WM6 DST Update? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Im running my TyTN, on Cingular, with the Vanilla WM6. I installed the DST fix from Cingular.com/DST07, my time did NOT change when it was supposed to. So my question is: Is there an update out there for WM6? Is it built in WM6? Will i have to manually change the time every DST?

There is no need for a WM6 Daylight Savings Update. It should already be in the OS. Have a look here (very last question on page): http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/daylightsaving/default.mspx

ok, so i installed the file from Cingular.com, did that restrict the time change you think? can i unistall that?

Silly question, but sometimes these things are overlooked: In your Regional Settings (Start -> Settings -> System tab -> Regional Settings), are you sure you've selected a Timezone for which the Daylight savings changes apply?

Where's the DST update for WM6? I can't find it!!!
(Heh, heh!)

Changing the time on O2

Is there a way to change the clock time from military time to regular on the XDA lls ? thanks
Go into Settings/System/Regional Settings, then click the Time tab and select HH:mm:ss for time style. That should give you a 24-hour clock.
Thanks for the reply, I am looking to change to 12 hour, time..thanks
you can change it to any format you want in that settings section noted above =)
It still does not work, it still shows 24 hr time on the today screen and O2 screen,, Any help would be appreciated.
it works on mine, try a soft reset for changes to make effect. and are u doing it as h/mm instead of hh/mm
Thanks for the reply, but all I have is h:mm:ss tt ,H:mm:ss,hh:mm:ss tt, HH:mm:ss. Thanks
Nobody owns O2 XDAlls who can help me with this time change. I just want the regular time not 24 time display.. Thanks
Time Format Settings
Hi Timeback
I have found that the time formats that are selectable in Regional settings, are different depening on the ROM version you have. For example, i could always get the 24hr clock setting when I used the O2 UK ROM (1.31 WWE) , but could not find it on the i-mate 1.40.176WWE ... Which ROM version, Radio ROM and Extended ROM are you running right now?
Regards
Chris

You need to use the hh:mm:ss tt setting. Select this one in regional settings and then go to Calendar to see that it has taken effect. Let me know how you get on.. PS. There are some later (and more stable) ROM images avaiable for the xdaIIs now if you are feeling adventurous..or O2 should have their 1.40 vesrion out in the next month hopefully. Are you getting may system crashes or freezes on that ROM and Radio?

Do not believe that you can but cannot say for sure... What device do you have..? I did not recognize that ROM as a Blue Angel / XDAIIs ROM..?

Yes, the O2 UK 1.31ROM has a number of 'quirks' that will hopefully be fixed in the upcoming release. one thing you could do now woukd be a hard reset, installing it in corporate mode. This stops the O2Active interface loading, which has been a source of many problems in this ROM. Good luck!

Does anyone have an original ROM for the MDA pro?
Thanx
I am also searching for this rom. Who can help? needs to be original dutch rom.

MDA pro
Please can anyone with the original NL ROM make a dump and upload it
Thank you very much!
it seems that the mda pro has d2s commands turned off. So the device is locked from getting image dumps.
At least I have no clue how to make one with the current tools.
btw. How can you make a extended rom that can be used with the upgrade program. I want to revert back to my original rom, but it seems there is no possible way to do it.
Does anyone know the gprs settings for the mda-pro as it is not entered in the imate image.
ps I have the mda-pro dutch version.

OK I see most of the guys are dutch so I can ask...
I want to change the ROM of my Dutch MDA-PRO unlocket with KPN subscription to the JASJAR ROM, is it risky and does it work wel.
What is missing in the JAS JAR ROM, like maybe the Dutch t9 or any other settings does the video call work ?
What happens if there is a new JASJAR ROM will it symply install or do we have to patch things again ??
Rom Change
Churchill Why don't you ask WIZ and BarnOwl they know the ins and outs.
Good Luck
Actually, I don't know anything yet about the differences between the stock MDA rom and the Jasjar rom published here.
Except the fact that it has a slightly higher rom number, that is......
And because my stock MDA Pro is one of the most stable phone edition devices I used so far there is no reason whatsoever to change to Jasjar rom and void my T-Mobile warranty completely.
If there is a way to make a complete rom image then the situation is different ofcourse. But I have not found a way to do that yet......

New Unversal ROM T-Mobile Germany with AKU2

T-Mobile Germany has released a new ROM (AKU2-Update). I Have Uploaded it to the ftp-Server (Filename: TMOB_DEU_pro_aku2.0_05-2006.zip).
Works fine with my MDA Pro. AKU2 works with Exchange and the speed (I think) its faster.
I have no problems.
ROM Version: 1.30.113 GER
ROM Datum: 04/13/2006
Radio Version: 1.10.03
Protokoll-version: 42.44.P8
ExtRom-version: 1.30.223 GER
The spec's look good,
Do you know if I can have this on my English T-Mobile Pro? Will I be able to set the language to English? Will I still be able to have QWERT*Y*UIP along the top, or is the Y moved?.
Cheers!!
Thank you so much, for this hint. Just downloading it. Do you know if A2DP is included in this Image?
Yes, it supports A2DP .... I have tested it!
BE CAREFUL - NEW BOOTLOADER
If you are waiting for an unlocking solution, DO NOT DO THIS UPGRADE. It contains a new version of the Universal Bootloader, which could make unlocking in the future impossible.

No, the Roms normally only contain one language at a time. Unfortunately you have to wait for the english one to be released. But once the german one is released, all other language versions should come very shortly.
skip bootloader-upgrade
I wonder whether it is possible to skip the bootloader-upgrade (bl.nbf) and just load the OS & EXTROM.
Anyone have an idea if this will harm the operation/stability of the device?
skip bootloader-upgrade
I installed it without upgrading the BL, no Probs!
Start Update without connecting your Device and loook into your Temp Directory, there is a new EXE-File - copy to somewhere, stop the Update and run this new EXE!
The new ROM looks fine but
- how do I get back the Wireless-Tab on Today-Screen
- how do I get back the original (green and blue) DialPad-Skin
- can I reconfigure the T-Mobile Today-PlugIn

Add the following keys to the registry (Confirmed to work on AKU2 ROMs)

"Order"=dword:00000000
"Enabled"=dword:00000001

With German Windows XP:
c:\dokumente und einstellungen\BENUTZER\lokale einstellungen\temp\pftxx.tmp\UNI_TMDE_130113_130223_11003_GER_Ship.exe
"Benutzer" is the Account you are logged in

Definietely not. T-Mobile says on the download page (in German) that an AKU2 upgrade which is compatible with BB will be out in July.
Sorry & Greetings,
Andreas
Hello there,
installed the update 2 days ago - everything was working fine, surfing around, testing A2DP, WLAN, etc.
...but since yesterday i can not connect to the internet aymore.
It dials in via UMTS/GPRS, connects but nothing more. MyIpConfig.exe says:
Adapter Address: 00:00:00:00:00:00
IP Address: 172.21.30.136
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway: 172.21.30.136 <-?? the device itself is the default gateway??
DNS-Servers: 193.254.160.130
193.254.160.1
...rest is empty

Has anyone from germany a clou why/if these settings are incorrect? Anyone else the same problem?
Can someone not using aku2 post his network-settings when dialed in?
I tried reinstalling update and resetting device several times, when updating setup leaves information about currently installed versions of radio, ce and rom empty...is this the usual way?
«edit»
got it now working. The Problem was the germen resellerdebitel, who changed the dns-IP. Very kind of them don't telling anyone about the changes.
I just unlocked my Universal and now I'd like to upgrade my rom to the new T-Mobile rom because mine is from August last year. So my question is: will the phone still be unlocked after the reflash - if not can I reunlock it?
Is there any easy rom extractor available?
Thanks.

WMXL v0.30 Pre-Release Edition...

This thread is for discussing the Pre-Release Edition of v0.30 of Windows Mobile XDA-Live.
Please do not post requests for the download link, it will not be made available.
I do plan on a public release of WMXL v0.30 on April 1st, 2007.
The Pre-Release Edition was only made available to those who have contributed towards the development of XDA-Live.
All fixes from v0.20 remain. There is no PDF Reader installed.
Changes:
HTweakC XDA-Live Edition embedded! See below for features.
MS Hearts is fixed.
ATI Imageon Video Fix (from AKU 3.3).
Phone SIM PIN Security Pad Skin Fixed.
User-Agent String for PIE & MMS Changed to allow proper detection of Device Capabilities.
Connection Icon distinquishes between 3G & HSDPA.
Set Phone Radio Status to “On” after power off.
Fixed error in Registry Memory Settings from v0.20.
System Files required for PTT support are included.
HTC Recorder is installed and set as the default Recorder for Button 5 Press & Hold.
Sim Manager is updated to Version 5.30.
PHM Registry Editor was removed as it duplicated a function included in Task Manager.
HTweakC XDA-Live Edition (only works in XDA-Live Roms)
A special thanks goes out to Mike at "fit4communication anytime" for this.
We have been honored with a special edition of HTweakC that includes new features to help us get our Hermes configured to our liking after every Hard Reset or Rom Flash!
To use the Auto Install Features do the following:
Create “AutoInstall” Folder in the Root. In “AutoInstall” create three Folders; “Cabs”, “Registry” & “MyDevice”.
If you currently use HTweakC, copy your HTweakC.ini File into the “AutoInstall” Folder.
Copy any Cab Files you want automatically installed into the “Cabs” Folder. For example everyone who has a 8525 should have the WMXL 8525 Keyboard Fix.CAB File here.
If you have any Registry Files, copy them into the “Registry” Folder.
Finally, if you have any files you want copied into your Windows Folder place them into the “MyDevice” Folder.
Now after you install WMXL v0.30 on every Hard Reset these Items will automatically be installed. Note you will get an error if you don't create the folders on your storage card but it won't cause any harm.
There will be an updated WMXL v0.30 Release Version based on your input and including the following:
SlingPlayer Support Fix.
Trimmed OS Rom for extra Storage Capacity.
Possible "Cleaner" version of the Connection Icons (I noticed that the PIN Pad Skin fix caused them to revert back to the older style).
Updates to XDA-Live Edition of HTweakC!
WMXL Supporters (you know who you are ) will get the Download Link at least 24 hours before public release which is scheduled for April 1st.
Thank you again for all of your support in making this Rom happen.
OS Version
Thanks, kyphur
Just to make sure, before I'll flash - what's the OS version shown ?
Have you had a chance to play around with tadzio's method of gaining free space? Do you suppose you might implement this technique into your next release?
I'll be testing that this week. I didn't want to delay getting v0.30 to the supporters.
The version number of this release will report as 5.1.195 so BBConnect & Goodlink will work with it.

Newbie install guide
Hey people, I went overboard replying to a PM last night and made an install guide for WMXL (catering for settings and etc...)
Since more and more users are heading for the cooked roms section (and specifically for WM6) I can update this for v0.3 of WMXL when it is released!?
Take a peek and see what you think!?
restore from 20.1
a trivial question to most I'm sure, but as both roms - WMXL v0.20.1 and v0.30, are of similar foundations, can I restore a backup of v0.20.1 to v0.30?
the back up program being spb backup.

I have studied your upgrade guide and I think it is superb, it should save the same questions being asked over and over again about upgrading, which does tend to fill up the rom upgrade threads when you are searching for an answer to other problems.
Brilliant keep up the great work!

It's a great guide and nicely structured. Great job Mrvanx! Is it possible for you to add a section on how to do a ROM upgrade using Vista? I know it's been mentioned in a lot of threads but it would be nice to have it in one place like this one.
Thanks.
