Oh, and welcome to XDA-Dev!

For those unsure about playing in the registry, you can use this utility to easily configure the GPS Intermediate Driver after setting up the bluetooth comm port as described above

Just select the Bluetooth port you set up, save and restart.

com ports with tomtom5

can't get bluetooth receiver to connect only connect to 6 and 7 need it to connect to 2 and three :?:
Follow EXACTLY
Tomtom Installation...
There are 3 key steps in making TomTom 5 work on an i-mate JasJar with a Bluetooth GPS.
Many tips are scattered around in different Forums.
Here is a COMPLETE overview of what to do.
STEP 1 : INSTALL TOMTOM5
You do this by copying the CAB files from the CDROM (eg F:\PocketPC) to the JasJar and launch one by one from there with the explorer of the JasJar.
You can install voices the same manner by copying the CAB files to the Jasjar (eg from F:\Voice on the CDROM)
STEP 2 : UPGRADE TO V5.1
Extract and copy the files to a folder on the JasJar and install them from there.
STEP 3 : ACTIVATE THE GPS CONTROL PANEL
Fire up a registry editor
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MASCHINE\ControlPanel\GPS Settings
Delete the DWORD marked "hide"
Add a DWORD called "Group" and give it the value of "2" (dec)
The GPS panel will now show up in your connection settings.
STEP 4 : INSTALL TOMTOM5
1. Establish a bond with your GPS and select the checkbox for serial access.
2. In BT, select the OUTGOING port to 8.
3. In the GPS control panel, select the GPS program to 0 and make sure that the hardware one, is set to None.
4. Start TT5 and the GPS settings, select another bluetooth GPS, and you will see COM 0 free. Select COM 0 and close TT5.
5. At the GPS control panel again, now select COM 8 (before we set it up at 0).
6. At BT: select OUTGOING port to 0.
7. Back again to GPS control panel and select NONE.
8. Finally start TT5 and it should connect automatically. Wait for a couple of seconds and click the GPS settings and you should see it has connected.

collins199820, any chance you can share those settings please?
I've had major hassles trying to get my mms settings sorted on my xda exec.

Read my unique device ID

Is there a application/registry key/log file that I can read my unique device ID from?
I had a poke around the system information to no avail. It must be hidden in there somewhere.
this is quite odd...its easy to find on my mda, but not on the tp2...the only thing i could find, and this may be wrong, was: settings > connections > domain enroll > device name.
Also, i you can set up a unique name when setting up active sync w/ your comp for the 1st time.
Start> Settings> System> About> Device ID Tab. That should do it for ya.

A couple of questions...

Hello.
Having some questions:
1) Can't manage .lnk files in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs - Access denied. How to fix this?
2) Is there any option to make the middle column in start menu on the same horizontal line with the first and last?
3) Is there any option to rearrange the items in the start menu by the finger?
4) Is there any option to show transferring Internet traffic while gprs/edge connection is active?
5) Is there any option to select which connection to use while the phone needs access to the Internet?
6) Is there any option to make thumb items (after the clock (manila)) to show as a list?
7) Is there any option to make pushing the right soft key (with home icon) to minimize the running program, not to close it?
8) Referring to (7), any task bar to manage minimized programs with minimum clicks?
9) None of mobile registry editors can edit values - Access denied. What should I do?
Thanks in advance for answers.
1) Have you tried using ReStart?
2) I could only find this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502051
3) You can click and hold to move to the top/bottom. Once again, try ReStart.
4) Not sure
5) Start > Settings > Connections > Connections all settings located there.
6) I'm not sure what you are talking about, but Max Manila and Cookies Home Tab give you plenty of customization.
7) Start > Settings > System > Task Manager > "Buttons" tab.
8) You can link the long hold of the endkey, send key, etc to open up task manager. Start > settings > personal > buttons.
9) What software have you tried? PHM reg edit is a popular one.
1) This one showthread.php?t=481379 ?
2) Yes, thanks!
3) ReStart haven't tried yet
4) -
5) Yes, I know about this menu, but I need something like in symbian phones - each time any app wants connect to the Internet, pops up new window with available connections - wi-fi spots, dial up profiles, etc...
6)
7) No "Task Manager" in System (P.S. Still don't know why two different links to settings have the same name.).
8) Start > settings > personal > buttons - no such option in personal present...
9) This program runs directly on PPC, any programs which works via activesync reports Access Denied..
Max Manila 2.5 - v3.0 (beta).cab - installed on phone. May be I've missed something?
1 & 3) Yes that one
4) http://spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/wirelessmonitor/
5) I haven't seen anything like this.
7) Start > System is not the same as Start > settings > System. Either way, you can get to your task manager by clicking the wrench button on the drop down task manager. then click the buttons tab on the bottom and define your settings.
8) I think advanced config 3.3 can do this as well (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418151). HERE is different style keyboard remapper to remap all keys (including home and back).
9) Never tried to run a Reg Edit through active sync connection. I just use PHM RegEdit or SKTools Registry Editor (SK Tools only shows 6 options unless you pay though). Both can edit and add values, keys, dwords, etc.
Still can't find any wrench button in taskmanager. Are you talking about original taskman, which ships with the WM 6.5?
---------------------------
Installed Touch X Taskmanager.cab -adds the missing taskmanager(top right corner) - now it is showing.
Back to connection monitoring...
I can't believe, that there is no such tool:
For example, I use Opera.
There are two Internet gates available for use - 3G and Wi-fi.
Opera starts....and I don't know which gate is being used...
How is on standard cell phones or symbian based smart phones:
when an application wants access Internet, a small window with available gates appears.. and you choose which one to use.
I've checked spb's tool, but it doesn't provide the feature described above...
P.S. Is there any program to prevent unlocking the phone if qwerty keyboard slides?

[Q] Z1C remote shares

found menu in setting, storage, remote shares, + windows shares. any have idea how to setup remote shares with windows
forgive my bad english. :fingers-crossed:
It's fairly simple:
(steps in windows are for win vista or newer, but on XP and older it should be similar)
On your Windows PC, rightclick on any folder you want to share > "properies" > "sharing" tab > "sharing" button > click on "share" button
Your phone must be connected to the same network as your PC
Add new windows share on your phone:
into "Host" field type in the name of your compurer (it can be found if you rightclick on "This Computer" > properties > (specify system settings) > "Computer name" tab > Entire computer name)
into "Share" field type in the name of shared folder on your PC
into "username" field type in your username on the PC with shared folder
into "password" field type in your password on the PC with shared folder
Tap on "save" and switch the switch next to the new created entry to "ON" position
(NOTE: some names of things in windows can be little bit different as I do not use windows in english language)
