I found this but for those of us with BL-109 and WM6 I don't think this works as advertised.
My vote goes for 2 or 4, though I like what 3 says!

Hi, unless there are other people who are gonna cook up wm6, Kyphur said he wasn't gonna change the boot splash, so to change the image that you are referring to I think, all you to do swap out the welcomehead.96.png image in your windows directory, no bootloader messin with.
Unless you are actually talkin about the htc boot/splash screen.
Edit: I think I was mistaking just that one persons comment about changing the boot splash, for the contest screen.

I've been really wanting to help the community lately because its given me so much help. So I'll add my contributions.
Let me know if you want some sort of variation (such as change of background/fading/change of font). I whipped these ones up in about 30 minutes.
Hopefully it might come to some good use.

I opened it up for custom xda today themes, that ways kyphur wouldn't have to use the beta key in the registry and could use an xda tsk instead (that would be his choice of course!.) Thanks for the votes but feel free to vote more than once!

Mine a probably a bit more suited to Splash Screens than today background themes. If you want a today background theme I could easily adapt or create one so that its faded into the background.
Actually I just had a brilliant idea for a splash screen - I'll see if I can complete it tonight (its 3am here so might head to bed soon). Although I'm sure no ones actually going to be waiting up. Just hope it helps.

I tried the suggestions in wiki

What nice work! So many are drop dead georgeous. I chose Live Glow, mainly because I'd prefer a darker splash when rebooting the PPC indoors, don't like the bright flash of a white or light background screen. Plus it's mentions WM6 as well.
#6 and #8 are both great, I just preferred the matching Today theme for #8 (sorry #6!)
I like 6 & 8.
If I had to choose one, then 6.

Considering we can download these files and drop them in our \Windows directory to change the OS splash screen (hint, hint), that would be very useful! Thanks Mix!
Just so everyone remembers, I will embedd the today theme that matches #8 (WMXL Areo) and the Black WMXL Today theme (both from the original contast thread) into the Rom.

You get one vote for a splash screen that kyphur will integrate into the new rom, the rest will be placed in a thread that anyone can download. As for #41, there were only 10 spots for the poll so I could only include splash screens that had at least one vote or more. It was nothing against your design, we simply ran out of space. I will link the new thread from this poll and you post as many splash screens as you like.

Hey OrganicM, It looks sick but if i could suggest something, then it would be the title, instead of making the "temperature" the title, why not make it My Weather or something along those lines and underneath it - you could make a line for the temperature, upto u - otherwise it looks amazing - Keep up the good work and post a .cab when ur done

I know, that's what I wanted to do initially, but this damn TestUIPlugin, will NOT let me do two lines of text!! Only thing I could do, is append the current temperature at the end of the forecast blurb... But it wouldn't really make it stand out.

I took a look at your cab _setup.xml and I was wondering what needs to be changed to the Chome_320x240.cpr for the app to work, since I prefer my chubby panels and its icons and overall layout (just a matter of taste, you know).
Perhaps you could post a little step by step guide for the ones like me who want to implement it by hand, with the needed files in a single compressed file (zip, rar, your choice really, I've already got them from the cab ).

If I'm not mistaken, I thought he intended to post the .cab for the "chubby panels" soon anyway. I am on the same page with you, Cassiano. I like my plump panels, but I'd like to install Organic's .cab too. I don't necessarily wanna change anything in my homescreen layout--aside from including the new weather panel.

Is anyone else have trouble updating the city? I'm trying to get Seattle on here, but it won't find it by name, and if using the zip is keeps showing sunny Las Vagas... That sucks, mainly 'cause it nice there and not here... Thanks.

Just set the plugins as "disabled" right in the registry.
Updated first post again, this time I added a "last updated" time in the top right corner. This gets updated everytime the weather script runs, so you have an idea how recent the info is.
Alright...for some reason it won't allow my city to be displayed when setting up Weather Watcher. It'll take me to a blank IE screen. I made the change to my city in 'Options', like instructed. Then tried to open 'Update Weather'. It would take me back to the blank IE screen. On the homescreen--the weather sliding panel is blank and just has a sun in it. Is there something I'm not doing?

Are you sure you're spelling it correctly ? Mine finds it right away.

Anyone having trouble with the "windows\start menu" and this tool ?
When I navigate to that folder when SmartToolKit is installed, my screen starts flickering when I browse to the first shortcuts (Active sync,..)
Allready tried a hardreset and reflashed the rom (NRG Rose Rom v1.7 - Remade by Ricky and Stylez ), but no luck. Problem shows itself after installing SmartToolKit (RC08)
Will try to upload a vid showing the problem.

To keep space on the device the only things i would advise installing to device is things that load @ startup as device memory is read faster and also the Movie Player as you are reading the Movie from memory card.
Reason to keep more space on the device as it slows down access when you fill up just like a HD even though it is solid state.

Yes I try to keep as much as possible on my storage card, unless is a program, like you said that it necessarily needs to be in the device.

I previously sliced roloracer's colored topbar theme with the new delicacy theme to acquire some great effects. but now i need it in .cab form for others who want to colored topbar. i have all the files and my .xml in a zip file. if anyone wants to take a look at it and compile the cab and tell me what the heck i did wrong it would be greatly appreciated. shoot me a pm or post if you want me to send you the file for you to look at. it's always somethings small.. and i'm sure i'm missing it. proofreaders make the world go round.

well you know... i spent all day at the state fair and then doing homework and by the time it came to photoshop time my eyes where getting tired.. so i saved the hard work and went to the coding... but apparently that requires mental powers that aren't there.. i swear i need to mute my email notification. every time i go to sleep i get a message from xda with a reply waking me up again. if you give me pixel sizes i think i'll create some amazing topbar images. all you have to do is make the cab.. since thats the part i seem to fail at.

I noticed ted's hero theme and drizzys hero rom use a different gmail icon. Unfortunately it still doesnt blend well in my opinion. But could someone combine the current MAIL icon with ted and drizzy's gmail icon?!?!!
Basically the mail icon mailbox with the gmail envelope hanging out of the mailbox a little bit?
the icon space may not allow for that and remain the same size as the other hero icons though. so maybe just the google G on the rightmost side of the mailbox as a secondary idea?

I really have no idea what im doing lol. I JUST downloaded gimp not too long ago and im learning as i go. I figured out just enough of it to do those images. Im sure somebody with real skills could make a better 1. Like 1 with an actual opened door on it instead of just erasing that part of the mailbox lol. My imaginations way bigger than my skills r with that program but ill keep trying. Glad you like it tho!

the actual mailbox hasnt been modded except to create a open look for the envelope because i wanted it as close 2 the mail icon as possible but i can try it...that shouldnt b hard! lol (still learnin where things r and how 2 use em)
Why not make a widget, like handcent sms uses one ?
An icon with a number in it, so you can see haw many new mails you have.
