Collection of all the fixes for WM6 - HTC Excalibur

We should post all the fixes the have been found for wm6 on the dash here to make it easier to find....
Reminder FIX:
From RandyRants.com:
Step 1: Make a change to your Normal profile. Raise the volume of some alert or something. Change something to get the device to create the following file: \Application Data\Profiles\Normal.prof.xml
Step 2: Connect via ActiveSync on XP or WMDC on Vista and copy this file to your desktop.
Step 3: Edit this XML file - add the following blurb to the SoundCategories section:
<characteristic type="Reminder">
<parm name="Script" value="v0p" />
<parm name="InitVol" value="4" />
</characteristic>
Step 4: Save this file on your PC.
Step 5: Set the System flag on this file. You can do this with a right click on the file and setting the properties or via a command prompt: attrib +s normal.prof.xml.
Step 6: Now copy it back to \Application Data\Profiles
I posted this to another thread, but the steps have changed... seems that if you don't have the System attribute set on the profile XML files before moving them to the phone it renders them useless. It also seems that on Vista with WMDC it keeps the attributes fine (inspite of having to change the OS to even see the files) but on XP/2003 with ActiveSync the System flag is removed when the file comes from the phone.
Either way, good luck with it!

getwsted at HF found a solution for the screen rotation issue:
Add the following Key "Rotation" under HKLM\System\GDI\
e.g. [HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation]
Then Add this dword.
"LandscapeMode"=0
It solved my problem with Orb and other Videos with WMP in full screen mode.

SMS Sent Notification Removal:
Download this Here YOU HAVE TO SOFT RESET FOR IT TO WORK!!
Bluetooth Voice Command Fix:
WM6 Voice Command 1.6
Voice Command is a very powerful program that will allow you to control your WM6 Excalibur with your voice.
* Hands-free phone
* Dial your phone by voice using the phone number
* Contact lookup
* View contacts with a voice command
* Have the subject, time, and location of upcoming appointments read to you
* Media player
* Program starter
* Device Status
Enable Voice Command
Start > Voice Command
Voice Enabled > Yes
Announcement Routing > Bluetooth if Available
This setting will allow Voice Command to use the Excalibur phone speaker to respond to vocal commands, if you don't have a bluetooth headset connected.
IMPORTANT: Soft Reset to enable the changes to Voice Command
After the soft reset, press and hold the home key. This is the default Record Application Button which activates Voice Command. When you hear the beep say, "Help". Voice command will then guide you through the available voice commands.
IMPORTANT: Do not talk directly into the microphone. Hold the phone 4 inches/100mm from your voice. The response from Voice Command will take a few seconds.
A Voice Command tutorial from Microsoft is here.
Enable Voice Command with a Bluetooth Headset
With the current beta release of WM6, you need to modify the following registry settings to use your bluetooth headset with this feature.
NOTE: Your Excalibur has to be application unlocked to make modifications to the registry.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule
The string value needs to be changed from "OEMAGW.dll" to "\Windows\vcbthag.dll".
IMPORTANT: Soft Reset to enable the changes to Voice Command
After the phone reboots, your bluetooth headset will now be able to use Voice Command by pressing the button on your headset. Wait for the beep, then speak the command.
Viel Spaß mit Voice Command,
jromney

please feel free to do that i dont have the time for that...

k i done it

Thanks for the fixes. Unfortunately, none of the work for me. I have the files unhidden and apparently no files appear in my App Data/Profiles folder when modifying any of the profiles.
Also, when trying to add a new key to the GDI registry folder, I get an error message saying I can't do so. I'm using Resco Explorer's registry editor btw.

My friend I had the very same problem you are having now. The reason you are getting that error message is because, your wm6 ROM got corrupted some how. what I did was, reinstall the clean wm5 ROM all over again, after that, I reinstall the new wm6 official upgrade Rom and also you will have to application unlock your device all over again! Now everything will work fine!

Reminder FIX - doesn work.
The reminder fix doesn't seem to work with the release version of WM6 for the Dash.
In fact, if you do this mod, you woun't be able to switch to "Normal" profile.
It seems if the OS determines that the profile's XML file is inavlid in some way, it will refuse to load it, and this mod seems to be invalid to the OS.
This is a BIG bug with the dash (no reminder volume setting) - I hope they release a patch for it.
UPDATE: I just found and read the full version of this fix (where you need to change the "system" attribute) and it actually now does work. I am going to try to create a CAB file to do the patch so users won't have to do all the copy to/from their PC.
UPDATE: See this page for the CAB file - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1271705#post1271705

Does anyone know how to ensure that your time is always in sync with your Exchange server? I never had this problem with WM5 but since I have upgraded my Dash's internal clock seems to have gone cuckoo. If I turn it off, and turn it back on my Dash thinks it's the same time that I turned it off at. It's like the clock just stops (would be nice if it happened in real life!)
Barring a fix, does anyone know of a utility that syncs WM time with a time server over the net using SNTP?
Edit: I found this:

see thats why we use the wiki, so you don't need to bump

Somehow when copying back edited profile files, it does not retain System attribute on the flag, which, as already mentioned earlier, renders profiles unsuable.
Here is a simple workaround that I came across:
1) On your phone, open Vibrate profile for editing. Change something and save. This will force it to create the Meeting.Prof.xml profile file in the Profiles folder.
2) From ActiveSync, navigate to that folder on your phone and rename the file to Normal.Prof.xml
Now you can go back to your phone, open Normal profile for editing and the Reminder option will be there.
Hope this helps.

Unable to change profile
Unable to change profile?
Delete files in Application Data/Home/Profiles
then go to Start - Settings - Profiles
Switch to your desired Profile or re-customize your settings on every profile that you want
**xxxx.prof.xml files in Application Data/Home/Profiles contains the customizations made on every profile, example if you have only customized the Normal profile, normal.prof.xml will be automatically generated at Application Data/Home/Profiles.So deleting the xx.prof.xml file will revert the profile customization back to default.

Soft Key icon missing on XDA Orbit???

Hi guys,
having had various WM5 handsets, I was a little upset to not be able to adjust the soft keys located at the bottom of the today screen. This has been possible on previous units just not the Orbit. The icon is found on the settings/ personal screen under the icon soft keys. I have done a hard reset and the icon still has not appeared. Can anyone suggest a registry entry to enable this function as the pre set options are not required????
I have seen 5 Orbits and all seem to be without it is this different on the artemis or T-mobile Compact III's?
Just to add I was wondering if I would ber able to dopy the icon from my previous device and see if it would work in my XDA Orbit?
Its the softkey applet you are after - place this cpl in the \windows directory soft reset and it should appear. (soft reset not strictly necessary)
Users beware - it is not easily reversible after install - you can delete the cpl but the settings remain the same and you will need to do a registry edit to get back tp previous state.
JC#79:
The Artemis has no Softkey applet, too.
Thanks at meschle
Thanks for that is any issues I should be aware of with using this applet, as in any problems etc?
Also how would I go about removing it from the registy should I indeed choose to do so (problems permitting)?

Change the application launched by Today screen Soft Keys
To change the application launched by the Today screen Left soft key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112\Open = "\Windows\Calendar.exe" (REG_SZ string, including quotes)
To change the title of the Left soft key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112\(Default) = "Calendar" (REG_SZ string, no quotes)
To change the application launched by the Today screen Right soft key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113\Open = "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Contacts.lnk" (REG_SZ string, including quotes)
To change the title of the Right soft key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113\(Default) = "Contacts" (REG_SZ string, no quotes)
Note that 113 normally doesn't exist by default, and probably needs to be created
Also note that there is at least 1 application that allows you to set these through a GUI, developed by FdcSoft called SoftKeyAppletEx.'
For some reason after removal of the applet the defaults dont return - so need editing
Thanks for that I'll give it a try later tonight after I backup the device just to be sure I can restore without any issues.
Also when you say wiki what do you mean have you a link?
Also will the applet allow me to use the softkey function as in previous handsets via softkey icon in personal tab of settings menu (am being blond has been along day)?

How have you tried to set it up? Which shortcut did you use?
I installed the file in the windows dir as advised.
I did a soft reset and attempted to use the New SMS & New MMS shortcuts.
When I try it comes up with the error message:
tnsms.exe
The file 'tnsms' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file.
This also comes up for the file name 'tnmms' am not really sure what to do next, seems all other ones work that I have tried so far?

I dont seem to have those shortcuts - what device are you running?
If you can, attach copies of those lnk files in a zip.
I use wm5newmenu and it already has those shortcuts in its menu - i assigned the menu to left soft key.
I have the o2 XDA Orbit those shortcuts are a part of the messaging programme for starting new sms and mms. I will search the device and see if I can find the files and zip them up on here.
Correction I cannot find the files stated in the error message, so I am at a loss as to what to do next?
Bump
Anyone shed any light on this one? I can enable these shortcuts on my old MDA Compact yet with the applet on the Orbit it is having none of it.
Same here with my Orbit ... I wanted to use left soft key for new SMS, but it gives me an error: The file 'tnsms' cannot be opened. ...Any advice guys?
Cheers ..

Meschle - thank you for the intro to registry editing - good for beginners like me !
I use this:
Just to say, Happy Christmas to all,
AND
The registry setting for the soft keys is a marvel. I reckon it is better than any applet (going from what I hear), I havent tried any applet, I went straight to the registry and I must say It is exactly as promised.
My Setup:
O2 XDA Orbit, Mobile 6, Default Theme
Program to access Registry:
SOTI Pocket Controller Pro v6.01 (this is well worth the money)

Howto: MS VC 1.6 with WMXL .20 WORKING!!!

Update: ZaJules has created a One step cab fix off these instructions - should make things much easier Read his post here! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1161652&postcount=11
I left the contents of the old post bellow incase people wanted to check the steps but probably the one step install created above will be much easier for most people!
Well after a long bit of searching reading I finally got it to work!!!
This is with a Motorola H700 bluetooth headset though I'm guessing it will work with any compatible headset
thanks to BKbroil's post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1146407&postcount=317) I followed his directions.
it still didn't quite work - after fiddling with the registery a little bit (he didn't include what type of reg entries they needed to be) it finally started working!
Here are the steps I followed:
1. Install VC 1.6 (make sure it is in Main memory)
2. Download Bluetooth Voice Command 0.9f.cab
3. Download BTVoiceCommand.exe
4. On your phone, create the Folder \Program Files\Bluetooth Voice Command
5. Copy BTVoiceCommand.exe into this folder
6. Extract the "Bluetooth Voice Command 0.9f CAB.zip" file, then copy the cab to the phone and run it
7. Create the following Registery Entries:
HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand:
Default - String - (value not set)
LaunchAPEnable - DWord - 1 (decimal)
Path - string - \Program Files\Bluetooth Voice Command\BTVCBasic.exe
VoiceCmdDuration - Dword - 30 (decimal)
VoiceCmdEnable - Dword - 0 (decimal)
and
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway:
BTAGExtModule - string - \Windows\btagext.dll
This last one was already set for me but his directions had it so I included it for you to check
8. Go to newly created BT Voice Command config (in Programs) and tick off the check box "Enabled"
9. Set command duration to 30
10. Save settings and exit
11. Soft reset TyTN
12. Delete Headset Pairing
13. Recreate Headset Pairing.
14. Set button 5 to VoiceCommand
15. Reset Device
Hope this helps people out there!!!
Chy
P.S. - I take no credit for anything here except pulling together everything into one neat place and figuring out the registery entries that worked for me - all the hard work was done by the smart guys in this thread! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=283412
EDIT - attached the files I needed (not including VC 1.6) - they were scattered throughout that other thread and hard to find - thought it would be easier if they were in one place and clarified instructions!
Edit 2 - Here is the Exported Registery entries if it makes it clearer - I understand it the way I wrote it more but I suspect the smart people here will understand this more:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand]
"VoiceCmdEnable"=dword:00000000
"VoiceCmdDuration"=dword:0000001e
"Path"="\\Program Files\\Bluetooth Voice Command\\BTVCBasic.exe"
"LaunchAPEnable"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway]
"BTAGExtModule"="\\Windows\\btagext.dll"
hmmm, when i try to enable xcsdm`s hack an unexpected error occurs in btvc config.exe (nullreferenceexception ...).
what is wrong?
Oh I actually had that happen to - then I went to check on the registery settings (which were the next step) and they were not there -I manually edited them and then went back and did that step again and this time it worked fine! Perhaps I should edit the post and reverse those steps (even though that's the order he had them in)
Sorry that I forgot to mention that!
EDIT: I have gone and revised the instructions above to follow my exact steps as opposed to quoting his steps as before then listing my corrections after - I think this makes the directions clearer and easier to follow - if you have any further questions - let me know - I'll do my best to answer!
could you please post what kinds of regvalues have to be created? f.e. dword etc.
thanks

They are there - they were listed down bellow but have since been edited into the post above. However here they are again
HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand

LaunchAPEnable - DWord - 1 (decimal)
Path - string - \Program Files\Bluetooth Voice Command\BTVCBasic.exe
VoiceCmdDuration - Dword - 30 (decimal)
VoiceCmdEnable - Dword - 0 (decimal)
and
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway
BTAGExtModule - string - \Windows\btagext.dll
still no progress, the same error occurs. though values are saved ):

Go over one more time the steps since I've edited them - I just hard reset it and reinstalled following them exactly as stated and following the instructions point by point the way I posted them worked first time no errors!
Is there anyone that would be kind enough to make a cab that creates the registry settings?
I must be doing something wrong because the registry ones I keep making aren't working..
VERY Helpful!
@chymmylt: Super job - thanks for making this so much easier!

Can you clarify step 10
OK here is a one step cab to fix Voice Command 1.6
Please test it and let me know if there are any problems
Instructions:
Install Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 (Duh)
Copy this cab file to your device and tap to install.
Then go to Start > Programs > BT Voice Command Config
and tick enable.
Tap "Save"
Tap "Exit"
Go to bluetooth devices and remove your headset.
Power off your Device (Hold the power button till it asks to shut down)
Restart device.
Re pair your headset.
make sure button 5 is set to Voice Command (Settings > Buttons)

Good work! I'm not good at creating installers but I figured it wouldn't be long before somebody compiled it into an easy installer!
@ZaJules and chymmylt
I just tried the cab along with your instructions and it worked like a charm. Excellent and great work to all that were involved.
I don't understand why the program crashes for me but works for others..
Mine is on a fresh install of .20 ROM with VC 1.6 and my exchange server and thats all I have done..
Hmmm.. Not sure. as I said, I didn't write any of these files, I just read through this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=283412 and pulled together everything I did into a single post to try to make it easier for people. It seems to be working for a number of people but there are a few people that it is not working for.
Did you install VC to your voice or your storage card - everything I've read said not to install it to your storage card - install it to your device - you might check that. If you installed through Zajules cab, try looking through my instructions and check that everything checks out. I'd also try reading through the forum above and see if anything strikes you.
I've seen reports of it working on an 8525 and I have a TyTN (And I suspect it should work on any hermes hardware). I have the 1.34 radio rom though I don't know if that should make any differnce (It might - Bluetooth is controlled by the radio - I really have no idea if that would help and hate to suggest anything that could brick a device - just brainstorming here). I don't have exchange installed so I couldn't say if that has anything to do with it.
Out of curiosty, when you run \Program Files\Bluetooth Voice Command\BTVCBasic.exe manually does it work?
Yes everything is installed to device and that file you asked me about launches the VC for me to input something..
I have tried to add the registry settings but I am very clueless and they aren't coming out right..
Okay I looked and
HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand
Default - String - (value not set)
LaunchAPEnable - DWord - 1 (decimal)
Path - string - \Program Files\Bluetooth Voice Command\BTVCBasic.exe
VoiceCmdDuration - Dword - 30 (decimal)
VoiceCmdEnable - Dword - 0 (decimal)
This entire string is missing..Heck the whole folder VoiceCommand is missing and I can't for the life of me figure out the correct way to add it..
Ok finally figured out how to make the registry keys that are missing so now the applicationlaunches with no error and all the registry settings match but it still won't launch when I press the headset button.
It has worked before WM6 so I know my headset works..
Man If I could just get this going its all I need.. :-(

2. Initial Password also needs to be configured through Createrules GUI (about tab->personal->show)
3. AutoRun, Manual filtering of user folders, Archiving all done through CreateRules GUI.
4. After setting up rules you can use Runrules to filter SMSes.
5. After setting up initial password you can use PrivateSMS app to show hide PRIVATE folder.
The PRIVATE folder will be shown/Created automatically in WM SMS app(tmail)(will automatically open on providing correct password), you need to go and look into the folders to see your SMSes.
GUIDE
FAQs:
1>How to autorun the rules?
To autorun a rule/rules autorun option should be checked in the main menu. auto run run only those rules which have auto option selected.
2>Can I create/delete folders using this?
yes, but you can only create and delete the user folders in SMS account
3>Will copy option copy every time it is run?
No, copy option will copy the message into destination folder and mark the copied message as read at both places. so only unread message will be copied.
4>What folder to select with delete option?
you can select any folder as the message is finally going to be deleted so it wont matter(better option is to chose "deleted items" as it is easy to view in rules view)
5>What is HIDE option!(EDIT)
this option can only be used for now in contacts page.
V3.1>If a message comes from the user it will be deleted from the inbox and saved inside the application. also autorun should be enabled for this feature to work.
V4.1>From v4.1 messages are moved to a hidden folder in the Outlook, so basically the messages are still in outlook but u can't see those.
6> Where to look for HIDDEN messages(EDIT)?
to view hidden messages go to about page and there personal menu->show and select the dropdown to select the user for which u want to see the messages.
From v4.1>To see the hidden messages u have to provide correct password and then click on the show private folder button. Doing this will create a new folder(PRIVATE) and will have all the private messages of yours
From v4.3 An extra shortcut has been supplied which will directly allow you to hide/show private smses. But you need to initially set password from the createrules application.
7>Can i delete the hidden messages?
Yes you can. In 3.1 just select and delete the message and from 4.1 delete it like you delete any other message from your outlook.
8>Do i need to create a folder to store a hidden message?
No, there is no need to select any folder name as application will take care of it. and in view rules option you can find your hidden messages rule in folder named as "#".
9>What is this "#" in contact rules folder dropdown?
refer FAQ 8.
10>How frequently will this app be updated?
As frequently as ideas pour in.
11>What is the initial password?
There is no initial password. After installing v3.1/v4.1 opening personal messages will ask you for a password, that will be used automatically in next logins.
Before using the new PrivateSMS shortcut in 4.3 you need to set up a password for use through CreateRules gui.
12>Can I change password?
Yes, when you have created a password and want to change it you can do that by checking the change password checkbox and providing the old and then the new password.
13>I forgot my password, can i recover it?
no, Contact me here for the solution.
NOTE: You have to create a new password from CreateRules link before you try to use the PrivateSMS shortcut.
14>How to install/Uninstall it?
please uncheck autorun before installing/uninstalling.

CHANGES IN 4.1
1. Modified the hide logic, now saves the messages in outlook.(Thanks to krups for sharing the idea)
2. Fixed some bugs.
3. Autorun application now won't remain running after a message arrives(saving battery and memory).
Changes in 4.2
1. Autorun option stops wm default notification and provides custom notifications for the rules applied. Unchecking Autorun starts wm notification.(Seems it may toggle threaded mode in some devices. U may try this solution)
2. Contact names are now in order.
3. First Name last name rules now working.
4. One more option added to add wildcard numbers. to match common format numbers.
5. Some minor fixes.
6. Select option to view PRIVATE folder in SMS inbox opens the tmail application automatically.
Changes in 4.3
If 4.2 is installed please first un-check autorun.
1. Horizontal ScrollBar added to add contact list.
2. New Tab added (Tools), gives option to Archive selected folders.
Archiving will move all the messages from the selected folders to the ArchivedSMS folder and create a subdirectory tree with same name as of the source folder and under that will create folders datewise.Eg
ArchivedSMS->Inbox->Inbox_160110
Tools tab also provides another option to run the rules over any subfolders.
Select the folder from the dropdown list and then apply rules.
3. New shortcut added in program menu with name "Private SMS" which enables you to access your private folder directly.
NOTE: You have to create a new password from CreateRules link before you try to use the shortcut.
4. The time for which wait cursor was getting displayed when a SMS is intersepted, has been reduced.
5. While changing the password from the main application it asks for the new password two times to confirm.
6. Enabling/Disabling Autorun changes the way the New Text Message is notified. Now this will change the sound and notification settings.
Changes in 4.3a
Modifies the cab to create a folder and keep all the exes shortcuts there.
Added a slider control in PrivateSMS application to fetch number of private smses it should display. Keeping it low will display the last one and maximum will show all.
This was done incase you have alot of Private SMS it used to take time to show them, this option reduces the time by limiting the number of smses you want to see
Changes in 4.4
1. Made custom notification optional, you can now select, to have or not to have a notification displayed when a sms is filtered. You can choose it from Createrules GUI menu.
2. If you have opted to be notified it will display only one notification for all the sms you receive and will have two buttons in notification window, one to close the notification and other to refresh, refresh updates the no of rules completed, incase there were more messages filtered after the first time notification was displayed.
Changes in 4.5
1. Menu modified.
2. Option added for scheduled run(Only at first tab)
3. Control over notification, choose over windows default notification, custom notification and hidden rules notification.
4. One bug fix
Changes in 4.5b

Changes in 4.6b
1. Size reduced
2. Faster filtering
3. Should Work on threaded mode Finally

This app uses the MessageInterceptor APIs (to save battery power) from PocketOutlook which is very buggy. may cause tmail (pocket outlook) to lag or completely freeze if you receive messages quickly back to back.
A post on that:

ps: This *ONLY* applies if you are using this app using the "Auto" mode, if you aren't, then you're safe
Incase you are about to uninstall it PLZ *UNCHECK AUTORUN* or may still lead to some lags.

Thanks for your work.
will try it on my HTC Touch HD
normally I sort them manually (big effort), now it seems, I found a solution.
You get my feedback ;-)
How exactly should a rule be written?
My goal is to write a rule so that:
messages starting with,
and/or ending with,
a certain word or several words,
(without a difference in capital letters or not),
get moved to a certain folder that I've created in my SMS/MMS inbox.
My failed attempt so far was to try it the following way:
I created a folder called "Filter".
I then created a new Message Rule.
For the rule I entered "BANANA" in the "Filter Message" box.
I selected the folder in the list called "FILTER".
I pressed "Add".
Now it's in the existing message rules when I select the FILTER folder.
That obviously didn't work but it was a fun try
Sidenote 1: I'm using an HTC Touch Pro 2 (European Version) with threaded messages disabled so I could create a new folder in my SMS/MMS inbox.
Sidenote 2: The program's working perfectly on a WVGA screen. Even when I slide out my keyboard and the screen turns it still works fine, apart from the fact that half of the screen hides as no scroll bars appear. This is easily resolved by sliding the keyboard back in.
Sidenote 3: It would be great if the "Unkown Contact" could be added. (The one that lacks a first and last name in the address book.)
I haven't seen the program work yet but I'm loving it already.

Thanks for testing it ysva
well after creating the filter rule did you run it Menu-> run rules ?
well the current filter works like it will search for whole message content for the given filter and that will be case insensitive.
and also it wont work for MMS
You're welcome mohitsapru.
I created 1 rule.
I opened the "MessageRule" tab.
The filter message was "BANANA", (which I entered in capital letters for tests with case sensitivity).
I selected the folder called FILTER and then I pressed "Add".
EDIT: I did get the "Message rule added" message.
The rule had been added to the "message rules" in the "Existing" tab.
I then continued to send myself a couple of text messages from a different phone number with messages such as "BANANA", "banana", "test BANANA", "banana test".
I then went back to press the "Run Rules" button. The windows loading icon appeared for a couple of seconds.
Then I went to check the "Inbox" folder and the text messages are still there. The "Filter" folder is still empty. I will now do some tests to see what happens if I choose a different folder.
Another result of testing: I just deleted the BANANA rule and the application crashed with an unknown error.
The error is as follows:
CreateRules.exe
NullReferenceException

CreateRules.Rules.menuItem2_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)

Cant figure out y s is this happning... well we will wait till others confirm...
and thanks for testing heavily
You're still welcome.
After the error I ran the program again and it worked normally. The rule that I had deleted (that caused the error) was gone so that was fine too. I did not get another error. Perhaps it only happens when one deletes the rule, adds it again in the exact same way but with a different folder, and tried to delete it again. That's what happened the last time.
I tried selecting different folders and creating different text messages with BANANA in different folders, but that didn't work. The situation did not when if my inbox was open at the same time as your program or not. I am thinking that HTC's Touchflo might be interfering or that I need to soft reset my phone, I'm going to try that now.
Suggestion: Perhaps it would be easier if a folder could be selected that would be scanned for a certain criterium and then a folder could be selected where to move it to.
EDIT: Suggestion 2: For in the future when you're bored and have absolutely nothing to do and want to add new features: Option to auto mark as read for everything that gets moved.
Note: I noticed that you're using WM 6.5, I'm still using 6.1 because HTC has not yet provided an official upgrade for the european version of the HTC Touch Pro II. I do have the latest .NET framework etc. etc. installed. Might there be a compatibility issue?

I found out why it is erroring while deleting a rule... when either no selection has been done or no rule is selected...
Well sorry for confusion i am using wm6.1 cooked rom.... i just keep changing ROMS more than changing Signature
I have manila2d and it keeps showing SMSes. well i tried with my inbox open and ran a rule and it is working... maybe someone can give inputs for their runs... maybe some issues with different OS versions...

Text Message Sent Confirmation - How to disable?

Everytime I send a text message, it pops up a message letting you know that it was sent. It is extremely annoying. Is there anyway to turn it off? I went into the options and unchecked the boxes, but that didn't work.

Got under my skin too! Download CeRegEditor to your pc and sync your phone via WMDC run the CeRegEditor make connection within the program and go to tools and then unlock registry, then follow these keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\ change key value SMSNoSentMSG to a value of 1. Save the edit and perform soft reset. Tada no more annoyance!!! If you dont like the thought of thumbing through your registry then you can find .cab file that will preform it for you. And also you can download other programs that for the life of me I cant think of right now and install them to change this and other settings on your phone. Just do a search and youll find them. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply. That sucks that you have to do all that to get rid of this annoyance. What were they thinking when they put this message confirmation in? Wow, what a mistake.
I am pretty sure that I used HD tweak to turn it off. 2.1 - Sent notification- disabled.
Very useful app as is Schapps Advanced Config tool. Both should be on your phone.
I use "Rhodium Settings Tool" by Tom_Condom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=549135 once installed go to menu>text massaging>notifications SMS sent

Today we have something special for YOU!
A tutorial on how to own MP3s as email and SMS tone used on the OMNIA 7!
It should go well with other devices, if you have a suitable registry editor!
Please note: Any changes to this device is at your own risk. Your device you can not "destroy", but may choose one or the other wrong attitude. In the worst case, you have to reset the device! But if you just stick to the guide, can not go wrong!
Requirement is, as always, an open phone, meaning Jailbreak must be present.
First you should know how to create your own ringtones (and on his Samsung device starrs)
-> This explanation can be found here -> http://dotconn.de/main/homebrew/tutorial-eigene-klingeltone/
You must, after your have your wish tone on the phone, simply visit ahead and follow every step.
Tip: Please rename the ringtones only briefly, since the name will be entered later in the Registry must!
Instructions:
1. Create e-mail for only a wma which is then email.wma
2. create them then as in the tutorial (http://dotconn.de/main/homebrew/tutorial-eigene-klingeltone/)
3. Xap was created after the file, rename file -> should then also best email.xap loud (we will present here have 2 sounds available for download, once and for email sms.xap post.xap)
