ROM. Superb ROM BTW.
The Radio version that I have found to be the most 'matching' is Radio 1.51.00.10. It's stable, battery life of this ROM/Radio combination is fantastic, HSDPA works great and it doesn't slow down my TyTN.
I've tried lower and higher Radio versions with Schap's 4.31, most were also stable but there were other issues, like incoming call issues, HSDPA access and speed, battery life not that good, Bluetooth connectivity issues, or the responsiveness of my TyTN decreased dramatically (the latest 1.54 Radio ROM).
Who else has the same experience?
i only hace the 1.54 radio, but i try the older ones immediately, although m hermes is very responsive (crcs 6.1 release 6 ;-))
Regards
I allways flash the OEM Rom with the Radio that I want to use. Then flash the cooked rom.
I tried the 1.51 radio rom version with crcs 6.1 release 7 and it had a horrible power drainage... with 1.54 i had the best so far ;-)
btw: i have a herm300 if there's a relationship^^
Regards,

well, after testing 1.54 with the release 7 I have to admit that the power drainage is still very high... it seems like the release 6 was the most energy saveing in adversation to release 7 wich looks like the heaviest power consumer ever ;-)

(old one) Diamond Radio Thread

Thread closed. Please visit the new one.
In my experience, I have only tried 1.25.03, 1.25.05, and 1.25.08 on my MDA Compact IV with Swift's V7.0 Full Rom (recommended!)
Out of those three, .08 appears to give me the most stable (and slightly better HSDPA) signal on T-Mobile UK in the south.
I can't say I have noticed any difference in battery life between .05 and .08, both of which are approx (IMO) 30% better than .03
GPS aquisition - maybe a tad faster on .08, but I reckon it is impossible to make any reasonable judgement. I have certainly had no problems with acquisition on any of them, with all of them acquiring within 30 secs.
WIFI - I use a WPA2 encrypted network, and have never got my diamond to connect with any rom or any radio - it times out on the first key exchange so I cannot really comment at this time.
Hope that helps someone.

ill try 08 today when i get home today from work
Reverted back from .08 to .05 after a couple of days. Seems that .05 is better for me: better UMTS signal reception.
ROM: Swift 7.0
Country / Provider: NL / KPN
GPS: .05 and .08 perform similar
UMTS: .05 is better than .08
judging from these posts i think i'll have to try .08 too, i was on .03 as stock and i've changed to .05 and it was stable enough to not go back, however, an increase in HSPDA would be nice
has is ever been clearly determined if there is a Radio Rom upgrade that will take a European Diamond and get it to function on 3G with ATT/Cingular in the US? If so, which one?

has it been clearly proved? i have not seen any real proof that it works or does not work. users here say they know and it sooo obvious, but still no written proof. its been a while since that US version has been around and not 1 peep. so, i really just gave up. even with edge speed my phone still fux up any device that comes near.
I have a question what radio version need to use for 3G in 1900Mhz?, thanks..
.08 rocks!
Well, I had bought the Touch Diamond EURO version, not realizing what I was doing. I live in Anchorage, Alaska, USA, I did the Dutty Rom, HardSPL, etc..
Then I went to the .08 radio, WALLA!
Where I had 1 bar or no service, now I have 5 bars.
I am gonna make a donation to Dutty! This is AWESOME!!!
Up here in AK, soon, we will have 3G via AT&T also SUPPOSEDLY!!
These threads ROCK!!!!

You can keep the original ROM and update the Radio.
You need to Hard SPL your Diamond (look in stickies for instructions) then download a radio and install.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DONE HARD SPL FIRST!!!
otherwise you will end up with a Diamond shaped paperweight
i tried .08 Radio but it drains my battery realy fast. Reverting back to .05 again
I disabled 3G because the phone is switching all the time, bad 3G reception in my neighbor
Country: NL
Operator: T-mobile
Band: tested GPRS, tested 3G, no difference in batt usage @.08
No No No.....08.....
I WOULD ADVISE YOU NOT TO USE 08 RADIO BECAUSE I PUT IT AND WHEN THEY WERE CALLING ME I WAS LOOSING CALLS AND IT WAS MAKING 10 SECONDS TO CONNECT AND OFFCOURSE THE OTHER PERSON WAS CLOSING THE PHONE..............I WAS PUTTING BACK 05 AND EVERYTHING IS OK AGAIN...................
BE CAREFUL MY FRIENDS........DONT UPDATE YET........
