I'm new to windows CE and xda-developers. I've bought an orange spv m5000just 4 days back. Downloaded the file M5000ruu.exe and followed the instructions.
The problem is the flash wasn't successful and now I get the classic reset to default (button 0) or restart (button X) screen on a white background. Upon pressing 0 I get a message 'clearing now' on the same screen. The screen then goes blank...
Note that I only get to this screen by pressing both softkeys and using the reset button with my stylus.
What do I do? Please help me!
oops! I just saw the dedicated column for the Jasjar/exec/m5000. Could the mods possibly shift my post if its in the wrong section. Thanks and sorry for the slip-up.
After a chat with h_dubli and a few post searches I solved the problem It seemed I missed the backlight + power + reset combination. I also missed the part where the screen is not backlit, so didn't notice anything. Thanks to you guys I read about this and finally installed the latest patch i.e. m5000ruuu.exe (nov 2006). Thanks a bunch guys!!

Do This first:
Press these 3 buttons at the same time:
Power button + Press the circle between the call answer and reject buttons + Soft Reset
Put the mobile into the cradel again and restart the (upgrade/downgrade) process.
which device do you have?
is it XDA2, XDA3 or?
if it shows 2.06 i suppose you have XDA3/Qtek909/pda2k.

Is This the correct section ?
I have a xda2 exec. I tried to update my rom, the congratulations screen displayed with a checking informaton on device message, this froze for some time so I disconnected the usb cable. when I tried to reset it, I get is a dispaly with just colours on it and it does nothing else, when I try to update again it shows an error connection error 101, also the device is not recognised. Is there a way to resolve this issue please and can someone be kind enought to direct me.
I used the rom update from - my-xda.com/xdaexec_soft2.html

Try to hard reset your device
hold buttons: "-" + "-"
and then reset
so in practical terms, push the top 2 dash keys which are between your green and red phone icon buttons, and while holding them reset your device using the pen.
this should give you a white screen with a little menu.
You can now select clear device or something, I think it's the 0 or the X
it should work
if that doesn't work try to put your device in Bootloader
buttons: Backlight (front little button) + power button + reset button (with your pen)
again, hold the backlight and power button, then reset button
the screen should be dark, but if you look real close it would say USB or Serial v1.0 or v1.1 or something
you should be able to flash now using the tool

To both members above, thank you for your time. I am now using the update tool, hopefully this will now work. I used the method pressing the light button and power and reset. (Bootloader)
Tried to upload the software on my MDA Pro and all of a sudden the screen on the MDA goes blank. I've tried master reset and i press 0 and it says clearing or whatever. Then it goes to the USB/Serial Screen and it reads v1.01 at the bottom. What do I do?

You just need to run the Upgrade again. As long as it says USB when you have it connected, no harm is done.

No...There is definately some damage done. Its stuck on the boot load screen Where it says Serial at the top and V1.01 on the bottom. I just got it new in the box untouched and totally screwed it up trying to update the software to "UNI_TMUK_130114_130232_11003_WWE_BL101_Ship" I dont know what the original rom software was at all. It went to the grey screen that it is stuck on now and the power nor reset button works. The letters are still there in black on a grey non lit screen. Master reset (soft keys+rest) brings me to the screen but after i press 0 it says clearing now but goes right back to the serial/v# screen(boot load mode)....thats it...
Look it's not damaged. It boots to the bootloader. So long as it has the bootloader it's COMPLETELY recoverable.
1st thing you need to do is look here.
Scroll to the bottom and use method 2... It's a LOT easier and has saved my bacon many times!.

When performing downgrade from 2005 -> 2003se, I followed onscreen messages, but Axim is black/dead/ dunno what to do to "make him alive again" !?!?!
I searched a bit forums and found out that:
In a few seconds, you'll be prompted to do a hard reset by pressing the power and reset buttons simultaneously. Ignore this message. What you want to do is hit the power, wireless, and reset buttons again.

I still have warranty by Dell, but I am not sure if they will cover that...

It's working now...
After taking battery out, inserting it back... putting boot/image on sd card...
This is crucial: combination and timing
1. wifi+power button (pressed - hold them) + reset (quick press/release), in meantime hold wifi+power buttons and release them when loader menu shows!, (WM50_B_A05_X50v_WM2k3SE_EN.nb0)
2. !!!VERY IMPORTANT STEP!!!
A) device tells you to hard reset device (power + reset), DON'T do that!!!
what you need to do here is wifi+power, then quickly press reset button (less than a second) in the meantime button you need to hold buttons (wifi+power) until boot menu appears
3. choose this WM50_K_A05_X50v_WM2k3SE_EN.nb0, confirm it 2 times and wait for round 15min!
4. the result is: alive DELL with 2003se os, test this, 100% success guaranteed!!!

I tried to follow the instructions provided in https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3523595 by @eguif (thanks for providing the instructions!) but with some changes that made my Cube go into a restart loop.
I tried to install Spanish language to my Cube (build 14393), but I used the cabs from a previous Win10 build (build 10586) (don't ask why, I am still trying to understand why I did it...).
Result: Now my Cube starts Win 10 (I can see the logo) and then restarts once and again.
Does anyone have any idea on whether I can recover the device or else will be a nice paperweight??

try:
hold power button and volume down together, when vibrate, release power and hold Volume minus until show exclamation mark
connect charger
then press in order: volume up -> volume down -> power button -> volume down.
this works with Lumia phones, don't know if it works with Cube also

i did exactly the same with the german language pack (only mainos.production.... file) and ended up in a boot Loop. but hard reset

then press in order: volume up -> volume down -> power button -> volume down." worked fine for me. BUT: dont use this false language pack again because you will end up in the bootloop again. i had to choose english and where able to Setup win 10 14393.
now i´m searching for the right german language pack to install it over the wrong one. maybe then everything should be fine.
so if anybody knows where i can download the .cab files for 14393 please let me know. would be really helpfull
