What do these cabs in extended ROM actually do? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

Hey guys.
Thx to some great posting on this board, I was able to unlock the ext. ROM and take control over the automatic software installation that takes place after hard reset.
My goal was to stop the PP_RemoveToday_Wireless.CAB from being installed and it worked like a charm. Now, I wonder what all the other CABs are doing.

Help with first attempt at ERedit2003 needed

Last night was my first attempt at using ERedit2003.
I took the latest asian O2 ROM, removed all the telco CAB's and CallerID. I then modified config.txt as follows;
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\TPDisable.exe
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Broadcast_WWE.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\clearnotify.ARM.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\OEM_WWE_04021004.sa.CAB

CAB: \Extended_ROM\PegasCE_sdio.2577.CAB
CPY1:\Extended_ROM\cLaunch.dat
CPY2:\Windows\cLaunch.dat
RST: Reset
Flashing the device went without a hitch but not all the applications installed. Infact it seems nothing after C2Pinstall.ARM.CAB (Caller2Picture) was installed.
I am now going to move C2Pinstall.ARM.CAB to the end of config.txt to see if that is the culprit, in the meantime if anyone can see anything I have done wrong I'd appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Nick
Okay the C2Pinstall.ARM.CAB resets the device after installation is complete, so I moved this to the end of config.txt
CgrPPC-1.arm.CAB (Calligrapher) asks for a soft reset after installation but I can't cancel this dialog so, I have removed this from config.txt and launch it manually.

Extended ROM Installer Doesn't Kick In - Please Help!

Hi,
Just upgraded to WM2003SE 2.06 and everything went fine (after I sorted out my Country ID Errors).
Only problem seems to be that the Extended ROM config.txt doesn't run. Have checked all the files are there and spellings are all correct. Once I unlock the rom they all run manually OK.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong here please?

Do you have the autorun.exe file in there to kick it all off?

Delete this thread, please

SO, I recently got a Uni and flashed it with the tmo uk custom rom (UNI_TMO_20041_200147_11700_D3DM_WIFI_SDHC_WWE_Ship.zip). I wanted to add IIWPO to it, check up on how to do it (and success stories/directions) and decided to add some other stuff while I was in there.
Now, I unlocked it with Buzz's tool, added the cabs of the files I wanted restored on a hard reset, and edited the config.txt file in the ext rom.
I hard reset, setup the screen, and watch the "customization" go throught the whole config.txt file, including all my "customizations", but none of the programs that I added to the ext rom are installed on the device when it reboots.
I had a problem with a filename holding up the "customization" and got that sorted out. Now it will run through the whole config.txt, without those programs being installed after soft reset. Here is my config.txt file, please help!

disablesecurity.cab vs Default_Signed_DisableSecurity.CAB
Apparently there is a difference in the file(s)
disablesecurity.cab from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=257415
and
Default_Signed_DisableSecurity.CAB from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=250181 (which has dead links, so I had to get it from ftp://xda:[email protected]/Universal/Tools_and_Programs/Default_Signed_DisableSecurity.CAB)
I'm just tried it and it works (the 2nd file, that is). I now have other problems with the software in particular installing correctly.
