Does the 4GB MiniSD card work in WM6 - P3600 ROM Development

Does anyone know if a 4GB MiniSD card works in WM6? Or does it have the same problems as WM5? And is your card a MiniSD or a MiniSDHC

Hi, I have a Topram miniSD 4GB running on my Trinity with mUm ROM and it works but it's not a HCSD!

I have a Transcend 4GB SDHC and it iworks fine.

MobyMemory miniSD 4GB is also working fine on mUn's WM6 2.0.0.SE.

My minisd 4gb sandisk sdhc works well with mun's rom

Oooo this is very promising!

Another one. I have a 4GB Transcend miniSD HCSD working without problems in mUm-ROM.

So, with WM6 the 4GB Transcend miniSDHC are working, while with the original WM5 it doesn't ? Should I confirm my order from flashman582 on ebay then?

I'd give it a month or two, incase they start corrupting or something.

my 4GB sdhc transcend just got corrupted after a couple of weeks of working well. Can't even read it with external reader

Exactly. Also if you want to buy one at a retail shop, Sandisk makes card readers that will read the SDHC cards.

Thx for the info Guys......

What is the best 2G SD form my Jamin?

Sandisk, Panasonic or ....?
I recommend Transend 150x (fast) 4gb for about £55
What is the max sd size I can put on my Jamin? Is it 4G the max size?
In theory there is not a maximum size, but until you buy a particular brand and try it, you never fully know...

Ha, I have the same and I think it's pretty good too. Don't hesitate to buy a 4GB card - the space is never enough
4gb microSD or SD
Now I use Transcend 1Gb MMCmobile and I decide to buy card with more space.
Which one 4Gb card are complitable with Qtek S200 - microSD or SD?
I want microSD because of microSD is complitable with lastest Nokia and Benq-Siemens mobile phones so it's more universal.
So, which 4Gb microSD with adapter is fully complitable with Qtek S200? Anybody test it? Or better to buy standard (full phisical size) SD?
SD is the right choice for the Prophet, but if you intend to change your phone/PPC soon you are better off with a microSD.
I myself had a 4GB SD for my Prophet but I swapped it for a Herald/P4350. Nice device but it uses microSD. That sucks
microSD so far is only available as 2GB max. If you need 4GB of space take a SD-Card if you can live with 2GB than definitly go for microSD.
It usually comes with an adapter to be used as a SD-Card.
btw 4GB is the maximum size for the Prophet.
I am always wondering about this because I use a Dopod 818 pro, and the manufacturer's website says it supports up to 1GB SD Card. So it can support a 4GB on that model? Can any verify this for me, thanks!

Yes, 4GB SD-Card can be used by Prophet devices. I for myself used it for the last ten months without a problem. anything above 4GB I cannot guaranty. I'm not sure about SDHC-Cards if they are working in those devices.
Thanks Kelvin for your info. I will try to buy a standard 4GB SD card then. One more question, do you think the speed rating of the SD card has any effect on the performance? Would getting a 150x card be better?

I checked my old SD card and it was a 133x Speed. I was pleased with it. I'm not sure if the 150x performes better/faster on the Prophet, actually not even sure about the Prophet SD slot read/write performance. But in general it won't hurt going for the 150x if the price doesn't differ much from a 133x. SO GO FOR THE 150x
Thanks for your answer. Will buy it at the weekend!
It would be faster, But not on the prophet
The prophet can't use the speed since it cannot write data on a memory card so fast, Actually, Today the only speed limit is the device itself, The cards are allways getting faster and faster and faster and...........
Hello again!
I have choise between two 4Gb cards for my Prophet:
1. Transcend 4Gb Secure Digital card [MLC, 30x] (43$)
or
2. Transcend 4Gb mini Secure Digital card SDHC miniSD (43$)
or
3. Transcend 4Gb Secure Digital card 150x (50$)
Which of them is the best for Prophet (Qtek S200)?
My choise - 2nd or 3rd card (prefer 2nd because more universal) but I would like to read people's opinion. Can i feel real difference between this cards onn Prophet?

Not sure if Prophet can cope with SDHC technology, probably not.
So, 4GB SD Card will recognize in my Dopod 818 Pro with still original WM5 shipped ROM?
I tried a 4gb SDHC card with my prophet today, it didn't work. I wonder if there's a patch for sdhc support.

Maximum Size Of a MicroSD (XDA Orbit)

Hello! I called the customer service of O2 today. It says that a storage-card (MicroSD) for the XDA Orbit cannot bei bigger than 512 MB. I cannot believe that but is this correct? Does anybody know the maximum size for a storage card?
Not true - my Orbit runs fine with a 1Gb card, as does my MDAC3.
I am happily running a 2Gb card in my Orbit
Where's the limit?
What about 2GB or 4GB? Will they work with the XDA Orbit?

Hi,
I'm not as experienced as some others on this forum... I'm sure they'll correct my info
I spent a day or so seraching for info before I got my card, and FWI here are my notes:
2GB fine.
4Gb may be problematic.
Thickness of SD card may be a problem. The latch/Phone card has to be correctly clicked into place around the card.
Some makes of card seem better. Sandisk HIGH SPEED seem to be good.
I've got a 2Gb version and it's ok, but read others experiences in the forums.
I got both Lexar and CNex tools to check formatting could be done with full control and also to provide recovery possibility.
Hope that may help.
damned micro sd card
please can someone help?
i have a 1gb sandisk micro card which is being reported by my orbit as 512mb(minus FAT). i put it into my computer and it is clearly 1gb. i have tried putting more onto the card via the orbit, and it says "no more space", but it is fine via the pc. what's going on?!?
thanks in advance,
Tom
Maybe you should try WM5Storage and format SD card on PC. There is detailed instruction how to do it on forum.
afaik there are no 4gb micro sd cards. 2gb is max for them atm
I sell 2gb micro sd for the orbit on a daily basis and had no problems with them, I even use one myself.

not true i have one and its working!
Mobile 2007 .... what make and how I was under the impression 4GB were not compatible?
I'm currently using a 2GB Sandisk microSD card and it is perfectly working.
Regarding 4GB microSD cards, they are called microSDHC (High Capacity) and as far as I know, the Artemis is not able to read from of write to them.
That's what I thought but it appears mobile2007 has got it to work?
I've got a 1gig with all sorts on it. I think 2gig is the biggest at the moment.

It cannot support a 4GB MicroSD card because all 4GB+ are SDHC. The S620/S621 can only read up to 2GB. A phone like the HTC Touch is able to support 4GB+ SDHC memory.
But there are others who says that it works on their device running WM6.... Can anyone confirm that?
What 'others'...? Can you confirm that with a link to a particular post?

Okay, I am not sure which source you are referring to BUT there was one thread where somebody found a key in the registry that was named "SDHC" which started a speculation that the Dash could of supported SDHC cards. However, it has been confirmed that SDHC in that registry meant "Secure Digital Host Controller" which is used for the STANDARD MICROSD reader.
http://www.jamerican.net/?p=9
Trust Me! If the Dash supported SDHC MicroSD cards, there would definitely be a HUGE THREAD about it.
Hello, I have a french s620 upgraded with french ROM WM6. And now with WM6 the S620 accept microSDHC.
My Sandisk microSDHC 4 GB works fine. It works fine too in my Kaiser
I m waiting for my 6 GB and test in the s620 when I receive the card.
Sorry for my bad english ...
Hmmm... same hardware here, same OS, just tried it -- my device doesn't see it. Just one of life's many mysteries I guess

Well I can confirm that the 6GB SDHC card from Sandisk works brilliantly. No problems. You just have to be sure you have Windows Mobile 6.0 installed on your phone and you are good to go!
4gb works fine!
My s620 runs a 4gb SDHC frim Sandisk. it works perfect! I´ve installed WM6 on my s620. Merry Christmas!

็ำHermes supports 8G micro SD card?

Hi,Does anyone know if 838 pro supports 8G micro SD card? Thanks
yes
i have spv m3100 with vp3g 3.62.3 5.2.1622 build 18128
radio 1.54 sandisk 8GB and it is working very good
There's a load of other threads on this if you search. Answer is yes.
WB
Thank you very much . Micro sd 2 g nearly full .I have to get one
btw_: it supports up to 32gb if needed (sdhc standards...)
woah 32GB?!??!
when that becomes economical, i'll buy one and start using my hermes as a portable hard drive...if only bit torrent worked on a hermes....*grin*
It does...

Hi everyone, for my first post I'd like to rreport that my 8g sandisk sdhc micro sd card is working perfectly. I'd advise anyone to go for the sandisks rather than a cheap ebay knock off!
Yes...but only with some 6.0 roms and all 6.1 roms. That roms adds driver for SDHC
why does my 4gb and 8gb SDHC cards always kill themselves, but my 2gb mini SD is fine?
I'm using a 4gb SDHC san Disk
and a 8gb kingstong.
and a 2gb adata.
Thank you!
Do a search for "sdhc wm5 patch". Download, unrar and run the cab file. Make sure it installs on the Hermes, NOT the SD card...
Cheers...
my lil bro is using Wm6.1 blinky's rom.
does that patch just allow SDHC? or does it fix my problem?
because i can see the card.
thanks
I'm using this rom from vp3G's wm6 v362 AT&T rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334946
on my herms 300 using 8525 housing and it read my sandisk micro sdhc 8g and working fine
Could just be the Hermes doesn't like them, especially if they work in an sd card reader. I have had bad cards before but the pc also couldn't read it.
I use a sandisk 8Gb card and have had no probs... My advice, go with works for everyone else, it may cost a little more but it saves on the headaches....
Cheers...
thanks
It works in a the SD card reader and i can use them fine in my camera. it never messes up in the camera.
thers no point in me buying a 8gb sandisk if my 4gb sandisk won't work either.
about that WM5 SD HC patch. is that for WM5 phones only? should i install it on my WM 6.1?
Thanks
Your wm6.1 rom should already be sdhc compliant, but yes, it should work fine on wm6( theres a wm6 varient). It was only WM5 and a few WM6 versions that weren't.
Are you sure its an ORIGINAL sandisk as I've had a few fakes that died horribly on me too.
Cheers...
I doubt new egg sells fakes...
But thanks.
Thank for answer I want to know it
i use in my hermes my older sdhc 8 gb by sandisk and all right

Will artemis support 16 GB Microsd....

I have one question, not on original rom but on the Micro SDHC supproted any cooked ROM will support 16 GB or NOT?
Tell me if anybody knows,
If yes i want to buy it......
I know 8 GB is supported in Artemis SDHC supported ROMs,
I own 4 GB now...

That's the que I m asking that in the factory made original ROM this Artemis dont support more than 2gb, but after an upgrade by a little software or any sdhc supported ROM it's supporting upto 8 gb. So, as Htc says its not SD2.0 compatible.
So after that also(after upgrading) will it support 16 GB.
That's my que.
Does microSDHC faster in real word ?
Such as record VDO, Take a picture, activesync...
I thought I answered your question. Any device that takes a SDHC card WILL take anything up to 32GB MicroSDHC.
you said you have 4gb card, it is SDHC, so you can put the 16gb card, you can also put a 32gb if you can find one.
Thanks man
so my artemis will support 32 GB
fantastic
where did you found the 16gb card?
I made a search and not found to buy one.
idk if it helps any1, but i have 16GB kingston in my artemis, rom is touch vanilla 4.0.2
it reads it well, i use it for music and all that, but sometimes it freakingly losing it, totally =( i have to soft-reset my device to death, like dozens of times to get my sd back. that's A problem, and idk what to do w/ it. trying to find a solution.
in a meanwhile setting up touch full with cube 4.0.2.
