I never had problems with synchronising with Exchange 03, but the freezing startscreen problem is happend now for ~4th time...
Now i changed back to v3.7 and wait until Tom releases v4.1... hope this freezing problem will dissapear. But i know, Tom will fix it for sure
Why did you change back to WM5? There are other releases of WM6 from Tom which are also very good, but without TouchFlo...

I just upgraded my MDA-Vario 2 to WM6, it used to sync fine to SBS2003, but now email OK, contacts OK, but NO Calendar entries - I deleted the partnership and reinstated it, there was an 'attempt' to sync the calendar, but no entries appear on the MDA. Any ideas anyone?

WM6 and syncing with 2 partnerships?

Hello,
I have a major issue with my new P3600, it has currently WM5 with AKU 3.3.
It seems there is a known issue with the AKU 3.3 making it impossible to sync Outlook items (calendar, contacts, tasks) with more than one source.
My question:
Is anybody syncing with WM6 and 2 PCs and/or Exchange Activesync? Does it work?
I would then consider flashing it to WM6.
Regards
Mundl
I've always synced it with 2 partnerships with WM5 and with WM6. I sync with 2 PC's and 1 Exchange server.
Maybe are your problems related to the version of ActiveSync.

I am using WMDC 6.1 on Vista at home, and ActiveSync 4.5 with XP at the office.
This worked for my Magician and WM2003 always perfectly. So I guess now the WM5 AKU 3.3 is to blame.
No problem here either

Much like Stingray stated, I have been able to sync with 2 PC's on every WM5 and WM6 device that I have ever used. It has to be a glitch in your version of AS. What version are you using?

You lucky boys ;-)
However I am not lucky:
I flashed my P3500 with AX3L WM6 ROM, deleted all partnerships on my computers, and set everything up freshly.
However, I still can only sync Outlook with only one device.
Another thing that worries me: WMDC always gives me a new device ID like "HTC89". What is that about?
Yesss!!! Finally I figured out the problem underlying and the solution.
I have my Outlook at work and at the office configured for different Exchange Servers! I use the company Exchange Server in Outlook in the office, and my private Exchange Server in Outlook at home.
All I needed to do was to change this registry key on the device, and syncing was possible:
hkey_current_user/software/microsoft/activesync/EnableNonLocalCrossPollination = 1

Official O2 WM 6 Rom and Activesync 4.5

Hi all,
having upgraded to the official O2 WM6 Rom, I have since been getting trouble with Activesync. The syncronisation is very slow and sometimes will not syncronise at all. I sometimes have to disconnect and reconnect to get the blue bar to move and complete syncronisation.
I am running XP sp2 on both home and work PCs and it is the same on both computers.
Anyone else noticed any problems synchronising with the WM6 Rom and Activesync 4.5?
I have searched the forum and also tried Microsoft knowledgebase but to no avail.

Same problem ive had here, but finaly it worked! No issues since.
I Have had the problem at 1st sync after the update. Then tried to sync 1st the contacts, then added calendar, files and so on. It appeared that my big calendar (400 appointments in total or so) made that activesync hung. I changed the setting from sync all appointments to just the next 2 weeks, and then activesync synced properly. After i added some more weeks, and at last i synced all apointments.
No problems since, also at first sync at work (2nd pc with activesync) this problem did not occur at all and i could sync all appointments (and contacts, files, and so on) at once.
Hope this helps for you 2!!!
Twiggerdingo, thanks, I may try that, but all appointments and contacts are now synchronised, it still takes ages though and sometimes stops, even when there is only one item to synchronise.

I cannot add contacts on B&B 4.1

Hi there, i upgraded my artemis yesterday and for some reason i was missing one contact i had to call today, the thing is that when i want to add the contact, so i open pocketCM new contact, i put the name, the file as and the number and when i click ok it gives me an error which states
"ERROR"
"An Unexpected error has ocurred in this program"
My only way out is by clicking ok and canceling the contact... is there anyone else experiencing this? how can i solve it?!?!
Thanks to all and specially to TOM.
Noone can help me?
Did you upgrade from WM5 to this ROM, and if so, did you use something like SPB Backup for your contacts, and restore to WM6? If you did, your contacts database will be broken on WM6, which may cause this...

I upgraded from wm5 to wm6 bb 4.0. i couldnt add contacts there either, i was hoping it was a bug... so what can i do? extract the contacs and put them one by one?
I'm sure there's probably many ways to recover from this, but I used a copy of Outlook. I restored my contacts to the phone with SPB backup, then using active sync, synced them to Outlook. Once done, I did a hard reset on my phone to fix the contacts database, then again using active sync, copied the contacts back from Outlook.
As I say, probably just one of many ways of doing it, but worked for me.
Good luck!

Problem with Vista and WM 6.1 Syncing?

Is there a deep-seated problem with syncing WM 6.1 with Vista's WMDC?
I have tried just about every WM 6.1 ROM produced by the excellent chefs here. On every occasion, my Hermes syncs perfectly on the first setup. However, every time I reconnect, the sync fails, with a message that there is a problem with the desktop PC. Deleting the partnership solves it for one sync, then it fails on subsequent ones. So, every time, I re-flash back to my trusty WM6 ROM and, voila, syncing returns to normal.
This occurs with every 6.1 ROM I have tried. It happens with my desktop and my laptop, both running Vista. I have checked that I have the latest version of WMDC. I have ensured that I have unticked "Enable advanced network functionality' in the USB-to-PC option.
I need to sync my Hermes every day, so this problem stops me using any of the 6.1 ROMs. Am I the only one with this problem? Has anyone had the problem and solved it?

Yes, both desktop and laptop are using that version of WMDC.
I have that constantly as well with every 6.1 ROM i've used.
My "workaround" is to turn off the calendar sync, allow the other items to sync, then turn calendar sync back on and re-sync
Then that PC will sync properly until I try to sync to another PC and I have to turn off calendar, etc... again
I've using WM 6.1 ROMs with Vista for some time now and have never had that problem. The only difference is that I leave the enable advance network..blah..blah checked. Try it.

Thanks very much for your response. I am heartened to hear that someone else is experiencing the same problem, and it is not just me.
I will try the calendar sync work-around.
Blackout128. Thanks for your reponse as well, but I have tried it with that box ticked and unticked. From Radimus above, it could be a calendar issue. Do you sync with Outlook Calendar?
Yes, I sync the calendar. I guess it was kind of stupid to suggest something that simple. I hope the calendar issues works, who knows with vista, I may have that problem tomorrow.

My final question, and this is the killer question - Are you using Outlook 2003 or 2007?
I use Outlook 2007, and my suspicion is that there could be a problem syncing with that version. Those who use Outlook 2003 might not experience it.
If you say you use Outlook 2003, great, perhaps I have got to the root of the problem.
If you say you use Outlook 2007, I will pack my bags and go!

I have no problem slashing and syncing using Outlook 2002.
Having read Radimus' workaround, I re-installed a WM 6.1 ROM. Once again, I experienced sync problems. But, as soon as I removed Calendar from the sync items, everything worked well.
Is there anyone out there able to sync calendar items between a WM 6.1 Hermes and an Outlook 2007 PC?
I am running Outlook 2007. Here is my Outlook Info.

Active sync not syncing calendar

Hi Folks,
I've flashed my Orbit with a couple of new ROMs recently (my first time doing it, seems to have gone smoothly).
I've just noticed that Active Sync doesn't seem to be taking my calendar items from my PC to my device. Everything else goes across OK, and AS says that it's synced the calendar, but nothing appears.
Any ideas??
Matt
I think I've figured this out now. It looks like WM6.1 isn't compatible with my work laptop, which runs XP & Office 2000.
Don't think Office 2000 is supported?
The combination WM 6.1 and ActiveSync 4.5 sucks... especially if you use two PC's. There's a topic about that. Microsoft says they support WM6 but no word about WM6.1, so I think we can wait forever for a solution.
My solution is to go back to WM6
