car kit pinout

hi...with regard to the xda car kit not charging the xda11, could anyone provide the pinout of the original car kit, which has a 15 pin d type connector for the cradle.

pinout difference
according to what i know......the xda11 will only charge if either pin 16/17/or 18 are grounded. the pinout for the carkit appears to show pin 16 going nowhere...i wonder if i grounded this/...any comments?....in the xda might 16/17/18 be internally connected, wheearas in xda11 their not?

I would try grounding it and see if you get a charge to the xda2, cant do any harm.

Just ordered an iMate JasJar as an upgrade from my Blue Angel and I was wondering...:
-would the cables I have still work? Are the plugs same same? Can I use the same charging cable? Do I have to switch the charging head?
-are third party SW compatible with PocketWin 5.0? TomTom 5?

all devices with 2005 should run the same programs
so all programs which are compatible with 2005 on himalaya or blue angle or other devices you can get 2005 on will run on universal

I beleive the cables are different as the JASJAR Univeral XDA EXEC uses mini USB to connect to the computer.
Not sure about charging tho

XDA-1 and Satelite Navigation

I'd like to use my XDA as a sat-nav system. What do I need to do this and how much would it cost? Is it possible or should I buy TOM-TOM instead ?

I have read some posts relating to sat-nav. Does anyone know where I can get a GPS reciever in the UK that works with XDA-1?

Yes, it's very easy. Tomtom 5 runs fine on an XDA1, and you can buy a XDA-to-9-pin serial connector for £13 at expansys (http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=XDASERIALCAB), so you can use any GPS unit with a serial output. They're much cheaper and more reliable than bluetooth GPS!

Thanks for that. Is the cacle to attach the GPS reciever to the XDA? I already have a USB cable to sync my XDA with the PC.

yes, the cable attaches your GPS to the XDA... but it is a 9-pin serial cable (RS232), not USB. I hope you understand that serial and USB are different things. Does your Activesync cable have a serial connector on it?

I have a standard cable that connects the cradle to the PC (usb). This I guess is no use for connecting the gps unit to the XDA. Does the serial cable not come with the GPS unit ?

You receive the GPS antenna and a Y cable to connect it to the 12-V plug in your car and to the XDA.
I bough that receiver 3 months ago and it works really well with my XDA and with TomTom.

XDA Orbit Headphone+charger

I am using XDA Orbit 2, as you know the headphone is connected via the USB connector as well the charger.
I am looking for a splitter or kind that i be able to connect the Headphone while it's charged, i can't use BT headphone as the internal radio dosn't support it and the wire one need to be use.

This device on ebay appears to do the job
it's a usb to audio jack with another USB port in the side of the jack end to which I assume you can insert the charging usb cable.

i hav problm with ma O2 XDA i purchase frm someone else who upgrade it to wm 5 to wm 6.5 wwe tomal....
when i connet to it with pc no conntection shows... when i open its body, usb connecter is not working properly all connections are dammaged except charging..... tell me how i can re coonect its all connection with usb jack plzzzzzzz help me :'(

if you mean the charger usb ports are desoldered/unconnected to the motherboard?
you're prettymuch SOL. you can use bluetooth to sync, however. soldering pins that small is damnnear impossible.

charging connector is fine but the other connectors are dameged

if any other solution how to sold them
